Good Omens, an apocalyptic comedy series created by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, is set to return in summer 2023 with new characters and familiar faces. The third season will focus on the romance between Aziraphale and Crowley, as well as the story of agents of God. The series, which was originally planned as a movie, has been renewed for its third and final season in December 2023.
The cast includes David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Miranda Richardson, Jon Hamm, and others. The series is based on the 1990 novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. The series is set to premiere on Prime Video this summer.
Gaiman will continue to serve as executive producer, writer, and showrunner, while Gilliam and Tony Grisoni have stopped working on the adaptation. Production on the third and final season has been paused, but production is expected to begin early next year.
Ahead of the filming start, Michael Sheen gave a status update on Good Omens season 3 and shared his hopes for the new season. The series will continue to explore the themes of alienation, alienation, and the consequences of human actions on the environment.
