Orbeck of Vinheim is a reclusive sorcerer in Dark Souls 3, who can only be recruited if you are a SoL. To get his summon sign for the Lothric, Younger Prince boss fight, you must hand in one of the four Sorcery Scrolls and purchase at least one Sorcery from him before defeating the Abyss Watchers or four other bosses after recruiting him. Orbeck is the only character who accepts scrolls and without his ashes, you cannot get his unique spells from anyone else.
To get Orbeck’s summon sign to appear for the Lothric, Younger Prince boss fight, you must give him all four scrolls, buy all of his spells, and have him tell you he is. Once you buy all the spells from him and kill Prices Bros, you can find his dead body in Grand Archives. If you have Orbeck’s ashes, you can give them to the shrine handmaiden to access his spell list at the time of his death.
Orbeck only left at Watchers in the initial base game. Anyone who’s up to date on patches or has the DLC will find he leaves after any four bosses are killed without Yuria demanding his death. You don’t actually have to kill him. Just find all the scrolls, give them to him, and buy out his spell selection. He will leave Firelink and his spells.
If you don’t purchase all his spells before this boss fight, he will remain in the Firelink Shrine and will not die. In NG+ and beyond, you won’t be able to summon him for the one boss fight you could have summoned him for. To start the questline properly, players must make a promise with him to share magic, and he will head to the Firelink shrine.

Elden Ring, a FromSoftware game, focuses on magic and offers players two types of spells: Incantations and Sorceries. Sorceries are more focused on damage and ranged firepower, while Incantations focus on ranged firepower. Knowing which Sorceries to equip is essential for making the most of Elden Ring’s magic.
Tarnished can use a combination of these spells to take down bosses or wipe out enemy camps. Some players prefer not to rely solely on Sorcery and use a weapon alongside the spells. Most legendary Sorceries are found in the late game, but some decent ones can be acquired in the early game.

📹 Dark Souls 3 – Orbeck’s Questline (FULL NPC QUEST WALKTHROUGH w/ COMMENTARY)
Hey all! I am very excited that the series is slowly coming to a close with the limited NPC’s left in the game to do a quest line …
Orbeck is by far my favorite npc. A character who In the beginning seems like a hardcore person who is all buissness but when you start giving him scrolls you can hear the excitement over him talking the scrolls’s secrets. One of the few characters in dark souls that seems down to earth, he’s just a scholar who really wanted to learn the ancient history of spells.
I never found or spoke to Orbeck until after I killed the Abyss Watchers and was preparing to fight the Twin Princes. After checking online for any nearby summon signs, I was able to find out about Orbeck and his quest-line. That’s when I first spoke to him, then fast traveled back to Firelink Shrine and was able to give him all four scrolls since I had already gathered them before I even knew who he was. I still have to farm enough souls to buy all his spells and make him available to summon for the Twin Princes boss fight, but I think it will work out.
Sadly, DS3 shafted caster pretty hard in this game. Multiple rings are required to deal half-way decent damage. (40% of all caster damage is locked behind items.) Higher level investment for hard caps. Spell Merchants become useless after NG. (Spells no longer stack, most spell merchants don’t sell consumables or useful late game items.) Nearly all FP recovery items requires the caster to be a Gish-type character instead of a pure caster. (Saphire requires criticals, Executioner Blade is a Greatsword, and the Handmaiden’s Dagger recovers 1 to 2 FP per hit.) Cast Speed is linked to Dexterity instead of Attunement. Catalysts/Talismans/Chimes can’t be infused. Nearly all equipment that benefits a caster has a drawback, either through lowered resistances, less health, or worse of all, looks like something from Lady Gaga’s wardrobe. Simple Gems can’t be infused on caster related items. Casters have the least varied Weapon Arts. You get less spell slots per level of Attunement than any other game in the series. Hexes were gutted from the game. Frostbite spells (or Cryomancy) were shoehorned like Hexes under Sorcery. As much as I like the Soulsborne series, DS3 dropped the ball hard on Casters in this game.
I..May killed the Abyss Watchers But…. He never disappeared from my firelink and I never gave him the scroll, aka if you start Yuria of Londor’s questline, he is stuck in firelink as a quest for her, that you.. Have to let him die in, so.. Is this a bug? Or is Orbeck not leaving XD cause I havent did the Sage Scroll
