What spell beat Voldemort?
Roughly translated, Expelliarmus – the Disarming Charm – means ‘ to drive out a weapon ‘ and that’s what it does: forces the subject to drop whatever they’re holding. Usually that’s a wand, which is why it’s often seen in duels, and Harry definitely took that to heart, given how much he used it in combat. Harry became so enamoured with the spell that he eventually used it to finish off Lord Voldemort. Here’s how Harry’s relationship with Expelliarmus became his signature – and why that’s a good and bad thing.
Professor Snape taught Harry the spell. It was during Professor Lockhart’s short-lived Duelling Club that Harry learned the spell that would define him. Not from Lockhart (of course) but from Snape. In the second year, we knew Snape as the bad-tempered Potions Master who supposedly hated Harry, but it’s interesting to think it was this brave former follower of Voldemort who taught Harry the spell that toppled the Dark Lord.
Learning Expelliarmus. Spells are tricky things. Harry took a while to get to grips with the Summoning Charm he used in the first Triwizard task and even Hermione struggled with her Patronus. So the fact that Harry quickly developed an aptitude for Expelliarmus could explain why he was confident enough to use it in challenging situations. Within months of learning it, Harry used Expelliarmus to get Riddle’s diary back from Malfoy and to disarm Lockhart, plus he spent the final hours of second year practicing it, getting very good in the process.

These curses are obtained through Sebastian Sallow’s quests, which are marked on the map and Field Guide. What spell can deflect Avada Kedavra?
The Killing Curse is a spell that causes instantaneous death and is one of the three Unforgivable Curses. Its incantation is Avada Kedavra. The only known counter-spell is sacrificial protection, which uses love magic. The curse cannot be intercepted by another spell, except in Priori Incantatem situations where the caster and opponent’s wands and spells are locked together. An explosion or green fire may result if the spell hits something other than a living target.
Only two wizards have survived the curse: Harry Potter and Tom Riddle. Harry survived two direct attacks in 1981 and 1998, thanks to his mother’s self-sacrificing love and Voldemort’s blood protection. Voldemort was notorious for using the curse regularly and indiscriminately. The Killing Curse was invented during the early middle ages by Dark witches or wizards to quickly and efficiently kill opponents in duels.

Between all the different Hogwarts Legacy spells, curses, potions, plants, talents, and even dark magic, there are a ton of options …
For anyone having a problem with the dodging or protego – put on the fidelity setting or whichever one is for higher and smoother framerate. Dodge mechanics in games nowadays are taking a hit because frames are not constant and stable anymore because of the ps5 and xbox series x/s releases. You get FPS drops in the higher graphics settings which causes attacks to appear faster or your dodge window to be significantly smaller for no reason. PC players usually fix that by optimizing the settings for a constant refresh rate at the best settings but you can’t do that with the consoles so a lot of players don’t understand why dodging/parrying/counters have been so difficult for them lately. Hope this helps yall.
Trolls are easier if you don’t teleport dodge red attack and just do simple dodges because it’s easier to avoid their combo red attack and makes them go into a yellow club attack that can be easily dodged and use flipendo on them so their club hits them in the head. Also their rock throw is easy to perfect parry so you don’t need to grab it from the air to throw it at them, it just gets automatically reflected back by the parry and so you can continue with a stupefy. That is of course very good upgraded to do damage and to curse the enemy too.
No potions mentions? and above all, no plant mentions? the combat goes really fucking great and easy when you use plants, and also upgrades do count, that’s why the room of requirement is so important you can stuck up for everything you need. I was playing on normal and the game got very very easy, and even on hard it feels fucking great.
Hey everyone I can’t wait to play this game on my Nintendo wii, given that I was born a girl with a wand I think I’ll make a natural spell caster I can’t wait to see what kinds of magic we can learn!! I hope I get to learn transfiguration personally, even though I was assigned potions at birth, Anyways, I thought it’s pretty cool they gave Dumbledore more holes in this game, but the system for detecting what gender you are irl doesn’t seem to work! It keeps thinking I’m a boy which is pretty crazy!! But don’t worry everyone! I’ll keep sending pictures of my wand to Warner brothers in the mail! They keep sending me money on PayPal but I just want them to confirm my gender in game!! Hehehe silly Warner brothers!! 😋 I’m sure eventually they’ll confirm I’m a girl and let me play! Cant wait to see you all in game!
I’m so confused on the in depth articles for the Hogwarts game? It made sense for Elden Ring that had intentionally obtuse quest, game mechanics, secrets ext. the game is design to be extremely difficult to unpack without community socialization. Hogwarts Legacy is just a typical AAA titles that spoon feeds everything to players because there primary audience is literal children. So the game is easy to understand and pretty simple to master. What’s the point of an in-depth mechanics breakdown if the mechanics are just shallow AAA normalities.
Ugh god I know it’s naive but I really wish people would boycott this game and stop perpetuating JK Rowling’s continued cultural relevance. Transphobic as hell, fatphobic, antisemitic and dare I say “pro slavery” lmao? It’s just… not good. I wish more people would be anti-transphobic because anything less than that is complicity because it means you just don’t care 😔
