I think the Lovers is one the Major Arcana that is the most difficult for me. I always have this sense of connecting with people, mainly those who I end up in love with, but on the other hand, I always end up losing myself in the process to the point that when is over there’s nothing left. I’m loving this series of Deep Dive! ♥ Much love
Shifting from competition to collaboration. Shared values. Following your Heart. Path with a Heart. Intimacy. Mutual agreement. When two or more are in agreement concerning what is possible and needful, the unlimited power of Collective Synergy reigns Supreme. Sense of belonging to a larger whole. We are Life at large experiencing itself as all of us simultaneously. Therefore, we are all It to an unknowable/inexhaustible extent, as the facets of a Diamond are ‘both’ distinct from each other ‘and’ the Diamond itself. Love is the recognition of our shared Being.
I’ve always been attracted to bad boys a primal instinct .I see them as more able to masculine and protection but it never seems to work. I’ve repeatedly made the same mistake and undermined my value as a woman. I’ve since realized and and making the necessary changes to connect with a partner that respects y values. No longer interested in toxic connections! Great job explaining!
Kate! I bought 6 different tarot art pieces a few months ago, and have been led to write the meaning of each card (Tower, Death, Moon, Lovers, Justice, Star) on the back of them before hanging them up. I’ve finally finished this last card, and am excited to hang them up. I want to thank you for how you explain each card, and for the wonderful joyful energy you emit. Thank you, and much, much love!
I like the concept that the major arcana cards all have a light side and a dark side, because that reflects life itself. For instance, positivity is quite often considered a good thing, but relentless positivity against all odds – a positivity which will not allow nuances of feeling and others’ vulnerabilities, can be destructive.
Very interesting explanation of The Lovers from you. The Lovers to me is a connection that is Divinely orchestrated, it can be in our destiny. And as we also can see in the card above and between the naked couple a Divine Man with angel wings. Also a connection with a soulcontract from past lifes. The Lovers has the element of Air and represent the zodiac sign Gemini ♊️ in readings. Love & Light ❤️☀️🌈🙏🏻
I’m a beginner Tarot reader and want to learn how to read them for friends but using a unique and different perspective. Took out my major arcana to dive into them. One card per day. Haven’t touched my Tarot in more than a year since my breakup of a 23 yr LTR. First card I drew for deep dive are the lovers. Upside down. I quickly decided I’ll go and see a couple of important women in my life today.
Great information about the Lovers. It’ll be helpful for my readings. One of my regular refrains about couples is ‘opposites attract’. I’ve thought the same about many of my coupled friends. I think our attractions are often impossible to understand. We get caught up in inexplicable forces and look back years later and wonder. Your deep dive series is invaluable. Thank you for your insightful and inspirational articles.
Hi Kate, I enjoyed your Deep Dive of The Lovers. Maintaining Sense of self and vulnerability is needed for a true connection with another. That makes alot of sense and I can see where I have lost myself in relationships. I like to watch your articles a couple of times and ponder your questions. Thank you
I’m realizing I have been having a hard time making friendships and connections because of how disconnected I am to myself. I spend a lot of time trying to escape myself with screen time and gaming (and a whole host of other addictions). This is my second deep dive and Journaling session with you, and you ask so many good questions! I don’t feel connected to the lovers card right now, because I notice a lot of anger and suppression of feelings when I try to. But, I will try to find that sense of self that I long for. Thank you for your teachings!! Gonna take a few days and let this sit. Then move onto the hermit!
I’ve been walking my way through this series and each article has been very helpful 🙂. I decided to use one of my decks (very modern -the Hierophant would not be happy, haha) to look for the symbols and I didn’t see any hints of sex/arousal until I looked closer and sure enough there is, but ever so subtle.
12:26 Oh, how sensible of you, that you directed it to the “latest decision” with this question, that’s very aware-like and helpful. For the Lovers theme I came across at non -Tarot source: “The kingdom of the human animals also split into two kingdoms, namely into the two sexes. This gave rise to physical love, which again formed the bond between the two sexes, and on the other hand the possibility of higher development, of spiritual knowledge. Because the human kingdom split and physical love came into being, the gods were able to develop more highly at the expense of human beings, since for the gods the physical love of human beings was the air of life just as the oxygen of the plants was for human beings and animals, just as the light radiated back from the mineral kingdom was for plants. It is said in Greek myth that the gods live on nectar and ambrosia. This is the male and female love of man.” A very playful 🐬 and specific material on another card Kate. Thank you. 🌊
