The Major Arcana are the named cards in a cartomantic Tarot pack, consisting of 22 cards in a standard 78-card pack. These cards, also known as Trump cards, represent major life events and archetypal themes. They work as an unchangeable trump suit in card games played while using the Tarot deck.

The Major Arcana is a collection of 22 trump Tarot cards that unveil the fundamental archetypes of human existence. The cards are seen as the most powerful and significant in the deck, representing major life events and archetypal themes. The Major Arcana, also known as the Trumps Major or the Greater Arcana, comprise twenty-two cards of the seventy-eight card Tarot deck.

The Emperor and Empress cards, represented by their number among the trumps, represent universal, “cosmic” secular authority. The word Arcana translates to Secret or Mystery. Each of the twelve so-called “zodiacal” trump cards can be assigned one of four classical elements (Fire, Water, Air, and Earth) according to the quality of the card.

The Magician tarot card, also known as “the juggler” or “the magus”, is used as the first trump card in the most traditional Tarot card. The Major Arcana Tarot cards represent life lessons, karmic influences, and big archetypal themes. A trump card could be defined as a playing card that is part of a suit of trump cards.

Tarot trump cards from the 15th century already have an internal structure that maps well to the Kabbalistic Sephiroth tree.

What does top trump mean?

Top Trumps is a card game first published in 1978, where players compare numerical data on cards to try to win an opponent’s card. Each pack of cards is based on a theme, such as cars, aircraft, books, boats, dinosaurs, or characters from a popular film or television series. Each card shows a list of numerical data about the item, such as engine size, weight, length, and top speed. If the theme is about a TV series or film, the cards include characters with data varying from strength and bravery to fashion and looks.

All cards are dealt among players, with at least two players and at least one card for each player. The starting player selects a category from their topmost card and reads its value, while each player reads the same value from their cards. The player with the best value wins the “trick”, and the winner takes all the cards of the trick and places them at the bottom of their pile. They then choose the category for the next round.

Tarot cards are a popular tool for self-reflection and guidance, as well as entertainment and exploring subconscious mind aspects. However, there is no single card that stands out as the most powerful. Each card has different meanings and impacts, depending on the context, question, and reader interpretation. Some of the most influential cards include The Fool, the first card of the Major Arcana, which represents new beginnings and infinite possibilities.

The Fool is often depicted as a young man about to step off a cliff, with a dog at his feet, a bag on his shoulder, and a white rose in his hand. The Tower, the third card, represents the power of turning ideas into reality and the potential to create and transform ourselves. Overall, the Tarot cards play a significant role in shaping our lives and providing guidance.

How do you play trumps in cards?

In a knockout whist game, trumps are chosen by the player to the right of the dealer, and the cards are played out as tricks around the table. The dealer plays a card followed by the person to their left until everyone has played one card. The collection of played cards is called a trick, and the rules include following suit, playing a trump to beat non-trump cards, discarding non-trump cards, and over trumping or putting a higher trump on a lower trump to win the trick.

In round two, the person with the highest number of tricks in round one chooses trumps after the hands are dealt. If two players tie on the highest number of tricks, they must cut for who decides trumps. The winner of the most tricks is the person who decides which suit is trumps in the following round. The number of cards per person decreases by one each round, and the overall winner is determined on the last card.

A rule in knockout whist is that if a person wins no tricks, they are reduced to having one card in the following round, and if they fail to win their trick, they are eliminated from the game.

What are trump cards in a tarot deck?

Trumps, originally called trionfi, were introduced in trick-taking games around 1420, with the first known example being ordered by the Duke of Milan. This concept was later adopted in the game of Karnöffel, where some cards of a given suit had full trump powers, others were partial trumps, and the 7s had a special role. These features have been retained in games of the Karnöffel family, but not in Tarot games. Suits with variable powers are called chosen suits or selected suits to distinguish them from trump suits.

The English word trump comes from trionfi, a type of 15th-century Italian playing cards, and triumphus, meaning triumph or victory procession. The term θρίαμβος, which means hymn to Dionysus, is derived from the Greek term θρίαμβος, which means a hymn to Dionysus sung in processions in his honor.

  • Just listened to a gun scientist and he said there was 3 different guns shot, first one was shooter who wounded Mr T with the first bullet, then fired 5-6 more bullets with same sound, then another gun coming from further away that fired 5-6 bullets off then the sniper police fired one shot only. I was perusal the rally at the time and I heard the different gunshots, but I kind of ignored them because I thought it was from the same person. Then I jumped up and started crying and when I rewound the different sounds sounded like three different guns. I’m just a shooter for my protection, but I use a handgun and it didn’t sound like any of those.

  • New subscriber. I immediately felt the surveillance coverage is from Mikwaukee. Too many things don’t add up like the explosive stuff found in his car? Something is off. Gut feeling. I love these cards and your reading. The fact too he had no Social Media presence too was really surprising for a 20 yr old. Just my thoughts.

  • Thank you Trishe for this very interesting reading =). I just subscribed to your website, on the recommendation of a reader I have been subscribed to for a long time. She was using one of your decks, (Investigation Oracle), and she mentioned that you had a website as well. Her website is Mystical Fortunes (Shanta) so perhaps more people will be joining your website too, from her mentioning you =).

  • Someone close to Trump stated that he was very upset that Biden was all over the news due to his poor debate performance…he was upset that he was not getting the attention. He mentioned something big needed to happen at his rally to bring the attention back on him…not sure how true but sure does sound like something he would say.

  • @TrisheJamesTarot I am a native of the US, and want to suggest 2 different possible interpretations interpretation of the “Distraction Illustration” card that you pulled. 1) Biden is a scorpio, a sign known for being vengeful, and with him being forced out, especially after having given several interviews, where he insisted thag he was not leaving: His deciding to not be the candidate, and to give them a short amount of time, to race, to put together a credible campaign, could have been his way of telling the ones he was counting on to support him to F- themselves. What would, realistically, be the probability of that? ‘There was a headline over here, about some sort of engagement of the secret service there may have been gunfire near his granddaughter’s residence, which is supposed to be so near the White House, within the time frame of the lead-up to his alleged mind-change, and that sounded scary. 2) I do not believe for 1 second that Kamala Harris is going to be the Democrat’s candidate – I just have a feeling that there is a bait-and-switch afoot. Ever since the last election, when Trump was claiming fraudulence and cheating, and pretty much vowing a rematch, my intuition has said that neither Trump nor Biden would be in the US. Election, come November 2024, thay each would be taken out, in some way, by their own parties. Is THIS what is happening? I don’t know, but what I DO know is that, it might explain a lot, if it is. I believe that Biden and Trump assured their own downfalls, by the hires that they made, under the advice of, or as favors to, false-supporters, double-agents, who feigned allegiance, TO put in place the mess-makers, who would take them down.
