What Is Astrology’S Composite Midpoint Method?

The composite chart is a recent technique based on synastry that uses the midpoints of a pair of planets, angles, and focal points of a couple’s natal charts to create an astrological chart of the couple as an entity. It sheds additional light on the synastry and is derived by determining the mathematical midpoints between each person’s planets and points. The composite chart shows each planet in a position exactly between the individual planets, Sun to.

The midpoint method is one of the go-to techniques in an astrologer’s toolkit for composite chart analysis. Composite midpoints are formed by the midpoint of the same planet from two or more different charts. They offer profound insights into a person’s character and life themes. Midpoints can be calculated for any two points or a combination of them.

A composite chart is calculated as an “average chart” from the natal charts of both partners, with the composite Sun being exactly half-way between the two planets or points in the chart. This method calculates the midpoint of each person’s Ascendant (or Midheaven) just as above with the Aries Rising example, but from then on, the midpoint of the composite Ascendant is on the midpoint between the two Ascendants of the partners.

The composite chart is the result of two birth charts added together to find the mathematical midpoint between each placement. The Davison horoscope takes the midpoint in time between the couples’ birth-date. The co-ordinates are also half-way.

The composite chart is born from the harmonious fusion of the birth data of two individuals, creating a singular chart that represents the energy, essence, and transits of the couple. With the click of a button, current planetary positions can be added to any composite chart to view the group’s transits.
