📹 Chiron in Astrology, with Melanie Reinhart
In episode 271 astrologer Melanie Reinhart joins the show to talk about her pioneering work on the minor planet Chiron in …
Where is Chiron now in 2024?
In astrology, Chiron, a minor planet, is a “wounded healer” and will turn retrograde in the Aries zodiac sign on July 26, 2024, for another five months until December 29, 2024. This period is beneficial for self-healing and spiritual activities, as it can help individuals overcome depression and doubts in their self-confidence. The asteroid, which represents a “wounded healer”, is expected to be present for another five months until December 29, 2024. Therefore, it is recommended that individuals utilize this time for self-healing and spiritual growth.
What is the trauma of Chiron in Sagittarius?
Individuals with Chiron in Sagittarius seek meaning by establishing their own beliefs and finding their own path to healing. They may be serious and seek freedom and fun. Those with Chiron in Capricorn are serious and seek to connect with imperfect reality. Those with Chiron in Aquarius see a disconnect between their ideals and reality, and their challenge is to connect with the imperfect, grounded version of reality.
How do I find my Chiron sign?
The Chiron sign is determined by the constellation under which the planet was situated at the time of the individual’s birth. A birth chart calculator can assist in the expedient determination of one’s Chiron sign by entering pertinent data, including date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. In a standard birth chart, the Chiron sign is situated between Pluto and Black Moon Lilith. In some instances, the term “house” may be used in lieu of a sign, signifying a distinct zodiac sign.
Which God is Sagittarius?
Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, shares a connection with Lord Vishnu and Lord Hanuman, who bless them with greater energies. Sagittarians are known for their wealth and accomplishments, so they should pray to Lord Hanuman and fast on Tuesdays or Saturdays. They are also advised to do Hanuman Chalisa daily to protect themselves from evil energies and wavering minds. All zodiac signs have their ruling planets and Lords associated with them, and certain Gods and goddesses can help with specific life issues by attracting greater energies through prayer.
Is Chiron always retrograde?
Chiron, a minor planet in astrology, is set to be retrograde in Aries from July 26 to December 29, 2024. Discovered in 1977, it represents our deepest wounds and our capacity to heal others. Named after the centaur Chiron from Greek mythology, it is believed to be a healer and teacher who could not heal himself. Planetary retrogrades can have significant impacts on our lives, as they can affect our ability to heal ourselves and others.
Does everyone have a Chiron sign?
Calculating your Chiron sign involves identifying your natal Chiron sign, which is the location of the planetary body at birth. This can be done by consulting a professional astrologer, using an online calculator, or consulting a table. Unlike your Sun sign, which is determined by your birth date, calculating your Chiron sign requires your time of birth, birth date, and birth location. An online calculator can also provide the degree and house of your Chiron sign. Understanding your Chiron sign can help you understand how wounds manifest in your life and enhance your healing experience.
What is the symbol of Chiron in astrology?
The symbol for the centaur Chiron, ⚷, is a combination of a key and monogram of the letters O and K, inspired by the name of the object, ‘Object Kowal’. This symbol was proposed by astrologer Al Morrison, who shared the idea with others. Robert von Heeren proposed replacing the K of the Chiron key glyph with the initial letter of the object, such as P or φ for Pholus and N for Nessus. Pluto, like Uranus, has multiple symbols in use, including a monogram of the letters PL, which was announced with the name of the new planet on May 1, 1930.
Another symbol popularized in Paul Clancy’s astrological publications is based on Pluto’s bident, which is described by Dane Rudhyar as suggesting the planetary character of the Pluto mind by the circle floating above the open cup.
What sign is Chiron in right now?
Chiron, an asteroid and comet, begins its annual retrograde on July 26, 2024, as it moves backward from Earth’s perspective due to overlapping orbits. This retrograde, which lasts until December 29, 2024, signifies that our perspective defines our life and experiences. As Chiron is positioned in the first zodiac sign of Aries since 2018, its retrograde is a reminder that our outlook determines our reality. In the cosmos, all movement remains forward, while retrogrades are real and serve as a reminder of the importance of perspective in shaping our lives.
Is Chiron a Sagittarius?
In Greek mythology, Sagittarius is often portrayed as a centaur, half human and half horse. However, there is confusion surrounding his identity due to the Greeks’ adoption of the Sumerian constellation. Some believe that Sagittarius is the centaur Chiron, son of Philyra and Cronus, who transformed into a horse to escape his jealous wife and tutor to Jason. Others believe that Chiron devised the constellations Sagittarius and Centaurus to guide the Argonauts in their quest for the Golden Fleece.
Another mythological tradition, espoused by Eratosthenes, identifies the Archer as the satyr Crotus, son of Pan, who Greeks credited with the invention of archery. According to myth, Crotus often hunted on horseback and lived among the Muses, who requested Zeus to place him in the sky to demonstrate archery. The arrow of this constellation points towards the star Antares, the “heart of the scorpion”, and Sagittarius is ready to attack if Scorpius attacks Hercules or avenge his slaying of Orion.
What planet is Chiron ruled by?
Chiron, a centaur, was the first object discovered outside the asteroid belt and is classified as a Saturn-Uranus object. Its perihelion lies in Saturn’s zone of control and its aphelion lies in Uranus’. Centaurs are not in stable orbits and will be removed by gravitational perturbation by giant planets over millions of years. Chiron likely comes from the Kuiper belt and is expected to become a short-period comet in about a million years. It reached perihelion in 1996 and aphelion in May 2021.
The visible and near-infrared spectrum of Chiron is neutral, similar to C-type asteroids and the nucleus of Halley’s Comet. The near-infrared spectrum shows the absence of water ice. Four rotational light curves from photometric observations between 1989 and 1997 provided a well-defined rotational period of 5. 918 hours with a small brightness variation, indicating a spheroidal shape.
How important is Chiron in astrology?
In astrology, Chiron represents the wounded healer within humans, urging us to confront our deepest pains and take action. It symbolizes the strength of vulnerability, encouraging us to embrace the dark spaces of our past and take action. Chiron emphasizes that individual healing is collective, as the work we do to care for ourselves ripples outward, allowing us to heal others through shared experiences. On an individual level, Chiron encourages us to confront our most difficult memories, grapple with our greatest insecurities, and expose our deepest wounds.
The celestial bodies of our solar system, including Chiron, are shown in our birth charts, helping us understand and unpack our fears, desires, and ambitions. Starting in February 2019, Chiron moved into Aries, where it will cruise through 2026, marking the first time Chiron has stepped into Aries since 1976.
📹 How to Read a Birth Chart.. in Minutes!
This video covers how to read a birth chart easily and effectively. It breaks down the most fundamental aspects of the astrology …
I have Chiron conjunct my Midheaven in Taurus. I am a medical doctor and practice integrative medicine, this path has been a constant struggle as most MD/DOs around me tends to minimize this approach and are mostly pro-pharma. In my mind, we have been limited by our medical education as there is a huge gap in our skills in terms of using a non-pharmacological approach. The pharmacological approach alone is incomplete and does not produce “health”. I feel Chiron has helped me reconcile with the struggles in my path.
38:37- story of how Chiron was wounded in the leg 49:30- the role of chiron 57:09- practical meaning of chiron 1:12:00- looking at chiron’s placements 1:14:30- her own Chiron story- Rhodesia to Zimbabwe- homeland pain. 1:18:45- any of the centaurs are portals to the realm of death 1:19:42- 1st house 1:45:50- “you can only work with what’s been burnished into your soul”
This part of the article, at the 1:58:59 minute, is so profound and well said, by Melanie Reinhart, that I’ve copied the transcript: “You know, Pluto, lord of the underworld, he’s also like the king of the Kuiper belt and the centaurs are like the agents or emissaries or even the escapees from the underworld and it’s like they are like our guides in very underworldly kind of experiences, where there might be immense suffering because we’re ill or bereaved, or because of painful things happening to those we’re really close to, whatever it is, and so, it seems to me that the centaurs are our little guides in those underworld regions. Because, normally you know we just think of, you know, Pluto, lord of the underworld, you know, dark, black, heavy contracted kind of stuff, but in pretty much all cultures who’ve got any connection still with the energies of the earth, the underworld is thought to be under the earth and it is both the realm of the dead, but it’s not like “Oh it’s the realm of the dead that’s it” It’s full of different zones like the Greek underworld has many many different zones in it, you know, Tartarus and the Elysian Fields and the place called Aornos and all different things happen in these zones. It’s not just one uniform horror, you know? And it is also very much the realm that opens up if we, for example, go into a Jungian analysis, or work deeply with our dreams and so forth. And it’s as if these little critters represent this energy of being able to handle Paradox, being able to handle dilemma in order that something deeper than the duality can come through.
Listening to this in 2024. I listened to the whole article without a break, completely in the moment, not even blinkning (well maby a couple of times 😉), because this was so incredibly interesting. This lady is absolutely wonderful to listen to, so much knowledge. And I love that you let here speak and having small pauses without interrupting 💚 so professional. Thank you 🧡
Chris, know this that you are doing a great service to the astrological community around the world. This episode gave me so much insight as all the episodes of the astrology podcast, especially as a person with Chiron conjunction North Node and Sun in the 7th Wholesign House and had the Chiron return in 2018 when I set up my own company working on astrology and family constellations. I am saving money for your Hellenistic Astrology Course, which is so exciting for me but amazingly expensive in Turkish Lira, but I will eventually. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
Chiron is at 22 degrees of Pisces in my natal chart conjunct the Moon at 23 degrees of Pisces and conjunct Saturn at 16 degrees of Pisces. Both Saturn and Chiron are retrograde in my natal chart. I was born in 1965 by emergency C-section with the umbilical cord around my neck cutting off the oxygen supply and in fetal distress as well as a breach baby coming out foot first. On February 15, 2015, my spouse died of a long term illness. I was a Registered Nurse at the time of his death. The day he died, transiting Chiron was in exact conjunction to my natal Saturn at 16 degrees of Pisces, transiting Venus was at 23 degrees of Pisces conjunct my natal Chiron at 22 degrees of Pisces, and transiting Mars was at 26 degrees 43 minutes of Pisces conjunct my natal Moon at 23 degrees 48 minutes of Pisces and also in an exact trine to my natal Sun at 26 degrees 44 minutes of Cancer. Transiting Pluto was at 14 degrees of Capricorn in exact trine to my natal Pluto at 14 degrees of Virgo which is conjunct natal Uranus at 12 degrees of Virgo. I was turning 50 years on July 18th of that year and coming into menopause. On my birthday, transiting Chiron was at 21 degrees of Pisces (my Chiron return) and retrograde. On October 13th of that year I had a mental breakdown and left my nursing career while transiting Chiron Rx was at 17 degrees of Pisces in conjunction with natal Saturn Rx at 16 degrees of Pisces opposite transiting Jupiter at 13 degrees of Virgo in conjunction to natal Pluto at 14 degrees of Virgo.
Thank you Melanie and Chris for this interesting and inspiring talk! I find Melanie’s way of speaking and her very presenece so very therapeutic (no wonder she chose Chiron as the subject of her interest and research – “in astrology you can only work with things that are burnished into your soul…”)
I am just revisiting this episode right now and it’s amazing. I just had Chiron Station literally on my Chiron so it’s not just my return, but it’s prolonged by this station and retrograde. It’s about three minutes from my exact Chiron and I have been going through a lot of deep unraveling of wounds, especially including physical injuries, which have somehow led me to wanting to do a type of healing for others. I’m also in the beginning of menopause I guess and it is a lot!.
My chiron return just cleared last year. I was a complete mess. But on the other side now and more confident than ever! I am fortunate to be aware of it as it was happening because I was much less hard on myself. I met a famous astrologer in Bali while it was retrograde and hovering at under 1º conjunct. I remember I could hardly put my thoughts into words around that time. Just a wreck in conversation and wracked with vulnerability. I was doing astrological shadow work at the time digging into my pluto and mars aspects…facing some awful stuff about myself. Since it passed, in the last year, I have overcome obstacles that I’ve had for years and years. Not vulnerable almost at all anymore and getting more and more courageous. Sure it has to dod with other things, but I do believe that the shadow work I did during chiron return made this new found confidence possible.
When Melanie said the part about there are lessons only paths of suffering can teach you, it resonated so much. My first ever astrology reading I learned about Chiron (it’s a part of my chart’s yod) and ever since I’ve also felt like I’ve been on a journey with him. This episode was so powerful and I had so many lightbulb moments. Thank you so much!
01:24:00 The idea of not just processing your own pain but also taking on a share of the rest of unprocessed pain that exists in the collective consciousness. This resonates deeeeeeeply. I used to associate this with my Pisces 12th House North Node but now I’m also weaving in my Chiron at 29 right next to my Sun at 28 Gemini. With Chiron in the final minutes of Gemini, that means I had my first chiron square at 8 and my opposition at 12. Super wild to realize those transits coincided so freaking closely to Gigantic healing initiations… like she said “great gifts brought on the back of great suffering.” Thank you both for this article – so helpful!!!!!
This is one of the best astrology discussions I’ve ever listened to, thank you Chris and Melanie! So good to go deeper with understanding Chiron. From the mythology to the astrology to the symbology, it’s all so fascinating and feels intensely relevant. Around 1:21:11 Melanie makes reference to the triad of victim, persecutor, rescuer/healer, which is reference to the Karpman Drama Triangle. Which is very apropos to the Chiron, wounded healer discussion
Ahh the Chiron return, you have all those Chiron transits a second time, and it is going over the pre cognitive life !! Retrieving and healing repressed traumas and emotions from your upbringing and within your subconscious programming. Even including pre natal, when often times you experience the traumas of your mother and her mother. A part of generational healing, a chiron theme. All focuses on trauma recovery and healing the wounded adult. The time when your subconscious forms and a place where trauma recovery really focuses on ! This is fascinating ! I can’t wait to see how people bring Chiron into healing from trauma, healing of the brain, the polyvagal theory and the Vagus nerve !!! This is so powerful 🤯☄️ With Chiron conjunct my AC. This is all apart of my life process, soul mission and the influencing energies in my life.
After 20 years of following Chiron’s lead endless coincidences-I just ended up working with actual horses this summer – by another pure coincidence. He’s been a true healer to me and he’s taught me how to be one. He’s taught me how to grow plants, be an artist, and yes, how to approach animals . He’s led me to discovering the gifts I didn’t even know I had and I’m convinced he is the reason I can now do horse massage and have the horses respond so well. I did retrain from people massage to horses, just like Ms Reinhart mentions. Also, thanks to Ms Reinhart’s articles I found Chariklo this winter and other centaurs, and I can’t thank her enough for that! It feels like I’m finally home with my “herd”. My Chiron is in Pisces, 8th house with Sun, Jupiter and Mercury. btw. and even though his return was harrowing, he also never let me crumble and I’m grateful for all of it. One last thing I do absolutely see now how Chiron has brought me to a place where forgiveness becomes a service to the larger good, like you say here. Taking on some of the others suffering when we are truly willing to do it becomes easier than we imagined, because Chiron shows us the need for it to help lessen the sum total of pain in the world.
Currently in the process of researching Chiron’s influence on the psyche and ways to integrate the wounding patterns present in the archetype using heart-centered consciousness. I saved this article when you first posted it Chris and wasn’t yet ready to digest the profound information in this talk so avoided tuning in. A lot has changed since. I am so grateful for this interview! Outstanding piece of work here ❤️
I was a licensed massage therapist and after my Chiron return I began studying astrology in earnest and became a shamanic practitioner; a health issue had made the more physical work difficult (though I’d had symptoms since I was a child, it worsened @ age 30 and has gone up and down somewhat in severity since then, and I was in a down-swing). Also, my Chiron return happened about 1 year after menopause ended, during which time I found myself reading a diary I wrote at age 13 which brought up a ton of trauma that needed to be healed. So instead of menopause, puberty was the focus; interestingly, I have Chiron 5 Pisces conjunct South Node (the past) 3 Pisces opposite Pluto 5 Virgo. I also had drifting eyes as a child and had to have an operation to prevent blindness. When I was about 5 I remember my mom turning around in the car and getting a horrified look on her face; I said, “What’s wrong Mom?” and she said, “Oh nothing, your eye just drifted.” So I was the little monster. And although I’ve been able to heal emotionally in a significant way from early childhood and later trauma, the health issue won’t budge.
I, 1961, have been interested in astrology since high school. Lots of personal confusion as a young woman in the 80’s. Metaphysically inclined, holistic, Taurus Sun 3-4th, Aquarius/Pisces rising. Nept in Scor MC. Chiron in Pisces 1st. Abused boy Aquar. Ex husband Chiron Aqu 7th. Cruel. 2003 sudden divorce and custody battle. He waged a campaign of vilification against me and my muslim Afghan college bf who came back into the picture post separation and post 9/11. I see so clearly the Chiron opposition now, and my own struggles to be a non conformist. I offered myself to help him heal….Thank you for this insight, Melanie and Chris. My astrologer said she could write a book on our charts and outcome. Child Abuse really tilts ones potential.
I’ve spent the past few weeks avidly going through your podcast whilst driving, cooking, chilling, creating etc. and I just want to say thankyou! The quality of the content, research, production, timing etc. I’m absolutely inspired. Thankyou! – Oh i’d love your take on the signs when it’s different placements e.g. moon in scorpio, sun pisces etc.
Thank you for this empowering podcast Chris and Melanie. Truly one of my favorites on your website, so far Chris. 🌱 Melanie, I very sincerely recognize the gravity and profundity of your story. My own version of paradigm bending initiation shares the unique quality and surreal measures that I’m feeling from your hints of many experiences. I am grateful to share this energetic space with someone such as yourself. 💚 My natal relatedness of Chiron places it in a tight conjunction with my MC in Aries. Chiron shares my 10th house with Aries, Taurus, & Gemini. Chiron is also in exact opposition with Uranus in Libra, sharing the fourth house with Scorpio, & Sagittarius (north node at 0 degrees ♐️). Another relevant and fascinating inquiry reveals itself with my 12th house containing Saturn in Cancer and Venus in Leo, conjunct the Asc. It’s no surprise to hear basic highlights of my life including 2 sibling suicides, my own upheavaling and exposure of toxic family patterns, and my journey with healing my own “unhealable” illnesses, as well as being an empathic healer since childhood into now, barely post initiation, as someone that integrates quantum and dimensional healing experiences in a way I can barely describe, let alone endure. However, I can as I am still here. And at 47yrs, I believe I’m inching closer and closer to refining this requirement into something much improved beyond barely holding on. As my Chiron return occurs in 4 years. Thank you again to you both.
THANK YOU for this interview, Chris & Melanie! I was born in 77 with Chiron in conjunction with my southnode in Aries. Since I was a kid I struggle with illness, that became severe in my early 20ies (I nearly died) and still is. Since I discovered astrology I am about to understand that It is on me to break this generational pattern of illness – my father and his father died early because of the same symptoms. It is a very painful journey and I often struggle with acceptance.
Thanks for that. I kinda rewatched it. I’ve got chiron at 1deg libra, with venus, mercury, ascendent, and North node in Libra. It’s very interesting that I keep telling people how to be, when I meet them, with others and primarily with themselves first, where I myself am a deep mess, and refuse to grow out of previous connections. The journey which put me on the path of meditation, healing and astrology, began with a visit to a city with a person, which I revisited after a couple of years, for my life changing meditation experiences, just because I wanted to be in that city once more, in the back of my mind, after I lost the connection with that person, lost an academic year, a third of body weight due to liver illness, and other stuff that’s too much to write here. #libra #healing #self #others I’m definitely feeling aries chiron now a days. It becomes something else when the moon visits my South node the next day. Lol
Amazing interview! She is an awesome take and talent for astrology. I am new to this so wanted to begin to learn about this. And this has helped a LOT in my understanding. Great teacher, a Great author, and a Great experience. Thanks, for asking your questions, and then keeping quiet to let her answer and say what she wanted us to hear…that is an interview talent that a lot of interviewers don’t have…thank you for this. MUCH appreciated.
I appreciate Melanie Reinhart’s insights. Thank you for bringing her on the show, Chris. My Chiron at 29 degree Aries is heavily aspected by my Scorpio stellium (0 Mercury, 3 NN, 5 Sun, 7 Uranus, 13 Mars) AND these oppositions form a t-square to my 27 Capricorn Moon. When I looked up my Chiron opposition, I see that it occurred when I started practicing Tai Chi and decided to become an Acupuncturist. ❤️
This is sublime. I am just starting to do client charts and I too, feel that the people I am coming across are perfectly timed to my skill level (mentioned by Carole taylor) and are in specific need of the wisdom I have learned in my recent life experience, often gained the hard way. What an honor it is to do this work. Thank you Melanie and thank you Chris!
ok – an update to my comment yesterday. I know that whenever I get irritated or frustrated like that, it’s usually because of something I’m not wanting to see …. and sure enough, perusal the article with Melanie really set off something about my past and with some intense dreams about stuff I’ve been working on healing. I don’t know how exactly, but it did. And it was very helpful. Fortunately Chris Brennan is a good enough interviewer to know when to let his subject just go with it, as he did here.
I had a Chiron return in 2016. That’s the same time that I went through a devastating divorce after 20 years of marriage, and I injured my knee, which is still not totally right even after surgery. The dark night of the soul totally transformed me and I can honestly say that I’m a vastly different person now. I’ve learned to love myself and others and grown in consciousness and spiritually. I’ve also come out of a difficult religion. The change is profound. I’m so grateful. Chiron is in my seventh house and in Aries. It’s also opposite Pluto in my first house.
This was an absolute revelation. I have listened twice. Chiron in 9th with ruler Neptune in 4th – homeland pain, opposite other ruler Jupiter in 10th – pain of lack of recognition – SO AFFIRMING to hear this. I haven’t understood my Chiron to date, I am a transpersonal counsellor trained in the Wounded Healer tradition (started training on my Chiron return) with Chiron conjunct Vesta. I always knew Chiron held the key for me but till this article I didn’t understand how. THANK YOU soo much.
Thank you, both of you, for a conversation about the influence and nature of Chiron. The only thing that I know about my chart, is that 1 astrologer, around the year 2000 I believe, who made a basic reading for me, told me that Chiron plays a major role in my chart and that this causes a condition where it’s hard for me to acknowledge my qualities as valuable and beautiful. That’s how far I’ve looked into this subject. I’m 69 and I wonder how much Chiron has moved me to a huge awakening process that started in 2010, my 59th year. (is that called the Saturnal year?) I’ve consciously moved from “wanting to fix it” to accept what is and be compassionate with myself in the pain of an abandonment that made the bottom from under my life fall away. With the help of a genuine energy-reader and the experience of such training since 1981, I’ve found the moment of surrender to the experience of despair, losing a harness of defence, showing off strength, combined with losing 15 kg. body-weight. The ability to find the gift, hidden in a wrapping decorated with make-belief, a deep soul-connection, delusion and abuse, all in a mix. The affinity for myself within my heart is restored now, and in that state of being, my boundaries are healthy, so that I’m able to see the suffering of others around me and honour it as the most fertile soil for them to grow new shoots from seed that is the fruit of their own moving through it in acceptance and find the gift. Both of your presences and speaking of words has helped me to realize that without knowing much about how Chiron works in my life journey, I’m able to see what the results are of Chiron’s presence in it.
So much makes sense now. Chiron conj Mc. Also a yod w Chiron/Mc, Pluto and Neptune. Have chronic illness, chronic pain, genetic condition, dysfunctional childhood, abuse, severe life changing injury and more. Am a psychic medium helping others walking the Black Road. In Native Shamanism they call the Chiron path (or similar type experiences and initiation), walking the Black Road. This was amazing, thank you both so much for doing this article. ❤️❤️❤️
Chiron is the Wounded Healer, who has a struggle that he is forever stuck with. I feel that is why there hasn’t been a massive sprout of “Chironic healers” simply due to the fact that the universe has Chiron playing its specific role. I grew up Christian and recently grew out of religion, in the Bible Paul said that everyone is born with a thorn that they cannot remove. This related to my Chiron in the 1st house. As I learned about Chiron that which what Paul said came to mind. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
1:20:57 It was developed by Stephen Karpman in 1968 and is still widely used. He defined three roles in the conflict; Persecutor, Rescuer (the one up positions) and Victim (one down position). Karpman placed these three roles on an inverted triangle and referred to them as being the three aspects, or faces of drama.5 Jul 2016 Victim, Rescuer or Persecutor? The Karpman triangle
I had my chart done and was told I had “so much” Chiron in my chart. Throughout my whole life I have been optimistic, loving, forgiving, accepting. I do speak with animals. Once I had a neighbor say to me “you can’t talk to a baby” and I felt this was completely absurd. I communicated with my infants and animals very naturally. I couldn’t understand how one could not? I am a nurse at a correctional facility but do not feel afraid. My life experiences have been traumatic, exhausting, deep betrayal and pain. Will my life ever get better? I love to help people feel better and heal their wounds, inside and out but do not know how to heal my own.
Truly insightful. I can vouch for the second pass of Chiron to a natal planet bringing old trauma to conscious awareness in late 2018 as Jupiter his ruler in my chart as it crossed the Galactic Center. Thank you Chris for your tireless dedication bring this profound knowledge to us. Thank you Melanie for your continued dedication to the centaurs. Your a beautiful lamp in the cosmological community.🌟
Chris, I have to say, I think the idea to put “sure” on a tee shirt is because it’s so perfect, functionally, when you use it. Personally, I think “Good times” would be great on an Astrology Podcast tee shirt. And my new favorite; “So, no cheat codes for Chiron?” That particular dry inflection will come along as we read the words on the tee shirt. I always get a lift from your sense of humor.
great show chris. you make it so easy for folks to download their wisdom in a way that’s easy on the ear, filling for the head and inspiring for the soul! thanks chris and melanie was of course fabulous. i have chiron in my 7th so i REALLY appreciate her sharing on this as i’m also a psychologist!!! so yea…..this resonated quite a bit for this wounded healer!! thanks all
My natal chiron is conjunct transiting Pluto, which is also conjunct the Pluto return of the chart of the US. I think my intense connection with political activism must be connected to this conjunction. For most of my life, I had no interest or knowledge in history or politics. Then bam, I hit 40 and I discovered I cared deeply about how our government needed reform to respond to the needs of the We the People. I immersed myself in learning about the political history and current events.
She’s so lovely. So inspiring. Thank you Chris for making this incredible experience available to us all. You’re our Zeitgeist of astrology in the dawn of the 21st century. I admire your respect for 20th century astrology, here in the figure of Melanie. Her work on Chiron has always inspired me, getting to know just this tiny bit of her has been really wonderful, and for that I thank you. With your work you’ve been providing for us, and for the generations to come, a very feasable portrait of the state of the art as it is in this utterly unique moment of synthesis in which we’ve been living when modern and traditional astrology meet, each acknowledging the other’s contribution to this good friend of ours, our dear Astrology. Keep up keeping up. And tell Leisa I missed her, lol. See you in the next show 🥰
Once again thanks Chris for your great work. Bought Melanie’s book over 25 years ago and loved it, and have always been fascinated by Chiron and its themes have permeated my life (probably not surprising since it sextiles Mars, Jupiter and Ascendant, trines Sun, Venus, Moon and Neptune, and opposes Pluto in my chart…)
Thank you Chris and Melanie. I enjoyed all the different doors and windows that opened into Chiron through this conversation. Uranus is currently transiting my natal Chiron (10th House Taurus) and I definitely benefitted from the anecdote about the “hidden healer” working at the hospital. Take care and see you next time 🙂
First, thanks for doing this article with Melanie. I have Chiron conjunct North Node in 7H Capricorn 24 degrees. I have Cancer AS with Uranus conjunct South Node in 1H, Scorpio 5H with Neptune (26 degrees of Libra but in 5H), Saturn, Moon, Mars, Vertex all conjunct, and my Sun, Venus, Mercury in Aqua 8H. My Venus is also combust. Pluto is in Leo 2H in direct opposition to my Sun/Venus. What helps me is my 12H Jupiter in Gemini in grand air trine with Mercury and Neptune. Needless to say, I am an empath and a healer and have been involved with astrology since a teenager (I am in my 60’s now). I am no stranger to loss. I lost my three best friends, one a year, starting when I was 17 years old and had two unsuccessful marriages. I have also had to deal with severe chronic pain from female issues until menopause and never was able to have children. I have always remembered being in my mother’s womb and my early childhood (pre-3 years). I know I am divinely protected and connected which has given me courage and strength to deal with my life path. I had a very successful career in the arts and in business. The psychologically wounded come to me out of the woodwork for healing. I have had some major successes and failures in healing others. With this latest transit of Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto in Capricorn, I finally feel more at ease with myself which has come from acceptance. I have left the hustle/bustle of the Northeast US after retirement to live in the mountains in NE Tennessee with plans to pursue my creative endeavors.
Wow! This is AMAZING! Melanie is AMAZING! I have CHIRON conjunct CERES at the end of AQUARIUS in the 10th. I’ve just checked: my Chiron RETURN is exactly when I became a professional therapist! I never set out to become one, but I had done therapeutic work voluntarily for at least 15 years before that. The professional positions came out of the blue! I’ve recently found out that I also have CHARIKLO in Aquarius (at the beginning) conjunct VESTA. I’m particularly keen to understand this better now that PLUTO has just entered AQUARIUS! Since last year (and for quite a while still) CHIRON in the mid degrees of Aries (in my 12th) is creating a powerful configuration in my chart: it’s AT THE SAME TIME making a T-square to my natal opposition between Mars in Cancer in the 3rd and Saturn in Cap in the 9th, AND a GRAND FIRE TRINE with my Natal SUN in SAG in the 8th and my natal MOON in LEO in the 4th. I feel this may be a wonderful OPPORTUNITY to HEAL so much! (particularly my Cap planets and placements who have all been through major transformations with the Pluto transit – and my Mars in Cancer).
YES, plant teachers! Thank you Ms. Reinhart, this was so amazing and so badly needed. I have Chiron in Taurus on MC, scared of the coming Uranus conjunction opposite my natal Uranus. Certain plants have been calling me but I’ve been working in the field of law miserably for years and can’t see the path from the stinging nettles at the moment.
I have Chiron in Taurus 15* as a grand cross with my sun in scorpio and north node in Leo/s node in Aquarius. Chiron is in my 7th house. Two years ago I severely injured my knee while with my partner at the time while Chiron was retrograde in Pisces… at the time of my injury, the exact time, Chiron was conjunct my partner’s sun. This the injury and the surgery that followed exposed a mental disorder that my partner had, and as soon as I could walk, I left our relationship which became significantly mentally abusive. This started a massive awakening where I am now working on curriculum and a book to help teach colleagues the way of healing I have been putting into practice for over 20 years, involving a new interpretation of 5 Element Theory. The interactions with my former partner helped inform a lot of this work. The archetype of Chiron is so fascinating and relevant to many people on Earth right now!
Thanks for a lovely interview. I really liked the part of Chiron in the 10th. House. Bc I have Chiron 1 Degree in Aries in my 10th. House (together with Saturn, Moon, Venus and My True Node). Every time I get a chance to understand an energy/archetype on it own terms, in my crowed house I am very happy, as you might understand 🙂
I have my Kyron in my 6th house in Aries. It’s part of a stellum that includes mercury and Venus along with many other asteroids. A lot of my wounds focus on the home and health problems resulting from generational trauma. I have done so much work to help myself. Understanding what happened and fighting the sick situations I found myself in. Today I am doing much better in many areas especially in regards to stopping domestic violence.
Moon is at 3 degrees Taurus and Chrion is at 5 degrees Taurus and Moon rules my 10th house. When Uranus passed over Chiron, he experienced incredible pain and has begun to heal in recent years. Now the first cycle of Chrion will take place on my Moon in 2027 and that excites me and scares me just as much.
Wonderful to hear, very thanks to Melanie Reinhart to her work with Chiron. I have Chiron conjunct Mars in the 12th house in Aries and I still feel the great range and also dangerous abyss in the enlightment to get to know Chiron as a healer. I work in a prison with mentally illl and mostly wounded male perpetrators and also biographicly often traumatically victimated imates. So I have a hopefully intuitive directon what my work might to be, thanks for that fruitful and remarkable discussion on that delicate and still not closed topic. I hope to bring the rainbow bridge to the inmates I have to take care. Sorry for my bumpy English, I come from Austria and I think and communicate in German.
When Chiron was discovered is was 3 Taurus 08. I was fascinated because I have a 3 Taurus Venus. Also, my Chiron is conjunct my North Node, by 1 degree in my 6th and as Chiron had a leg wound, in mythology, could really relate as I have had several leg wounds in this life and those placements are really strong in my chart and life. I love Astrology! Thank you for all you share!
Very much enjoyed this wonderful discussion of Chiron. It was so helpful in tieing some things together. I’ve been working on the layers for years, and look forward to Saturn going to pisces, even Jupiter to Taurus,, and esp. Pluto to Aquarius. Hopefully it’ll be a big breath of fresh air and healing for all, as we get deeper, more spontaneous healing can occur, and as humans heal individually will help each other in the process. Happy centuaring!
❤️🌹❤️ I sincerely appreciate this conversation ❤️🌹❤️ I found allot of value in the information ..wrote several pages of notes . The chrion transit in 1992 changed the course of my life . I appreciate the information . It was written in the stars ☺️ much appreciated . Loved your kindness & clarity ❤️🌹❤️
In my opinion Its imporant to understand or focus on Qurion Myth and the theme of shamanism to really understand Quiron and its deeph process in the human develoment, see the heroues journey and the connection to Apolo God…. Congratulation Chis. Melanieth is a pioneer to have another point of view of Quiron. I love her…..She´s great!
When we are young we don’t realize we are taking on the nonfunctioning scabs and armor from society’s trauma. The pain of individuating starts and branches off. I feel pushing back programming is like picking off scabs. As we age we put in more of what we want, and take away what doesn’t fit. Push back people. Then mellow with age and gain more expansive understanding of people. Thanks for the chance to contemplate.
It might have been some better for my mind, if she had let Chris talk some, to focus the discussion, and also follow some of his attempts to put this on a bit more organized track. To his credit, Chris tried! I got frustrated with her constantly jumping track and going all over. the place. That said, I really learned a lot about Chiron, which I knew nothing about. That is probably part of the frustration – this is probably a better talk for someone with a working understanding of Chiron to start from.
Great talk! In my research, Saturn/Chiron transiting midpoint, or natal midpoint aspecting another person’s Mars, Pluto or Uranus (or personal points if the victim) can indicate a severe attack or a murder. Saturn/Chiron Midpoint can indicate a murderer on a victim’s chart. It can also be a very random act that seems to happen by coincidence as in being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is one of the main determiners of a collision between two birth data charts and transits (moment in time) at a severe wounding or death.
Thank you so much for this informations and beautiful talk 🥰 I love the story and the genious heeler state of Chiron ! Now your explanations brought me a great epiphany about it. I experience now at the age of 51 my Chiron return ( 0°3′ r) in the 4th house in Aries conjunct the IC (29° Pisces). Also near Chiron I have the north node 9° and Saturn at 21° Aries. I understand now the wound of heritage and family karma. Because my family had to travel and leave the motheland for several generations. Even I had to leave my birth country with my parents.
Revisited this one because the April 30th partial eclipse that’s around 10 degrees taurus may be a great signifier for a chiron in 9 degrees taurus. Recap, chiron taurus opposite uranus scorpio T square moon Aquarius and I’m looking at the dynamics moving to whole sign with taurus 9th, scorpio 3rd, moon 6th. I probably know what chiron is doing and simply don’t pay that much attention to it or it gets my attention very much since those rulers (3rd and 9th) are in conjunction. The moon aspect is interesting because astrology may have done more damage than I’m aware of which may be why I have sudden “red flag” reactions to some of it viewing things as unethical. There’s probably a reason I stick with some astrology podcasts like this one and don’t deviate to more “new age” along with… I have stronger negative reactions to the lineage of the 60’s generation new age variations. I will acknowledge an angle with 9th subjects is practicality you’d expect with a Taurus sign there, but reactions tend to not be about any form of skepticism. The entire axis.. that may be a lot to sort through, but related to anything religious, spiritual, and philosophical there’s often a strong response if I view something as unethical. Astrology is neutral, so I can have strong reactions when it’s used ideologically. The connections with moon, especially with a mars in libra conjunct a Venus in libra; I come from 2 generations of female led households. Higher educated, higher income, etc. part of the chiron would easily be noted that I didn’t have a mother because my parents divorced when I was young, my brother and I were mostly raised by babysitters mixed with some family members until my mother shut down parental visitation at age 4 with my dad.
Thank you Melanie for sharing your story. When I was 11 years old I was playing with my brothers while living in Cairo, Egypt running down the hall and sliding into a mattress draped over the stair railing. The call for dinner came and I took my final run and slide but chose to mount the horse of the mattress at the last second. I awoke late the next afternoon in hospital not sure just what had transpired. It took many years for me to piece together this whole story. There was an electrical outage at the exact moment I had leaped onto the mattress/horse. Now as an astrologer I looked to see just where my natal Sagittarius Chiron was transiting and discovered it transiting back and forth over my ascendant at that very time frame where I was invited to be trained in some of the Egyptian mystery schools while unconscious. From that point on I seemed to have insight into matters that were not in any of my school studies. As Chiron is conjunct my natal MC, there are several healing motifs I have come to live into along both the shamanic and intwined within my astrological consultations. I too was drawn into the stream of Dane Rudhyar’s work starting in 1970 as my main mentor along the astrological path.
Chi in Tau 2nd. Ven rules Chiron. Ven in 8th in Sco conj Sat. The pain that comes through for me is abandonment. Feeling “unloved” and then (as a learned defense against future possible abandonment) steering clear from relationships/interactions that require in depth “relating”,trust or dependency .
Well, I wasn’t wrong. What an amazing conversation. I will need to listen to it again. Two quick takeaways (out of many); 1 seemingly important, the other perhaps a bit trivial … 1) What Rhinehart says about some people being largely blind, willingly, subconsciously about their ‘wounds’ … that painfully rang a bell … and I feel as if I know where to start …. and that I’ve always known on some level. 2 (the ‘trivia’) who knew that there was a Royal Homeopathic Hospital???
This is enthralling, have been reticent to acknowledge asteroids, but chiron has been shouting rather loudly, recently, he sits at 2 degrees pisces in my 10th, his ruler jupiter in the ninth, I worked for a long time in the field of clinical trials, the company’s name was quintiles. Love this episode, thanks to you both, much appreciated
Great podcast! You and the others have mentioned not paying attention to Chiron in a past podcast which really surprised me. So glad you are approaching it! Will check out the other one. I am always on the hunt for more info about Chiron but coming up short. Chiron in transit, aspect, and when in patterns/T-square etc… Transit chiron is making conjunct passes over my natal Saturn natal. Somewhere, someone mentioned health issues related to teeth could come up/can’t wait any longer…and this is exactly what is happened. The dental work is not done due to finances/coronavirus… but chiron is retrograde and will have more passes. Suddenly, dental emergencies are coming up and it can no longer be avoided. So fascinating. I am most interested in chirons effect on mental/emotional pain/issues and how following chiron might help us heal ourselves or others.
58:39 this is such a great discussion! I would love to be a part of one, as I have Chiron in 11th house Gemini, Yod Venus in 7th house Capricorn Conjunct Descendent and Mars in 5th house Scorpio. Whether it is it conjoined with Pluto and my South Node is debatable, and I would like to learn more about planet orbs, in specific these planets mentioned. I’ve learned much about each aspect in their own right, Venus in Capricorn at my descendent gets to show me first what I find beautiful, and then how best to express it, through Cancer type energy. The things I find about Mars in 5th house Scorpio is that no one really can understand the work a Mars in Scorpio does. Even more misunderstood is the 5th house aspect. Sure i may be having fun, but it is because one it is my passion and two i love it. Learning is one aspect of this whole shebang and Chiron leads the charge. He and I are great pals. ❤❤
This has been a wonderful podcast, and so enjoyable! Thank you for sharing your in-depth knowledge of the astrological meaning of Chiron. Right now, Saturn is moving toward my natal Chiron in my 6th, at 4 degrees Aquarius. The last transit to this part of my chart was during the last years of my mother’s life.
I am not a doctor, but I have Chiron in MC in Aquarius (freedom) along with the Moon and some other planets conjunct in the same house with Uranus in opposition at the other end IC (out of the box thinker); I found this is not one of the easiest placements in a chart but once it is well understood it will prompt the native to think outside of the box and figure out all sorts of alternatives. Indeed, that was exactly what I had to do in order to get myself out of the vicious spiral cycle of the conventional medical practice (that typical cycle when they send you from one specialist to another and at last, they prescribe you some synthetic medicine that has more side effects than benefits) LoL ;-P I am sure many of us may relate to that at some point or another. Hence, I decided to pursue my own personal studies and research in order to learn how to heal by myself naturally and get out of that vicious cycle of pharma/meds which was causing me more blockages and discomforts than the dis-ease in itself. Not only I have been able to heal from multiple chronic dis-eases, but I also found the way to reverse the chronicity of them in the most natural way possible. In the end, it looks like some of the so called “harsh placements” in a chart may be there to actually help us out, if we pay enough attention to them; I would call these placements “blessings in disguise” after all that’s exactly what they are to do. Most “harsh placements” are there to show us exactly what we need to pay closer attention to, and Chiron is definitely one of the main “healing Keys.
this reminds me of a passage in the Qur’an about the “stars” (heavenly bodies) that deter Satan’s agents. The idea of being located astronomically between the easily visible and the outer planets in our solar system… and her comments about the spirit world.. WOW.. it is so clear. This was a very pleasant surprise. I love her story about the ten years of Chiron transit in her chart JUST after Chiron was discovered. I listen to you every week some times I repeat but THIS has got to be a favorite Thank you
I haven’t been able to decipher the way to have Chiron heal instead of wound from my chart. He is strongly placed @ 2° ♈ 5th. I know 5th themes should be involved. I have 2° – 2°24 Venus ♑ 2nd, 2° 04🪐 ♉ 6th, 1°17 VX ♋, 2°04 Jupiter ♏ 12th. My MC/IC axis is 29° so I’m betting it’s energy is in there too. Neptune is 29° as well. 😂 I hope I get it figured out some day. Some day Mister!!!
I can relate to homeland pain. I heard the name Branka and I knew she was my people. I came to USA as refugee from Bosnia in 98. I was 15 years old and up until recently i always felt like war did not bother me. Now I know that I boxed that trauma for later to deal with. I am grateful for USA but If I am breathing I am missing my home.
Wow. I had no less than 13 Conjunctions in 2021. I have a natal Chiron in Aries conjunct an Aries Moon. Chiron transited & conjunct my moon. I spent pretty much all year in the hospital having the worse time you could imagine. It was happening in my 12th house. Such a ride. Pluto squared my Sun too and still is. Still here, holding on to my hat. 🫣😬
Thank you, I can be extremely structured. I have more air in my chart then anything else but a Virgo moon. Along with grand master Aquarius & Aries rising. You can trust. I have both wisdom & knowledge. Yeah, hard to swallow when you figure it out. Thank you exactly what I needed to hear let the journey unfold. Yes, time for me to start writing. I am so glad I was born with a mind that doesn’t forget anything. Funny I can feel energies off everything.
That was interesting. Just because serial killers came up I’ll say Skinned from Blind Melon. In my last Saturn/moon transit I was talked into listening to the new tool album and it was so bad I enjoyed other music I usually don’t. True story. I enjoyed making fun of tool fans for making me like Blind Melon out of nowhere. Suggestion since Cobain is brought up a lot; the song Soup by BM is interesting. Alright, I think I messed up listing off chiron aspects last time. Chiron in taurus in the 8th.. The generational opposition with Uranus with the T square with moon. Bi-quintile Neptune, trine Saturn, then (where I messed up) inconjunct Venus and mars. Then septile Pluto. I haven’t quite figured out my opinion on chiron and this episode may have helped me narrow it down. Venus 1st, that’s what astrology is about. Exactly what, I don’t know yet. I’m having (since I’m looking) a conjunction transit with Uranus and I couldn’t say one thing or another about anything noticeable with that, but that’s a slow outer planet and I’d have to check the actual transit start. Oh, and chiron octile MC and tri-octile AC. I already hinted at the 8th part in another comment; that’s more complicated. Specifics on chiron… I’d have to look at specific transits, but I do know my parents divorced when I was like 2-3 and this was because my dad chose a lower paying profession because it’s something he wanted to do as opposed to double the income which roots in what you’d call a negative trait of taurus about being materialistic.
I lost my Father twice.. My mother left him age 11 and then he re married and he replaced myself and my brother with step children. Then when I moved to USA from UK age 22,. Lol and returning with my husband and young children he had a terrible stomach trauma which had him to into a coma while I was flying home. 6 days later he was taken off life support. I had to deal with this with two young children and no husband because he had to leave for the USA before my father died. I too have the Triangle.
A great review thank you. I have a t square of Chiron in cap 8 th house, sun in Aries 11th cusp Taurus and Pluto in Leo in the 3rd. It is the aspect to Saturn in Ophiucus in the 6th that has me believing I need to do some healing work but is that for me or others or both? I do feel I’ve had many Chironic episodes already as I’m now 62
I am so Glad to hear her speak out on medical & big Pharmaceutical. I have worked for them. Ik I’ve went through the dark night of the soul. I’m trying come out on other side. Ik i am ready. I just keep getting so pissed off about the ppl around me. Ik how disgraceful it truly is. I keep wondering who is going to speak out on all the shooting & suicides. None of our dumb we know it’s the psychological drugs.
This is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand, however, I was wondering if it’d be possible to educate your viewers on Sidereal astrology and Tropical astrology? I personally have been feeling my identity rug be stripped from underneath my feet when I realized that I am a Gemini rising as opposed to cancer. Which one is more accurate? What if I don’t identify with the Sidereal one?
I know my posts are very personable, but I hope its can help someone else who may of had similair traumas. I am not a victim, I have done my work via Journaling and crying the hell out of my energetic body. With the Pono Pono Prayer of forgiveness too My Own Heart Chair a has helped heal my Inner Child
I have a Virgo MC conjunct Ketu. Chiron is sitting in my 7th house and I absolutely resonate with all the themes mentioned for that aspect. However, I also identify with the discussion on the reverse effect of Chiron in the 10th and running from attention as it’s all too overwhelming. Does this deal with chiron ruling Virgo or the square that forms between the points?

God created the universe. “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Colossians 2:8 “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” Deuteronomy 18:10-12 “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 19:31 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
