  • I’ve watched a lot of games where the 12 year old pitcher can’t throw a strike; walks become runs…make them earn a win with their hits. It’s very depressing to your teammates in the field when you can’t throw a strike. Not bragging but when I was 12 and pitching I could almost always throw a strike.

  • I once had a girl i coached on JV softball, she was one of our only 2 pitchers, and my niece was the other one… and this girl started the game, walked a bunch of people… let in 5 runs, i wanted to see her bounce back in the second inning… and she did, until the 7th in when we were up 6-5, she lost it again and walked to bases loaded… i went out and talked to her asking if she could slow down and just throw strikes, she said yes… then the first 2 pitches were balls….. her own father was yelling at me “put in your niece bro”…. so i put in my niece, and move my first pitcher to third, and she strikes out her and the next girl to make 2 outs, and then the next girl was down 0-2, and my niece threw 4 pitches that ALL could have and should have e been strikes. and walks in the tying run. The next girl hits a line drive to third, to the first pitcher, right to her, and she drops it… runner scores and we lose….. after the game the FATHER of the first pitch said to my niece “Shake it off gabby, you’ll do better next time”….. Like WTF my niece felt like the failure when she threw 12 strikes in a row when she absolutely had to, and then 4 very questionable balls, and then gets the last hitter to hit it directly to the third base, who drops it…. and SHE was the failure… that father essentially wanted to take his daughter out cause he lost confidence in her, and wanted somone else to be the failure… and when Gabby pitches better then i’ve ever seen her pitch, and we still lose the guy was actually happy inside that she my niece didn’t get the hero’s recognition, which she definitely earned
