Which house is good for fortune?

A birth chart can be influenced by certain houses, which are associated with financial matters. The second house is related to personal finances, the sixth to work and employment, and the tenth to career success. The eleventh house signifies gains through social connections, while the ninth suggests financial growth through higher education or travel. The fifth house relates to financial opportunities through creativity and speculation, and the eighth house is tied to shared resources and inheritances.

However, some individuals may not have favorable birth charts. To attract wealth, some astrologists suggest several remedies. First, offer water to the sun by rising early and filling a copper vessel with water, chanting the mantra. Wearing a silver ring on the right-hand finger is also believed to attract wealth and prosperity. Finally, donating food to those in need is an effective remedy, as it helps remove financial obstacles and brings good fortune, prosperity, and financial stability into one’s life.

What is the most powerful house in astrology?

The angular houses in the chart are the most powerful, while succedent houses, less powerful but more powerful than the cadent houses, have a quality similar to the angular houses. The second house, which succeeds the first house of the body and personality, signifies the things that belong to the person, while the eighth house, following the seventh house of the partner or spouse, represents the belongings of the other person. Succedent houses have a stable, unchanging, fixed quality, deriving from their central position in each quadrant of the chart.

While some houses have malefic or weak connotations, they are productive houses where matters normally take root and flourish, such as possessions or children. The second house signifies the possessions of the person or event for which the chart was cast, and this meaning has persisted unchanged for several thousand years. Modern astrologers may perceive a correspondence between the second house and the sign Taurus, but traditional astrologers did not. Hellenistic astrologers considered the second house the “Gate of Hades”, leading to the houses beneath the horizon of the chart.

Which house is rich in astrology?

The Parasari School of Hindu astrology identifies the 2nd house or bhava, which is associated with earning and accumulation of wealth, and the 5th and 9th bhavas, which are the abodes of Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth. The inter-relationship between these wealth-giving bhavas and their respective lords ensures wealth and prosperity. Planets simultaneously owning two wealth-giving bhavas become prime indicators of wealth, with the strongest indicator being the one that owns both the 2nd and 11th bhavas. Dhana yogas depend on the lord of the 2nd who determines wealth, with income being judged from the 11th, gains through speculation from the 5th, and sudden unexpected gains from the 9th bhava.

Hindu astrology considers the 2nd house as the house of accumulated wealth and the 11th as the house of gains. Dhana yogas arise when the lords of the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 11th bhavas mutually associate, but only when they connect with the lagna can more significant results be seen. Parashara has paid extraordinary attention to the 5th and 9th bhavas in Dhana yoga formations, such as Venus in the 5th in own house and Mars in the lagna, Mercury in the 5th in own house and the Moon, Mars and Jupiter in the 11th, The Sun in the 5th in Leo and the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn in the 11th, Jupiter in the 5th in own sign and Mercury situated in the 11th, Mars in the 5th in own sign and Venus in the 11th, and Moon in the 5th in own house and Saturn in the 11th.

  • Wow I have Libra and Scorpio in the 9th house. I work in psychiatry and though I prescribe medication, I’m going into functional medicine because I really think about the lack or morality in drug industry, my business, I am working on alleviating trauma so people can live the life they truly want. Both my parents were alcoholics and I understand they both had very traumatic childhoods and I don’t even want alcohol in my home. This is amazing to listen to

  • Sagittarius rules my 9th I also have Neptune here and my progressed Venus. All I will say is that I made a ‘backwards vision board’ (Instead of pictures of what I want to manifest, it was pictures of everything I had done in my life). When I looked at my board I thought ‘WOW’ I have explored a lot in my 35yrs (when I made the board a few years ago). It honestly looked like a dream vision board people would create and I wasn’t even aware that I had experienced and learnt so much and lived in so many places.

  • Wow, This was so on. I have Scorpio in the 9th. Thank you for helping me have a “deeper” understanding of this placement. I am a Pisces Rising with Jupiter, Mars and Lilith there. Gem Sun moon and Mercury, Venus in Leo, Saturn in Cancer. Neptune is in my 9th as well. You describe me to a T. It is a slow placement I have removed myself from my family and love studying the deep why of things and really looking at what makes us tick on a psychological level. I love perusal and studying people. I just moved to MEXICO to study culture and language. I moved away from all I knew and I often transform myself in life. I wanted to become a Medical Examiner as a child and still love to watch ID. I am not rich, but i am never broke. I constantly transfrom from pains and learn. It is difficult especially with my Saturn in Cancer in the 5th. I have never been marrried. NO children. The true lone wolf!!

  • Taurus in 9th… it’s the home of my Chiron conjunct MC. It is a bit of a pickle, as I nurture a family farm I took over from my grandparents. I struggled with the weight of it at first, as I felt it was restricting my expansion and growth to explore. I was tied to the land and the methods of my ancestors. Until I learned it was part of my path and then I saw it thru fresh eyes. I see how healing the spiritual arts have been for me in this way. I’ll be more widely sharing that wisdom when the time is right. 🙏 for the content!

  • Cancer in the 9th house could be about making a home in a foreign land. I know someone with this placement and he came to the US from the UK. He was always at home traveling and has lived in Japan, Russia, and other places. But he got a US citizenship. He also had a very beautiful home to come back to when he does go on a trip.

  • Hahaha I loved this. 9th house in Libra and my Venus is in Scorpio. Sagittarius Sun. I have 6 planets on the 10th house. Its definitely very deep. I think I like to dive in spirituality, different cultures, breaking down our own belief systems. Yet, still having a balance and respect for all spiritual beliefs. I think is about breaking them down & merging it together. The purpose is to find ourselves with everything that resonates. The more healing outlets we have the better we can hold ourselves in this world. We are the creators. We were born to create. We weren’t born to adapt 💗💕 in the darkness you’ll realize you are the light. 🫶🏾

  • I’m actually a Leo rising with my Pisces moon in the 9H. Thank you for this, I love the conversational aspect to this breakdown ❤ I’m such a hippy and a nomad at heart, talk all the time about turning a bus into my home and taking off! Only thing holding me back is my kiddos. I’m very musical. One of my favorite things to do is sit around with friends and play music, especially outdoors somewhere. Im spiritual and very open minded. I’ll drop now…you two were spot on!

  • I love this!! I am a Pisces Rising, Sag Sun and Taurus moon. My 9th house is Sag ( Placidus) and Scorpio ( Whole Sign) and they both apply to me. I am a Physician, Associate Professor at a Medical School, a SAFE ( Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) and studying medical astrology as a hobby—as well as being a “truth seeker.”

  • Pieces ninth house and you nailed it….I couldn’t explain those parts of myself or where they come from concerning the louder parts of my chart… It makes it really hard and I was always curious about this part of my chart. Thank you for putting this puzzle piece of my chart and self in place ❤ it totally helps me out so much

  • Virgo 9th House here. Yes, to almost all of that. I really dislike my tendency to criticise but it’s like i can’t help myself, though, even if in the end it’s always driven by my motivation to improve. What I do like on the other hand is my ability to discriminate and question everything and everyone, regardless of their status and power. My dad encouraged my inquisitive nature as long as I didn’t question him, his choices, behaviours or motives.😂

  • As a Sag rising, with the 9th house cusp in Leo, a Leo Moon, the balance of the 9th in Virgo and a Virgo Sun, I’ve been told my favourite room is the room for self-improvement. It’s important to remember that the 1st/9th being mutable will grant both teachability (life-long learners and teachers) and discernment. I grow weary of a constant emphasis on Virgo being critical. I know many Virgo Suns/risings/Mars and I find it’s more about “How does this serve?” Serve the situation, serve the occasion, serve the community. It’s about finding the purpose and assessing the readiness of the person/product/service for that purpose. It precedes Libra–the marketplace, so assessing worthiness/quality is how it serves. I acknowledge that this can lead to nit-picking and critical talk (e.g. Mars in Virgo in the 3rd house), but to continually speak of it as a core trait is misleading IMO.

  • I’m Aquarius rising, Scorpio Mercury Mars Pluto in the 9th house, Scorp Sun in the 8th house, Libra Jupiter Venus in the 8th house. What you guys said really encouraged me a lot.🥰 I am a Chinese, now in Austria.🙃I generate a lot of complaints about our national politics every day not knowing who to talk to. And my hobby is to study chinese numerology and astrology. I used to believe in Buddhism now I’m going to be baptised as a Catholic soon.😬 I have a lot of new ideas about belief systems in my head every day just don’t feel systematic yet. I will do as you guys said, even if it takes decades, I want to organise all my collected truths into a system. Love you guys!🤗❤ Thanks a lot!🧡💛💚

  • Taurus in 9 with a tiny bit of Aries. My Venus is in Gemini. My planets in the 9th are Jupiter and Mercury. And My Chiron is in Tauras at 0 degree in the 9 House. I have had monumental upheaval in my belief system. I started a devoted life to Mormonism at age 14. Left it when I was around 35. I had a lot of experiences as a child at going to a lot of different Christian sects. I lost my Faith in all religion and spirituality in 2009. What sparked hope in me again was a show on TLC—Long Island Medium. I started to read a lot of NDE’s and looked for my own inner truths. Eventually I found Astrology and I get a bit obsessed with it. I wish everyone loved it as much as I do. Lol.

  • Gemini and taurus in the 9th house omg youve called me out. I love finding things out ive been curious my entire life about everything. I also did a history degree and was going to become a teacher, i know ive got what it takes but i dont want to teach in schools because i feel ill be restricted in what i can teach.

  • My 9th House “saves” my extreme, harsh chart! 😄 Jupiter in Taurus here, also Moon in Gemini. (4 planet Sun conjunction in Virgo 12th.) Liberal Arts right through doctoral program, Medieval/Renaissance lit & history. Love world travel! My Venus is in 10th, and I use my education in writing novels. Gemini–yes, I hope to publish! Writer and communicator are my strengths.

  • I have Scorpio in the 9th and I am not a millionaire yet but I am a small business owner. I am always looking deep into subjects so this right very true! Definitely, hit the nail on the head with transforming my life and children’s coming from chaotic and violent upbringing to mow living a very calm and harmonious home. I always thought this had to do with my Libra Sun in the 8th…?

  • My 9th house is Capricorn with Jupiter and Saturn there. I had a spontaneous Shaktipat experience when I was young. I tried to get help then but no one knew, so I struggle with spiritual organizations and their politics. I practice meditation and physical yoga. I suppose I respect zen and shamanism .💁‍♀️

  • Thanks for this Meredith and Connie! I have Taurus and Venus in the 9th house with Leo rising. I guess that extra bit of fire from my ascendant makes me lean more toward taking risks, like quitting a stable job to stay in a foreign country longer because I feel connected to it (eye roll!). Your insights have really helped me understand and accept myself.

  • My sun is in Gemini 0 degrees in the 10th with mars and Mercury in Gemini and then Venus Saturn and Jupiter in Taurus in the ninth house . Just recently realized what it means to have an earth grand trine and leo in 12. I was raised to do things by the “book” and I like to do things efficiently but I’m also not opposed to “short cuts”. My family wasn’t supportive of my spiritual interests and there was just a general feeling of not fitting. My mother is not adventurous about food at all. My mother is a Taurus and my father is a gemini. I”m the black sheep for sure and im learning to use that instend of staying in my hurts even if it is still unfair. I am obsessed with fashion. Architecture mixed with innovation, great Tailoring, and color, just delicious. I also feel very drawn to myth all my life. The recent resurgence in goddess/magical universal information is so delightful. Venus conjunct sun. Venus conjunct jup and sat. Uranus squaring all three. The generational planets are prominent.

  • LOL. 9th House with Sun, Mercury, Mars (nearing the 10th House in Cancer) AND Chiron. Basically, I have a stellium in the 9th House in, get this, the sign of Gemini! Education and learning have been the cornerstones of my existence. When I was in grade school, I used to tell my seat buddy on the school bus a DIFFERENT made-up story EVERY single day on our way to school for upwards of 3 years. Psychotic, I know. I was a serial storyteller. While I think I have mellowed in many parts and aspects of my life, I would still say (pun intended), that I am a much more gifted speaker than I am a listener.

  • I have Taurus in the 9h natal with Jupiter,Lilith, lunar eclipse, south node. My Venus is in the 6 house of Aquarius. My progressed 9th house is Gemini &cancer, but I only have vesta in cancer of the 9th house. My whole life has centered all about my beliefs and higher wisdom learning. My purpose is to change my family way of thinking. You are so right about the garden aspect because doing a herb garden real soon. I am hoping to marry my fiancé of a different culture and religion beliefs real soon.

  • I have Scorpio and Sag in the 9th with Uranus in Scorpio. My Pluto is in the 8th. I LOVE mystery and crime novels. I am also fascinated about human psychology but also dogs’ and horse‘s psychology (Cancer in the 6th 😅) On top I love traveling, especially off the beaten track and enjoy staying in a place longer so that I can experience it fully. I work as a freelance user experience designer, diving deep into how people think and how they use technology. Anything superficial in this field of work drives me mad! It‘s a hill I am willing to die on 😂 But I want to transition to teaching it or becoming an astrologer. Not rich yet but I am good at earning money. I am learning to make better choices and how to keep my Venus in Aries from making impulsive buying decisions 😅 Ending generational trauma resonated as well. I grew up with a narcissistic mother. I am 43 and have only learned about this as well as the effect it has had on me about 5 years ago. It‘s been a long journey of healing this trauma. I don‘t have kids yet so this might be my way of ending this direct line of generational trauma.

  • Just subscribed….I see this topic was a month ago….but I’ll comment anyway…I’m a Gemini Sun…with my Sun..in the 9th house..as well as Cancer in Mercury…..I am a Libera rising…..I live Astorology and have been learning most of my life about it…I’ve loved to travel…but not abroad…just USA..Canada…Mexico…n part of the Caribbean…YES…had such a curiosity…now I’m 64…and people think I’m 45–47 yrs old…so I guess you’re right about the combo..gives you youth!!!

  • At 1:08:44, I have 9th house in Pisces (placidus) this is exactly what I said to my scorpio moon friend who would get a new dog everytime one of his dog would die, he’s had dogs since he was a child so for him growing with dogs and them dying after years is totally normal but I told him I could never recover from the pain I’d feel if my dog died and I could never get another pet just to experience that again.

  • My 9th is in ♏️ and ♐️, and Neptune is on the cusp, Mercury is in Sag in the 9th but near the cusp of the 10th. I love archeology, psychology, Dostoevskij is my favorite writer (Scorpio), I can’t stand superficiality, gossip, chit chat, I love everything deep, and obviously Astrology, which encompasses all kind of Knowledge. 😂🎉🎉🎉

  • Scorpio & Sag in my 9th House: (Sag MC). I have Juno in ♏️ in my 9th H so I have always thought my ideal partner or soulmate is an Indiana Jones type, worldly, bilingual or multilingual, curious about the world and adventurous. I have my Jupiter in my 3rd opposite Juno in the 9th, so I really think that’s a big clue to my future life partner. (Plus Leo Descendant) I am in a PhD program and I’m interdisciplinary, meaning multiple fields. I have a master’s degree that’s interdisciplinary, too. It’s a mix of all of the 9th House themes, law & policy, environmental science, marine biology, ecology, philosophy, literature, etc. My PhD involves folklore studies, literature, ecology and policy, which are all 9th House fields. I love deep research analysis and solving previously unsolved mysteries! I have a packed 8th House, too. But my 9th & 3rd Houses aren’t very big. My 9th starts at 17°♏️and MC at 10°♐️

  • I have Taurus here with no planets, just Lilith. I wanted the family traditions, but my mom, whose sun was Taurus, wasn’t interested. My grandmother healed with herbs and a lot of Cherokee things. My mom wasn’t interested at all. I am not athetic. I do swim and ride horses. I am eclectic. I love cultural foods and customs. My Venus is Pisces in the 7th house. I work on myself all the time and I love sharing what I’ve learned.

  • Jupiter in Taurus in 9th. Venus conjunct Mars in Taurus in 8th. I’m a pianist, vocal coach, accompanist. Born in USA of Ukrainian parents, living in Germany since 1978. Fluent in 3 languages, not bad in 2 others. Ex-husband German. One son also has Jupiter and Sun in Taurus in the 9th. Venus 29° in Gemini in 10th . He’s a fabulous cook, especially Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, mattress d at a noble restaurant, also now in charge of the wines, as he is connoisseur…married a Greek-Canadian opera singer…. If that’s not all Jupiter in the 9th!!!!

  • I have a split Capricorn/Aqaurius 9th. MC in the 9th in Capricorn. Chiron at other end of house in Aquarius so some of the Capricorn analysis didn’t really fit. I was challenging religious ‘truths’ as a young child. Yes, my father was a ‘big’ man but claimed to be an atheist! I am a Sag (4 planets including sun) so I am (and have always been) a spiritual seeker.

  • 😂😂 Aquarius & pisces on the 9th house. Laughing at Connie “am i a starseed” “is there life on other planets”… literally me!! And yep still waiting to be abducted by alien’s lol. Gemini rising and Sagg moon here ❤️‍🔥 also relate to everything you said about pisces, love music to the max and learning the arts!! AHHH LOVE THIS SERIES looking forward to the the 8th house 😈 thank you grateful for you guyssss

  • Natal moon in Libra in the 9th 13 degrees. Capricorn rising 1st house, 8th degrees. Currently working close to law lol writing policy in the Senate. I also do and engage in foreign and national security policy communities and negotiations. Only bipartisan, by the way. I don’t play about order and equity. I’ve also lived and traveled abroad extensively. Scorpio MC, keep my views to myself to maintain fairness lol. And random but the ceilings of the senate hearing rooms have the 12 Zodiac signs painted on them, I smile when I see them and I am using astrology for cities and countries astrology when I approach aspects my work in private.

  • My ninth house is taurus and Gemini but all I have there is my part of fortune in taurus, my Venus is Aries in my 7th house. Virgo ascendant-Aries Sun-Capricorn Moon, I want to be a part time nomad starting in January, I’m hoping nothing gets in my way this year, I’m a year late, but with Jupiter and Uranus in my 9th I’m hoping all goes better than well ! 😊

  • I’m having a 9th House profection year starting the 8th of October, it’s in Leo, up to now, life has been miserable, hopefully it will take a turn for the better, I’m a long haul trucker and I hate it now because i drive team, so I’m wondering what this will mean, I have no planets in the 9th, so thanks

  • Scorpio & Sagittarius on the 9th. No I would never be a mortician 😂 but I love to study human nature, serial killers, psychopathy. I could have been a good detective. I’m not rich yet. I’m a respected and loved teacher, yes, and yes too much to learn and not enough time. Dreamed to dance in Broadway, coming from a small town in France, kind of a big dream but made it. Yes, transformed my believes raised with a narcissist mother & brother. Wow, Meredith & Connie, you are phenomenal ❤️ 💙 💜

  • I have Taurus in Venus in the 9th house. I don’t know if I feel the 9th house energy. I guess when it comes to relationships and partnerships I do want to follow a certain methodology or belief about what relationships mean to me. But I hate routine. I hate rules. I honestly don’t like to follow the rules. Lolol So maybe I am more 9th house than I thought.

  • i listen to all the masters of this age religiously searching for answers and method. no one has been able to show or convince me anything that sticks. • I have Taurus ascendant Mercury in the ninth. Was thinking of doing law but went into psychology. I’ve now opened my own mind and body spa working with massage therapists and Facialist while I life coach and now planning to open a massage school. I have rahu in the 11th Sun conjunct Venus in the 10th.

  • Interesting: I have lived abroad for 6 years and now I move back to my home country. I got a good job there. It is a one year deal but might turn become longer. I was thinking about my charts, because not only one, but many aspects indicate that my future and wealth is ABROAD. If I have made the right conclusions. For example, the lords of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 11th and 12th are in my 9th house! My 9th house itself represents the 12th house – Pisces. However, my FEELINg is now that I am going abroad to my own country, because I have felt so good where I am now, it feels like home to me. 🙂 I am an alien in my own country. Oh, my sister (younger than me) is married to a foreign man. Astrology tells everything.

  • THANK YOU so very much!! Your knowledge and humorous infinite connections between astrology and aspects of our mundane life experiences are absolutely amazing !!! • This is so interesting going back to school in the spring, i moved 6 years ago, I’ve been able to travel a lot at a young age, few years ago I went to Sedona I’ll never forget it, it was so spiritual and magical I didn’t want to leave I felt so at peace, sad I haven’t been back since but I most definitely make it my duty to go back !

  • Can the 9th house represent a personal trainer on the gym? I’m trying to figure out some things about my future spouse and I have a theory. I have my Jupiter in Virgo in the 12th house, the house of losses, and Virgo is the sign of health (6th house), so I thought that I could met my husband on the gym, which is a place where we lose our energy, people lose fat there. Also my Jupitarian placements are 3rd house Sag and 6th house Pisces, again the house of health and routine. Also, I have Aries in the 7th house, so 7th house Lord – Mars is placed in the 9th house in Gemini. My theory is that my future husband can be a trainer from my gym, but I’m not sure. I can also say that this person uses media like the Internet to proclaim healthy lifestyle, he’s a model and an actor either. What do you think about this, Kapiel?

  • Amazing. Makes so much sense. I really appreciate how deep you dive into explaining and giving so many different examples and factors. I’m a 0.2 degree Libra rising so I will be experiencing the upcoming solar eclipse on June 10th in my natal 9th house with my natal Chiron there. Only Gemini placement I have in my chart. This should be interesting, to say the least? 🙏🏻✨❤️ Brushing up on my 9th house knowledge right now, ha!

  • How many people has planets in 9th house and never travel or never study at the university? how many people don´t have planets in 9th house and did both? so what´s the real meaning of the houses without say just separate things, like this house means animales, this one family, 10th house is your career while many people has no career and still having 10th house, please explain the main meaning to say that because if not it doesn´t make any sense at all, why the 9th house means all that u´ve just said, which energy is working there, what element, what´s the ruler normally there, whats the arquetype of that ruler??

  • i have my sun, mercury, jupiter and MC (virgo) in the 9th house… i’m trying to connect the pieces and understand what this truly means for me but i’m pretty amateur lol. i’m also trying to synthesise this with my libra venus in the 10th and taurus NN in the 5th to figure out the fundamentals of the ideal vocation/career that will best fulfil my life path but… it’s all so nuanced and i’m struggling lol. i never know if what i’m inferring is correct but i’ll get there lol. this was super helpful!

  • Hi KRS I just subscribed. Can I please ask you: Does Lilith in the 9th house mean I am not supposed to work / earn money / live my life in a foreign land? Other than the one I was born in? I have both Jupiter and Lilith in the 9th house. Can you pls pls tell me what you interpret this to be – I have lived in a foreign country for the last 23 years and I am ok here. I don’t want to move. Do you think I have to? Can I earn good money here in a foreign country with Lilith in the 9th house?
