Astrology has its roots in the earliest civilizations, with maps of the stars dating back to the 3rd millennium BC. Archaeologists have discovered cave paintings, mammoth tusks, and bones marked with lunar p. The oldest known horoscope interpretation dates from 410 BCE. Astronomers like Hipparchus and Ptolemy continued to develop ideas.
The origins of the zodiac wheel, the horoscope, and the birth chart can be traced back to ancient civilizations. By the first century BC, two varieties of astrology were in existence: one that required reading horoscopes for accurate details about the past, present, and future, and the other that focused on understanding the zodiac signs.
Babylonian astrology is the earliest recorded organized system of astrology, originating in the 2nd millennium BC. The oldest written sources to astrology date from 2,300 BC, but individual horoscopes didn’t appear until 650 BC. The 12 zodiac signs appeared in different periods, including Gemini (6450 BCE, 4300 BCE), Taurus (4300 BCE, 2150 BCE), Aries (2150 BCE, 1 CE), and Pisces (1 CE, 2150 CE).
The practice of astrology first originated in ancient Mesopotamia and spread to India before developing its Western form in Greek civilization during the Hellenistic period. The oldest horoscope in the world holds secrets that have transcended time and are related to every action we take today.
Throughout history, astrology was considered an academic discipline across much of Eurasia up until the 17th century.

Are we in the age of Pisces or Aquarius?
Astrologers generally believe that the Age of Pisces began around 200, indicating the beginning of the Age of Aquarius in the next few hundred years. The Age of Aquarius is referred to as the dawning of the planets and stars, as described in the popular song “Hair” by American band “The Fifth Dimension”. This transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius is expected to continue in the coming years.
When was the zodiac first created?
The zodiac, a system of stars, originated in Babylonian astronomy during the first half of the 1st millennium BC. It was based on stars from earlier Babylonian star catalogues, such as the MUL. APIN catalogue, which was compiled around 1000 BC. Some constellations can be traced back to Bronze Age sources, such as Gemini “The Twins” and Cancer “The Crab”. Around the end of the fifth century BC, Babylonian astronomers divided the ecliptic into 12 equal “signs”, each containing 30° of celestial longitude, creating the first known celestial coordinate system.
The zodiac was introduced between 409 and 398 BC, during Persian rule, and probably within a few years of 401 BC. Babylonian astronomers fixed the zodiac in relation to stars, placing the beginning of Cancer at the “Rear Twin Star” (β Geminorum) and the beginning of Aquarius at the “Rear Star of the Goat-Fish” (δ Capricorni). The time of year the Sun is in a given constellation has changed since Babylonian times due to the precession of the equinoxes.

When did horoscopes start?
The Silk Roads played a significant role in cultural exchange and the development of various scientific disciplines, including medicine, mathematics, geography, cartography, and astronomy. Astrology, a broad field concerned with the search for meaning and predictive information in the sky, was one such discipline that was widely accepted in political and cultural circles.
During the Tang (705-907 CE) period, foreign systems of astrology were adopted in China, particularly the practice of ‘horoscopy’, predictions made by an astrologer based on the position of the sun at the time of a person’s birth or the calendar significance of an event. Astrology often acted as a medium of transmission of other knowledge bases, predominantly from Indo-Iranian sources, especially within astronomy and the close mathematical observation of stars and planets.
Indian astrology was often introduced into new regions of Central Asia, the Iranian Plateau, and China alongside the introduction of Buddhism, another significant shared legacy of these trade routes. Early Islamic astrologers included numerous Indian theories in their works, most of which reached them via texts written in Middle Persian during a time when direct translations into Arabic of many scientific texts from Ancient Greek and Indian sources were made.
In Medieval Central Asia, two distinct versions of the discipline emerged: one focused on mathematical theories and precise astronomical measurements, and the other on the interpretation of magical elements to make predictions. Al-Biruni, a polymath, differentiated astrology from astronomy, arguing that the former was more of an art or practice and criticizing its weak mathematical and scientific foundations. He also emphasized his theory that astrology is not a science through analysis of astrological doctrines from Ancient Greece, the Indian subcontinent, the Iranian Plateau, and Central Asian regions.
What is the oldest zodiac signs?
Pisces, the Latin word for “fishes”, is one of the earliest zodiac signs, appearing as far back as 2300 BC on an Egyptian coffin lid. It is the twelfth and final astrological sign in the zodiac, spanning 330° to 360° of celestial longitude. Under the tropical zodiac, the sun transits this area between February 19 and March 20. The symbol of the fish is derived from the ichthyocentaurs, who aided Aphrodite when she was born from the sea. Some tropical astrologers believe the current astrological age is the Age of Pisces, while others maintain it is the Age of Aquarius.
What is the oldest horoscope?
Astrology has been a significant cultural tradition for centuries, with various cultures including the Indians, Chinese, and Maya developing elaborate systems for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations. The Old Babylonian period of Mesopotamia saw the practice of astrology, with Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa being one of the earliest known Hindu texts on astronomy and astrology. Chinese astrology was elaborated in the Zhou dynasty, and Hellenistic astrology after 332 BCE mixed Babylonian astrology with Egyptian Decanic astrology in Alexandria. Alexander the Great’s conquest of Asia allowed astrology to spread to Ancient Greece and Rome, where it was associated with “Challean wisdom”.
After the conquest of Alexandria in the 7th century, astrology was taken up by Islamic scholars, and Hellenistic texts were translated into Arabic and Persian. In the 12th century, Arabic texts were imported to Europe and translated into Latin. Major astronomers like Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler, and Galileo practiced as court astrologers. Astrological references also appear in literature, with poets like Dante Alighieri and Geoffrey Chaucer and playwrights like Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare.
Astrology was considered a scholarly tradition, accepted in political and academic contexts, and connected with other studies such as astronomy, alchemy, meteorology, and medicine. However, new scientific concepts in astronomy and physics called astrology into question, leading to its decline in academic and theoretical standing.
How old is the oldest star chart?
The oldest known star charts date back to ancient Egyptian astronomy in 1534 BC. The earliest known star catalogues were compiled by Mesopotamian astronomers during the Kassite Period in the late 2nd millennium BC. Chinese astronomy records date back to the Warring States period (476–221 BC), with the earliest preserved catalogues found in the 2nd-century BC Shiji by Western Han historian Sima Qian. The oldest Chinese graphical representation of the night sky is a lacquerware box from the 5th-century BC Tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng, which shows the positions of the Chinese constellations by name.
The Farnese Atlas, a 2nd-century AD Roman copy of a Hellenistic era Greek statue, is the oldest surviving depiction of the ancient Greek constellations. It includes grid circles that provide coordinate positions and is the oldest surviving representation of the ancient Greek constellations. The constellations were catalogued at 125 ± 55 BC, indicating that the star catalogue of 2nd-century BC Greek astronomer Hipparchus was used.
A Roman era example of a graphical representation of the night sky is the Ptolemaic Egyptian Dendera zodiac, dating from 50 BC. This bas relief sculpting depicts the zodiac in graphical representations, but individual stars are not plotted.
What is the 1st rarest zodiac?
Ophiuchus, the ‘Serpent-bearer’, is sometimes suggested in sidereal astrology as a 13th astrological sign in addition to the 12 signs of the tropical zodiac. The constellation Ophiuchus is located behind the Sun from November 29 to December 18. The idea of a 13-sign zodiac originated in 1970 with Steven Schmidt’s suggestion of a 14-sign zodiac, including Cetus as a sign. Walter Berg and Mark Yazaki promulgated a 13-sign zodiac in 1995, which gained popularity in Japan, where Ophiuchus is known as Hebitsukai-za.
However, in sidereal and tropical astrology, a 12-sign zodiac is based on dividing the ecliptic into 12 equal parts, rather than the IAU constellation boundaries. Astrological signs do not correspond to their namesakes, especially in the tropical system where divisions are fixed relative to the equinox.

This mesage is from Vedic people of India. Kali Yuga and Mother Kaali are different things. Kaliyuga is the age of four Yuga period which is 1/10 part of complete cycle. It is the period of low Human intution, mind full of lust of gold and women. Mother Kaali is the mother of universe. So as said by Vedas the universe born out from Darkness and will return to the Darkness. She is the Energy of Lord Shiva also his wife in spiritual plane. It is said from Vedas only Shiva and Shakti are reality all else is illusion which appears real to our eyes. It is Shiva (The consciousness ) which divides himself with the help of Mother Shakti or Kaali. When Kaali gets settled then she becomes Shakti or Durga which is the energy menifestation in material form. Shiva is the Space around all objects in and out. They both are eternal, calm, infinte, omni present, Omni potent, all pervading. In the end of creation both Shiva and Shakti become one that One true God is called Par Brammh (Brahman). So Please understand kali is age of yuga but mother Kaali is the end of times.
I feel we are declining fast in society. I’ve had dreams of end of the world type events. And I feel a deep unrest in my soul when I ponder on the state of the world. My heart mourns for nature, and how we treat it, how we treat eachother. The most prominent dream I had was how time speeds up and then all of a sudden we are in a great depression, but it is worse than the last depression. In this dream, I and a small group gathered canned food and medicine. Disinfectant will be important. As well as this I have had dreams of big weather events, and I believe this one was more a symbolism- but a dream of a flood, that whipes out all that is dark and resets the balance of the earth. All those who were in the darkness were gone with the flood. I had a dream of the future past all the darkness as well, where great grandchildren will rise up to rebuild society correctly and begin the true rise of the age of Aquarius. I think where we are, is on the cusp of the declining golden age and the new dawn, but we may see some terrible events. But the main message I always got in my dreams from the universe/ spirit was do not be afraid, we are all in this together, and we are all held lovingly by the universe.
I am Gemini and often Wonder what the world was like during the age of Gemini…. Pieces was an age of Patriarchy, i do believe coming age of Aquarius is feminine and is a Matriarchy, my point I Bet in the age of Gemini was a time when the world was lead by both sexes,,,,does anyone have any input on my theory
