Magic was a supernatural force that fundamentally altered the world, with its ability to be practiced as a hereditary trait passed down through ancestors. Witches and wizards were able to use magic in unique and creative ways, which Muggle science could not replicate. For instance, vanishment did not make objects cease to exist, but rather went into non-being, consistent with the law of conservation of matter and energy. Magic also followed its own rules, such as juicidal objects only existing for a temporary period and objects cannot be enlarged beyond a certain point without becoming unstable or exploding.
The basic concepts of magic were simple, but the inherent power and potential for misuse were great. To refine their craft and learn the art and responsibility of their power, promising young witches and wizards were sent to schools like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There, they learned various magical specialities, general theory, and the history of magic in their world.

Professor Snape, a former follower of Voldemort, taught Harry the spell during Professor Lockhart’s Duelling Club. Despite initially struggling with the Summoning Charm, Harry quickly developed an aptitude for Expelliarmus, which allowed him to use it in challenging situations.
Within months of learning it, Harry used it to retrieve Riddle’s diary from Malfoy and disarm Lockhart. He spent the final hours of the second year practicing Expelliarmus, becoming very good in the process. This relationship between Harry and Expelliarmus has both positive and negative aspects.

What is the secret spell in Harry Potter?
The Fidelius Charm is an ancient enchantment that involves concealing information within a living person. The chosen person, or Secret Keeper, is the only one capable of revealing the protected information to others. If the Secret Keeper shares the information, the person to whom they have confided will be bound by the Fidelius Charm, making it impossible to pass it on. However, the Charm has its weaknesses. If the Secret Keeper wishes to divulge the information, it must be given voluntarily, and if the Secret Keeper dies, anyone to whom they have confided will become a Secret Keeper.
Being a Secret Keeper is a dangerous position, as it is a serious and binding enchantment that few would undertake lightly. Despite the secret being voluntarily given up, many have been subjected to the Imperius and Cruciatus Curses to force them to share their information.

Ancient magic, a mysterious and powerful form of magic, was largely forgotten in the wizarding world by the late 19th century. What magic killed Voldemort?
The Killing Curse, a curse used by Voldemort, is not a physical weapon that causes physical damage to its victims. It is not a curse that leaves any physical damage on the bodies, as it does not cause any physical injury. In the book, Pius Thicknesse is killed by Voldemort after he interrupts his concentration on his Horcrux Ravenclaw’s Diadem. Ron Weasley casts a green spell to kill Voldemort’s snake Nagini, but it is unclear if this was the Killing Curse used against Nagini.
When Harry surrenders to Voldemort and is hit with the curse, Voldemort simultaneously destroys the Horcrux in his body. However, it is possible that Ron did attempt the curse but lacked the power and will to make it effective. Additionally, the fragment of Voldemort’s soul in Harry was only destroyed by the Killing Curse, as he was an accidental Horcrux and lacked the additional enchantments that gave other Horcruxes their invulnerability.
The Killing Curse rebounds on Voldemort during his duel with Harry, causing his hand to turn black and spread through his body, leading to his death. The rebounding Killing Curse affects Voldemort by disintegrating into ashes instead of leaving his physical body dead.
In the film, Vinda Rosier fires green spells at the mother Qilin, but the screenplay describes the attack as “firing SPELLS, flaying the mother Qilin’s hide”. The screenplay is higher canon in the films, so even if Rosier’s green spells are considered Killing Curses, they cannot be considered canonical appearances. The Killing Curse also causes instantaneous death without multiple uses.

In the Harry Potter series, the spell Riddikulus is employed to vanquish Boggarts. This is achieved by compelling the caster to conceptualize a comical notion. This strategy, which exploits fear, overcomes Boggarts by prompting them to assume the shape that is imagined.
