I’m so glad I got to do Disney when families could afford to go. Sad that so many will never get to go since for just one day would be over $700 for a family of 4 not counting price of food, parking and a souvenir. I’d guess $1000 minimum for one park in one day. I’m not sure how long people will continue to support this madness, but I won’t be one of them.
Very cool riding Barn Stormer. We rode that as a family very late at night during extra hours when they first built. There wasn’t a line then either. My kids were 7 and 2. Thanks for bringing back a fond memory by riding that. Since you are riding the carousel, I have always thought that they needed the actual horses on there from the movies like: Khan from Mulan, Major and the mice turned to horses from Cinderella, Achilles, Maximus from Tangled, Black Beauty, Angus from Brave, Sampson from Sleeping Beauty, Captain from 101 Dalmatians, Pegasus from Hercules, Phillipe in Beauty and the Beast or maybe even the headless horseman’s horse! I was surprised when I first visited that the horses were not replicas of the horses that have been on the Disney movies. That is just my 2 cents about “Imagineering.” I know I am over the top but that sounds like my dream carousel right there. We kept our ponchos because you can let them hang dry and use them over and over.
HACK for non pass holders. The first week in December are lower crowds, we got tickets to Jollywood nights and very merry Christmas party instead of normal day park tickets. We did not do any of the Christmas themed shows. Instead, we had all of Star Wars and Toy story land all to ourselves while everyone was in the shows at Jolly nights, and while the fireworks are going on at very merry Christmas party, everything in the back of the park is a walk on also, it’s not hot that time of the year.

Adam, you need to get yourself the full rain gear. As a 12 year mail carrier it’s so nice to walk in the rain with the full gear as long as it’s not high wind, then don’t go out at all. Get the pants,shoes and a hat too. If I had a pass there I’d grab that gear and go for sure. Since you live there you need it.
A couple of observations. Number one the iPhone is killing it when it comes to audio and article. You should use it more often. I guess the second one is not an observation. But that’s $1000 phone you might as well get some good use out of it. I currently use an iPhone 13 and I’m thinking about getting that iPhone 15 for sure. You started off recording your articles on an iPhone so it’s kinda like going back to your roots. Retro style!
Funny how people with annual passes and such still have restrictions. There ought to be a pass they sell, maybe $50,000 per pass, where you can just walk in, any time, do any ride. Even when the parks are closed or overnight — no problem. You get to go in. “The Next Best Thing To Owning the Joint!” would be the sales pitch for it.
me and my buddies ditched school one rainy day back in the ancient 90’s, I think it was 1991, we spent the day at Disneyland, nobody was at the park really, that was the best part, the worst part was, all rides that were exposed to the rain were shut down.. including Tom Sawyer Island .. so it was kind of a drag .. but still an interesting experience .. glad to see your up to speed Adam, even if it is 33 years later .. and FYI California Adventure was still the parking lot back then . bitchin .!!!! .
Days like this is what my family and I long for. Days of storms, threats of hurricanes……..we are happy to make a day or two trip from Jax to relish these times when the parks are deserted. Only other times you can get it like that is After Hours, and sometimes its not even this good. Happy you were able to go and enjoy yourself!
I Was an {18} Year Resident of Clearwater / St Petersburg and Got a MUCH Better Deal at Busch Gardens! Years Pass w/ Parking Was $174.00 and They Had a Wristband You Could Buy for $30.00 and EAT at ANY Restaurant in the Park – Every Hour .. On the Hour … I Would Go on My Day Off from Work / Wednesdays … Some Wednesdays LESS Than 5,000 in the Whole Park … NO Waiting Anywhere!
A non-local nuclear family (2 adults, 2 children), 2-day, park hopping tickets will cost around $1,700 (I assume any other deals, may bring this price down). Add in lodging, food, souvenirs, whatever internal and external expenses. Not sure how lower income families can enjoy the Disney magic? Even families who can afford it, might second guess whether to pay that much for very short term gratification.
I live 15 minutes from Disneyland. I used to go multiple times a year, never planned or saved for it. I cannot afford to go anymore. It is really sad. Fortunately, Knotts Berry Farm is an affordable and equally fun alternative. But I would love to go to Disneyland sometimes. If they bring back Splash Mountain and bring back reasonable prices without reservations, and get rid of extra cost of Genie Plus I will be there.
As miserable as that might be, going around in the rain to experience WDW, it sure would be fun to do just once, so you could see the park in all its glory! I would take full advantage of that for sure! I do wonder why some rides were not open, when rides that are similar in design, I.e. roller coasters, should all be running. Just curious. Sometimes walking in the rain, especially in a theme park, can be very relaxing. I don’t know why, but that’s my thinking. 😊
9:49,🐘remember seeing a friend fly off a wet Dumbo back in the late 90’s & they stopped the ride,he just wanted to get back on it & wasn’t hurt,he did get back on it after Disney medical & security responsed,they ended up giving him a bunch of free park entrance passes,was a win win for both,he isn’t the sue the park type
That was great. I like how you took a rainy night and made the best of it. It is interesting, some of those attractions you went on are the ones we skip on nice days because sometimes we feel they are not worth the wait times. It is cool to see you can just enjoy them all. Plus smart move using the cell phone. Cameras plus water are bad things, we know our article camera plus Disneyland Splash Mountain in 2019 was a bad idea. We did not know just how wet you got on that version.
I recently went to Disneyland on a rainy day. Just as the sun was coming up and my shoes and socks were drying up, I got on the Winnie the Pooh ride and the carriage I got in had a pool of water in it. I could not for the life of me find a way to put my feet somewhere they wouldn’t get soaked. Every twist and turn the water would slosh into my feet. I left the ride with wetter shoes and socks than when it was pouring down a few hours before. Like you said though you gotta just embrace being wet, laugh it off, and enjoy the lower wait times.
Well, Adam you asked when was the last time you seen it or you could take a picture in front of it whatever well I’ll tell you the last time I was at Walt Disney World was even during the daytime when it wasn’t raining. It was just a hair busier than what you’re experiencing but nowhere near is busy on a normal day like it is now, that should tell how long it’s been since I’ve been to Disney so I’ve learned to trick all this wait till it rains and I’ll go back and visit them. Seems like that’s the time to visit because then you don’t feel like your crowded. Anyway thank you for the articles.
In many ways I envy Adam the woo that he is so free and has a good following on YouTube but on the other hand it’s weird to see a middle-aged bearded man still behaving like an adolescent and with no kids or family. It’s like he got stuck in adolescence and never progressed into adulthood. Wonder if he will still be doing this when he’s in his 60s that would be somewhat creepy
It’s funny to see people complain about prices everything is expensive stop saying it’s just Disney and then compare when you went in the 90s or early 00s you could buy a house at half the cost it is today. You go to universal it’s just as expensive express passes are ridiculous. just wait till the third gate opens too.

I love when nobody is at the park during the rain! I can smell that mickey poncho through the computer! I would stay off property to subside the costs, pack a lunch and a mini backpack. Uber to a monorail resort and then hop all the parks via Disney transit. If there is a will then there is a way! The castle is really glowing through the gloom!
Regarding the “those prices” conversation here: Very true. I get the same shock when I go to the grocery store or even the movie theater (I don’t go see a movie, unless I must see it). But, ya know, Adam has fugured out to A) live next to the attractions so you can B) not pay for hotels or resorts. B) Not pay a lot for transportation, C)Get year passes and join everything, because in the long run you’ll save money, get perks, free stuff, special events and insided news. and D) Makes it his carreer to be a Disney YouTube afficianato so he can have a reason to go there all the time and film Disney all the time. Oh, and yes Adam is awsome.
