The Bard and the Ranger share 15 spells, while the Paladin borrows 7 of the Druid’s spell list. Druids have more freedom with spells like Geas, Planar Binding, Contagion, and a larger selection of summoning spells. They pray to their gods or forces of nature to grant them desired spells, but they don’t know any spells. Druids learn their spells from a divine source, usually characterized as “the divine essence of nature”.
The ranger and Warlock have a modest 15 of their spells unique to their abilities. For Warlocks, the spells they know and the spells they have prepared are the same, and they can’t swap spells out to handle the challenges they expect for the day. Druids get a per-short-rest ability to turn into animals, while warlocks have per-short-rest spells and granted powers which tend to be rarer and per-day.
Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, Bard, and Warlock are in the same category of spell lists or split into more than one. Druids work the same as clerics, getting all the spells on the Druid spell list and can freely swap them out during long rests. They also have 8 spells prepared, but each spell shares the amount that you cast (Let’s say 5).
Your spellcasting ability for these spells depends on the class you chose: Charisma for bard, sorcerer, or warlock; Wisdom for cleric or druid; and more.

Did druids cast spells?
Druids, or sorcerers with supernatural powers, are highly respected in Irish-language literature and society. They are often depicted as magicians, wizards, or diviners who cast spells, turn people into animals or stones, or curse crops. In early Irish sagas and saints’ lives, druids are usually given high social status. However, with the arrival of Christianity, their role in Irish society was reduced to that of a sorcerer, casting spells or performing healing magic. This led to a decline in their standing.
The early legal tract Bretha Crólige states that sick-maintenance due to a druid, satirist, and brigand is no more than that of a bóaire (an ordinary freeman). Another law-text, Uraicecht Becc, gives the druid a place among the dóer-nemed, or professional classes, which depend on a patron for their status.
Druids were rarer in Welsh counterparts, as the term commonly seen as referring to druids, dryw, was used to refer purely to prophets and not to sorcerers or pagan priests. Historian Ronald Hutton noted that the use of the term in Wales could be a survival from the pre-Christian era or a borrowing from the Irish, as well as the English.

Although there is a slender thread of truth running through this narrative, too much is supposition. Where did you get all the fancy details ? NOBODY really knows that much about the early formation of these mostly spiritual communities. The ritual concepts which you explain, have evolved within recent generations since the resurrection of interest by the Victorians, who had vivid imaginations.
A bit about the etymology of the word in greek. The word druid (Δρυίδης) comes from the greek word δρυς (=oak tree). The Druid (Δρυίδης) in ancient greek is the one that knows the ways of the oak (δρυς). Oak trees were especially sacred in ancient greek (sacred tree of macedonian kings, Delphi oracles, Gaia and Zeus) and in old folk through out the world because a forest with oaks attracted a lot of animals and animals = food . Dryads (Δρυάδες) were the nymphs of the forest and oaks. Some say that the old greek druids (Δρυιδες) immigrated north in central Europe to teach their ways.
Hi Sherry Venger. Why do you infer that I have not researched? I get the feeling that you may be quite a young person and totally wrapped up in yourself and your narrow thoughts. Whereas, I became deeply interested in this subject when I was Seven years of age and I am now over Seventy. Can you imagine how much reading I have done during these decades and how many ‘Wise Minds’ I have had the chance to communicated with. There has been a continual upsurge of suspicious NEW thinking and an overflow of nonsense most of which which is completely unfounded which seems to have taken over modern ways of thinking. I reckon that must be what you have been thumbing through. Not the actual facts in history.
I see many similarities between the Druidic and Zoroastrian religions. Of course, in our modern world there is doubt that the Magi were Zoroastrian… notwithstanding that possibility, the way the Druids held themselves apart, had ‘magical’ information that was passed down from 1 generation to the next and gained power (magistrate, majesty) through the use of their divine wisdom… the magi were clearly also travellers who followed the stars so why would they not travel to Britain and establish themselves as a force of nature? Any thoughts/arguments for or against would be welcome.

Everything was perfect fam thankyou for the vid. But you messed up one thing. You need to be more specific about who did what conquering. ROMAN CATHOLICS are the ones that primarily attacked any belief that threatened their power and authority. NOT CHRISTIANS, there is a HUGE difference. Roman catholics call themselevs “Christian” for political purposes. Just like the yakuza and triads arent the same. Or Republicans and Democrats aren’t the same. So Roman Catholics are not Christians. A Christian simply emulates the life of Jesus and believes He is the Hebrew God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Nothing more, we dont attack other religions, we hold debates with them. Roman Catholicism is a conjunction of Ancient Babylonian custom, Roman custom and biblical teaching. Their religion consists of a work based salvation. Thus the attacking of other beliefs. Please make that correction in future articles. Thx
