Rika is a beautiful, pale-skinned young woman with wavy blonde hair and bright lime-green eyes. She is depicted as a victim of her own abuser, mirroring the player’s own abuser in many ways. Rika’s tortured childhood is explored through the DLC (downloadable content) story, Rika Behind, which is obtainable after completing the Secret Ending. The DLC focuses on Rika’s tortured childhood and what went into making her the way she is.
Rika is not dead but founded Mint Eye, a cult after RFA, which attempts to steal party guests from the RFA to invite to her new organization. Due to her incredible ambition for helping anyone in need, she created the RFA to raise funds to donate to several charity organizations. Rika tore apart the foundations of her happiness with her own two hands, abusing people under the pretense of helping them.
Rika is a sub-character in Mystic Messenger who founded the RFA and was V’s girlfriend and fiancee. V claims she committed suicide a year and half prior to the event. She then started visiting a cathedral in a poor neighborhood away from her house for community service, trying her best to offer support and kindness to forsaken individuals.
Rika has a long, difficult road ahead of her, but it will be surprisingly peaceful. She wants to heal and live a better life. She was the first women who understood V and treated him normally. V thinks of her as the woman who restored his faith in women.
V’s acceptance of Rika made her trauma and mental state worse because he didn’t actually accept and embrace her. Understanding that Rika’s past is not just about her abuse, but also about her own beliefs and actions.
In summary, Rika is a character in Mystic Messenger who is portrayed as a victim of her own abuse and a woman who believes in her own methods. Her journey towards healing and living a better life is a complex one, with the player questioning whether Rika truly believes in her own abilities and actions.

📹 rIKA dId nOthING WROnG (Mystic Messenger)
I love Mystic Messenger, but I personally find Rika to be a selfish bitch. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ EDIT: I forgot to put Saeran is an abusive creep.
Rika was horribly abused since she was a child, she suffered mental illnesses such as depression, paranoia, anxiety, and multiple personalities disorder. She never got the help she needed, so naturally she will fuck up. V never helped her, he knew absolutely everything about the cult and her mental health, but he was so obsessed with her that he didn’t say a single word and lied about her death to protect the RFA members from knowing what she was doing. Okay, yeah, sadly Ray was abused by her, but it was V who left a child with a mentally unstable person, he let it happened when he knew what she was doing to Ray, he saw it with his own eyes but never did anything. Multiple personalities disorder, she made up Mika, who was caused by the disorder, Mika told her to do the wrongdoings, Rika naturally followed. Rika, mentally unstable, seek validation, V and the Mint Eye members were telling Rika, who’s someone mentally unstable, that she was doing the right thing to help others. Mint eye was a cult to help others find happiness, but Rika unknowingly was doing it the worst possible way, but she didn’t know because NOBODY was telling her she was doing the wrong thing, so she kept going. The moment Ray shot V, Rika’s world was destroyed, so what else can she do? Scream and cry, when she looked up at the sun in V’s funeral she had a change of heart which is why she smiled. South Korea sucks at understanding mental illnesses, families would hide the member who’s suffered and that’s what Yoosung wanted to do while Jumin wanted her in jail.
I like Rika as a character, but I think as a person, she’s horrible. Yes, she was mentally ill, but that doesn’t mean she gets the excuse to abuse as well. Personally, I would want a Rika route, but I think she’s too far gone. By the way, love the reference. Rika is like Griffith from Berserk (the meme: Griffith did nothing wrong). Lots of fans till this day excuse and defend Griffith for his wrongdoings just because he seems to have a reason for doing so.
Yea she is something that i call (hp fans plz don’t be mad) the Snape Phenomenon. People who are bad yet people give them a pass bc of a mental or physical condition Some have said Snape has PTSD from being picked on by the marauders This does not excuse his many many MANY wrongdoings in the series that would be seemingly wiped away by the famous “Always”😝 ew And for Rika well, the article sums it up
This article is reeeeaally old and I just watched it for the first time, but I have something to say. With the actuality of the game story that now it is complete, it’s IMPOSIBLE to apologize Rika’s actions after Saeran’s after ending (((((SPOILERS AHEAD))))), she literally tell us that she is aware that her actions are wrong and that she hurted and still is hurting people, by kidnapping the twins again, but she doesn’t care and doesn’t want to pay for her actions, because that’s her definition of “happiness” and no one will stop her. She wanted AGAIN to create a “paradise” and she didn’t care if that was against the twins will and freedom. And V, well… He continues to be an abuser enabler but in the worst way possible. And something that I won’t forgive Cheritz for doing is that in the end, we have to apologize Rika AGAIN for what she did, like she didn’t almost get the twins dead like for the million time. Just go to jail and pay for what you did tf… I can comprehend that coming for an abusive environment will make you mentally ill and it will twist how you see things somehow, but as a person who comes from one, that doesn’t excuse your actions. I try to be a better person and not become like my abusers because I know how it feels to be through that pain, and no one deserves that. She got people trying to help her, saying that the things she was doing were wrong but she denied all of that using a victim card blaming her past for her doings. If you still apologize her actions, you’re a future abuser or a victim.
Right there with you. Seriously. She’s the only character in the game that I really want to see die a horrible death. Criminally insane or not, she is extraordinarily harmful to other human beings and needs to be locked up. That, or dead. Yeah, dead still works for me. On another note, I so agree with you about V. V enables her to extremes, hiding her crimes and behaviors instead of going to the authorities and he is the sane one who could think clearly and should have done something, so he’s not guiltless either. Yeah, he couldn’t get her to get help on his own, but when someone…Ya know…Starts up a freaking cult and starts drugging and abusing and kidnapping people, it’s kind of the sane person’s responsibility to contact the proper authorities. But he didn’t do that because he was too busy thinking he still could ‘save’ her and ‘protect’ everyone else on his own. He also dropped the ball big time with Saeran, after promising Seven he’d protect him, he just didn’t bother with him for what, like months or longer, long enough for him to continually be abused by his mother and then be abused and exploited by Rika before V bothered to notice anything. Yeah, no, I’m not a fan of V either for reasons like this…*When he goes around saying,”It’s my fault.” I’m always like,”Fuck yeah it’s your fault dude! WTF!”
I do agree with the fact that Rika did many horrible things that truly caused unending trauma to the people surrounding her, but all of what she did was driven by something she had no control over, her desire to be loved, if she herself was not inflicted upon with that trauma then she would have never done what she did. This is how the cycle of trauma turns eternally. I will keep to my opinion on the fact that she deserved to be forgiven and deserves at least two decades worth of therapy love and forgiveness, because the only way to heal is with an apology, even if they were a victim, and obviously Rika herself should apologise and take responsibility.
There are many mentally ill people in the real world. Rika is a fictional character (inaccurately) based on the struggles of such people. She works (because she’s rising a debate in the community) but a poorly written villian for MysMe, not a justifiable person by law and by morals of the real world. Please, don’t believe that mental illness is a defining factor for evilness and violence. This is not true, and it is a stigma we need to eradicate. There are plenty of people in this world who went through the worst possible traumas who’d never do the things that Rika did. Yeah, she was remorseful in V’s after ending, but it’s not enough for Rika to be forgiven (especially by the Choi twins). She’s such a tragic woman from the start, embraced her darkness as a child just to survive. Then she became a c_lt leader whose moral errors outweighs her “good cause”. Also, I cannot find myself to trust Rika for her words and actions because only she knows in her head if and when her intentions are really pure or malicious. Rika always “means well,” is not enough to see her as a good redeemable person. I guess the best path for her to take after what happened is to serve a sentence, heal someplace else, and leave the people she had hurt and never return to her old life. It will never be the same for everybody at the end of the day no matter how hard she’d try.
I actually never understood why Cheritz representation of mental illness in this game was honestly, bad. Nameless came out before mysmes and one character in the game (SPOILER) is a yandere and the resolution of him changing for the better is more realistic and open ended so you as the player can decide how his relationship with MC turns out. I just don’t understand why they made mysmes so complicated, it’s unnecessary.
Tbh, when i play this game, i’ve already smell something fishy about Rika, and unfortunately, it’s true. I’m an sympathizer, but i can’t sympathize with Rika’s action. Her action is completely illegal and she haven’t been arrest yet. Stop saying “reasons” why she done that, it’s all excuses. Y’all sympathize an abuser that manipulated people. Say i’m emotionless person, I don’t care, whatever she gone through from her past, never excuse for her action. Wake up, in reality, there won’t be any empathy for her, forcus on her present action, not what she had been through. If you done the wrong thing, you deserve the karma. MENTAL ILLNESS IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR YOUR ACTION.
No one is denying or saying that it was half of v,s fault the problem is that v thought that his obsession over rika would help but there is no point blaming him at least he tried to actually get her the help she needed but she clearly refused. So ! I’m not taking sides .. it takes too to ruin a relationship there both equally guilty. So for the people who said they stopped playing v,s route because you had to take his side should think again considering in one of the good endings rika gets help when v and the mc happily move on with there lives
