I think about my Grandma’s parents who emigrated from Sweden. They didn’t explain to their kids until their death beds that they had bought the papers to make them seem as if they weren’t Jews. They emigrated when the person who sold them the paperwork warned them that the government was cracking down on these issues. They needed to know who these people who pretended to be goys. Some have asked me why those grandparents were so worried about being pointed out. Because the Nordic nations included the Scandinavians. My mother’s family in Macedonia hid Jewish families to their safety, but then Germany invaded my mother’s village and the Jewish families had to flee. History does repeat itself because the organization that Hitler belonged to then shifted to the US and worked behind the scenes politics of US and thus all the wars that followed around the world led by nato. The Jews were less than two percent of Germany population in 1933. General Ludendorff scapegoated the Jews for German defeat in WW1 and Hitler and other antisemites believed it. In reality, once the USA entered the war in 1918, the outcome was inevitable. The British naval blockade of German ports caused mass starvation in German cities. Ludendorff’s last military offensive stalled and could not be continued. The entire war was an avoidable and utterly stupid tragedy.
I am a Christian and was raised in a Christian household. I rebelled as a child though and claimed atheism all the way into early adulthood. I studied lots of different religions. I have found that Christianity Judaism Islam all point to the same God. There is only one God one true God and all seekers find their way to the one true God. I feel that people want to judge each other over their search for God and that is so bogus in such a waste of time you should be worried about your walk with God. I’m still confused as to how a person can just claim himself a dictator, take back peoples citizenship, steal property, and the citizens be cool with that. If they were just 1 percent of the German population, how would you think you could blame them for the whole country’s issues? I hate how people just ignore this now and talk about Palestine. Yes, there are very bad people leading Israel and very bad things are happening. But that does not discredit the indescribable suffering the Jews went through during the Holocaust. This happened so long ago. Why do they have to keep memories alive by digging this stuff up; it needs to be buried for good. People act like this will happen again but I know it won’t. Hitler wasn’t just a disgrace to the Jews or the world, but the Germans as well. My dads father was a captain for America in world war too. And my mom and her parents are from Germany. Her own dad saw Hitler himself with his two brothers. I hope not everyone thought all Germans were truly terrible. My parents feel in love despite the differences and had me and my brother. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near future to study it more deeply. this is an absolute masterpiece, I was brought to tears listening to this and seeing the chip go whirly swirly in a circle countless times. it absolutely moved my soul, and I don’t think I can ever be the same.
