The Carnival Magic, a Dream-class cruise ship built in 2011, was launched on 20 November 2008 and completed on 29 April 2011. It is one of 27 active ships in Carnival Cruise Lines’ fleet, with the oldest being built in 1996. The ship, which can carry over 6,000 passengers, was built by Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri at its Monfalcone yard in Italy. The Carnival Magic is one of the largest and second DREAM-class liners, along with Breeze, Dream, and Costa Diadema.
The Carnival Magic was built in 2011 for USD 740 million and has a gross tonnage of 130,000 tons. It accommodates about 3,700 passengers and was last refurbished in February 2021. The 3,690-passenger Carnival Magic is a floating resort hotel offering a host of amenities and facilities. Built in sections between August 2009 and August 2010, the ship was named and christened in Venice by her godmother Lindsey.
