Some spells are strictly targeted, requiring players to be in range and click on the target like an auto attack. Some are ground area effects, where even clicking on a hero will result in no effect. @PurgeGamers I understand the people who watch this are really new to the game and they can hardly remember how a hero looks and you’re wearing Arcanas and particle effect cosmetics on the heroes this makes the new guys confused as to what hero they are perusal. I’d recommend you to use the Default skins to make the new players more familiar with how their hero looks in real game. Playing this game for 5K hours still follow your articles and learn more. Love you.
PSA: Some details of this article are out of date, like how str, agi and int heroes dont get more benefits of their own primary stats than others (e.g. str hero dont get more health regen from 1 str point than an agi or int hero get from 1 str point any more. Str hero dont get more hp regen from tango either)
Bit of a correction: spell amp works for spell damage, not magical damage – there’s a secondary set of damage types, attack, spell, and “uncategorized,” which is what spell amp factors into. Basically, think of how you talking about spells doing all sorts of damage types, even if magical damage is the most common. Exorcism and Impetus will both still be amplified by spell amp, as they’re spell damage. On the other hand, the magical damage you get when proccing Javelin is attack damage, and thus isn’t amplified. You can think of it like this: Attack damage: procs lifesteal and can be nullified by negative attack damage debuffs, like Enfeeble. Ex: Feast, Javelin, Monkey King Bar. Spell damage: procs spell lifesteal and amplified by spell amp. Ex: Lightning Bolt, Quill Spray, and Sonic Wave. Notably, some things like Impetus, Searing Arrows, and Mjolnir also deal spell damage, despite being linked to attacks. Uncategoried: A few special cases that don’t meet either criteria. Damage dealt by cleave and damage flagged as HP removal ( i.e. Hearthstopper Aura, Phoenix’s health costs, and, notably, Static Field and Poison Sting, which is related to another misconception that HP removal is still a damage type rather than something that can be applied to any damage type ) fit within this. Granted, going into the nitty gritty like this is probably well out of the scope of this article, but it’s still worth keeping in mind that it is called spell amp, not magic amp, and there’s a reason for that.
im at this level where itemization is very important. The trench are people practicing thier skills. But these knowledge is like a map of how to get out of that trench. Thanks purge. Today i realize, that when i die the stats were displayed what is the percentage of damage from magical and physical did i took. I guess need to start playing to counter death.
