The Biden-Ukraine conspiracy theory is a series of false allegations that Joe Biden, while vice president of the United States, improperly withheld a loan guarantee and took a bribe to pressure Ukraine into firing prosecutor general Viktor Shokin to prevent a corruption investigation of Ukrainian gas. This theory has been discredited by America’s news organizations. In May 2021, President Biden ordered the nation’s intelligence agencies to conduct a 90-day inquiry into the cause of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Senior Biden administration officials overseeing an intelligence review into the origins of the coronavirus now believe the theory that the virus accidentally escaped. However, on February 28, 2023, the controversial claim that the pandemic might have leaked from a Chinese laboratory resurfaced with the FBI. More than a year later, US President Joe Biden ordered his own intelligence agency to “redouble” efforts to investigate Sars-Cov-2’s origins, including the theory that it came from a laboratory.
Conspiration theorists, right-wing influencers, and some Republican politicians immediately cast Biden’s resignation from the campaign as evidence of the conspiracy. In October 2020, a controversy arose involving data from a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden. Far-right commentators have floated a conspiracy theory that Democratic Party elites were secretly plotting to replace President Biden on the ticket. A conservative think tank plans a complete overhaul of the federal government in the event of a Republican presidential win.
Many conspiracy theorists and far-right commentators are spreading doubts that President Biden is alive after he posted a letter resigning from his campaign. Two main conspiracy theories were well received, with one suggesting that the President had died after testing positive for COVID-19.

The National Press Club held an event last Friday to discuss Trump’s mental illness. At no time has mental fitness in leadership been more important. Yet, at no time have we had a presidential campaign where mental fitness has been a more precarious issue. The year before the 2020 presidential election, our major conference, also at the National Press Club, “The Dangerous State of the World and the Need for Fit Leadership,” conference was considered important enough that it was broadcast for all 3 hours on C-Span. As never before or since, we brought together thirteen highly respected experts from many different areas of expertise, including psychiatry, law, political science, economics, history, journalism, climate science, and nuclear science. This year, a new book by mental health experts will be released, issuing anew their ever more dire warnings.
