In the series “Chosen”, Spike sacrifices himself using a powerful amulet given to him by Buffy. When you watch something as a child and don’t see it for years and then suddenly you rewatch it and it’s nothing like how you remember it, that’s not what happens here. Buffy is exactly how I remember it, especially the final episode with Buffy running on the rooftops as Sunnydale falls into the hellmouth
3×20 – Angel breaking up with Buffy Buffy: “I want my life to be with you” Angel: “I don’t” 7×22 – Buffy confessing her love to Spike Buffy: “I love you” Angel: “No you don’t, but thanks for saying it” In those two moments, both Angel and Spike proved they truly loved Buffy. They knew that she deserved more than they had to offer!

N it meant nothing. Supported, encouraged and loved him. And he disregard all of it 15 years. Fasted, prayed over this man and he exactly like Buffy * emotionally speaking* He didn’t give a shit. I can’t believe it. It’s still shocking.
In my head, new ending of the series finale: Scene- INT. HELLMOUTH – DAY Buffy and Spike are the only ones left in the hellmouth. Spike is still glowing from the amulet, sending rays of light out into the hellmouth. Buffy stands in front of him, staring, still holding her scythe. SPIKE “Go on, then.” BUFFY “No. No, you’ve done enough. You could still—” SPIKE “No, you’ve beat them back. It’s for me to do the cleanup.” The walls are crumbling around them. FAITH (calls down to Buffy) “Buffy, come on!” SPIKE “Gotta move, lamb. I think it’s fair to say school’s out for bloody summer.” BUFFY (worried) “Spike!” SPIKE “I mean it! I gotta do this.” (holds out his hand to stop her) Buffy laces her fingers through Spike’s, and they burst into flame together. BUFFY (softly, looks into his eyes) “I love you.” SPIKE “Now you tell me!” Buffy smiles. (another earthquake; Buffy lets go of his hand) SPIKE “Now go! I wanna see how it ends.” Buffy, “No!” & yanks the amulet off Spikes neck, they lock hands & run up the stairs together. Spike grabs tarp as they run out the school for sunlight protection. Buffy & Spike are running along the rooftops of the shopping mall as the bus drives down the street. The buildings are collapsing behind them as they try to catch up to the bus. Both leap from building to building, still carrying the scythe, then finally jumps toward the street, landing on the bus. 😍 Waayy better ending! 😉
I think they really dropped the ball to end the show this way. I was expecting way more impact from a show that was finally ending after 7 seasons. I guess I was expecting to see all of Buffy’s greatest allies coming together to fight in the final showdown. Angel, Spike, Faith, Oz, Riley and his wife along with the initiative. Instead we got a bunch of obnoxious new characters nobody cares about and in fact I was actually rooting for to die just so we could have the ultimate girl power showdown. Not to mention, this was supposed to be the ultimate boss and the absolute final showdown, and with the exception of Spike(and for some people who care at all about Anya) everyone basically survived. I mean even Xander, Dawn, and Andrew all survived. I was expecting at least 1 of the original 4 to die in the battle. Obviously I think Xander dying would have made the biggest emotional impact since he was the comic relief for the entire show but taken more serious towards the end of it all. Even Giles would have been a good cry. And what a waste of a reunion with Angel and Buffy. Bring back Angel to save Buffy and instead of killing the “priest” together, they just have him step aside and be a cheerleader for Buffy and then told to kick rocks. They had way too good chemistry with each other to get some dog 💩 reunion like that. All in all, this show pretty much died after Season 3 when Angel left. Although, the show was still watchable and somewhat decent all the way up until the season when they introduced Dawn.
