Which Astrological Degrees Are Crucial?

Critical degrees are specific points within a sign that are believed to have heightened significance or influence. They are the first, middle, and final degrees of a sign, with a special energy and dealing with beginnings, endings, and heightened traits or intensity. These degrees are particularly potent, as they are the first two degrees of a sign and the last two degrees of a sign.

For the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), the critical degrees are 0, 13, and 26 degrees. For the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius), they are 8-9 and 21-22 degrees. For the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces), the critical degrees are 4 and 17 degrees.

In astrology, critical degrees mark crucial turning points and areas of intense focus and potential transformation in an individual’s birth chart. Planets in anaretic degrees, which are the final degrees of a sign, take on the pure, undiluted nature of the sign. The critical degrees are particularly potent, as they are the first, middle, and final degrees of a sign.

The most important critical degrees in a birth chart are the last two degrees of any sign and the first two degrees of the new sign. A birth chart wheel consists of 360 degrees, with 30 degrees per House. For the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), the critical degrees are 0, 13, and 26 degrees. For the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius), the critical degrees are 8, 9, 21, and 22 degrees.

In summary, critical degrees in astrology are significant points that can affect how a person relates to the world, themselves, and others. Understanding these degrees is essential for making informed decisions about one’s life and career.

What degree is fame in astrology?

Fame degrees are degrees within a chart that determine an individual’s likelihood of becoming a public figure or being well-known. The most well-known variants are 5°, 17°, and 29 degrees. Planets, stars, and satellites have specific positions when an individual was born, and these positions are measured in conjunction with the monthly constellations of the zodiac.

For example, if Mark’s Leo Moon had a position of 5, 17, or 29 degrees, this would be considered a fame degree placement. An astrologist might also suggest that Mark would become famous due to his natural ability to entertain and high-charisma. In astrology, someone with a lot of Leo in their chart may be pushed to pursue a career where they manage events or have proximity to recognition to a celebrity due to the constellation’s supposed effects on the individual’s personality.

Mark did not have a fame degree due to his moon, but he had a higher chance of becoming a celebrity or recognized figure according to his other degrees. He had one 17-degree placement and two 29-degree placements, which were considered the better ones. Out of all the degrees, most wanted 29 or 17 degrees, and Mark had them, one twice over. The planets aligned with his fame degrees were surprising, but not for any reason aside from their close representation of his personal interests.

What does 22 degrees mean in astrology?

  • 0 degrees is like the fool in Tarot, very naive and new energy. I also see it like Sisyphus, one has to start all over again in that energy. 29 degrees is also a Leo degree. I see it that way that you want to have your shining grand finale in the that energy and shine like the sun. Or you can feel tired, because the planet is ready for retirement in that sign.

  • I have Mars almost at 30 degrees, 29.45 to be exact in the 9th house in Aries of all signs. Yes, my beliefs are extreme. I do not force my beliefs on anybody but I do tend to choose who is welcomed in my life and who’s not. We have to least share the same beliefs if we want to get along. For instance, I cannot be friends with someone who has no respect for animals because I know eventually are values are going to clash. I cannot stand there and watch someone hurting an animal and not say anything or accept it because we are friends. I do not operate that way. So yes it’s all or nothing. Thank you Honey this was so well explained.🙏

  • Good article! I was just over a year into my serious study of astrology when January 6th happened, and the events of that day convinced me to pay attention to anaretic degrees. Also, for a little extra sauce on that one, because of its retrograde, Mars had been in Aries since the summer, about four months longer than its usual transit through a sign. Thus, it had plenty of time to build up that energy that was released that day.

  • Venus at 29°32″ in Sag in my 8th house…squaring pluto….all my “lovers” went abroad…then cheated…then married someone else… But always want to be in contact with me…and/or friendly with me…the narc one…still wants me as his supply…. He has to pay me Alimony…(8th house)…And all I want is to travel and live in hotels! (12th house Moon) 😅

  • Is it that the constellations each align at 30 degrees of the ecliptic? If so, that’s simply incredible. My understanding of the constellations is that mankind visualized a cluster of stars into an image that they could refer to later (I could be making this all up though lol). These stars are not necessarily clustered (they are many light years out from each other), they just appear clustered from Earth. So not only are the constellations a useful connect-the-dots but they also geometrically align at 30 degrees each relative to us. Stuff like this makes me wonder about Mystery schools and the ancients having had access to much higher sources of knowledge. Like who knows about all that stuff really…but attempting to explain these types of phenomena relying only on conventional consensus leaves so much wanting.

  • 29 degrees Libra rising here. Been waiting on this article because I have that 1,3,7,9 at the 29th degree as well as other houses at 0 degrees. So I’ve always been tryna figure that out. But I think am a special case because I have Pluto in Scorpio in the 1st house as well so I have those traits as well.

  • Whooo chile ppl will fight to not have their foundation shaken😅anywho thanks for sharing this article… i love learning about degrees… please do more articles on degrees and progressions . I have mars at 29 degrees in my solar return chart this year… i love how astrology unfolds. Clearly im completing something in relation to value bc next yr ill be havin my nodal return in the 2ndh of my natal and pluto will be in my 2ndh of my solar return chart next yr 😮

  • I have two comments: 1) on astrology software sites, my birthday of Feb 17(Aquarius/Pisces cusp but you’re saying it is strictly Aquarius) is on the 29th degree (NN and Chiron in 0 degree Aries) and the software says my “sun is in the 4th house but most astrologers interpret it in the 5th house”; 2) we all rely on doctors, nurses, staff, midwives, etc to accurately record our exact birth times which none of us can be certain so I figure the actual birth time could be off by minutes when you consider most people don’t care about astrology/exact birth times.

  • Can you please help me decide on a wedding day? I’m trying to choose between 11/17 (Pluto in cap 29) and 11/19 (Pluto in aqua 0). Which is better astrology for my fiancé and I? We already struggle with power issues at times, so I want pluto (and all the other planets/asteroids etc) as well positioned as possible. I have to pick my wedding date ASAP as I already paid the venue last week. Please help! I have money to pay! Me: 5/6/1990 3:32pm Wash DC. Him: 2/16/1990 1:43am Charlotte NC. Which day has better marriage astrology for us? 11/17/24 or 11/19/24? What day supports a long-lasting fun & happy marriage where we can grow a family? Thank you ❤🙏🏾 I can even pay first. I just really need this🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

  • North node in Pisces at 29 degrees being hit by Neptune at the same time natal Venus in Aries being hit by the north node this is fated and destined am I right. That north node is in the third house. The person I’m talking about had two choices the dark and the light path he took the dark. The universe is coming in to redirect him

  • Steve Judd Astrology Aldebaran is known as a royal star- the eye of illumination (e.g. the Buddha star) Hindus refer to it as ‘Rohini’ named after the river where the Buddha was born in May. Further it opposes Antares. I can understand labeling Antares a malevolent but definitely not Aldebaran. Regulus just moved into Virgo a few years back too.

  • I’m late perusal this but it’s very interesting in a quick & simple way. I ty. I’m a SAG descendant 8 degree 7th house that gives me very bad choices in males. My track record is proof. I am now single for life Aries sun 19 degrees. I also have 8 degrees Gemini on my first house. All my birth chart is barely missing malefic degrees of each sign or not a critical or good degree at all.

  • steve, you must take into consideration critical emphasis is always based on belief of the concept. the word critical is a word to insinuate fatalistic absolute. not true. one critical degree may just mean what someone creates with it. astrology is observational and not as black and white as some astrologers make it out to be. this is why so many quote astrologers get predictions wrong so much. because many astrologers as i find who know text book astrology well fall short of being able to forecast with accuracy. forecasting really is neptune which the great late Evangaline adams had so strong in her chart. forecasting is a art of itself. and most astrologers fall short in this speciality. because they don’t have prominent neptunes. which is the planet really has the power to predict the future. astrology is what you do with it, i.e. free will. we make the charts come to life. as we inapt them. a chart shows what you may do with it.

  • Interesting. I did do very quick research before I’m off to work. So these are the degrees they are at for everybody because they are fixed stars, but it matters where the planets are in relation to them, I guess? But how do you know a conjunction with a planet is a good thing? I have Uranus at 13 degrees Cancer, so it’s on top of that fixed star Sirius. Is that automatically good just because that star is a good influence? (Anyone feel free to enlighten me about this. I’m sure many of you understand this better than I do.)
