The solar plexus chakra, the center of personal power and confidence, can be affected by anxiety. It is crucial to balance this chakra through meditation, yoga, and affirmations to achieve inner calm and tranquility. Each chakra is associated with a color, nerve point, gland, and psychological function. The root chakra and crown chakra are the top and tail end of the chakra system, and imbalances in these chakras can lead to feelings of jealousy and possessiveness.
There are seven chakras connected to our body’s system, each with its own energy center. Balancing the first chakra can help reduce anxiety symptoms. To balance the first chakra, rub your feet and legs with lotion or oil. The main Cakra controlling anxiety and fear is the 3rd Cakra (Manipura) in the navel area, where the Adrenal glands reside.
The Sacral Chakra, which affects emotions and relationships, can also be affected by an unbalanced solar plexus. The third eye chakra, also associated with anxiety, is also associated with anxiety. The Solar Plexus chakra, located under your ribs and in the diaphragm, is associated with the color yellow and can impact self-esteem and confidence. Blockages in the solar plexus chakra can result in feelings of insecurity, anxiety, and loneliness.
In summary, understanding the chakra system and its connection to anxiety can help alleviate symptoms and promote inner calm. By balancing the root chakra, sacral chakra, and solar plexus chakra, individuals can achieve inner calm and tranquility, ultimately reducing anxiety and depression.

A “rooted” heartfelt thank you Allie for offering these exceptional educational Chakra series on the Chakras. So many yoga instructors simply go through the “yoga movements/exercises mechanically” without explaining the connection to one’s mind, body, soul, energy and the effects blocked energy has or how the chakras work. I am taking in every piece of educational information you are offering along with doing your yoga practices. It has been making a deeper self- experience journey into my mind, body, soul, and soul healing. Thank you for your work in explaining these chakra connections and helping to be a the catalyst/change agent to become more mind, body, soul connected and ENLIGHTENED!! Sending peace and so much appreciation.
Namaste Allie! I want to know more about each chakras. I would love to feel less anxious and more stable and grounded cause sometimes I feel like my feet are not connected to the earth. I already created for myself a morning and evening routine, these help me super much and grounding outside with my feet on earth is my must everyday.loveee to you, thank you❤️❤️❤️
Hearing it all simplified like this now, I am seeing how much I have been coming into balance… from both in excess and deficiency in different areas…💚 Staying with the root for a bit longer before I move up the chakra system again. Also as taken from your seasonal challenges, I have been showing up ‘perfectly imperfect’ 💚🙌(think I remembered it right? Its something like that 🤔🤣)
Thanks Allie, I can see aspects of all three in my life, and there seems to be an oscillation between them. I have been working on myself using journalling as a starting point. I can see changes, the swings between excess and deficiency appear to be less frequent or obvious – mostly through activities/processes such as gardening, connecting with nature, mindfulness and gratitude. I haven’t returned to my mat after a shoulder injury but this will be soon I think, just not pushing it right now. I do appreciate this article and enjoy your relaxed approach. I’ve converted your markers from the article into check points in my journal and will use them to see how I’m tracking over a few weeks (without getting too much into my head again) 😊
This is my first time perusal you articles Allie. Thank you for an excellent representation of the polarity of root chakra. Luckily this one does not get out of balance too often for me perhaps because of my plant based diet, yoga and LOVE of malasana. Will look at your solar plexus which is my troubling chakra.
It’s been (too) long since I sat and saw an Allie article. Felt good to be back. 🙂 Thank you, Allie, for consistently showing up and being here for us. Now, as to my root chakra, I see traits of all three states in me, but I think I’m tipping towards deficiency. Anyhow, one thing is for sure, and that is that I am feeling a need to ground myself.
A lot of information here. Everything that you explained, seems like I’m in excess with feeling overweight, having an addiction to security, trying to balance with doing alot of yoga and becoming more active, being outside more. I was wondering if you would be doing chakra focused yoga sessions? I love your chakra yoga articles!!
My root chakra is deficient. I have a blog, but I’ve been neglecting it a bit. The consistency of blogging once a week is too much for some reason. Same with the languages I’m learning. Being autistic I spent a lot of time in my head. I’m going to cleanse my root chakra tonight, and in the next few days, I’m going to do one of your earth yoga classes.
