Which Chakra Is Located In The Chest?

The heart chakra, also known as the Anahata, is located in the center of the chest, between the breasts. It is associated with love, empathy, and connection to others. It is directly linked to the heart, circulation, and the energy centers of the body. The seven main chakras are the Solar Plexus Chakra, the Throat Chakra, the Solar Plexus, the Bottom of the Rib cage, the Yellow Earth, the Liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas, and the Celiac plexus (spinal cord).

The heart chakra is associated with air and its purpose is to guide love and balance. It is depicted as a six-pointed star surrounded by 12 petals. When misaligned, poor circulation, high or low blood pressure can affect the heart, lungs, chest, arms, and hands.

The heart chakra is represented by the color green and is located in the middle of the chest next to the physical heart. It is closely connected with the heart, lungs, and the thymus. The heart chakra is represented by the symbol “anahata” in Sanskrit, meaning “unhurt”.

The heart chakra is located at the lower center of the chest, just above the heart. It represents the divine feminine and is filled with feelings or the divine masculine. To bring the seven main chakras back to balance, it is recommended to practice meditation, exercise, and meditation. Crystals that are good for the heart chakra include the Aura, the Lotus Sutra, and the Jataka.

Joe Dispenza shares one of the key ways Dispenza suggests realigning the chakras, or energy centers in the body, is through …

What does the chest chakra do?

The Heart Chakra is the fourth point of energy, located in the center of the chest behind the sternum. It is referred to as Anahata in Sanskrit, meaning ‘unhurt’, ‘infinite’, or ‘boundless’. It forms an astral bridge connecting the upper and lower triangles, balancing material and spiritual worlds and promoting emotional and physical well-being. Pure love is believed to open the fourth chakra, allowing unconditional love.

The Heart Chakra is guided by the Air element or Vayu Dhatu, representing open space and the infinite part of oneself. The physical body connected to the Heart Chakra includes the heart, lungs, thymus gland, arms, and hands.

What chakra is blocked in the chest?

Blocking your heart chakra can lead to difficulties in relationships, compassion, forgiveness, and feelings of isolation. To unblock this chakra, try writing in a gratitude journal, meditating with heart-opening crystals, and reciting loving affirmations. To combat this energy, make a list of at least three things you’re grateful for every day, training your mind to see all the positives in your life.

These can be as simple as a beautiful Spring day, a great phone call, or a delicious home cooked meal. The more personal your list, the better. Remember, the more personal your list, the more effective it is in promoting love and joy.

What is the chakra point in the chest?

The Heart Chakra (Anahata), meaning “unhurt” in Sanskrit, is located in the middle of the chest next to the physical heart and is associated with love. Blocked chakras can lead to asthma, heart disease, or lung disease. Chakras are vital for whole-body health but are not visible to the naked eye. They are believed to be portals through which the main energetic channels of the body flow. Understanding the ancient energy system of chakras, their origins, mechanisms, and potential ways to balance them, can help individuals maintain overall well-being.

What does the chest chakra represent?

The heart chakra is linked to the emotional body, promoting love, kindness, and compassion. It encourages unconditional love and equal affection, cultivating self-awareness and trusting relationships. The mental body, connected to the heart chakra, helps balance emotions and encourages giving and sharing without expecting anything in return. This chakra opens the door to the inner self, allowing one to nurture themselves and live in balance within themselves and the world. It also helps in arousing Svadhisthana, a state of being abundant and accepting things as they are. Both the heart and mental bodies play crucial roles in our overall well-being.

Which chakra holds trauma?

The root chakra, which is susceptible to influence from collective events, can be affected by physical traumas that are a consequence of the experiences of our nation or ethnic group. This can result in the formation of a belief that the world is inherently dangerous and sometimes regrettable, given that it is shaped by our past and present experiences.

What emotion weakens the lungs?

What emotion weakens the lungs?

The lung channel, which opens to the nose and governs the voice, is associated with grief and sadness. Its smooth action depends on the emotional exchange with the outer world. Symptoms of lung deficiency include frequent colds, asthma, bronchitis, cough, dry skin, fatigue, chest pain, itchy skin, and increased nasal discharge.

To maintain lung health, take deep-cleansing breaths, such as abdominal breathing or diaphragmatic breathing, which strengthens circulation, oxygenation, and lymph drainage. Place your hand on your abdomen and feel your hand rise as you breathe deeply from your core. Breathe in and hold for a few seconds, then release slowly and repeat several times. Singing is also beneficial for the lungs, so belt out your favorite songs.

How to clean heart chakra?

How to clean heart chakra?

Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy in the body that affect emotions, thoughts, and health. Balance in these chakras is crucial for a healthy, fulfilled life. The heart chakra, represented by green, is located in the center of the chest and governs various aspects of the body. Any imbalance or blockage can manifest as dysfunctional relationships, feelings of isolation, skin conditions, asthma, circulatory problems, low or high blood pressure, heart palpitations, chest pains, and even heart attacks.

To realign the chakras, one can practice meditation by sitting in a comfortable position with legs crossed and closed eyes. Imagine a green light radiating from the center of the chest and spreading outwards, engulfing the person from the top of the head to the tips of the toes. Repeat this process three times.

How do you know if your heart chakra is blocked?

A blocked heart chakra can lead to feelings of unworthiness, trustlessness, and physical symptoms like poor circulation, high or low blood pressure, or stiffness in the shoulders, chest, and upper back. Realigning the heart chakra can improve confidence, connection to the world, and a sense of love, compassion, and joy. To feel the heart chakra, place your index finger at the base of your thumb, middle and ring finger at the tip of your thumb, and place both hands by your side. Close your eyes and think about things that make your heart expand, such as a loved one, a special place, or warm, magnetic energy.

What chakra is associated with the chest?

The heart chakra, Anahata, is situated in the midline of the chest and is associated with love and the absence of harm. The malfunctioning of the chakras may result in the onset of respiratory illnesses such as asthma, cardiovascular disorders, and pulmonary diseases, in addition to other health complications.

How to unblock the heart chakra?

Terrones suggests that the heart chakra is the integration point between the lower and higher chakras, allowing for deeper connections with others. To unblock this chakra, she recommends heart-opening poses like Camel Pose or Wheel, Cow Face Pose, and Humble Warrior. Plow and Fish pose can open up the throat chakra, boosting communication. Easter traditions suggest that the third eye chakra is responsible for inviting new possibilities into life. Terrones recommends incorporating upper and lower body connections in these poses. These techniques help individuals embrace others and open up new possibilities.

Which chakra is connected to breast?

Breast massage is a powerful tool for nourishing the heart chakra, as the breasts are an extension of it. It promotes the flow of lymph through the breasts, which is made up of fatty tissue that is constantly cleansed by lymph. This helps in the production of milk and the elimination of toxins, such as pesticides and environmental toxins. Breast massage also helps to nourish the heart chakra, as it is an extension of the heart chakra, and many practitioners have noticed that breast challenges resolve by cleansing deep-seated emotions. Therefore, taking care of the breasts with love and care is a beneficial practice for overall health.

  • Omg this happen to me when I had my panic attack. I heard a voice and it said stay still. I close my eyes . And hold my breath because I wanted to feel everything. I told myself I love that feeling give me more. And out of nowhere a rush of energy went down and vanish . Right there and then I looked up everything was so bright ! My thoughts were gone. All I felt was peace ☮️. My pain was in my sacral chakra . Super cool that we can heal our self. Haha I’m still so proud of myself. 😆☺️☺️

  • I experienced massive chest then extreme emotion. I just surrendered to and let it flow through and allowed the tears to flow. In the past I didn’t show emotion and crying was deemed as a weakness. Once I allowed it, I felt a massive sense of peace and release. One of the wildest experiences I have ever had

  • My heart chakra opening experiences have been wild, for me this was the biggest area of trauma that I have suffered in my life. My heart truly did become hard after experiencing such betrayal and heartbreak that I turned to drugs and drinking. After years of suffering I final began to forgive and work on healing myself and a HUGE ASPECT of my kundalini awakening was and still is centered around healing my heart! Thanks for the confirmation and love your energy/videos! Peace and love, Corey.

  • i have felt awful for a year. heart issues, chest tightness all day,(for no reason) sore throat and tightness, feeling overly emotional but not be able to release it, bitterness, anger, sadness, a lot of frustration. i feel this is not Me. someone told me that it sounds my heart chakra is opening. now im ready to understand what do i need to do so it can open whenever im ready.

  • Thank you! This was such a blessing for me. I’ve had horrible emotional pain in my heart for months and I’ve been wondering why these deep heart related traumas are coming up again, why so strong, like all the betrayal in my life haunting me, my whole upper back aching and eventually chest burning and bursting with hurt of neglection etc. Maybe it’s not a bad thing, maybe my heart chakra is opening and healing. Maybe better things are to come for my heart. Thank you.

  • 2 ambulance rides later… 😄I thought I was gonna die, heavy glowing in the chest and forehead… I kept having constant panic attacks… This is such a wild ride. There is nothing wrong with me… By holding my hands to my heart… Tears will just flow out… Thank you incredibly for this article. Helps so many others. ❤🐢

  • I didn’t know what was happening, where all this pain was coming from. Sometimes after long periods of surrender to the feeling, it would shift into Love and feelings of peace. The pain got more intense since last week, my mind was so loud and intense, I knew it was trying to “fix” the “problem” by telling me that something is wrong, and it would bring up all kinds of fears. I’d sometimes fall into believing it but tried to stay with the pain. I’m so happy I found this article today. I cried and felt so grateful. Thank you for your guidance and support 🙏🏼

  • Thank you- I haven’t felt anything in my heart- not pain, not joy, not anything. It’s just been numb and now I finally know why as memories that my subconscious locked away have resurfaced. I’m finally feeling again, it’s pain. But I’m so grateful to feel period!! I know following the pain will be love which I’ve never experienced before- I’m so excited and sad all in one 💜

  • I have been experiencing this burning in my chest and in my back and feel like some kind of energy would goes through of my skeleton and I started to read a book of self love written by Louise Hay. It was like mirror meditation, because I felt I need to calm my mind and heal my inner child. I started to feel that I need to talk to someone about it. Someone offered me a psychologist, because the anger and pain literally burning me . And I just started to think of my body, spirit and my mind like being a team. And they help each other to calm and understand each other and find a balance.

  • This just helped me so much!! I’m currently in the process of accepting my twin flame into my life.. I have had that burning all day in my chest! Mid way through this article I paused it and did as you say. I focused on the burning, I didn’t fight it or try to diagnose it. I have never felt so relieved! ❤️ Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • Mine was triggered by meeting a soulmate and having a remembrance. For me, it felt like all of the energy in my body had gathered into one spot (my heart). It was the most intense and heavy thing I had ever experienced. I was so fatigued, back and forth feelings of depression, anxiety, and happiness and longing for truth and joy. The energy was so intense that I was not able to eat or sleep for 3 days. So I rested, meditated, and soaked in knowledge during that time. I also got many visions during that time. And after the 3 days had passed, my spiritual growth began and it has been such a beautiful journey thus far. 💚

  • Thank you so much for speaking on this topic. I have always had “unstable emotions” and have even been diagnosed with a particular disorder as a result. I really have always believed the story that my mind gave me of this and I think I still will for a while until I am able to change that belief at a subconscious level. The intense feelings of sadness and anger are at their most intense right before a menstrual cycle, sometimes lasting a week or more. Before I knew about the mind body connection I assumed (as most western people would) that it was just hormone imbalance but I now see that it is much more than that, and that the hormone imbalance “story” was just a story my mind chose to keep me fixated on. I suspect that this has something to do with stuck/unconscious emotions about being a woman or perhaps my connection to my mom. I’m not sure but I will have to sit with it. For a very long time I have taken the strong emotions as a sign that there was something deeply wrong with me, seriously. I have called myself “hypersensitive” and worse. I have never in earnest tried to sit with the feelings so I’m pretty excited to give it a try. Namaste 🙏

  • Just came across this amazing words from you, exactly what you have explained I just started experiencing, the burning sensation right in the center of my chest, the feeling of stress, wonder, jealousy, sadness and also strong love for my wife and kids that I never felt before, crying a lot, thank you very much ❤.

  • Thank you so much. Sitting with awareness of fear, shame, anger and allowing it all – it takes time and it’s tough. I feel like I’ve levelled up but I’m often now so unsure about how to live – I take so much time to just feel my way through now – though really wonderfully I am praying for the time to work things out and I’m getting the time. I’m allowing myself to just work through the feelings and allow whatever happens with grace. I’m realising that I have to treat myself kindly and hold my own self in love whatever happens and the way forward will reveal itself. Thank you so much. I’ve just found your website. ❤❤❤

  • I healed my lower chakras and I had severe blockages in the solar plexus chakra that I loosened, thereby relieving my social phobia and then working on my heart chakra And suddenly I felt these feelings of loneliness even when I am outside permanently and my solar plexus chakra blocked again because of it I didn’t want it in the beginning but I accepted that I have to feel the feelings to heal my heart chakra but they are soooo Strong

  • My mom gave me away to my uncle when I was 3 and that shyt messed me up when I reunited with her everything was good till she started leaving to another city for work then this reinforced my earlier abandonment by the age of 12 I severed my heart connection to my mom. I cut my losses and then I had an opportunity to leave home and have never been back since ever. But the act of closing the heart and moving into your head is a beginning of the journey to Hell. Infact the Hero’s journey or the prodigal son story is about the journey from the heart to the head and back. Heart is home.

  • This article is very very helpful. You are the person who validate this burning feeling in my heart.Night before i search in youtube about heart chakra opened,I recalled my pain when I was a child from seeing my dad harming my mom physically and verbally. Even It just happened twice in my life on that aggressive level. It still have been scaring me to this day, maybe because at that time I feel that anything could happen with my family, dad might be harming mom severely and that is the first time i feel the fear of death even if it’s just seeing my dad injure my mom. 😢

  • I really appreciate you explaining this the best I e heard! I just want you know you are on the money! I’ve never felt this way in my literal heart..my heart has be doing very strange things!! It’s racing skipping bests slowing down snd beating strong!! It also feels heavy st time snd I been crying for days! I been by myself more then I ever have! It’s intense!!

  • Beautiful article. Perfect timing. I love how Spirit leads us to what we need to hear. Have been experiencing intense feelings of betrayal abandoment feeling of being invisible. And yes much heat burning ache in my heart chakra. The more I surrender to thiis experience, the transformation is simply anazing. I bteathe more deeply i feel more connected to the Earth and also “I remember Me- the authentic me. Much more love for myself and patience.Thankyou Matthew for remindimg me this alchemy is a beautiful experience. One to treasure . No need to run from it and it doesn’t matter anymore that other people in my life dont understand whats happening. I feel freer. Thankyou

  • I feel like I am in the process of opening my heart chakra. This was beautifully put. Wow. From attracting so much green in my life, from trying to understand want it means to live from the heart, acceptance, non-judgment…The difference of the mind and the heart. A lot of what you said here reminds me of Sarah Blondin & her message when it comes to living from the heart. Any one who reads this, check her out!

  • When my heart began to open a few years ago, after an evening meditation, I literally FELT “knives being pulled from out of my heart”-that is exactly what it felt like- yes it felt GREAT afterward, but what a surprise to feel this so intensely! Then on the full moon (2/25/24), I decided to work on expanding my heart energy-and yes, it became fully “on fire”-and actually blew out the power in my house-I had to completely reset the circuit breaker (yes such an apt metaphor from the Universe!) POWERFUL stuff.

  • Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I was constantly thinking my time on earth is over, l went to urgent care, has blood tests, EKG, and XRAY done, everything came back normal, my husband couldn’t get it why then l am complaining so much of chest pain. My heart was pounding sometimes, sometimes enormous burning which lead to think me having issues, may be with my liver? or could be ulcer, but why on my chest area, l was applying balm on my chest etc Sweating profusely, having body shake or vibrating, on an off, crying. my mind will say call for help, so on…. But thank you so much for sharing your experience, it helps me to surrender and try to watch quietly the process. I hope it’s something beneficial and l am not actually going to die, not that l am scared of dying. I want to grow spiritually to find who lam. Bless you

  • It was so crazy that I read this. I went down to the floor from that feeling. My boyfriend agreed not to go out to any bars in New York when he was on vacation and upon checking the bank account and saw that he was is going on a bar crawl so I reported the card stolen 😄 Then shortly after realized that his phone had died and I thought I left him trapped when he was staying an hour away. I was so upset FIRE 🔥 blasted out of my chest but only that one time. Completely insane.

  • I am feeling this burning sensation in my heart chakra as I type this, but have no emotions that come with it. It simply fire burning and roaring like its trying to call out to something. What its making me feel is energetic and peaceful at the same time. The sensation is quite confusing. Is it possible to not have any intense emotions burning off and only the fire going? Its been hard to find very much material on this feeling. I thank you for your article! Peace and Love be with you

  • Thank you for this article, currently the only one talking about this burning. Although, I feel now the burning in my heart, but instead of sadness, I feel a lot of gratitude and compassion. Now it’s December but I feel so warm at the heart that I wear light clothes, my body became warmer. Also, some nights, the burning becomes intense, and I feel all my left side tingling that I wakes me up, ( at 3-5am). I would appreciate it if you give me insight, as a specialist, about my situation.

  • Gosh darn it Matthew, everyone I go to says I should be on high blood pressure medicine because my blood pressure is high. Gads…..my imagination is constantly going. I am experiencing dizzyness as well. I am experincing burning as well. The difficulty is that I am 81 and gees….I am finding that I am always fearful. I am opening to your message my love. Namaste’

  • Help me Matthew. Ive been rushed to the ER 3 times cause ill be in public and this will happen. Its so terrible that I cant speak, walk, or do anything while its happening. Once Im at the ER, I get 100% relief when I am finally ‘able’ to release and vomit up all the bile in my body which is pretty aggressive but very necessary. Then, im 100% healed, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Sure this is cleansing, but I am in constant fear of this happening very SUDDENLY again. Im very scared but I feel very connected to this article. Ive been through so many doctors and im so so tired of this. Why is this attack to random and sudden each time>?? This is really tough. Ive experienced the kundalini awakening a few years ago but with time I became closed up again. Is this part of it? Please help me … I dont know how to work with these energies. They’re controlling me from what it seems.

  • This is interesting, I remember a few years ago I was praying about something and a fasted for a few days and ever since I’ve been having that spiritual burning in my chest ever since. A few it has came and went a few times but the longer I have had it the longer it has been with me and if I focus on it it’s almost as if it physically warms my body. I’ve been trying for damn near a decade for now to figure out what it is and why it’s there. Though I have always associated with some sort of spiritual passion or love not being fully aware of what’s it’s function.

  • ive been feeling like this lately. i wouldnt go so far to say he is my twin flame but its crazy how we connect and I just feel like I know when he thinks of me its like that burning pain in the heart and im like wow how is that possible for someone u have just known for a week Like one day I thought let me test it and he was like ” wow I just summoned u” Thats when I knew.. the heart can reach another persons heart!

  • Thank you, this has helped♡ I’m learning and listening more. It sure does goes to its levels🥴💫 & it does feel like a article game, lol. I feel like Mario shrinking when I get triggered, like a lightning strike. It feels like hurtful electricity in certain body areas. I am learning to pour more love upon myself. My mind is so overprotective and my heart gets blocked(which i can’t help but to think of that Disney Moana having that moment with Te Fiti& i have to keep reminding myself who I am, i am Love) so childlike🤭 must be my innerchild thoughts💝 Thank you, again.🙏🏼 ~shalom

  • Lately this pain has been quite confronting – especially during the 2nd Saturn return. If it helps others to learn from, I’ve trained myself to think “I am awake at the wheel” or “I am upgrading ” or “My Heart Centre is Opening” during the pain. I have dedicated a few reliable black stones and a good raw sapphire to help draw out the residue from the combustion, and have some water that I direct Love into to sip from when adjusting my Heart. Sometimes I feel I may even pass out from the pain but I always get through it, and so will you. Other stones that are useful are Tektite, Black Tourmaline (of course!) Blue Kyanite, Blue Sapphire, Clear Quartz and Black Obsidian. Pink Kunzite is also helpful. You have to find your own way through it. xxx

  • Their has someone who came into my life recently I’ll tell you the story. Mexican girl I met. She’s all I think about. Her name is Isabella. How I found out about her was my father knew her father since he is a Gardner. I had no idea he had daughters so 1st time I saw her was when he introduced me at work, the moment I saw her my heart literally exploded. She is a tomboy. 2nd time was during that sametime when I walked in the store and saw her by wine asle and she was staring at me for long period of time and then she gave wide smile at me. 3rd time months later, i was sweeping through the store and she passed my alley with her friends but she went out of her way to look at me and say hi to me while she was getting left behind by her Friends. And now this happened the other week: So I was talking to her (isabella) she was asking me how I was. And I was trying be as confident as I could be. She telling me how she helped her dad gardening job (common Mexican labor in CA) how tired she is so she was kinda in a rush. She gave me this wide smile while looking away (Could be blushing) her eye didn’t leave me we were staring at eachother like for 3 seconds and I felt this intimate romantic burning/warmth in my heart. I can tell it was mutual I felt we’re very connected together. I was too nervous to ask her out that day. All these times I ran into her spontaneously was in span of 2 years. But then other day I called her dad to get hold of her to ask her out but then he told me she is overseas that she joined the navy so that shattered me because I didn’t get to tell her I felt about her before she left.

  • Thank you 💚💚💚 This is happening right now for me, at first I just assumed it was heart burn but it’s been a week now with this chest pain and hasn’t gone away. I can feel it transforming. Random but this started after I got the crystal malachite that I’ve been wearing as an Amulent. I’ve been meditating for years now but I could always tell my heart chakra wasn’t fully open, it would go in and out. Sending anyone reading this the courage and light to keep going. 💚💚💚

  • See I am becoming angry, and fearful for no reason and I was nothing like this, my heart feels pain and sadness for so small reasons, my solar plexus feels something uncomfortable,my shoulder blades feel tighter when small things trigger me, My body feels sadness when my mind is silent?since 2020 it’s going on! I always feel like crying for no reason or small reasons

  • I think that in the west we tend to live in our heads, and live in general, very robotic lives in which we shut down feelings.. of course, they are always there underneath. Having a lot of therapy I’m open to my down side but the heart chakra is a seat of feelings and emotions that is affected by peoples intent, the love you got or didnt . It’s the root to many unseen things

  • Hey! So I need some help. I’ve been opening my heart chakra and I come from a past of neglect and codependency. I eventually wanted to isolate myself and I did for a while. Now I’m healing and I’m having intense disassociation and it’s pretty scary. I feel quite unsafe and unstable, do you have any advice? Am I safe? Also, I’m going through kundalini awakening, and have been healing for about a year now.

  • Wut if it’s not exactly where ur heart is but higher on the upper right chest and seems to happen way worse when I exert myself physically although I do feel I’m in the midst of ny spiritual awakening and I just started seeing a psychological to deal with my childhood trauma and I was recently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and I’m 54yrs old woman so I don’t know wut it is. I have enlarged liver and multiple gallstones too so I don’t know but it burns bad real bad so it can be either or…wut do u think???

  • Mathew, please tell me if skin rash only at location of heart chakra is sign of opening heart? Or sign of blocking heart? My skin rash at my heart chakra location comes and then clears away, and then comes again and clears away again. Rash lasts for a couple of weeks. So, do you know if the rash has to do with opening? Or blocking? My feelings are extreme and fluctuate. I will feel deeply loved and hopeful, then I will feel shattered and rejected.
