What is pyrite associated with?
Pyrite, a common, iron-rich mineral, is often found in calcite and quartz veins alongside chalcopyrite and other sulfide minerals and metallic ores. It oxidizes to iron sulfate minerals, which then alter to limonite, indicating the presence of pyrite in the underlying rock. Despite its importance, pyrite is rarely mined for its own sake, as most iron is produced from magnetite and hematite deposits. Vein pyrite may reveal the presence of other valuable minerals like chalcopyrite and gold.
In the past, pyrite was used as a sulfur source for sulfuric acid, an essential commodity for the chemical industry, especially during World War II. Today, most sulfur comes from natural gas deposits enriched in hydrogen sulfide. Despite its decline in value, pyrite was highly regarded in the past due to its ease of coaxing flame from pyrite sparks.
How to energize pyrite?
Pyrite crystals can be recharged by sunbathing in direct sunlight for a few hours, absorbing moonlight for cleansing and recharging, and surrounding it with quartz or amethyst crystals. Sunlight boosts natural magic, while moonlight helps cleanse and recharge the crystal. Place the crystal under the moon overnight, especially during a full moon, for optimal benefits. Regular maintenance of the Pyrite crystal transforms it from a mere tool to a powerful ally on the path to fulfillment.

I have a question Last night I charged my crystals under the full moon. I’m positive it didn’t rained the whole night as the sky is clear with a full moon. After a few hours my crystals are wet with dew,.and they are super cold (just like a glass out of the fridge). Most of my crystals are water safe, but among the are three of my Pyrite crystals. The pyrite crystals are also soaking with dew and they begin to smell rusty. I know pyrite cannot get wet because water will rust them. I immediately carry the pyrite crystals inside, wipe them dry then charge them under the sun until early afternoon the next day. The dew soaking my crystals wet happened for the first time ever. My question is… How can I charge my pyrite in moonlight without getting it wet? Or should I only charge it inside the window, or only in sunlight?
