Which Day In Astrology Is Harmful For The First Menstrual Cycle?

Aries are energetic, competitive, and dynamic individuals who handle period pains by channeling emotions through activities. The average menstrual cycle is 29.5 days, which is the same length as a lunar month. Astrology suggests that the Moon rules the breasts, stomach, uterus, digestion, and bodily fluids, including amniotic fluid. Aligning with lunar rhythms can empower women’s inner strength.

The Moon’s 28-day cycle is closely aligned with a woman’s average menstrual cycle, making it a key influence on the regularity, duration, and experience of menstruation. Ovaries release an egg or ovulate 10-16 days before menstruation begins, which is the fertility window. Sperm can stay alive up to 5 days after having penis-in-vagina, and implantation usually takes place 6 to 12 days after fertilization.

Getting your first period, typically between the ages of 10 and 16, can bring up questions for both a young person and their parent, guardian, or confidante. It is better to menstruate during the rest of the week except Sunday, Tuesday, and Saturday. Ascendants include Aries, Leo, and Scorpio.

Inauspicious times for the appearance of the first menses include Amavasya or the New-Moon day, Rikta Tithies, and the 1st, 6th, 8th, and 12th lunar days in both. Puja is not prohibited during the first menstruation, and worshipping God is encouraged. Cancer occurs from June 21 to July 22, and women should align their menstrual cycle with the lunar cycle to advance wellness, health, fertility, and manage period pain better. Mars, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu in a female horoscope are not good for regular, smooth, and undisturbed menstrual discharge.

Sadhguru answers a question on a woman’s menstrual cycle, and whether there are any taboos associated with it in the spiritual …

What not to do on first day of period?

During a menstrual cycle, it is important to avoid certain habits that can be harmful to the health of the fetus. These include not eating salty foods, consuming caffeine, forgoing protection, using a douche, using artificial fragrance-based cleaners, waiting too long for pain medication, being a couch potato, and leaving sanitary products in too long. These habits can lead to a more unhealthy and emotionally draining period.

To achieve a healthier and more enjoyable period, it is recommended to avoid certain activities, such as coffee and sweets, which can be detrimental during the menstrual cycle. By avoiding these habits, women can improve their reproductive health and enjoy their menstrual cycle more effectively.

Why is day 2 the worst for period?

During menstruation, the muscles in the uterus contract to shed blood and tissue, causing pain sensations. This pain is triggered by the uterus cutting off blood supply and oxygen, releasing chemicals that trigger pain. The body also releases hormones called prostaglandins, increasing uterine contractions and potentially worsening the pain. Dysmenorrhea, a term for painful periods, affects about 50 of menstruating women. There are two types: primary dysmenorrhea, which occurs 1-2 days before the period or when bleeding begins, and secondary dysmenorrhea, which occurs after the period.

What should a girl do for her first period?

To prepare for your first period, you should have feminine hygiene products and over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen or naproxen on hand. If you don’t have access to menstrual products, toilet paper will suffice. If you get your first period at school, your teacher or nurse will have a pantiliner or pad on hand. There are various menstrual products available, including disposable pads with adhesive backings and adhesive wings that wrap around the sides of your underwear. These pads should be changed every 4-6 hours and thrown out after a single use.

How do you know what day your first period is coming?

The first period typically occurs between the ages of 10 and 14, with an average of just over 12 years old. It usually occurs two years after the first signs of puberty, usually breast development, and a year after pubic hair growth. Vaginal discharge may appear in the months leading up to the period. Factors influencing the age of the first period include nutrition, exercise, genetics, ethnicity, body size, geography, family income, structure, parental education, and illness and stress.

Which are the safe days of not getting pregnant?

Females can conceive at any time during their menstrual cycle, even just after their period. The chances of conception are low during and just after periods, especially if periods are irregular. Factors such as the length and regularity of the menstrual cycle, and when ovulation occurs, can influence the chances of conception. The ovaries usually release the egg 14 days before the start of the next period, but it is difficult to determine precisely when ovulation occurs. Early signs and symptoms of pregnancy can help determine the best time to get pregnant.

What is the Hindu ritual for first period?

In Southern India, particularly in Tamil Nadu, the Ritu Kala Samskara, or Half-Saree ceremony, is a ceremonial coming-of-age ceremony for young girls. This ceremony celebrates the first period of a girl and her entry into womanhood. After getting her first period, a girl is given a half saree, bathed in turmeric, and a pooja is performed to welcome her into womanhood. Her maternal uncle also gives her a saree, which is usually draped in the second half of the day. The ceremony is filled with good food, gifts, and money.

As someone who grew up far away from her hometown, the idea of everyone knowing about her menstruation was foreign to her. She was still struggling with the pangs of puberty and was anxious about the idea of being a “woman”. She was clad in a flimsy cloth covering her body, while men were gone to get groceries and supplies. She was then surrounded by her aunts, older sisters, and female cousins, who applied a paste of turmeric, rose water, and other pleasant smelling things to her exposed parts. The ceremony was a unique experience for the girl, who felt like a carrot cake doused in cream cheese frosting.

How do I predict my first period?

Menarche is a natural process that occurs between ages 11 and 14, with most people experiencing it around 12 and 12 ½ years after breast development. It can occur as early as 9 or as late as 15. Menarche can be affected by various factors, but it is common to occur around the same time as the birthing parent’s period. If you have intercourse during your first period, you can potentially become pregnant unless you are regularly using birth control. Intercourse can occur at any time, even while you are on your period.

What is good for first day of period?

Heat therapy is a popular method for reducing pain during periods, as it relaxes muscles, increases blood flow, and focuses on the abdomen to ease cramps. During the menstrual cycle, the body undergoes significant changes that can affect mood, including food cravings, disrupted sleep, cramps, headaches, and muscle soreness. To manage these symptoms, it is essential to practice self-care, such as talking to a physician about diet and exercise routine changes, and consulting a Women’s Health Institute provider about menstrual symptoms.

Some self-care strategies to keep hormones in check during the menstrual cycle include getting a good night’s sleep, as disrupted sleep can increase cortisol levels, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that can raise blood sugar, which can disrupt ovulation and period. Switching up your bedtime routine can help create consistent rest and support a healthy hormonal cycle. It is crucial to consult with a Women’s Health Institute provider about menstrual symptoms and ask any questions you may have.

Which day is good for first menstruation?

The mean age for the onset of menarche is 12-13 years, with some individuals initiating this process at an earlier or later age. The onset of menstruation typically occurs two to three years after the onset of breast growth.

What day should I count as first of period?

Menstruation occurs on days 1-5, during which the uterus sheds its lining from the previous cycle. New follicles develop within the ovaries, and the dominant follicle secretes oestrogen, increasing the thickness of the uterine lining for pregnancy. On days 5-12, the pituitary gland releases a surge of luteinizing hormone (LH), triggering the release of the mature egg from the ovary into the fallopian tube.

Sperm can survive for 2-3 days in the fallopian tubes, but the egg has a window of 12-24 hours for fertilization. The dominant follicle that releases the egg forms the corpus luteum, which releases progesterone and oestrogen to maintain the uterine lining.

  • I Love the way this is explained. I wish I can clear my mother’s misconception about the whole Menstrual Cycle. She don’t allow me to pray during my Shark Days. According to her God will Sin me if I do so. But I never listen to her, because I know I’m pure from my heart. God want us to be pure from our heart and I know I’m pure.

  • But I suffer more due to untouchability practiced during periods. During those days, i cannot sleep on bed. I have to sleep on floor, used uncomfortable bedsheets and ask for food and water and anything that I need from someone else. Attimes I have to wait for hours to get food and water coz my family members are busy. These rituals need to be changed. The problem is if I ask for this to be changed. I become a horrible daughter who hurts her family.🥺

  • Those days people didn’t have pads, tampons and even underwears. So blood was everywhere . Our ancestors also knew how difficult it is for woman during her period. So our ancestors “with a positive intention” made this ritual so that woman can rest & blood wouldn’t spill everywhere. You see??? But along with time, this ritual was misunderstood by people. They made us untouchable during this period. I tried my level best to convince my parents. There is no restrictions in my home now. It took me around 2 years to bring change in my home. Still, my parents get angry with me sometimes but that’s fine. I just wish everybody will fight for this 🥺 Love from Nepal 🇳🇵 Edit: to all those people saying women did use clothes during periods so blood wasn’t everywhere or things like that… Bruhhh they didn’t even have underwears . My own grandmother never got to use one. It hasn’t been that long since south asians women had access to underwears….. So you got the whole point right?

  • Guruji your reasoning for any explanation will open even the mind of an insane person, we the citizens of this Great Bharat Matha feel immensely proud to have such a Guru to guide us to know the secrets of life where even the modern science failed to discover the things you have detected, Pranaam Guruji.

  • Feeling good that few people are trying to make stupids understand that menstrual cycle is not impure… N we need to care more and love more in that period…. She works for 365 days… Can’t give her minimum 4 days rest every month…. Such a shame on those who create discrimination on the basis of PERIODS…. WE ARE WOMEN N STILL WORK EVERYDAY INSPITE OF SUCH A NEGATIVITY AROUND US IN PERIODS ❤️…. LOT’S OF LOVE TO ALL THE WOMEN’S READING THIS…. U DESERVE HAPPINESS 😉🤗

  • Respected Sadguru ji, To be honest I actually had the same thoughts when i started menstruating. At a glance I was imposed with certain restrictions on my house. In a house of 2BHK i was forbidden to enter the kitchen (as theirs’ a small temple in my kitchen and my mom worships platform which is a symbol of worshipping devtas and ancestors.), in hall also i was told to be confined only at my bed. 1 of the bedroom is been turned up to a Library which is my father’s occupation. In library too we have a small temple so yes i was forbidden to enter their too. The only place that remained was bedroom where their was nothing i could do. Soon i raised issues and got freedom to sit in library for studying but the freedom to access kitchen is still a long run. I had the same thoughts that it might gave me a break from my usual life until i was/am started treating like an untouchable, forbidden to enter 80%house, touch my mother/father/brother, couldn’t eat with them during these days etc. I calmed myself by saying that maybe it’s the sign of growing up. 1 day their was no one at my house and i felt thirsty to the next level. I called up my mom and brother asking when they’ll come home as i was feeling damned thirsty. They were stuck at a market, they came 2hr late..that’s when i realized that one should follow rituals only till the level where their is no harm caused to the society. You say of deity’s, I don’t feel that they would be happy seeing some girl in pain, hunger and thirsty all at a time.

  • I, as a boy would like to share my experience, i never realized why women feel so uncomfortable and weak during menstrual cycle UNTIL, one day i had a boil on my inner thigh which burst out and a bleeded for almost a hour. i started feeling so so weak i could barely walk. thought for some time abt womens menstrual cycle. Then i realised the amount of pain a woman could have due to continuos bleeding for 3-4 days. Guys pls respect women and this phase of thers. Dont let ur mother, sister, wife do any work during these days, its really very painful help them in all, literally all sorts of work.

  • I’ve always thought how awful for the menstruating woman to. be isolated from the rest because of this natural thing. How backward and misogynist to think that way. Thank you for enlightening me. Now it seems rather forward thinking and I think many women would love to have that time to rest and recoup their energy..

  • Tbh he’s such a great man ! People don’t understand the real pain of this cycle they just suppose that cramps, heachaches all these things are so minor but it is not!! Atleast People should care about the person whosoever have menstrual cycle atleast for 3-4 days it really plays a crucial role in her life. Thank you Sadhguru for this advice will show this article to that person who just don’t freaking care about this.

  • Wow! I had never really thought of it that way. Extremely wonderful point reminding us to think of the conditions that a woman had to deal with during the times that certain views were established. We have been applying modern beliefs to old beliefs way too much. Thank you for this adjustment to my thought process.

  • I was not knowing this so far and it is very obvious that majority of the population do not know about the science and the practical reasons about it but now i think so out side the temples there should be board explaining it correctly in a right context so that our women do not take it in a discriminated way.And as indivisual everyone should make sure that we should educate our upcoming generation about this in a very subtle way and at the right time.

  • I’m a 22 years old women n all my life I had made myself psychologically comfortable in believing that I’m a human n it’s my physiology that I menstruat n there is nothing unspiritual about it n had been to many temples n scared places n even prayed at my own home while I was on my period. I’m glad I had thought this n believed this when everyone around didn’t made this a happy thought to me (except my mom n dad) where my 6th class girls they themselves thought its something untouchable about themselves .I hope that they all see this article n realize it’s a natural phenomenon and Feel okay about it.

  • Talking about giving a break to the women during her periods is fine, but I don’t think women were given such breaks from their daily chores back then were politely done out of care or love. I’ve heard my ancestral women were said to sleep in a dark room, given a separate plate and cup to have their meals. Whoever touched them or their belongings were called impure. They weren’t allowed to sleep in beds like others. They weren’t allowed to enter kitchens saying that the food cooked in that kitchen will get spoilt if they entered. Such isolations doesn’t seem polite or haven’t come out of love. Even now I face untouchability in my ancestral home during my periods. Peoples’ reasons behind such mean rules are rude and blind. No logic behind any of their reasons. These days women enter kitchen and cook during their periods, most people have changed to that. We have more way to go with the period taboos in India.

  • Very true… It’s not impure…. People who don’t want to see face of a girl or woman on her menses must watch this. Giving rest doesn’t mean untouchable. It means give rest to them and understand her pain and give her love, affection and help her get back to her days again back… Give rest. Never treat them untouchable. Untouchability in any way is a crime….

  • i want to add something…. i am 43 now…. when i was studying 3rd, i lived in a small town near dindigul, tamilnadu…. there my neighbour was a brahmin…. i usually saw once in a while the neighbour lady just sit beyond ” ulakkai” ( i dont know the english word) and never leave the place for 3 or 4 days… all household activities would be done by her husband… from cleaning, sweeping, putting kolam outside, cooking, washing everything for 3 to 4 days he would do everything… she just relax and enjoy radio, magazines, etc…. i think actually only because of half baked feminist going to make women of this nation sick and slaves by refering psedo western feninism ( not western but communist supported feminism)…

  • Humans took it in a wrong way. But we are the leaders of the generation we must be given the first respect. We females should be the representative of God, as God creates human and through Women a human gets a life. But Women having humble attitude gave a chance to the men to handle a little bit but the Men thought they were the best and degraded a Women.

  • I am glad to be surrounded by educated and logical family..i even go to temples during periods..as logically it is almighty who created me and we are born due to this gift of nature…so at the end of the day..it is a very normal part of ur existense and should not barred from.doing anyhing..only logical and sensible will get it..rest just follow blindly without questioning reasons behind it….all u can do to show love to ur female loved ones is to care for them during this time

  • I love the way sadguru explained ❤it’s absolutely true if menses is impure than our birth is impure our creation is impure if their is no menstruation there is no next birth or next generation the people who thinks it’s impure they should change their thoughts but yet 😔😔but I face a lots of problems in mense 😢😥

  • I feel that i have more energy during my periods. My kundalini level is very high during my periods. I dont even do lot of yogas during those days but has soon has i sit for yoga my kundalini rises very high during periods than normal days. May be that time a woman need not go to temple in order to rise her spritual level. But it may misunderstood and stops her from entering temple. It must be the days where a women get high level of spritual level.

  • Agr mene kuch glt kh Diya hoga to plz mujhe maf kr dijiega…. Jb se sanitary pad aaye h ldkiya phle se zyada hygiene maintain krti h… Fir bhi kyu log hme chune se bhi inkaar krte h… 😔😔 Alg thali me khana – peena, alg sona, kisi cheez ko glti se bhi touch na hone Dena…. Ye kese restriction hote h…. Pta nhi mene sahi kaha ya glt…. Pr Jo bhi mhsus Kiya bs kh Diya…

  • When I’m on my period.i am not allowed to enter in kitchen for almost 5 days that’s fine for me because I can relax without doing any household work. Beside that I starve alot and when I want some food to eat, there comes the rules which is unacceptable . I stay outside the kitchen to eat in floor. I feel bad the way my grandmother treats me. She treats me as I’m impure person.

  • Thnku so much for this but koi faida nhi h hum jaise ladkiyo ko kabhi justice nhi milne wala h agar yeh baad mein apni parents se bolungi then there’re gonna kick me out from my house😢 thnku so much itna support karne ke liye par kuch nhi ho sakta jab mein apni mummy se que karti hu toh meri mummy bolti hain ki agar mene rules follow nhi kiye toh mere papa aur bhaiya pe bura asar parega which I dont want that to be happen isliye majboori mein mujhe chup reh kar yeh supertitions follow karne parte h😔 Please somebody read my comment and help us🙏

  • I really like the way sadguru gives ans of this question Also he said it’s a good thing to have rest for these days but as for this some people in home they still think women is impure can’t go temple but on the other hand they didn’t give her rest from cooking n all household Chores Modern person don’t stop her to enter kitchen but also they didn’t cook for her It makes me sad :(( Although all are not the same 🙂

  • Is that necessary to take normal bath or head bath immediately after getting periods? We have this practice in our home and all other restrictions as well.. at that time, we want to take rest.. but seriously saying, with these many restrictions these old minded people are not allowing us to take rest. Don’t touch anything not even the remote, don’t sleep on bed(knowing the fact that I can’t sleep on floor because of backpain and stomach ache), do head bath immediately after getting periods.. oh god.. what not..

  • 😢write this with tears in my eyes. Now it’s 2023. I was saddened to hear that the house was impure due to menstruation. No one in the house can go to the temple. Dear Sisters if you ever read this, please understand…God is always with us if our heart is pure. We too are God’s children. We never become impure. It is a sign of life and vitality.Never think of it as impure. Love you all.🥰

  • Guys. Please understand that a women going through menstruation 1000 years ago was not just isolated, she was bashed, and not even allowed to enter the freaking kitchen for water. It was discriminatory from the very beginning. Read history. Please. And a woman was not served and made food for she was neglected, mistreated and almost became untouchable for the house.

  • That’s why in those days women were made to rest on those days. Without understanding the real reason, nowadays the so called feminists argue against this practice and many women don’t take rest. One should accept that women are different from men, they are created differently for different purpose, by God.

  • There’s no point being untouchable or not allowed to go to temple to enter kitchen during period… the point is your ugly thought or the ugly excuse to follow such worse tradition in the so called modern India…We r girls we know our problems during periods…If your mother is not allowing you to be free person just like the normal days, let her be. Don’t argue cuz she won’t understand as she is being taught by your grandmother and who is being taught by the earlier generation..Just talk to her that you are not going to follow these pointless traditions. And of course your future generations too are not going to suffer like your mother. it’s our life girls,we have to take the decision not your parents…..

  • True! I also think that modern society does not pay enough attention to the natural processes that women undergo. Work environment is designed for men and their needs. Women are supposed to adjust to this. Which means constant performance every day is expected – as if every day we – the women – would function the same way. We are not machines, okay. A woman’s performance is very much affected by the hormones and the cyle of her body. I very much feel awful, almost depressed the days before my menstruation starts. This is just the natural process. I wish society would take this into account. A few days off from work (also the family work) each month or at least more support at this time would help a lot. Not only the women should get a few days off, but also their husbands and partners so that they could help her more at that time at home or overtake the family work. We want to treat men and women equally, but they are not equal. They have completely different body structures and needs. We should be aware of this and build societies which take this into account.

  • Periods are not a problem:the problem is not with the temples or the rituals..but the problem is with the persons who belive in anything blindly. parampara vahi tak nibhana chaiye jaha tak vishwa ka kalyaan ho. Jis parampara se vishwa (world) ko haani ho uss parampara ko rokna he sahi hota hai. Purane zamane me bal vivah, sati yeh sab islie band karvaye the kyuki yeh parampara se koi bhi laabh nahi tha. Vaise he Kalyug me, aaj ke zamane me bhi aisi 1 parampara, jisko band krne ka samay aane vaala hai voh hai masik dharma me hue jaane vaali chooth-achooth vaali ritiya. Science naa bhi mano par dil se dimag me taar laga ke socha jaaye toh yeh bhi kisi ke laabh ki nhi hai. Maasik Dharma, uske name ka anusaar aurato ka dharma hota hai, jise kisiko haani nahi hoti. Fir aap khud he vichaar kijie ki kya ab bhi yeh ritiya nibhani chaiye?

  • Finally someone explains it correctly. Period restrictions ain’t about impurity and are surely aren’t as strict and dumb as some people around us make it. Its just a way to chill during periods. If you are feeling uncomfortable due to those restrictions then they surely are being implemented wrong since the very purpose of it was to make us comfortable

  • In those first 3-4 days, we have to sit seperately, we are told not to touch anything.. even when i am thirsty or hungry i have to wait for someone to pour me some water or give me food! In the times of severe cramps, no one be there to hold your back!! And you are telling to think about why and how this was logical?? Its not logical now!!

  • Although my mum is so cool but in this point she also doesn’t allow me to enter the temple, today she kept fast so she was like don’t come near to me..i almost cried.. I pray to god that in my future pls bless me with daughters because i want to upbring my daughter in a way which my mom couldn’t not. Hari om

  • Sadhguru can you eloborate us on the MENOPAUSE. I have many difficult issues during my menopause right now and that is why I use bio identical hormones. I cannot sleep, my hands hurt (and I am a musician) my voice changes (I m a singer) I have no energy. My body changes so fast that my mind cannot adjust to it so quickly, I am getting overweight even though I eat healthy and exercise, and overweight just does not feels healthy. I have no energy and no inspiration anymore in life, my femininity changes so quickly that I don t even feel like a woman anymore….

  • India now has on stage of upgrade mode …..definitely we will reach there where these kind of prejudices aginst girls get impure will be vanished .. I m a girl .i very very proud of that …what i had i m going through menstruation….this normal .we all considered ourself as a child of god ..so what do u think we r aliens taken birth from …this is the point we girl start to take care of ourself, our body .and upcoming generations a new born offspring…….seriously this is pure thing …must not hate this … This is q part of our life!!!!!♡♡♡♡

  • Please forget about what was thousand years back. We have no control on the oast, as it is gone. Please comment on today’s scenario. Today suppose a woman who is mensurating, is having good sanitary products, has good painkillers, her own car and driver. Now please suggest if she can enter the temple. What is your view on that? Please don’t dodge the question by always going in past logic. Tell us yes or No? Can she go in the temple?

  • I showed this article to mom as she listens to sadguru, but here STILL UNTOUCHAIBLITY CONTINUES by name of God, EVEN I HAVE TOLD TO WASH whole clothes from my closet just bcz I accidentally touch the door of it, and have said to bath and wash hairs and what not ….. just hoping to get out of house 🥺😑😑😭

  • One of the reasons I left Islam was I couldn’t pray to my god while menstruation, something that happens for us and god made it isn’t impure, this knowledgeable dear gentleman is just like a kind logical father, I’m so happy that he clears this,we aren’t impure during that time,we can pray and be spiritual,no difference between women who are period or aren’t in god’s eyes❤

  • How smartly sadhguru divert the question or may be the question was asked which was already tweaked by sadhguru. The real question is nobody talk about rest, women are denied from entering temple and kitchen in this modern era too. Don’t talk about a thousand year ago, we are living in 2020. Talk about the present sadhguru, don’t make people fool.

  • Pranaam Guruji I absolutely agree with your statement about humans being born from women womb means everyone is impure then. But the fact is those days it was all about giving rest to all women’s during those difficult 4-5 days of period. Slowly this concept took place of superstitions which we are following till now. Thank you Guruji for sharing this useful information with us. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Om Namah Shivay 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🕉️🕉️🕉️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  • I wish my family knew this 😢 I really feel so bad when they give me seperate plates, make me sleep separate, not touching me, not letting me touch anything, calling me impure it hurt me so much .so many times I have locked up myself and cried 😢who said that keeping me seperate is good, it hurts me even more. when they make me sleep down on cold tiles its so cold I cannot even sleep my body aches😢 now also I am my periods and they scold me for touching the pillows which they use so only I came in search of this article

  • How come practical reasons include avoiding women during menses, making them sleep on floor . What ladies needs rest only during periods. Other times they are supposed to do all these jobs . They need a little rest everyday which can be offered by other family member’s help with the chores. Menses is something normal for women . No need to make it glorified or discriminated.

  • The problem occurs when such ignorant practices are forced upon us women. If I’m feeling absolutely alright, don’t need to rest, I’m mentally in a good place, nobody has the authority to enforce these irrelevant practices on us women! From my own experience, if the men of the household are made to understand this, then we can surely put an end to this.

  • Thank you so much sir. Now i confirm that I’m not wrong. Hamare yahan women’s ko period hota hai to unhe ghar se bahar rakha jata hai. Or mai iss baat ko support nahi karta hun, or ghar walo pe gusss karta hun. Gusse ki wajha se mere relation family ke sath kharab ho rahe hain. Meri baat nahi samjhte hain sir.

  • Tip – never tell people that u do pooja on your periods, you go to temple etc they may react normal in front of u but people around us are not as they show they are. I have seen educated and uneducated people carrying the same mindset that during periods we are impure. Follow your thoughts and knowledge and try to keep it private.

  • He is right about the psychological impact during menstruation. I personally find it very difficult to get out of bed during those days. I am irritated, i keep yelling at people, i need to take pain killers to deal with the cramps & i feel extremely sluggish on those days. So, who will go to a temple in such a situation. I am not of the sound mind to absorb the vibrations/energy in the temple because I am distracted and in pain. Sanitation during menstruation is also a huge factor. India has still not achieved proper sanitation & cleanliness in every part of the country, so imagine the condition of women in villages especially were there is water scarcity. Do u think they will be able to take a shower twice a day. Our ancestors knew all this. U want to empower women, then let police officers become powerful & encounter criminals like Yogi adityanath is doing in uttarpradesh.

  • Our culture were never told that mesuration is impure. When my sister first got her period there is ritual where we celebrate that like a festival. And think about olden days they don’t have pads and all kind of stuffs back then so they keep the women out or in one corner of house for some purpose it’s good for the women only so that they can’t get infected and that time it’s need and it’s has good reason.

  • Nothing is impure..every single thing we relase from our body is a natural process..but we should keep in our mind that temple is a very pure and cleanest place whenever we go to the temple we take shower 1st then we visit the temple.. Mnn ko shudh or body ko sudh rakh k hi mndir jate hai gandagi mehsus kr k keise jayenge.. Nd all the girls knows periods blood does smell bad.. How can u feel pure and clean during ur period just avoid going temple at that time it’s that easy

  • my mom believes in sadguru and likes his concepts.. i want to show this to her but she would scold me… she said that it is written in purans that women are impure and then she gave me this lecture and “scientific” proves of why women should not visit temples and all… she went like this: “women during her periods gives out negative energy, and to go near god u have to keep good positive energy, and the blood is coming out from ur vagina and u should not go to the temples with the blood still on ur pad, tell me do u pee in temple? or do u poop in temple? no right, that is why u dont go near god or near temple” well she said me this 3 year ago when i got my first periods and i believed it… but i still had this doubt…

  • Well what sadhguru says is true. She needs and deserves rest. She is also a human being. Well it is a good idea but how to implement it in real life? Some serious social structure needs to be changed if we have to implement it. Well even if we change the social structure and change the mentality of people, make some laws regarding paid leaves during menstruation period but still the question is will women want to stay at home? As most of the women today works outside. Will women stay at home even if we provide them rest and all other facilities?

  • he makes a lot of sense dont we wish it was like that today I knew something like you sanitary reason think about I long have a one how ever in last of them were horrible starting in my late 40s before it 3 days very very light no pms I was lucky shoot that all caught up with me like I said in my mid to late 40s then it poured

  • I belong to bhramins family and where there is saligrama you need to sit separately and I am very lucky and I personally like to sit separately coz my family doesn’t treat me bad, they are like relax just say if you want anything and I personally think that during periods our mood swings reaches to heights and sometimes some of us feel like killing and with this energy I don’t feel like going to kitchen coz that’s where the water is stored and that’s where water catches vibes around it but personally I feel that we as woman do a lot of work from morning to evening and sitting separately if family is super supportive is good idea as they too will learn how to do things like cooking like my bro and father do the cooking and cleaning thing and the fact that they treat it normal is what matters, as we all know not everyone is same, some may feel super energetic and some may go through rollercoaster of moods and by impure means not our blood but our thoughts, our thoughts will not be right, we get super angry, super anxious, feel like world should end and sometimes we even curse the womanhood which is definitely impure. If our thoughts bare pure then even the blood gets pure

  • Back one yr ago i said somewhere in social media a guy was saying some odd things about menstrual cycle and spreading wrong words about a post which was with a pad. I said this thing Thank God your mother had periods else today you would not be present here to say this. It is about rest but not impure somewhere in villages here I witness people Harrsing girls to sleep in floor in winter just to make sure they cant wash the mattress.. N she suffers her life every month she is treated as impure for 3 days by mistake watever she touches should be washed by her on the 3 rd day early morning ..

  • I always ended up doing fight with my family members during my periods. Them be like don’t touch anyone, don’t go in kitchen. They made me wash my clothes and dishes. Yahh .. I feel so disgusted, angry, frustrated due to their behavior. Once I accidentally touch my mother during my periods and she literally took a shower after that like am unholy…..

Tip of the day!
