Disney World Resort is celebrating its 50th anniversary with extended evening hours in select theme parks. Early Theme Park Entry, formerly known as “Extra Magic Hours”, is now available daily for guests staying at Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resorts. This new offering replaces the evening Extra Magic Hours, which ended in 2020. Currently, Disney Deluxe Resort Extra Hours are offered on Mondays at Epcot, either Tuesdays or Wednesdays at Magic Kingdom, and once at Hollywood.
In 2020, Disney World retired their Extra Magic Hours, replacing them with two new perks: Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. The park varies from day to day, with up to 16 extra theme park hours available each week. The time is exclusively for guests of the 24 Walt Disney Resort hotels.
Each day, at least one park in Disney offers Extra Magic Hours, either morning or night. For example, the Magic Kingdom offers 9:00 – 10:00, Epcot Future World offers 9:00 – 9:00, Epcot World Showcase offers 9:00 – 9:00, and Animal Kingdom offers 9:00 – 9:00.
Extended Evening Hours will first switch over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and then Animal Kingdom. Last year, the latter park hosted ExEH throughout the park. Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels have access to an added perk: Extra time in the theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Evening Extra Magic Hours are offered at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but not at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

What is replacing Extra Magic Hours?
In 2020, Disney World retired its Extra Magic Hours and introduced two new perks for guests staying on property: Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours. Early Theme Park Entry allows guests to enter the parks 30 minutes before opening, while Extended Evening Hours allow guests to stay in the parks after they close. These perks are available at Disney World Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green. These hotels offer extended hours on select nights at select parks, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of rides and attractions with lower wait times.
What is the Disney Four Seasons rule?
The 65th Episode Rule, introduced in the 1970s, allowed for a series to be broadcasted for a maximum of 13 weeks, a quarter of a year. This change was accelerated by the rise of dedicated channels like Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon, as well as more ratings-driven decisions and fewer instances of shows finding an audience despite lower ratings. Additionally, shows were often cancelled before the completion of a current season, necessitating a midseason replacement.
New technology like DVRs, Video-on-Demand, and episodes were also introduced, allowing viewers to watch shows on their preferred schedule. Currently, the number of episodes in a season varies, with 18 to 39 being the current range for a full season. Seasons can be split into two segments, with the second segment being referred to as a half season or a “new” season. These factors make it challenging for modern shows to reach the 65-episode mark and can end with fewer episodes as having more than 65 episodes.
Do you get Extra Magic Hours at Swan and Dolphin?
The Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve hotels at Walt Disney World are eligible for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours (EETPH), which was announced as part of the Disney World 50th Anniversary and has continued since. These Extended Evening Hours provide qualifying guests with two extra hours in the parks after closing to day guests. The Swan and Dolphin are not part of the official Walt Disney World Resorts Collection, but they are often considered Good Neighbor Hotels, which have Disney World’s stamp of approval for comfort, value, and quality.
These hotels are not owned or operated by Disney, but can be booked on Disney’s website. They offer some Disney World extras that are typically reserved for “on-site” guests and offer a Guest Services desk to help with vacation planning and transportation to the theme parks.
Does four seasons Disney get Extra Magic Hours?
Four Seasons Resort Orlando offers guests the Extra Magic Hours benefit, allowing them to enjoy select attractions during early or extended hours at one of the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks. This benefit may also be available at a Disney Water Park during select dates. To use the Extra Magic Hours hotel benefit, guests need a valid Extra Magic Hours voucher from the resort and a valid Walt Disney World® theme park ticket. Does Hollywood Studios have extended evening hours?
Starting September 25, 2024, Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World will resume Extended Evening Hours from 9 pm to 11 pm, taking over from Magic Kingdom, which will host ticketed late night events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. What time are EPCOT fireworks?
Luminous at EPCOT is a 17-minute fireworks showtime that takes place every night at 9:00pm or 9:30pm. It features characters like Luminous: Symphony of Us, which is perfect for Disney Park and Epcot fans. The show removes screens and barges while keeping familiar Disney songs. It pays tribute to all things Epcot, including old rides, shows, and attractions. Sound clips of Walt Disney discussing EPCOT and its future as an experimental prototype community are heard. The show also includes songs about family bonds, friendship, and two new original songs. The show is perfect for tired families and offers a memorable experience for all who attend.
Can you ride Guardians of the Galaxy during extended evening hours?
The Guardians of the Galaxy: The Cosmic Rewind virtual queue commences at 6:00 p. m. during Extended Evening Theme Park Hours (EETPH), with no standby queue. During this period, the only means of accessing the ride is through boarding groups. It can be reasonably assumed that those who derive enjoyment from the game would also be amenable to waiting periods at each EPCOT crowd level.
What park has Extra Magic Hours?
The evening Extra Magic Hours program allows Disney resort guests to enjoy a different theme park on specified nights for about 2 hours after it closes to the general public. Guests pay no additional charge but must scan their MagicBands at each ride or attraction they wish to experience. They can also show up at the turnstiles at any point after evening Extra Magic Hours have started.
Evening sessions are usually more crowded at the Magic Kingdom and the Studios than at Epcot, with lines at headliner attractions still long at midnight during summer. To tour during Extra Magic Hour Evenings, guests should stay until the end of the event, as lines may not diminish until the last 30-60 minutes.
Guests must show their valid resort room key before entering the queue for an attraction, and if arriving at a theme park during Extra Magic Hours, they must show their room key at the turnstiles. Valid park admission is required to enter a theme park, so if you visited another park earlier in the day, your ticket must have the Park Hopper option.
Evening Extra Magic Hours at Epcot are often not beneficial as EMH extends the closing time to 11 p. m. or midnight most nights of the year, and guests are spread among a small number of open attractions. Evening Extra Magic Hours at Animal Kingdom were discontinued in Spring 2011 and are no longer offered. Food offerings may be limited during Extra Magic Hour Evenings, and FASTPASS is not available during these hours except during busiest times of the year.
