Who is Asta’s father?
Black Clover’s final major arc has introduced gods, brought dead characters back to life, and addressed some mysteries. A popular fan theory suggests that Julius Novachrono, the Wizard King, might be Asta’s father due to his abundance of magic and life force. However, this theory has some issues, as Julius is part of the powerful Zogratis siblings and it seems unlikely that he would have created Asta as a weapon. Other theories propose different possibilities for Asta’s father.
The series has turned from mildly magical to deeply supernatural and cosmic, with the Magic Knights Captains killed or on the verge of death, gods introduced, and the dead brought back to life to torment their loved ones. The series depicts the differences between Asta and Yuno, who are working towards becoming the next Wizard King. He also receives a powerful Four-Leaf clover grimoire, which brings good luck, and an additional grimoire in the Spade Kingdom, which is originally his, as he uses Star Magic. This highlights the magic difference between Asta and Yuno, as they both strive to become the next Wizard King.
What is my magic attribute Black Clover?
Mages possess a unique attribute called ‘zokusei’, which is a specific nature of their mana. These attributes are derived from the four major elements in the world: fire, water, wind, and earth. Other magical attributes, such as smoke magic and ice, are derived from these elements. Some cultures have developed unnatural or irregular magic attributes over the centuries, such as chain, steel, spatial, and time.
Common magic attributes include fire and water, while rare attributes like light and space are rare. A mage can only have one magic attribute and cannot use magic of any other nature. For example, a mage born with fire cannot use spells from other types of magic.

Asta initially has a rough style due to his unconventional sword and basic training from Fanzell Kruger. Over time, he develops greater skills through battle experience, additional swords, and ki-sensing.
What is my Black Clover grimoire?
In Black Clover, a Mage’s Grimoire is their most crucial equipment, containing important magic spells that cannot be used with mana alone. Each Grimoire is unique and can only have one user at a time, but can sometimes harness multiple forms of magic. Mages share a special connection with their spell books, which empowers magic use. As a user refines their magic talent, they can create original spells.
A Mage’s will may manifest a specific spell to help in a time of need, and the new spell appears on one of the Grimoire’s blank pages. This makes the spell books a beautiful legacy of a Grimoire’s past users.
📹 Explaining Magic In Black Clover – Everything You Need To Know + Every Type Explained
In this video today we’re going to be explaining Magic in Black Clover. Everything from the basics of magic and mana, how it …
There is a simpler way. As with almost all BC characters, the meaning of your first or last name will be your magic. Ex: My real name is Daniel, “God is my judge”. So I would have a magic related to the divine, like light magic, or related to authority, like scale magic. Pushing a little, maybe I could even have spirit or soul magic.
106 anti magic. Lol. Wonder how thatd work with speaking, barriers, traps, mana zone, and creation. The only thing i could think of on mana zone would be the ability to just straight up create an aoe antimagic field by infecting the surrounding mana with antimagical properties, effectively just cutting everyone else in the radius off from magic. Thatd be op asf. AM barriers would be cool, effectively a more concentrated version of the mana zone. Not sure how the traps, speaking, and creation thing would work, though..
It’s not that plant magic is more defensive innately, but that was Mimosa’s character to be more in the shadows and support based. As Asta meets her she comes out of her shell more and learns an offensive spell. So every element can be as offensive based and or defensive based as any other, a good example is Charlotte’s briar magic, which is basically just 90% offensive plant magic.
I had a former friend who basically wanted “Mary Sue magic.” She wanted all the attributes and types otherwise she wasn’t interested in anything, and felt this way out of basically her feeling it was owed to her, her not getting what she wanted and her feeling like the world was against her. She almost made me give up on Black Clover thankfully that didn’t happen.
“…so many potential magic abilities…” Someone needs more experience with pen-and-paper role-playing games. 😉 I’m a GURPS fanboy, so I’ll just demonstrate with it… and feel free to bail anyone without even a shred of interest. Still reading? Okay. As I only have the rules for the standard magic system of GURPS (Third Edition; Revised) handy, I’ll be using that. Even though the Fourth Edition is nearly 15 years old. It didn’t change too much between the editions. Plenty of similarities with Black Clover, plenty of differences too (which isn’t surprising). Before I begin, GURPS (Generic Universal Role-Playing System) is designed to be tailored to what you need; there are multiple magic systems that can be used separately, together or replaced with something of your own design. Even within the default, the “standard” magic system, there are rules for creating your own spells and colleges of magic. I’m going to skip any other details because I realized this post was already stupidly long. XD For spell classes, we have: Area Blocking Enchantment Missile Regular Resisted Special Anything other than Blocking can be cast as a “Ceremonial” spell, allowing others to contribute their energy to it. So for official colleges and sub-colleges, we have: Animal Body Control College Communication & Empathy Elemental Air -Electricity -Weather Elemental Earth Elemental Water -Acid -Ice -Weather (again) Enchantment Food Gate Healing Illusion & Creation Knowledge Meta (from before it was cool: 1994!
The idea of how the magic/spells is/are produced in Black Clover is pretty interesting I must say. 😌💯 My favorite creation magic happens to be Noelle’s & Yami’s!! 😤🌊⚔ (Asta may not have geuine, pure magic abilities but i do like the anti magic & badass abilities he has with his sword tho ⚔) Despite how bad everyone says this series is whether it’s the plot, graphics, characters, voice acting, etc… it’s not that bad and I will continue to watch this series all the way through to the end! 🙌🏽 (I don’t read the Manga sadly haha 😅) Great job on the article man, it was worth the watch!! 😁👌🏽
A note to the content creator 75 to 80 percent of your audience will probably of been drawn to this article due to their viewership/fandom of the Anime not the manga, no matter what anyone says when it comes to comics vs TV or film the audience on the article side of things will always be larger That being said i wonder how many people turned off after a negative comment parroted from a negative sect of fans of all things manga and anime (we call them elitist snobs in the real world) was introduced at the start of the article, not the smartest move maybe? Especially if you havent actually watched the anime and have only binge read the manga, your articles are good man dont alienate your audience for the sake of pandering to “real anime/manga” fans cause they arent the ones perusal your article they already get all this stuff without a youtube article explaining it
I think later down they will reveal that the 4 elements are not the basis for all magic, no way magics like Time, Dream, Paint, Sword and Anti magic, etc. fall under any of the 4 main elements. Even if we mixed the 4 elements in different ways things like dreams and sword cannot be derived from it. So maybe there will be other core elements or maybe magics like dream ad so on are already a core attribute onto themselves. I think Dark and Light will be revealed to be their own core magic types..just like how it was in Naruto.
In the latest chapter they just explained how to create a 5 leaf also a ‘new user’ of it. His powers are of a 5 leaf but you never see it’ since he likely the embodiment of the 5 leaf that being ‘despair’ itself. I have no idea how Asta has the despair (outside of no magic) but I’m assuming there’s a backstory for Asta and Yuno incoming after the current arc.
A few things you forgot, and one thing I thought: (Spoiler warning) – Licht and Asta’s Magic (or lack thereof) are the same, and are the same grimore at that, just when Asta got it, it was corrupted by a demon. And Licht has a metric fuck-ton of magic, allowing him to override the mana-absorption of the swords. – Blood-Magic also allows the user to nullify Curses (I’m guessing its just a higher form of magic, that detriments the user hits by it, usually used by ash magic users) – You forgot to mention Time Magic coming from a Zero-Clove Grimore, and rivals Light Magic in terms of speed (through technicalities) – The demon I mentioned in Asta’s grimore is what allows him to access Black/Demon Asta from – Slash Magic’s definition is wrong, it doesn’t get sharper, it adjusts to whatever magic its up against to allow the user to cut through the opponents magic. – Thread Magic is detectable by Magid/Mana sensory, its just extremely difficult to, as theres a negligible amount of mana used in them. – World Tree/Yggdrasil Magic requires the user to release roots, absorbing mana from whomever the user deems an enemy, and then a fucking massive tree shows up out of nowhere, capturing many opponents. -Im pretty sure Mana Zone is used by the user releasing their mana into the environmental mana, thus mixing it and allowing the user to use the mana. Aside from these few things, good article, well done research. (yes this is a ‘repost’ because my retarded ass accidentally deleted the other one)
There might be one more person with out magic that being the previous owner of Asia’s book considering some of the villains made mention of it belonging to their master also i think it was mentioned that in order to use that book the user must not have any magic, correct me if I’m wrong on any account
I wanted to get into the show but I’m just a technical nerd, and low-key how are Grimoires made from a magicians mana and if the magician dies the Grimoires disinterested, and only a 5clover Grimoire will be good after it’s user dies until a new one is compatible, so does that mean that all Grimoires in the Grimoire towers are 5clover Grimoires, logically… (5clover Grimoire; Unlike ordinary grimoires, a five-leaf clover grimoire does not disintegrate upon its owner’s death. Instead, it goes dormant until a new compatible user claims it.)
This magic system just reinforces my idea that the author is pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes and having fun doing it. To say this magic system is nonsensical is putting it mildly. There are four elements, except that really isn’t important because it’s not true. Grimoire’s hold spells and deus ex machina add spells, some people apparently have lot’s of pages, some people only have one. Again this makes no sense because books can have blank pages, what exactly limits a book to only a few or 1 page and the starting amount of spells since it’s not the amount of mana a person has? Never mind intelligence is completely irrelevant (in terms of creating magic, not how it’s used) as apparently all you need to create ‘new’ or add magic spells is… need (or luck). Asta is supposed to have no mana and can’t use magic except on some level he clearly can. He can summon his sword from ‘his’ grimoire, he can ‘use’ anti magic like others use magic to at least a limited extent. And there’s the small matter of his grimoire floating around like everyone else’s while “in use” even though again, he can’t use magic. The crazy thing is almost everyone in this world is so dumb that absolutely no one is curious about this or his grimoire except apparently crazy Sally (and possibly Julius). Oh, and everyone get’s a grimoire (or scroll depending on where you are which also makes no sense), except that’s not true either. I get that Asta’s circumstance is different but according to the apparent ‘rules’ of this world he should have gotten a grimoire he couldn’t use, not not gotten a grimoire at all.
Im hoping that after the devil ark is completely done and the new enemy arises we get different power. more so power that are either different or used different thus changing how the main characters fright. like how in yu yu hokisho physic art. we got a dud you made fighting completely useless. a guy who can hit you over 500 meters away, and a kid that can turn any article game real and you had to play by games rules.
I starter black clover ignoring all the bad reviews and dropped it soon after due to my understanding of magic being a static constant you’re born with. This is a major problem for it as a series because if you can’t grow your magic power over time, how will the character develop as a person. Doesn’t matter how much magic control a commoner has when he’s blasted by someone with superior magic capacity. In this sense, shounen anime constantly has to bring in stronger and stronger enemies to show the various main characters’ development. Sooner or later, an enemy will appear with so much magic power that all our main characters can do is lose or the author pulls a delete button out of his ass. Maybe the magic counter Asta is the counter to this but the inability to grow magic having it be the dividing standard in the world cripples this show. Came to this article to see if I was wrong and magic was capable of development but no…nothing of that sort. Multiple people always trying to say it’s really good and i just can’t see it.
I think types of magic can be listed like that: Earth Wind (and) Fire Water Light Dark Special Special being more strange types of magic like Time or Painting. There can also be hybrids of different types like Mercury (water and earth) or glass (fire and earth) with exception of polar opposites like light and dark or water and fire. Kinda reminds me of Hunter x Hunter with how it is build.
This article has shown me that the magic category system is as reliable as power levels in Dragon Ball. Meaning that it’s all a lie and the only limit seems to be your twisted imagination. Looking at these magic “types” it just seems like you can’t use the other elements directly. Like what does dream, reincarnation, or memory magic stem from? Also how is vortex magic not a form of anti-magic? This four element thing made me more confused than I was before perusal this article.
