The FBI’s investigation into Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign has ended, with the Department of Justice stating that it found no evidence of collusion between the campaign and Russia. The FBI relied too heavily on tips provided by Trump’s political opponents to fuel the probe, according to US Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol by Trump supporters voted in favor of the investigation. A Russian analyst who worked on a dossier linking Trump to the Kremlin has been arrested in the US. The investigation into Russian interference and Donald Trump has spawned numerous offshoots, making it difficult to keep track. The Trump Tower meeting in June 2016 was allegedly “to get information on an opponent” and was “totally legal and done all the time in politics”. The Trump-Russia affair has lasted nearly two years, with the special counsel-led investigation looking into the FBI’s probe ending. The Steele dossier, a controversial political opposition research report, has been criticized for its potential legal ramifications. The Mueller report, officially titled Report On The Investigation Into Russian Interference In The 2016 Presidential Election, found no evidence of collusion between the campaign and Russia in the 2016 election.

Trump being directly influenced by Putin is something I guessed to be the case long ago already. It is something I would expect Putin to attempt and Trump to fall for. It isn’t at all hard to get Trump to believe you if you telling him the kinds of things he wants to believe while also stroking his ego and buttering him up, and we know that Putin regularly and publicly strokes Trump’s ego and butters him up.

Trump should never have been allowed to have a private meeting with a foreign leader without witnesses or written transcripts. We need a new law that protects us from this secrecy. Who would have thought that a rat–like president, like Trump, would have squeezed himself into the holes of our government. Trump has shown us the holes in our laws which need to be changed. Trump’s undermining tactics never should have been accepted.
