Which Religion Is The Source Of Astrology?

Astrology, a branch of mathematics, has its roots in calendrical systems used to predict seasonal shifts and interpret celestial cycles as signs of divine communications. Originating in Mesopotamia around the 3rd millennium BC, it spread to India and developed its Western form in Greek civilization during the Hellenistic period. Astrology entered Islamic culture as part of the Greek tradition and was returned to European culture through Arabic learning during the Middle Ages.

The belief in astrology is separate from any faith, as it does not worship any god or lack of one. Astrology is based on various pagan divinatory practices over the centuries and is related to nature religions, which assume that nature is inhabited and governed by magical powers, demons, and gods.

The earliest evidence for astrology dates from the 3rd millennium BC, with roots in calendrical systems used to predict seasonal shifts. Hindu natal astrology originated from the Vedanga Jyotisha, the earliest Vedic text on astronomy. Astrology’s DNA is found in countless religions and traditions around the globe, including the Mayans, Aztecs, druids, and ancient Egyptians. Astrology is entirely compatible with rigorous religious faith, and it is a graceful leap to imagine that a God created the universe.

Is astrology allowed in Christianity?

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that divination, including predictive astrology, is incompatible with modern Catholic beliefs, such as free will. It rejects all forms of divination, including horoscopes, palm reading, omen interpretation, clairvoyance, and mediums, which conceal a desire for power over time, history, and other human beings. These practices contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear owed to God alone.

Astrology and science, Christian mysticism, Christianity and paganism, Esoteric Christianity, Jesus Christ in comparative mythology, Jewish views on astrology, Muslim views on astrology, and William Lilly’s book Christian Astrology are all considered incompatible with modern Catholic beliefs.

What does the Bible say about astronomy?

Psalm 19:1:1-6 celebrates God’s glory and the sun’s position in the sky. Psalms 81:3 and 104:19 discuss God’s creation of the moon to mark seasons. In Isaiah 38:1-8, God performs a miracle to prove King Hezekiah’s sickness and save the city from destruction by making the shadow on the royal sundial go backwards. These psalms highlight God’s greatness and the importance of seasons in the Hebrew calendar.

What does Islam say about astrology?

The earliest Islamic stance against astrology can be traced back to individuals such as Abd al-Jabbar and Abu Ma’shar al-Balkhi, who sought to justify the causal influence of celestial beings on terrestrial life forms. Historical texts like Kitab al-Daraj provide evidence of the presence of astrology in early Islam. However, even before these individuals, historians and theologians like Al Hashimi sought to justify the role of astrology in influencing Islamic adherents’ religion.

Al Hashimi, through philosophers like Masha Allah, explored the possibility of the influence of stars on one’s morality and religion in general. He cited Masha Allah’s idea that the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s birth was a result of a coming together of celestial objects, essentially pointing to the inherent birth of Muhammad as a result of astrological events. Both Masha Allah and Al Hashimi draw upon similarities but draw upon their inherent stance in pointing to the planets, stars, and other celestial beings as the primary means by which divine rule is exercised, i. e., how God emanates control over all life forms.

Early Muslims relied on the sun and moon to determine important things such as the direction of Mecca, fasting times for Ramadan, and the beginning and end of each month. They used astrology and the position of the planets to predict the health and well-being of individuals, with eclipses in Libra, Aquarius, or Gemini being predictions of worldwide plagues, and comets or shooting stars being predictions of famine and sickness.

Many interpretations of the Quran point to astrology as that which goes against the fundamental principles preached by the Islamic religious tradition. Astrology ultimately points to the role of celestial beings in influencing terrestrial life and the everyday lives of individuals, ultimately hindering their destiny. Various excerpts from the Quran are interpreted to disprove this theory, with the Quran in Surah Al-Jinn suggesting that any such presence of extraterrestrial influence on mankind is not plausible and is therefore haram (forbidden) in Islam.

The Hadith, a reference to the instructions and practices of Muhammad, encourages adherents of the Islamic faith to embody the concept of astrology. Muhammad made various claims regarding the legality/illegality of astrology with regards to the Islamic religious tradition, such as the belief that rain is a bounty bestowed only by Allah (God). The Hadith makes specific mention to the stars, suggesting that those who suggest rain originates as a result of a star are a disbeliever in Me (Allah).

This works to fundamentally embody the concept of astrology and the consequent belief in the idea that celestial beings have an influence on anything other than what enshrined in the Quran and Hadith as shirk (blasphemy), leading one to leave the fold of the religion.

Is it a sin to read horoscopes?

Horoscopes are used by Christians to predict their future, demonstrating their faith in the stars and their value. This practice is considered idolatry and is considered an abomination to God. Christians should live by faith, not by sight, as it is God’s design. Horoscope reading is an abomination to God, as He has stated that there will be no other God before Him. Divination is the art of foretelling future events or revealing occult knowledge through augury or alleged supernatural agency. Printing horoscopes is considered divination, as it is the supposed diviner’s inspiration.

Is astrology paganism?

In contrast to the cyclical observances of the pagan sun festival, astrology is not directly linked to the annual sun cycle. This is because in earlier forms of astrology, the positions of the planets were not considered.

Where did astrology come from in the Bible?

The text is part of an astrological tradition in medieval Middle Eastern Christian and Islamic communities, attributed to biblical prophets Daniel and Ezra. Daniel, a celestial scholar, is often depicted as one who sees detailed visions of the future. In Syriac Christian communities, astrological texts were sometimes appended to medical and liturgical books. An example is CCM 00178, part of a manuscript containing liturgical prayers and texts for the Eucharist. Daniel is also considered the author of the Arabic book of astrology, Malḥamat Dāniyāl, also known as Kitāb Dāniyāl al-nabī, “Book of Daniel the prophet”.

What does the Bible say about numerology and astrology?

In Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (King James Version), it is stated that no individual shall be found who makes their son or daughter pass through fire, uses divination, observes times, enchants, or consults with familiar spirits. Additionally, the text specifies that no one shall be found who is a wizard or a necromancer.

Where did astrology originate?

Where did astrology originate?

Astrology has been a significant cultural tradition for centuries, with various cultures including the Indians, Chinese, and Maya developing elaborate systems for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations. The Old Babylonian period of Mesopotamia saw the practice of astrology, with Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa being one of the earliest known Hindu texts on astronomy and astrology. Chinese astrology was elaborated in the Zhou dynasty, and Hellenistic astrology after 332 BCE mixed Babylonian astrology with Egyptian Decanic astrology in Alexandria. Alexander the Great’s conquest of Asia allowed astrology to spread to Ancient Greece and Rome, where it was associated with “Challean wisdom”.

After the conquest of Alexandria in the 7th century, astrology was taken up by Islamic scholars, and Hellenistic texts were translated into Arabic and Persian. In the 12th century, Arabic texts were imported to Europe and translated into Latin. Major astronomers like Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler, and Galileo practiced as court astrologers. Astrological references also appear in literature, with poets like Dante Alighieri and Geoffrey Chaucer and playwrights like Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare.

Astrology was considered a scholarly tradition, accepted in political and academic contexts, and connected with other studies such as astronomy, alchemy, meteorology, and medicine. However, new scientific concepts in astronomy and physics called astrology into question, leading to its decline in academic and theoretical standing.

What does God say about astrology?

In Matthew 28:18, Jesus asserts that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him. This contradicts biblical wisdom, as chasing after false gods is a sin. There is no biblical evidence that God has given authority to stars or astrologists. Pursuing predictions about our destiny or personality is biblically sinful, as it takes power from God and gives it to something other than God. A horoscope cannot change what God has already ordained before we were even created.

Which religion believes in numerology?

Gematria, a Jewish tradition that assigns mystical meaning to words based on their numerical values, is also known as numerology. Numerology, also known as arithmancy, is the belief in an occult, divine, or mystical relationship between a number and coinciding events. It is the study of the numerical value of letters in words and names, often associated with astrology and other divinatory arts. Numerologists can be those who place faith in numerical patterns and draw inferences from them, even if they do not practice traditional numerology.

The term arithmancy is derived from two Greek words – arithmos (meaning number) and manteia (meaning divination), and is derived from the Greek words arithmos (meaning number) and manteia (meaning divination). Arithmancy is the study of divination through numbers, with the word “numerology” not recorded in English until c. 1907.

  • I remember learning this for the first time a few years ago that Jesus is a myth. I was shocked, scared, angry, confused and depressed. I grew up as a Christian my whole life. And I felt lost and betrayed…maybe even lied to. But after some time and doing more research, I’ve accepted it and continued to live my life as a human being by sharing, growing, and loving. Humanity will go on and continue to evolve just as it always has. There is life outside of man made religion. But what a person decides to follow or worship is an individual right, just as long as it doesn’t inflict prejudice or harm onto others.

  • While I disagree with your conclusions, I will say this is the most comprehensive explanation of the zodiac and its relationship to world religions. Thank you so much for providing such a well presented article. I am deleting about 90% of the saved articles I have on the same subject that don’t cover half of what you covered here.

  • Even without all of the comparisons to other pagan gods, the bible is clearly about astrology and sun worship. This also explains something that I found very confusing when I was still a believer. In Revelation 19 : 15, 16, it says that Jesus will rule with a rod of iron. but in Revelation 2 : 26, 27, it says that Jesus will give power to “him”, and he shall rule them with a rod of iron. Jesus also said that he will give “him” the morning star, whereas in Revelation 22 : 16, Jesus says that he himself is the bright morning star. I always wondered who Jesus was talking about. Now I understand that the “him” that Jesus was referring to, is the water bearer Aquarius. Luke 22 : 10 – And he said unto them, Behold, when ye enter into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in. (KJV) When the age of Aquarius begins between 2150 – 2160. Jesus will be passing the torch so to speak, onto the next house of the zodiac.

  • Very interesting info, thanks – still, the Sun does not die in the Crux constellation. The reference of dying on the cross is the Sun’s death on the analemma – which is the origin of the ancient Egyptian ankh and later became the Christian cross. The ankh is the cross they refer to when the Sun (Jesus), “God’s only sun” stays in seemingly the same position for 3 days, then resurrects and keeps going on his eternal journey on the ankh.

  • Very interesting although I noticed you didn’t do deep research if you think they said Jesus was born on December 25th in the texts he was not born at that time. The religion was totally different until they tried to get Pagans to convert, that is when they adopted these numbers and days. I would like to see a deep research on each religion that adopted other’s to help convert and what the original religion was before it was bastardized.

  • This just simply means that gods with the same characteristics/descriptions/information were made up by writers of the different ages until like 2000 years ago, victors of the latest god story holders won the war and their god story went on and on and flourished on the different parts of the world which has been used up until today.

  • First, I have no agenda or ax to grind on either side. I don’t belong to any religion. I’m just seeking the truth whatever it may be. As such, I feel the need to point out several problems with this article… While there are several parallels between Horus and Jesus, many of the ones listed here are exaggerated or flat out false. Taking everything this article says on faith–without fact checking and realizing that there are often no credible, historically accurate sources to base many of these claims on–is doing the very thing this article is supposedly condemning. Get a good book on comparative mythology or comparative religions written by a credible scholar–not Wikipedia or self-published material online. Question everything, even those who claim to be free thinkers!

  • Did Jesus Exist? 1014 During my time as a volunteer in youth ministry there was one teenager (I’ll call him Tim) who attended our parish events only because his parents made him go. As a result, he loved sowing seeds of doubt among his peers. At one of our teen nights my youth minister pulled me aside and said, “Trent, I need you to be in Tim’s small group.” “How come?” I asked. “Well, he has been arguing in his group that God doesn’t exist, and he’s been so vicious about it that he made one of the other kids cry.” I quietly sat in with Tim’s group as they discussed the question “How would you rate your personal relationship with Jesus?” Participants were supposed to rate their relationship on a scale from one to ten. The most common answer the teens gave was “seven,” because “ten” seemed unattainable and “one” would invite scrutiny from the youth leader. When it was Tim’s turn, he said, “Zero. The Bible is a myth, and there is no evidence outside of the Bible to prove that Jesus even existed.” The mythic The idea that Jesus of Nazareth is a fictional character, like Batman, is a fringe view among historians. This view, commonly called mythicism, was first argued seriously by the quirky nineteenth-century German critic Bruno Bauer. Karl Marx was one of Bauer’s students, and after mythicism became popularized by Arthur Drew’s 1909 book The Christ Myth, this view became the de facto belief among communists. The Soviet Union mandated the teaching of mythicism in public schools and banned materials that attempted to refute it (Leslie Houlden, Jesus: The Complete Guide, 729).

  • The holy Bible says that the firmament would declare the truth of God. The anti-diluvian people, Adam, Seth, Enoch were the ones to figure out the zodiac and what it was prophesying. Why not believe that at the Tower of Babel that knowledge was spread throughout the world and was associated to their own gods. It shows me the common denominator in all religions is the zodiac and that sits in the firmament that God created and said would declare his handiwork and who he is and what he’s going to do. That makes it miraculous. Religion isn’t just a myth. Some may be but not all are.

  • 2:41 look at Horus: the serpent swallowed the sun! (That surely looks interesting to a catastrophist like me) (Also when I look at the eye, I always think of Jimmy’s / Bright Insight article about the Eye of the Sahara being Atlantis: it sure looks a bit like that symbol from satellite view / Google earth view / view of a falcon flying above). – Look at the Head / Eye of the Falcon itself: it’s the shape of the Eye of the Sahara (Atlantis) again. 3:08 wait: Horus is holding the staff straight, while Seth holds it at an Angle: that’s the (slightly) tilted axis again… 6:35 the three kings and the star in the east = Orion’s Belt plus Sirius point to the where the sun rises at the winter solstice. Orion’s Belt always points at Sirius: the question is: when does the line point to sunrise. And that date is going to wander with the Great Year / Precession, no? That can’t always coincide with Winter Solstice – that doesn’t make sense. Also doesn’t get the timing right for Virgo… – when was Virgo ever in December? Also: the Winter solstice represents the birth, and not the death / the cross. – In a circle rebirth would come right after death (ok: three days) but resurrection is Easter and not Christmas… – you will never have Christmas and Easter at the same date, no matter what constellation or time of the great year. It’s just not setup correctly. The three Kings in the story were not attending the crucifixion… – something doesn’t add up. 14:38 the sun on the cross arisen between the fishes

  • I swear I have known this inside myself for a long time. I’ve always said it all came from our ancestors looking up! The sun. The stars. Now I want to do my own research, if anyone can recommend any books on this topic please share them with me. On a side note I’m really laughing to myself at the irony christians mock astrology and the zodiac, saying it is nonsense! There would be no christianity if not for our ancestors mapping the skies! 🤯🤯🤯

  • I really appreciate all the work i imagine u put in this but there were a couple things that were inaccurate like bet lachem being a place in the sky not on earth, there is a place called bet lachem and it’s in Isreal (i live there) it has been named that for years, it could be named after the costalations but it is a real place and has been

  • Just a note: in December, Orion’s belt and Sirius are on the OPPOSITE side of the sky as the sun. Therefore, the graphic in this article at 7:01 is misleading and hyperbolic. It is true, however, that it is in the winter when Orion’s Belt and Sirius are visible in the night sky, as they are hidden by the sun’s light in the summer. But certainly, they do NOT align in the way this article exaggerates visually. Similarly, it is a gross exaggeration to claim that the southern cross constellation and the sun are in the same vicinity during December 22, 23, & 25 (as seen at 8:50). During this time, in parts of the world where the southern cross is actually visible (Egypt being about as far north as one can go to even see this constellation, barely), the sun is almost on the complete opposite end of the sky as this constellation. Don’t believe me? Download the free software “Stellarium” and investigate for yourself. These 2 claims made by the creator of this article are so off base it’s hard to not write the rest of the article off entirely. Also, not to mention the fact that the word for our star (the “sun”) and for male offspring (“son”) do not stem from the same ancient root words and have only been phonetically similar in modern times. Don’t believe me? Again, investigate for yourself. Look into an online etymology dictionary: etymonline.com/. It’s curious to me that this type of information is getting out there…almost makes me wonder if BOTH our traditional, mainstream interpretations of mythology AND these types of “truth-telling” documentaries are BOTH forms of disinformation, coming from the same general group of folks that want to keep the masses in the dark.

  • A fantastic segment of the movie “zeitgeist”, for those who wish to be educated… those who were raised their entire lives in the christian religion will refuse to believe they’ve been lied to and taken advantage ($) of their entire life. If there is a god, Ill bet he / she / it would not approve of religion of any type… as each one thinks they are correct and all others are doomed lol

  • People you gotta realize that God made everything. Yes the sun and stars and everything visible physically and everything that can’t be seen physically. Psalm 19:1 “The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies(heavens) display his craftsmanship ” . Everything we can see physically has a spiritual truth to it for God created everything to point back to him. Just like an artist painting can easily reflect the hand that made it, through its art its signature its seen. So God made everything, and everything reflects the one who created it. Don’t be deceived. And please! Jesus was not born on December 25th this is a man made holiday. There is a great book that reveals astrology and Jesus “Signs in the Heavens” by Marilyn Hickey.

  • you guys got it all wrong… Jesus was born on a leap year.. that’s why everybody is getting confused. and he couldn’t be the sun cause he helped all them animals on that boat.. and ain’t no planet gonna help the animals cause they’d get burnt! and my mom already done told me he was up there on that cross, now damn it. I got pictures of it and everything!!!!!!!!

  • 4:40 I am Krishnas worshipper and I have to tell you this article is bullshit. Devaki was mother of 7 children and there is no such statement in our scriptures that she was a virgin. there is no mention of any star in the east in time of Krishnas birth. Krishna behaved like warrior and a king not teacher most of the time. He had only few disciples whom He taught philosophy. No mention of His resurrection. He just returned to His heavenly abode.

  • I have seen this article a number of times. The thing that strikes me is the recurring theme through the ages, God made flesh, etc., which really has nothing to do with the sun… The life, death, light, dark, yeah, I get the correlation with the sun there, but something really stands out to me. Sure, the sun makes sense, but the passing ages also brought catastrophically and upheavals, along with advancements in understanding and technology… So why the continued sun worship and the continued insistence that God had become flesh??? All over the world??? Even in Pre-Christian (and possibly pre-historic) ages? Just an interesting observation… Underlying archaic archetype with energetic connection to something concrete that left such an impression that it stayed in genetic memory?? Myth or not… The Divine is there and it comes through the ages under different names, but often with the same messages clothed in similar garb with similar rituals and Priesthood’s… Along with similar attempts to co-opt it by the Politically Power Hungry… As in present day, as in Ancient Kemet. The Divine has no name or form… Energy and Ages played like tunes on a guitar string. An interesting thing about the Sogn of Aquarius… The other ages had animals as their symbols… Aquarius seems to put Man at center stage… Another interesting observation… For better or worse…

  • The gnostic were right by saying that the 12 evil archons (the archangels of the bible) were related to 12 stars from which they control our lives. Its all about The zodiac Also 16:14 gnostics often talked about aeons, and said that jesus came from the aeon of Barbelo, the first aeon, aka the first thought of the devine monad mind

  • Duh I knew that that’s why I don’t go to a bible club called church, I follow from within, but his knowledge isn’t what I know 12 astrology signs 12 months of the year that’s really the real religion of gods and goddesses, and there is more, the universe and all is 12 celestial years or to humans 12 billion years but space hasn’t a time dear ….. now the real god connection to this I’m gonna leave you clueless, but god isn’t what you think god is

  • Remsburg’s list At this point you can show your mythicist friends three sources (Josephus, Tacitus, and Paul) that provide good evidence for an historical Jesus. But are there any reasons to think Jesus did not exist? Mythicists claim that if a man like Jesus existed and performed miracles, there would be more written about him near the time of his death. In their book The Jesus Mysteries, Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy list twenty-seven ancient authors who lived within a hundred years of Jesus. They write, “The works of these writers would be enough to fill a library, but not one of them refers to Jesus”. This style of argument actually goes back to a list devised by skeptic John Remsburg in his 1909 book The Christ. Most of these ancient writers would not have cared about recording an unknown victim of capital punishment in a backwater Roman province who was later celebrated by a marginalized cult. Many of these authors didn’t even record history but were poets or scientists—Juvenal, Martial, Ptolemy, Columella (who wrote only about trees), and Pliny the Elder are just a few examples. The historians Remsburg mentions usually focused on events unrelated to Jesus. These include Lucanus, who wrote about the war between Pompey and Caesar; and Florus Lucius, whose history of Rome ended twenty years before the birth of Christ. According to atheist David Fitzgerald, the first-century writer Justus does not mention Jesus in his History of the Jewish Kings (Ten Beautiful Lies About Jesus, 19).

  • So instead of being fulfilled and realizing that it all makes sense, there are still phenomenon in my life that I felt were explained only by “spiritual interaction”. What is it then behind this feeling? Is it just a perception of reality that we can only make up myths and religion to explain it’s existence?!!?

  • I always find these articles cute. Not only does most of this simply come from conjecture, but the “facts” have no backing from stated sources, and seems to forget that most religions were dated to have started far further back than anything from Egypt, but were passed down from words before paper was as easy to access. If you actually open your eyes, there is a reason the Bible was made when it was, over when the Egyptian’s myths, seeing as it still survives, even in part, today. Don’t be so gullible, and act as of one article should blow your mind without actual research first.

  • 😂😂😂 well its a nice attempt I say that this article will mislead the weak in the faith see folks here it is by praying studying and asking god you will know the truth… those who seek with all their heart shall find those who don’t god will always be a myth to them because he is hidden from their hearts Satan knows this don’t fall for it guys don’t think god is real well search for yourself with an open mind now go ahead and cuss me out and all that other stuff lol

  • All creatures are influenced from the forces (frequency) emitted from each planet in our solar system & by those beyond. Every living creature from the smallest atom or sub atomic particle thru the world of cells, bacteria; from simple to complex life forms all emits frequency & energy as does our living planet. It is ludicrous to not consider ancient people’s were more in touch with nature. Modern man thru arrogant & miss directed technologies have removed their connection with nature. Its crazy for people to feel man is not part of nature. We Are a product of its laws.. how could we not need a connection. The ancient traditions used symbols, metaphor & allegory to teach principles about the flow of energy thru ourselves, & nature. We products of nature should honor this mechanism which produces life. Yet man has a greater potential to rise above from his present state. The cycles in the zodiac thru nature are also within every living Being. We are a seed which needs to be developed. Many are called few are chosen. Not all desire or sacrifice to achieve higher development. The diverse levels of consciousness among the peoples of the world is one reason for chaos today. May all Beings be happy!

  • Funniest part is that so many atheists think that Jesus was actually born in December… I do not know a Christian who does not know that Jesus was actually born in the spring.. sure we celebrate Christmas but we do not claim he was born that day,,just that he was born…. which makes us laugh when we hear that Jesus was a copy of Horus and all the others who apparently were born in Dec and funny enough on the 25… hardly anyone corrects them as next they will be attacking his real birth.. and making other silly claims..

  • I believe the gateway to power is open yet hidden, to me all celestial movements play there part in regards to the influence they may or may not have upon the earth and it’s inhabitants, all celestial motions moving accordingly to order, not overstepping there boundaries, but moving in harmony with one another within time, to me the earth it’s self also moves according to law, but although the law remains the same, the pathways within it are limitless, in the sense that nothing in motion remains the same but is forever in a state of flux or change, and as there is a multitude of varying things all a round and within, moving in different motions, through different phases within time, to me it produces varying qualities and outcomes as everything moveable passes through infinite space therefore all moveable things never remaining in the same position within infinity, in regards to the law I believe it to be invisible forces seen by the motion or action of moveable things, the law being in a fixed state moving the things within it, but I must admit, that there are still so many mysteries that puzzle me about existence and I feel the truth is like climbing a great mountain littered with obstacles

  • Interesting thing is people are still perusal this article … Myth or not people are waking up. this may be the greatest story ever told but why did our ancestors find it so important to tell the story maybe because what is above us affects us here on earth maybe because what happens above also happens below .. there are still more crime during a full moon does that make us werewolf? We must take something from these teachings and live our lives accordingly the Bible isn’t a lie just a misunderstood guide at least that’s what I believe in with my current understanding of things.. long live math lol

  • Ezekiel 8:16 (KJV) And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. This presentation will lead many who have never truly read the scriptures down a road to infidelity but consider the account of Scripture. Dig into history and understand the origin of pagan worship where it started and why all these gods have a similar character. Seek truth and don’t be deceived

  • Forget the age stuff (min 11.52 of the article). Ages are only for English people. The latin bible speaks either of saeculi or of aeternam 😀 (saeculus, -i and aeternus, -a, -um) But on the other side this all sounds convincing. Even if Jesus was a historical person, they’ve started to dress him up with mythological and symbolicals legends shortly after his death. And when importing Christianity to Europe, they went on to modify the Jesus-story according to local myths in every country. That’s why you find different cosmical aspects of Christianity/Jesus-story in different geographical areas of Europe. But the finale about religions dominating people: It all started with that fanatic judaism!

  • The sun and moon and stars prove to me there is a GOD. Whatever stories are told for seasons and stars etc are good and to not be disrespected. If they are not to be taken literally and only as allegory and poetry is fine to discuss but not to be depressed over. For god is obvious when u see the amazing things in the skies

  • This was cool until the 13:02 mark when he mistaken the age of Taurus and Aries, when in fact it was Capricorn and Aquarius preceding the Pisces age, and flowing thereafter, as the celestial calendar is like a pendulum swinging back and forth. It he is speaking about is the earthly calendar, when the fallen chose not to go in their proper place, this destroying the covenant and works of God to create suitable starry host, the purpose behind existence.

  • Knowledge is progressive, including God’s revelation to us of Himself. We are bottle fed every step of the way. So yeah there are many pre-Christ archetypes to allow humanity the foundation to step up incrementally. However no one else but Jesus said that we must eat His flesh and drink His blood in order to have life. Convenient then that it’s in our DNA to be cannibals isn’t it?

  • The problem with horas, he was a god like so many other “gods” yet the Egyptians did not worship the one true God which Jesus spoke about. Horas took revenge for his father’s death, which Jesus never had to do since God cannot die. You are trying too hard to make the past tales fit into Christianity to make it just a fable. Keep trying, you missed the mark.

  • This is one of those propagandas that ppl got caught up in because they swallow shit they dont know nothing about. I can tell you that this is mostly “because i say so” knowledge and straight lies. I ques easiest fact is that Horus was not born on 25dec, (Ancient Eg. didnt use the same calendar, didnt count the year beginning as we are, obviously!) Horus was never crucified, nether he had disciples, nether he was ressurected after 3 days, or whenever. Horus was born from Mother and a FATHER, Osiris, who was dead when he had sex with Horuses mother. Horus didnt die as a victim, he was protector of living and life, he had nothing to do with dead, with teachings of way of life, and Horus was one of the MANY gods of that time, he was not one son of the one and only, oldes God.

  • They make assertions in this that have zero historical basis. The so-called tales about Mithras and other pagan gods don’t exist. That’s all been refuted. And as for the astrological ages — they didn’t know about those then and the Bible is not symoblically speaking of the Ages. They just read that into the text. The fish is a symbol for Jesus because of this: The fish, which many may have seen in this form <><, originates from the Greek word for fish, "ichthys/ichthus." This word is further defined in the acrostic IXNYy (with the N flipped) that translates to: I – Iota or Iesous (which means Jesus) X – Chi or Christos (which means Christ) N – Theta or Theou (which means God) Y – Upsilon or Yidos/Huios (which means Son) Y – Sigma or Soter (which means Savior).

  • I can appreciate you saying religion and not christianity because people confuse those two all the time. Religion is man made just like my car is man made that’s also prone to failure Christianity is about Christ who can not fail. I agree Christians give Christianity a bad name but Jesus addressed the same issues with His followers back in the day as we are seeing now, many christians have reinvented God If you want to disagree that’s fine, however if you want to know if Christ is real just ask Him <><

  • Looks like another version of the article Zeitgeist. The historical fact is the first real parallel of a dying and rising god does not appear until A.D. 150, more than a hundred years after the origin of Christianity. So if there was any influence of one on the other, it was the influence of the historical event of the New Testament (resurrection) on mythology, not the reverse. The only known account of a god surviving death that predates Christianity is the Egyptian cult god Osiris. In this myth, Osiris is cut into fourteen pieces, scattered around Egypt, then reassembled and brought back to life by the goddess Isis. However, Osiris does not actually come back to physical life but becomes a member of a shadowy underworld…This is far different than Jesus’ resurrection account where he was the gloriously risen Prince of life who was seen by others on earth before his ascension into heaven. The “anti-Christs” always have and will continue to spread these old debunked theories. I do hope they will see the truth someday. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.” The Bible:” We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with Him on the sacred mountain”.

  • First of all there is one creator that is God, yes Christian religion I do believe is made up and created, Jesus did say trust no man and he hate religion, that means all religion has nothing to do wit God because all man had to do was worship that one God throughout the whole world and not follow man’s created rules and divided groups with many gods.. Maybe Jesus was and is real and Satan put in man mind to created similar christ in all religion. Remember before Jesus was even born the old testament was talking about his coming and doing prophectically, so satan had time before Jesus ever came to create similar characteristics of Jesus to confuse people and to think wait Jesus story is the same as Titus and other religion…remember satan is more clever than the human man

  • 1 of 4 I’m not a Catholic. I am a Christian, StreamofExperience. I know the one who is the Word, the Way and the Truth. You speak of Hell. Hell was created for Satan and his angels, & for all who reject the truth to follow that father of lies to their death without repentance, according to the preserved word of God which the craft of Rome hates & works to usurp & pervert any way that they can. See Matthew 25 KJB. They have their per-ver$ions, and their cannibal craft mockery, their for-sale mass Ponzi scheme and their cookie jesus. Those things are Canaanite and the Jews were corrupted by them, too. The book of Jeremiah testifies to that. The insufficiency of their web of lies is written of in Isaiah, the little bible within the Bible, 66 chapters reflecting the themes of the 66 books of the preserved word of God evidenced with power. – They are as Jannes and Jambres, the sorcerers of Pharoah, who also turned staffs into serpents by the power of Lucifer-Satan as Moses and Aaron demonstrated the power of God according to his command, according to his word. That serpent, as the one lifted up in the wilderness, and later become sin and payment for sin in the place of guilty man as in Numbers and John 3, swallowed up those devilish serpents, overcoming and picturing Christ swallowing up death in victory, and crushing the Serpent of the ‘serpent wisdom’s head. We who are saved by his imperishable blood have the earnest of the coming inheritance in corruptible earthen vessels for now, and we walk by faith that more souls might be saved .

  • One problem is because of the mention of certain astrological events that where in the sky at the time, historians/astrologists say Jesus was more likely born in April. Furthermore, the only reason people celebrate Jesus’s birthday on Dec 25th is because Christians appropriated the Pagan holiday Yule which was an end-of-year festival.

  • Wow. Hence the name “bright morning star” aka the sun So question? If jesus is a deity, then does that mean Lucifer is a deity as well? Does that mean that good and evil r just ways of humans themselves?? Also..I was hit by a car DEC. 22nd 2011. I woke up on the 25th with 2 tubes piercing out of my right side draining the bloody fluid from my lungs. I turned 34 yesterday and from 2011 until now, my world has never been the same. I wonder if I died and had a chance 2 leave and instead stayed. Or…I dont know. 2012 was the predicted year of ending by the Mayan. Just rambling..any thoughts?

  • Jesus isn’t a myth. It is true that they have paganized Christianity. But the Bible is anti-sun worship, read Ezekiel chapter 8. In the old testament the Israelites were always worshipping other sun gods like baal, tammuz but the Bible lets us understand that God alone should be worshipped never His creation. And yes the presenter of this article should know that God implied to Satan of a Virgin birth from Genesis chapter 3. And the reason for the many different Gods with the same character traits we can find that in Genesis chapter 10-11 at the tower of Babel. The religion of the sun started there and continued to this day by men who were in rebellion against God

  • What utter Blasphemy! You need to try this The Anvil of God’s Word “Last eve I paused beside the blacksmith’s door, And heard the anvil ring the vesper chime; Then looking in, I saw upon the floor, Old hammers, worn with beating years of time. “‘How many anvils have you had,’ said I, ‘To wear and batter all these hammers so?’ ‘Just one,’ said he, and then with twinkling eye, ‘The anvil wears the hammers out, you know.’ “And so, I thought, the Anvil of God’s Word For ages skeptic blows have beat upon; Yet, though the noise of falling blows was heard, The Anvil is unharmed, the hammers gone.” Jude 1.25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

  • Deuteronomy 4:19 And beware that you do not raise your eyes toward heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and let yourselves be led astray and worship them and serve them, (mere created bodies) which the LORD your God has allotted to (serve and benefit) all the peoples under the whole heaven. *And by the way the sun represents satan

  • 2 of 4 Christ set aside his glory and came to die for man, the creature’s, the sinner’s, sake and is manipulated by no priest sorcerer of craft or witch. He willingly laid down his life & he demonstrated his power according to the Old Testament scriptures, plainly showing who he truly was for those who knew and believed his written word & the sacrificial system picturing and pointing to his coming as the true & final Passover Lamb: God provided himself a lamb. – He was there at the beginning and through him all things were created. When this corrupt heavens and earth are but a memory, dissolved and replaced by the new heavens and earth into which no sin, sorrow or death will ever enter, he will still be, and his word will also endure. He is the Word, and the Truth, the Way. – He was rejected and betrayed by his own according to the flesh & entrusted with the oracles of God for Abraham’s sake and the prophecies, the Jews; given up to the Romans & inheritors of the Babylonian craft & mysteries, the head of the Gentiles, and still enduring 4th world kingdom, was crucified, died and was buried in a rich man’s tomb as had been prophesied 1,000 years previously, David writing, his hands, feet and side pierced while circled by pagan dogs who gambled for his clothing after offering him gall. His being the seed of the woman prophesied roughly 1,500 years previously, Moses writing. – But death could not hold him. He arose the third day & has the keys to death and Hell….not some Babylonian godman pretender ‘pope’.

  • 4 of 4 The Jews were judged and dispersed as prophesied….but they have also been regathered to the land as prophesied. Dead bones yet, but regathered….and the Lord will soon turn back to working through the Jews in the coming time of Jacob’s trouble, the 70th week of Daniel, the time which is cut short else no flesh would survive it. – One Book is hated by all the idolators and godmen. One ‘version’ of the Bible do they all love to hate and preen as lords and gnostic diviners over: telling the laity minions by divination and supposed greater wisdom what ‘only the originals’ contained. The Authorized English, which they call the King James, and all those vernacular equivalents which expose all things antichrist and Romish. Those who hate it to the end are the deceiving and being deceived written of, and God’s true word is evidenced by power within the spirit and soul of those who receive & bow to the truth and do not hold it in unrighteousness, using their conscientious light: the light of Christ that lighteth every man that cometh into the world, created in God’s image with body, soul and spirit, to seek and follow truth to Christ who IS the Truth, the Way and the Life. – We have the threefold witness of evident truth, the scriptures and the Holy Spirit of God testifying with our spirit upon repentance toward God with faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ who is God, one with the Father as he said, and in the Holy Spirit now in the world convicting men of sin & pointing them to salvation by the foolishness of preaching, faith coming of hearing, hearing of the word of God.

  • This is all factual historically speaking but spiritually the truth is found in the gospel of John 10:8. It is not revealed to anyone but those who believe John 3:16. Jesus is the way to the Father. This can only be attested to by those whose lives He has transformed and restored to the Image of God. I haven’t come across any other religion that can make such a claim. Scientific evidence is surely worthwhile but it has limitations when it comes to spiritual velocities. If Jesus acknowledged that all who came before Him were thieves and robbers is there anyone greater to anal His sayings? Anyone who disputes what He said must be claiming to be greater than Him. Who can that be science?

  • “At this time there appeared Jesus, a wise man. For he was a doer of startling deeds, a teacher of people who received the truth with pleasure. And he gained a following both among many Jews and among many of Greek origin. And when Pilate, because of an accusation made by the leading men among us, condemned him to the cross, those who had loved him previously did not cease to do so. And up until this very day the tribe of Christians (named after him) has not died out” (Jesus Remembered, 141). Roman evidence for Jesus The Roman historian Tacitus records in the fifteenth book of his Annalsthat, after the great fire in Rome, Emperor Nero fastened the blame on a despised group of people called Christians. Tacitus identifies this group thusly: “Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius.” This passage occurs in every copy we have of the Annals, and its lack of praise for Christ or his divinity is good evidence of its authenticity. But even if the passage is authentic, is it evidence for a historical Jesus? The main complaint by critics is that Tacitus simply got this information from Christians who already believed the Christ myth, and so this isn’t independent confirmation of Jesus’ existence. But since Tacitus treats Christians with such disdain (he calls Christianity a “mischievous superstition”), it is unlikely he would have acquired his information directly from them. He may have obtained it from interviews with Roman officials or possibly from the imperial archives.

  • In the English translation of the Bible the Tetragrammaton JHVH or YHWH (Jehovah/Yahweh) is spelt out in capitals as LORD. All such cases are using a reference to Jehovah, which means eternal and self-existing. So according to the Zeitgeist Movement application, every instance where LORD is used is a reference to Satan. Therefore, according to the Zeitgeist Movement we’ve have no foundations for establishing such a thing as God who created the Heavens and the Earth. The Sabbath. The words that came to the patriarchy, kings and prophets, because all introductions and instructions to them use the word LORD (Jehovah) with they believe should be translated as Satan. So the Sabbath commandment which has him as LORD and Jesus Christ claims to be the LORD of the Sabbath, according to your doctrines, has Jesus as a manifestation Satan. Satan incarnate. So according to your teaching God has never communicated with us. According to The Zeitgeist Movement, where they believe a reference to LORD means Satan these passages from the book of Job has him talking to himself: Job 1 :6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. :7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. :8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

  • 3 of 4 He descended into Hell and preached to the prisoners, ascending to heaven with captives in his train as the souls of the Old Testament saints in Paradise, the Bosom of Abraham, met their hope, their Savior, and that portion of the Underworld was emptied. It’s last entry, the repentant thief crucified on the cross beside him…in that train. It is written that graves opened in Jerusalem and dead saints were raised and seen of others. – But he returned in glorified and recognizable bodily form and showed himself to the disciples, being with them for 40 days and seen of many….while the religious fakes paid off the soldiers guarding the tomb who faced execution for failing to secure it. Pilate and Herod Agrippa, old enemies, became friends over the political problems that Jesus, the Nazarene, had given them. Agrippa receiving glory as a god believing the oldest lie in the Book, Genesis 3, of achieving godhood through gnosis and the occulted mysteries, received glory as a god, but was struck by the true & living God he called a liar, turning from truth and holding it in unrighteousness, and died. Like so many since who kid themselves they can navigate death without Christ who is the way, the truth and the life. Agrippa likewise died, and his son and daughter in incestuous relationship went on in delusion to be warned of the apostle Paul in Caesarea. – Meanwhile Christ was seen to visibly ascend into heaven, while the followers were assured that he would return as he had gone, that in the meantime they should take the good news out of hope and redemption from sin and its penalty through faith in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ according to the scriptures: who he was and is, how he came in the flesh, was born, lived a sinless life.

  • Don’t be fooled, there may be fascinating information presented in this article comparing religions and mysteries, BUT do keep in mind, that I’m both the Old Testament and New Testament that astrology is prohibited. Another thing, the word play on the Sun of God and Son of God, think about it are they speaking in English 2000 years ago or an Aramaic? This is deceptive with truth sprinkled in and lies in the conclusion. The resemblance with the stars and constellations can very well just be actual signs from God in the bible who said the sun moon and stars were put there to give us signs of the seasons and times. If your faith is challenged or shook by this article, you should really look in the the church father’s and the ministry of the Disciples who weren’t just zodiac signs but historical figures who actually lived and spread out around the Mediterranean, Africa and India. Please do some reading and research especially regarding superficial similarities between the Gospel and ancient mystery schools and cults. May peace and blessings be upon you.

  • its sweet to see the bible get debunked isnt it? some of you guys in the comment section need to quit being in a hurry to bask in your victory and research the arguments and counter arguments from reliable resources. fundamentally, dont assume zeitgeist is a well researched source, you might not be so satisfied if you go deeper.

  • Mabe santa clause was born dec 25th and this was to take away from the true Jesus Christ whom is my savior how could any one deney the peace love and happiness I feel with my walk with him I seek him every day reading the inspired word of God . There is so much blessing for his believers if they would just accept him in to there lives god bless we love you

  • This article makes me very sad. I don’t even need to watch it, nor would I ever. I can see what the subject matter is and oh how deceived you all are.. Please don’t give up, this is to whoever is reading this. It’s just cause you’ve not understood the Scriptures. Please set your hearts towards the truth and listen to some of the articles that are posted on my website. Don’t be deceived by satan. He’s sitting back laughing at this article and all who it has deceived.

  • Jesus is born in a manger because he is a Capricorn and Capricorn is a goat. Jesus is then baptized by EA the Chaldean water god which in Latin is Ioannes or John. This is Aquarius. Of course there was no Jesus in ancient Israel, the name is from the Greek Iesous. In numerology the name is 888 or the Sun. Jesus then encounters the fishermen at Capernaum which is Pisces, and on it goes.

  • This is false knowledge and again we’re all being decieved. When you first came into the Kemetic teachings and you left Christianity, we all were taught that Jesus was Heru and Heru was a Sun God .. This is Masonic doctrine. Heru is not the Sun. Heru is Mars. Jesus is Elohim Gibor Elohim Gibor is Geburah Geburah is Mars Mars/Geburah is Heru Khuti It was Heru Khuti that defeated Set and vanquished evil not the false Sun 🌞 God. The 3 Kings followed the Star of the East. Not Sirius The star the 3 Kings followed is Alderbaran. Alderbaran is the eye of the Bull. Taurus=Venus The 3 Kings came to witness the birth of Christ. Venus is going to give birth to Mars
