In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Dr. Strange wields various spells with specific purposes, including the Earth-swallowing “Icy Tendrils of Ikthalon” in Endgame. These powerful spells come from the demon Ikthalon and are used by Strange in various ways, such as stopping destruction caused by Ebony Maw’s ship and generating a water tornado in Avengers: Endgame.
The Eye and amulet have become a common tool in the comics, with the Eye being used to transform a black hole into a swarm of delicate blue butterflies when the Infinity Gauntlet is used to send an actual black hole at it. The Winds of Watoomb, a wind spell, was used by Strange when the Black Order arrived in New York in Avengers: Infinity War. It allows the user to create a powerful defensive force field to reduce damage.
In Infinity War, Strange uses the Shield Of Seraphim to create a powerful defensive force field. He also summons a sickly-looking green flame with the Winds of Watoomb. In Endgame, he uses the Time Stone to glimpse 14,000,605 possible outcomes of the upcoming battle with Thanos.
Magic is the practice of harnessing various forms of energy to manipulate one or more aspects of the infinite realities within the Multiverse. Notable spells include Bolts of Balthakk Chains of Krakkan Crimson Bands of Cyttorak Crystals of Cyndriarr Demons of Denak Flames of the Faltine Images of Ikonn.

Amazing how this works. Strange saw that the only way they could win, was if the Ancient One realized that Stephen had seen the only way they could win, and that that was by giving it willingly, and not it being forefully taken. It breaks the code of The Ancient One not being able to see past her death. Brilliant.
I am so glad that they brought her back for the Avengers finale! I have to admit in theaters, when she suddenly said “or maybe I did” in regards to making a mistake, I thought she meant it was a mistake making Doctor Strange the Sorcerer Supreme … glad it was just she was wrong in not trusting the stone to Bruce!
this scene showed what kind of man dr strange was even before the accident. ancient one said he was performing surgery 20 blocks away. now during the invasion that would still be in area. so its likely doctors, nurses and patients were trying to get to safety or hold down the fort. but he was still performing surgery
One second after this: Steve: ‘You must be the one who carried this stone before Strange had it.’ Ancient One: ‘And you must be Bruce’s friend, here to fulfill his promise.’ Steve: ‘You don’t seem surprised to see me.’ Ancient One: ‘I’m not. I had a good feeling about him. He’s a man of his word. As, it would seem, are you.’ Steve: ‘Thank you for that. It made all the difference.’ Ancient One: ‘Please. Speak no more of it. The less I know, the more intact my own timeline stays.’ Steve: ‘Fair enough. hands over stone I have to be on my way now. More stones to deliver. And another promise to keep.’ Ancient One: looking at the stone and smiling ‘Well done, Strange.’
If I get it… She can’t perceive everything after her death, only before. So hearing that Strange gave the stone to Thanos, and the fact that Strange can perceive everything before his death, not after… She is shocked at knowing her death being is just 12 years or closer, Strange giving such powerful stone to another being, she is also shocked to know that Strange did it in desparation, shocked that she cannot calm herself that she has to trust Strange a whole ton, and she has no control over it?
My favourite quote from this moment is ” strange is meant to be the best of us” it tells us that even in 2012, she knew that strange was meant to be the best sorcerer so it makes sense when he finally showed up why she was at first, reluctant to teach him because when she died, she told him that she never saw his future. Only its possibilities, so while she evidently saw the future where he became a great sorcerer, she must’ve also seen the futures where it’s possible he met an early grave because he was a sorcerer and other possible futures where he became, evil, so it makes sense her reluctance at first, because why would she want to take a man who could become one of the greatest sorcerers, in existence and possibly condemned him so
I wonder out of all the futures Strange saw to defeat Thanos, how many involved giving up the Time Stone. It’d be interesting if it was just the one future, like he really tried so many versions where he kept the stone but it all led to failure. OR he tried in vain for a future where he gave up the stone AND Stark lived, but couldn’t find one.
It would have been cool for them to make footage showing each stone being returned to its timeline just a few seconds after they were taken from it. Like here, if moments after The Ancient One hands Hulk the stone and he leaves, Cap popping back and handing it back to her. Ditto for the other stones.
Love this scene and Tilda Swinton’s performance. The change in her facial expression at 2:28 from righteous, confident, supreme, amused and a little bit condescending to doubt is wonderful to watch. Yes, it’s a cheesy superhero movie based on comics. But you can still have great actors/actresses giving hellish good performances.
Regarding how Steve Rogers/Captain America returned the six Infinity Stones at the conclusion of the Endgame film, there’s an online FanFiction story entitled “The Infinity Stones Return: Captain America’s Final Adventure.” This story is written in the form of a heavily detailed plot-summary for an eight-episode mini-series. The first episode takes place before Captain America (hereafter called “Cap” for short) begins his journey, and shows Professor Hulk rebuilding the time machine and Scott Lang/Antman volunteering for the initial test run. This involves a return-trip to Clint Barton’s pre-snap home to put back the baseball glove that was taken during the original test-run. Afterward, Doctor Strange explains why the stones have been placed in the briefcase and reveals that the Tesseract, Orb, and Sceptre have been shrunken down to fit in Cap’s pockets and will be re-enlarged after he arrives in the past to re-contain their respective stones at the proper time. In the second episode, Cap visits the Ancient One in 2012 prior to the arrival of his earlier self in New York. There, she uses the combined power of the six stones in the briefcase to cast future-dated spells that will make the 2012-2014 timelines reset themselves once the heisted stones have been returned to their proper places. Afterwards, she transports to the roof of the New York sanctum where she gives Hulk the original version of the Time Stone after first putting on a performance-act of initial resistance and surprise to ensure he understands the importance of returning the stones afterward.
What i really like from this character is how she treats hulk, just like a teacher would do with an angry kid, allowing him to talk when he was calmed Not putting herself at his level (even of she would’ve won easyly), nop, just like “sit down Banner, think about this and lets talk” No need to combat, no need to contain him, just talking nicely and relaxed 😌
one thing of i never thought of till perusal this right now, is she says that without any one of the stones and you would doom reality, millions would suffer, so our reality gets saved by all these other realities stones, then rogers goes and gives them back to their respective realities, thus still leaving our reality with no stones at the end of the day, from her perspective even once defeating thanos we’d be screwed.
Bruce had a much bigger role than most people believe in this movie. But each of their roles played a vital part to the defeat of Thanos. His role however, involved breaking the rules of reality, and sewing it back together in the blink of time while bringing back half of the population using 6 infinity stones all at once for the first time ever in a glove that can barely hold the energy together, in less than 2 minutes. He might’ve taken the L against Thanos in the 1v1 (Copyright Would’ve Slapped Disney, had he beaten Thanos), but he saved all of humanity. Thats a big W for the green monster everyone fears. His own personal redemption.
i now realize she was realized about the importance of the time stone to the timeline. she couldve meant a bigger picture but without the timestone. strange wouldve never been able to create the timeloop to defeat Dormamu. so its likely in this new timeline without the timestone. dormamu won. also…..wasnt this timeline pruned by the TVA. Its the same timeline Loki escaped.
The Sorcerer Supreme! When Professor Hulk says he could take the time stone and then return the time stone to just after the moment when he took the time stone, thereby undoing everything that took place during the time the time stone was gone, the Sorcerer Supreme should have started laughing her head off.
How the Ancient One know there is something not right with this Hulk is not surprising. When she see smart hulk isn’t interested in smashing stuff, she can tell that Smart Hulk is not from that timeline. Before getting to the Sanctuary, Bruce was only smashing to blend into the past timeline when Steve Rogers told him to smash a few things along the way in the same situation when Cap told angry Hulk to smash back in 2012.
I find it interesting how, here, the Ancient One says that it’s the duty of the sorcerer supreme to safeguard the time stone, and Bruce asks why Strange gave it away, indicating that the time stone was being safeguarded by Strange, and was in fact the new sorcerer supreme after the Ancient one. But, come the multiverse saga, suddenly he’s not anymore. And now…Wong is…for some reason. I could see Wong FILLING IN for Strange while he was snapped, but then giving the position back after Strange returned.
2:41 I have always loved how the ancient one is almost speaking from the same script she has used for centuries on people asking similar things, but the most moment she realizes strange gave away the stone she is so confused she literally has to ask outlaid “why” fully aware she won’t get any good answer lol
You know, I was wondering how they were able to mess with the timeline without it going bonkers. I never watched the movie only YouTube clips and the science and magic just made my head hurt. Now I know that they went back in time to return the stones at the moment they took them. Not as many ripples 🙂 Thank you for the clip!
For just a split second when the Ancient One knocked Bruce out of the Hulk’s body, I flashed back to the Hulk vs. Thor animated movie, and had a vision of a Hulk unbound by any human restraint, who nearly destroyed all of Asgard with his endlessly escalating rage… good thing that didn’t happen and hew got nap-time instead!
“Strange is meant to be the best of us” I know at that time it may’ve had a different meaning. But you could say in a way, she wasn’t just talking about “us” as “sorcerers” talking about her context, but as in, according to nowadays concepts and some Feige’s insight in interviews, the most relevant character for that universe. Just like the concept it was explored in Deadpool and Wolverine.
I think the way Ancient Onne says the branched reality is “doomed” is something like the TVA pruning the timeline, so when Steve returns the time stone he is actually a completely different one where Loki never escaped, so Loki Series happened in a situation where atleast one of the stones never got stolen/returned as it was meant to happen
Hulk is trying to convince the Ancient One to lend him the Time Stone. According to Screen Rant, the clip sees the Sorcerer Supreme reveal that Thanos’ Snap didn’t kill anybody, but merely willed the dusted out of existence. The outlet writes: “Death is final, the snap is not; resurrection is impossible even with the power of the Infinity Stones, but the snap can be undone. Marvel fans have wondered why Black Widow couldn’t have been brought back to life after her sacrifice for the Soul Stone on Vormir Well, both she and Iron Man died for real, while the dusted could be resurrected because technically they weren’t deceased. With this in mind, Thanos was snapped so he’s technically still alive as they were. This means that it’s perfectly possible to restore the Mad Titan back to reality through resurrection.
Strange gave the time stone away so Bruce would then tell the sorcerer in the past that he gave it away so she would give it up. Seems thanos inevitably got the time stone in all realities and when the went back in time to get it she WOULDNT give it up but the one where strange “gave” it to him convinced the past sorcerer to give it up and we have endgame
Strange giving away the stone was tactical. Even without the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos was still a force of nature, and the only way to stop him, at least in this time line, was to let him succeed, let events run their course, then quell him when he had no reason to keep fighting. Then, once gone, work to fix the damage could be done.
To those who are familiar with Lou Ferrigno, this may sound familiar Just so’s y’all know, Lou Ferrigno was very disappointed with Mark Buffalo’s performance as the Hulk and Disney for making their Hulk CGI, he’s not a big fan of it. Look at it, this way: Lou Ferrigno is a human being just like we all are, and we all have opinions. But just because we have different opinions, does not mean that we have to be a jerk about it And on top of that, he retired from the Incredible Hulk television series anyway, back in Ferrigno’s time back on the show, they had the technology but we didn’t have CGI back then. So he wore makeup and didn’t require any CGI, he’s comparing apples with oranges. One thing that people cannot compare with, life lesson, never compare two Hulks from two different eras
This scene is beyond ridiculous. She just finished explaining why he couldn’t do what he tried to counter with. The moment you take it you’re on a new timeline meaning you can’t return it to the moment you took it and erase the new timeline you’re on because you’re bloody on it. Beyond that you’d be “erasing” the lives in that timeline, and you were pissed off* that Thanos’ did that!
I have a question! Ancient one can see every time-line, every possible futures just like Watcher and yet she didn’t see the possibility of Strange willingly giving Thanos the time stone. You can see the legit shock of surprise and disbelief she had when Bruce told her this. So why did she still give it to him, and let him become Sorcerer Supreme?
I honestly thought that once Bruce’s spirit was knocked out of his body, the Hulk would be the only spirit/personality left inside, and he would go berserk. Would have made for an interesting fight scene between the Hulk and the Ancient One. Presumably, she wouldn’t want future Hulk going berserk and interfering with the battle of New York, so she would probably immediately take the fight into the mirror realm.
In this scene…it is similar to the ‘Rick & Morty’ episode where ‘Morty’ has a Death-Crystal and can see his own CURRENT Future (Depending on his current Physical actions)…because “The Ancient One’ knows if she gives ‘Bruce’ the stone then that means if their mission is successful there will be another visitor from the Future around near-by WAITING for ‘Bruce’ to leave with the stone (To return the stone back to her)…so all she has to do is use her magical mystic powers to sense or “see” where the other Future visitor is hiding to make sure IT IS safe to give ‘Bruce’ the stone.
When you realize the Avengers still managed to fuck up this reality, which was exactly what the Ancient One feared. Their interference caused Loki to run away with the Tesseract which led to TVA pruning this reality. Cap might have returned back in time to return the Time Stone but he still did not save this reality because Loki was removed from it, and with him, this reality branched off and eventually pruned.
I mean returning the stones just after it was taken might have saved the 2012 past ancient one’s timeline but I think space and time is more complicated than that. The moment they have traveled through time, a burst of other timeline was created therefore creating the possiblity of returing the stone after borrowing it and it also created another alternate reality where the the avengers failed to stop thanos and returned the stone. I guess they made this concept in the movie to make it more simple in the story but I just want to share my thoughts on what I knoe about space and time.
Just a question…… In Loki season 1, while Loki escaped, his timeline was erased/pruned…. And it was this timeline, am I remember it right? So Ancient one was worried about her timeline if she borrows the stone….. and after few minutes, her timeline was erased because of loki? Am I correct or do I miss something?
My theory; it’s because the damage done to Tony was a result of all six infinity stones, thus trying to use one to reverse the damage would have been an exercise in futility. It would, essentially, require another person using the gauntlet and giving their life just to try to save his, and even then it might not have worked, or carried some severe repercussions of their own.
I think the explanation was given in the 1st Dr Strange movie. When Strange effects the Apple there is a temporal rift or sth (the crystal things appearing in mid-air). I think this is what happens if u exempt exactly one thing (here Tony) and not effect the other things around it with the time stone. So the choices were: bring back Thanos‘ army or cause a temporal breach of some kind
i think tony sealed his fate when making the time machine. Since he created it, an its what kang discovered later in the future, Kangs existence or rise to power is probably a direct result of Tony’s death. I believe the second set of coordinates and the extra PYM particles could be used to bring RDJ back to reprise his role of iron man to explain why he said ” When you mess with time, it tends to mess back” I believe Tony may have encountered Kang, battled Kang, or in a small way spoiled kangs future plans.
There’s a couple of things Tony said in endgame that left me questioning. Cap asked about the fact there was more pum particles. Tony said he knew how he knew. I think he had already been traveling time, and he knew Morgan was coming. “I had a dream”. If anyon paid attention to his dialogue, then you know what I’m talking about.
I’m saying this once. I strongly believe that Strange needed this specific version of Thanos to be dusted and NOT killed. He needed this Thanos to experience defeat at the hands of the Avengers and finally accept this. I believe that This version of Thanos will be brought back from the Soul Realm later on to help fight another big bad. I’m calling this now
The What If series was said to be cannon, so yes Tony Starks death was an absolute point/nexus point, just like the death of Christine, these are points that can not be changed. Natasha and the ‘runaway Gamoura’ are absolute points/nexus points because both die for the soul infinity stone so they cannot be restored. Banner Hulk states that he really tried when he brought everyone back from the blip, to bring back Natasha but he just couldn’t get her back. It’s important to know that the use of the time stone and introducing time into a timeless realm is considered something that could cause the fracturing of the realms reality. What Dr. Strange did was already pushing the boundaries of acceptable tampering. But then again Dr. Strange wouldn’t be Dr. Strange if he just made cool circles in air that allowed you to travel easily just about anywhere.
The effects of the Time Stone can be focused into a tiny area, as demonstrated in the film Doctor Strange when Strange uses it to rot and un-rot an apple over and over, and freeze it at various points without affecting the rest of the room. Some argue that Thanos reversing the entire area when bringing back the Mind Stone in Infinity War demontrates this radius of effect, but that does not explain why Wanda wasn’t also affected when she was right next where she destroyed it. What does explain it is that when the Mind Stone was destroyed, its energy was dispersed over a wide area and in order to get it back the effect of the Time Stone reversing the explosion had to be much larger. In my opinion, Strange couldn’t do it because the Eye was destroyed.
I’ve explained for 3 years – He can’t. Beleiving that he could is an error of logic. Granted some MCU film’s like No Way Home are dumb and can’t follow their own logic, but Endgame is exceptionally intelligent. -> If you take the time stone off of Tony’s body. -> You turn back time on Tony. -> The last thing that happened to Tony – REVERTS. -> That means the time stone goes BACK TO TONY. -> That means you just gave the time stone back to him. -> You just undid YOUR OWN ACTION in time. -> Tony is still dead just as he was when you started. -> You don’t even remember what you just did – > YOU UNDID IT, and you DON’T have the time stone anymore so how can you know. ^ This is a dumb idea that comes from some fans because THEY don’t follow the logic of time, of cause and effect, or order of operations or anything else. Finally both Dr. Strange’s film and Infinity War confirm the above logic over and over again. But some fans don’t really understand what happened in either of those films in the first place, so, that doesn’t help them. So, on we go…
The timestone rewinds time on tony, indirectly returning him to life. This also means the cause of his death (physically using the stones to dust thanos & co) would also be rewinded and bring all those people tony killed back as well including thanos. This would still make bringing back tony useless even if the time stone did not work within a radius
It can’t be the first one. In the first Dr. Strange when he manipulated the apple nothing else changed around him. And when he brought the pages back in the book it didn’t do anything to the apple even though he was messing with it just moments before. It’s simple, to bring Tony back you would have to undo his snap because that’s what killed him. It’s an all or nothing sacrifice. The time stone, just like all of the other stones can be directed at a single person or thing. But to bring someone back to life, you have to undo the the thing that took their life.
I think that Dr Strange could only see possibilities that he would live through… the previous Sorcerer Supreme stated this. It’s likely that for Dr. Strange to live and Thanos certainly dies, it would take unbelievable odds and ultimately led for Tony to die. Not a certainty that Tony needed to die but, the only one he could see. For all we know, the Avengers would have had better odds of winning and with less deaths (like black widow) if Dr. Strange died instead. However, no one would be able to know because Dr. Strange was the only one who could see into his possible futures. I think it would be amazing for the upcoming movie to show/mention this… The fact that Dr. Strange saw timelines that were a pretty good possibility to save the universe but… every single one of those involved his death. So, he is left with struggling if he made the right choice.
1 thing I still don’t understand is how Thanos knew how to use the time stone in Infinity War when he used it to reverse the moment vision dies and bring him back to aquire the stone in his head because in Dr. Strange he needs to know a spell from a book in order to use the time stone so how did Thanos know how to wind back the time?
You can take it further…martial artists with multiple black belts can forget everything in a street fight let alone in the octagon…Imagine a battle with multiple Super Heroes, different power sets, Super Villains and an invading armada from Outer Space? But it’s hard for a Movie Studio to say that…it seems a cop out to say “they panicked or didn’t act quickly enough in the moment.”
It may be confirmed on why this or that happened, but they really didnt need to kill off Iron Man. The time stone allows you to target someone/thing too like in Dr Strange 1 movie. Steven targeted just the apple, not the desk it was on. Tony Stark becoming a recluse would’ve been better by far not to mention all the better options than that they had. That way we could get an old man Tony raising the kids of the avengers some day lol but nooo 😆 they had to fuckup in the MCU
I think the more likely explanation that is also the simplest is that tony’s death is what causes thanos defeat and even the survival of the world cause they may have and prolly would have lost if thanos lived so tony’s death was prolly so important that it became a fixed point so it could not be changed anymore
Or or or…as Bruce explains “if you travel to the past, that past becomes your future, and your former present becomes the past, which can’t be changed by your new future”, we’re just in the timeline where it doesn’t happen, or he hasn’t been brought in from another timeline/universe yet because that’s the only way, going by their time travel laws
If there was a distance related constraint they could just repeatedly test the reincarnation radius until it reaches Tony but not Thanos since even this article indicates they weren’t directly on top of each other. Even if part of Thanos’s army were revived they could just have been defeated by the avenger army again. Those simple facts break this theory.
BUT, in the first Doctor Strange, Strange was able to manipulate a single object, such as the apple or the book, without it affecting the surrounding area. So either they are wrong and just making something up, or they’re rewriting the stones’ capabilities (which I wouldn’t be surprised, the space stone went from (primarily) an energy source to a portal door between the first Avengers film until about the events of Infinity War, I believe.)
I think this is also one of those absolute point in time scenarios. Because there was only one win situation and Tony’s death is must along with Thanos and his army for this one possibility. Imagine if he revived Tony back, then that win scenario will have a irreconcilable paradox created because Tony being alive and his snap killing Thanos can’t exist at the same time (because cause and effect can’t exist at same time). Like Strange Supreme, This MCU strange would have destroyed his reality on the spot.
My reason is mostly based on the character Tomy Stark compared to the reality the actor wanted to retired from the character! I see the biggest threat would have been letting Tony live after all his actions is known to bring disaster further down the future! Having him gone would mean to world not going in ruines but in issues with that is not counting on the multiverse!
So this is all well and good but I still don’t see why he didn’t see the future of Quill screwing the plan up, sending him away while he was being locked down, take the gauntlet and let the others escape with the gauntlet through a portal. Sure he was busy trying to also lock down one side but nebula is pretty strong and could have took his place. And he could have rewound time anything other than letting Quill screw up the plan.
My theory is that Kang has always been in control of everything that happened.. in order for him to come into existance as the one remaining he had to have the avengers lose, then go back in time so that loki may take his place, unfortunateltly loki and sophie get there and kill him once again and begins the cycle of the multiversal war, which is crutial for kang to come into existance.
Because Tony is another Kang variant. Both are tech geniuses who figured out time travel and disrupted several timelines. As long as any Kang variant lives, there will always be the threat of a multiversal war due to their medaling with time. Every single trace of Kang must be wiped from existence. Just like how Ultron was wiped from the net. “So he must be destroyed: every form he’s built, every trace of his presence on the ‘net.”
I disagree. The narrative supports that timetravel has always been implicated all the way back to the first avengers. this could have been done with the tesseract alone utilizing einsteins theories. something Loki eludes to whilst confronting Thor “I’ve seen Odinson. to worlds beyond the tesseract has shown me.”. the tesseract is an ever expanding and contracting miniature replication of the entire universe/universes. The longer the tesseract remains in a single place the more probability it has of imbuing or entangling its properties like it did with Captain Marvel. It’s also insinuated that it is the reason why Asgard can exist in perpetual bliss. the rainbow bridge is also most likely imbued with the tesseracts properties as the tesseract was once the most prized possession in odins vault. The proof is in the pudding. Heimdahl has to be able to see faster than light in order for Thor to arrive on scene as the action is taking place. meaning that heimdahl has, as far as we know, the most objective view of the universe. he sees objects as they are. not as light shows them to be. which also indicates that in macroscale theorhetical physics causality cannot be broken by faster than light travel because light is actually just delayed data. but I digress… If Heimdahl utilized light to perceive events throughout the universe the events would have taken place billions of years ago depending on how far he was looking across the expanse of space. to send Thor through a wormhole and arrive instantaneously Thor would arrive way to late.
But what would have happened if they just snapped their fingers immediately instead of letting the energy mess them up. Hulk waited a minute and it ate him up. Tony talked for a minute and the suit couldnt handle all the energy. The longer they waited the more the energy destroyed their body. Thanos was proof but we didnt see him use the gauntlet the second time.
I’m not a big fan of the first explanation since in the Doctor Strange movie, as he’s changing the time around the apple, it doesn’t change the state of the Book of Cagloistro and vice versa. I guess you could put it to their states having changed in different points in time and not the same time point (book’s state was changed in the past and apple’s in the present ergo they are not mutually exclusive). Then again, Strange can take people out of time so that it don’t affect them such as in the reversal of the destruction of the London Sanctorum. But that may complicate things.
Well they certainly had a fountain of youth.-. Dr. Strange could have certainly froze time to keep Tony from dying and had rocket and the others help build another device but instead of going through time just pushed time through tony like they did with ant man certainly they can’t control how much but they could keep doing it till satisfied. Ik dr. Strange probably wouldn’t meddle again like freezing time but he could have possibly froze iron mans time. Even if Tony was to die he could have possibly been saved through the machine idk but they could still try what would be the harm in it.-.
How about this….in the fantasy fictional world of comics and movies the director and writers can make anything happen or not happen because they want to. I grew up on comic books and if there is anything I’ve learned it’s that stuff happens because the writer says. They can subvert your expectations just because they want to. There’s nothing stopping them from bringing iron man back to life or making spider man the most powerful in the mcu. 🙄
That’s why you take the stones first before resurrecting Tony. The fact that Thanos would run the risk of being resurrected had Dr. Strange used the time stone is dog shit. We saw with both vision and the apple that it can affect individuals solely if need be. Why then wasn’t everything around Vision or the apple then affected when Strange and Thanos both used the time stone? Also, Tony, really? I would expect Strange to be a bigger threat to Kang for obvious reasons.
I don’t buy it. The reality is that the time stone is too op, and they had to get around that, so they side-stepped the issue entirely. The idea that the time stone has some sort of range based on proximity is absurd. If that were the case, then Wanda would have easily been within that range when Thanos reversed time to bring Vision back to life. But she was still in the same location, on the ground, and suffering because she had just killed Vision herself. So, Thanos rewound time for Vision specifically, and Wanda, who was 3 feet away, was completely unaffected.
The science of a snap is inconsequential. Could a hero as strong as Hulk not just snap Tony back instead of utilizing just the Time Stone? I also wonder if the Soul Stone could not resurrect Tony’s Soul into a new body, perhaps an Iron one? Similar to what was done in Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Then they come along in Strange: MoM and blow his ‘one way’ idea all to shit. We see Mr Fantastic tell Strange about hot he killed Thanos on Earth 838. That was far different than we saw in Endgame. Given that in Loki, Ms Minutes clearly states, Kang, He Who Remains, merged all multiverses into a SINGLE timeline. Given this fact, there’s no plausible way Strange shouldn’t have seen this second path to beating Thanos.
Nah as usual they’re just saying what they want. Strange clearly manipulated specific objects and people with the time stone in his movie. He can clearly choose an area or specific things to manipulate, the apple being a prime example. So I don’t buy this just as I didn’t buy the russo’s other reasons for things that happened in their movies. So yeah he could’ve easily used the time stone on Tony.
Its stupid why didnt he use it to time loop attempt to remove glove from Thanos on Titan, Round 1 goes by Star Lord is a dipsh.t then refresh and KO Star Lord boom gtg, That time stone couldve taken Strange to Baby Thanos n throw him into a black hole boom gtg, Tony fckn damn Stark couldve used it to stop time for Thanos & Army as Avengers deal with them all then start it back up again, Its amazing to me just how much time stone could do but literally only Thanos was one smart enough to actually use it in Infinity War or Endgame…..
I feel like the entirety of both movies were set up so Tony would die. There’s literally no other explanation. The writing in both was so fucking lazy and they were so many situations they could easily avoid and hundreds of ways they could have absolutely destroyed Thanos it’s a joke to think they’re was only 1 reality. The real reason is, Robert Downey JR’s (Tony’s actor) contract was close to ending, so they wrote the script and planned the movies to account for it. In universe explainion? Maybe he would have became superior ironman
I bet it is because Robert Downey Jr. Didn’t want to play Ironman anymore… cause he is playing a comic book character!…that comic still exists and they are still making more Iroman comics and he could be written in more Movies, if Disney and Robert real wanted to…Their explanation is stupid… as if! That absolute point of time is a stupid!… I bet if Doctor Strange checked 14,000,001 different outcomes he could have come out with one where Tony Stark would be OK and they would still win. I think Doctor Strange wanted Tony Stark Dead and told him a lie so he would kill himself!…
It was obvious that after the soul stone rule was established any Infinity Stone couldn’t undo things due to being Synchronized with it. “The snap” aka the wish and mighty act of Willpower was the only universal permanent if more complex than say A blast of energy or portal. All of the infinity stones or gems wouldn’t allow do overs or changes that remain permanently when they involved too much complexity or Drax and Mantis would’ve died when Thanos reconfigured them with the reality stone when they tried attacking Thanos.
