What is rahu called in Western astrology?
Rahu, also known as the North node of the Moon, is considered malefic in astrology due to its origins and the Sun’s Solar Eclipse. In Western Astrology, Rahu is known as the head of Dragon or Caput, and Western people consider Rahu benefic, while Ketu is malefic.
Rahu has no lordship over any house or rashi in a horoscope, as only seven physically existing planets rule over these houses and signs. Nodes, which are important in analyzing horoscopes, react based on the house and signs they sit in and conjoine with any planet in that sign. Rahu rules over Ardra, Swati, and Satabhisha Nakshatras.
In Vedic Astrology, Rahu signifies the paternal grandfather and does not rule over any zodiac sign. It represents individuals born in low caste, who may have been involved with girls, who may have evil thoughts and actions, and who may resort to outcaste and low-born lifestyles. Nodes can also represent Buddhist, snake catchers, ass, ram, wolf, camel, serpent, poisonous insects, a dark place, bug, insects, and owl.
In summary, Rahu is a malefic planet in astrology, but it is also considered benefic in Western astrology. It is important to consider the houses and signs in a horoscope when analyzing Rahu to predict one’s life.

Which is more accurate, Vedic or Western astrology?
Vedic astrology is considered more accurate due to its consideration of planets and their movements. Unlike western astrology, which uses a fixed tropical reading, Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac to calculate horoscopes. This approach takes into account the changing patterns and universe as a whole, making it more detailed and accurate. The twelve astrological signs include Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. What is nakshatra in Western astrology?
Nakshatra is a term used in Hindu and Buddhist astrology to describe a Lunar mansion. It is one of 27 or 28 sectors along the ecliptic, each named after a prominent star or asterism. In Western astronomical terms, a nakshatra is a constellation. Each nakshatra is divided into four padas, related to the Char Dham, a set of four pilgrimage sites in India. The Vedas have a starting point called “Krittika” for the nakshatras, but more recent compilations suggest the start is the point opposite the star Spica, called Chitrā in Sanskrit, which translates to Ashvinī, part of the modern constellation of Aries. This version may have been compiled during the vernal equinox, and may be called Meshādi or the “start of Aries”. The first astronomical text listing these nakshatras is the Vedanga Jyotisha.
📹 Natal Moon in Chitra (23°20’ Virgo ♍️- 6°40’ Libra ♎️)- Mystical, Alluring, Talented
Hello. This is my interpretation for your Natal Moon in Chitra. Enjoy! ****Vedic Only**** No Tropical …
I have moon in chitra and my mother gifted me a beautiful pearl gold ring with diamonds circling it but i keep it away now as the pearl is very loose. I love wearing fine jewelry and am very particular about anything that isn’t solid gold jewelry as I get rashes . I will absolutely not wear it. Also my closet is color coded. Everything in my house is in its spot according to feng shui. And I might need to get diagnosed for this last problem but I can’t stand seeing ugly things in my environment. It physically/emotionally makes me angry to see ugly things. Ugly architecture, ugly anything. The yoga thing is also true I quite enjoy vinyasa yoga. And being nitpicky about fashion is also true. If I had the means I’d have all the designs of clothes/jewelry/architecture in my head to be made. I’m rarely pleased with material things gifted to me as well because I find them not beautiful enough to be in my possession. I don’t want to own them or take care of anything that isn’t beautiful or that I can’t turn into something beautiful. And also creating and appreciating art
Much awaited article given that have 2 planets in this constellation – Moon & Saturn. Though Saturn is in Virgo side and moon in libra in sign exchange with Venus. So I could read as Venus + Moon in Libra (Chitra) and Saturn in Virgo (Chitra). Saturn is also my atmakarka. Thanks for this reminder on focus on collection of merits in this lifetime with focal planets in this constellation. Grateful as ever! Also to all those people who think I am arrogant – I am exclusive 🙂 Born this way
I’ve been doing research on warriors/athletes that have this nakshatra only two profound ones that I’ve noticed that have a prominent placement of this nakshatra. #1 Gennady golvkin triple ggg one of the best boxers of today has his moon on this nakshatra also Alexander the Great has his Mars in chitra the 29th degree. Of course one of the most successful and remembered conquerors. So this nakshatra must add an extra boost of fame /power to the athletes even though like you said by itself it’s not very good for fights or sports
Great one, thanks Simon! My question is about the interaction of planets with Nakshatras/fix stars, since these are an independent layer in Astrology, do we still get the positive influence of the fix stars if the planet that conjuncts them is badly placed in our charts? Are they gonna balance its negativity or make it even worse ?(in case the interaction is related to the chart)
Through my personal experience I can confirm the accuracy. It’s happening in my 1st house and it gave me a lot of capability to observe myself and self-reflect. Mars here can bring tumultuous energy in the subconscious, I found that meditation is an excellent way to calm the moon/emotions. Overall your article just confirmed about everything I’ve observed with myself. Thank you so much 🙏🏾
I’ve always seen all male gods in the Greek and Roman pantheon as aspects of the masculine and subsequently all female gods as the feminine. So when I see Mars as the ruler of Chitra and the symbols of the pearl or gemstone—something that is created over time and under pressure—I think of Venus rising from the sea foam after Uranus was castrated. Mars has sacrificed his sexual creative energy (Virgo-virginity) in favor of creating beauty (Libra-balance) in the world instead. So interesting! Oh! And this is the first nakshatra where the planets are rising out of their natal position below the horizon which ties in nicely with your description of achieving spiritual enlightenment through a mastery of the material.
