Can a 13 year old watch Good Omens?
The show is a quirky, entertaining show suitable for a wide age range, featuring great acting, an interesting storyline, and hilarious scenes. While there are some violent scenes, no blood or gore, and a brief sex scene, the language is infrequent but strong. The show is influenced by prostitution and pornography, and Common Sense Media’s unbiased ratings are created by expert reviewers, not influenced by the product’s creators or any of its funders, affiliates, or partners.

What font is used for eye strain?
When choosing a font for web content, consider serif or sans serif fonts for their eye-catching appearance. Serif fonts are less decorative and offer a wider range of readable options. Avoid script and decorative fonts for most web content. Test accessibility on existing fonts to ensure they meet web content accessibility guidelines and line lengths. If necessary, consider switching to a different font like sans serif or serif.
Font size is also crucial for accessibility, as even a slight bump below the minimum can affect readability. Choose fonts with ample thickness to ensure they can be easily viewed against white or dark backgrounds, regardless of color.
What’s the most aesthetic font?
Aesthetic fonts can spur creativity and help create memorable experiences for viewers. Some popular options include Helvetica, Cooper Black, Calming, Playfair Display, Bebas Neue, Benguiat, Northwell, and Didot. Fonts can add character, flair, or authoritative information to your branding assets, making them akin to choosing the right outfit for a job interview or hairstyle for a big dance. Choose a font that reflects your personal style and adds a touch of character to your art, website, or social media posts. These stylish, aesthetic fonts can elevate your videos and social media posts.
Does Good Omens have LGBT characters?
Good Omens season two is a refreshing departure from the usual LGBTQ+ show, with the cast’s support for the LGBTQ+ community. Tennant, Sheen, and Gaiman have all shown their commitment to queer characters and actors, not only in Good Omens but also in other shows like The Sandman and American Gods. This allyship is heartwarming and necessary, especially in light of JK Rowling’s hateful comments towards the trans community. Gaiman has never tried to retcon queerness into his work, unlike Rowling who admitted to thinking of Dumbledore as gay in Harry Potter books.
The show’s second season is praised for its increased queerness, and if Prime Video orders a third season, fans can expect more queerness and joy for the protagonists. Gaiman has promised to write another Good Omens novel if the show isn’t renewed, but the lesson is to avoid ending a beloved queer show on a cliffhanger before it’s confirmed for another season.
What is the horror font?
Gothic and Horror fonts are a popular style that evokes Halloween-like atmospheres, with Gothic fonts reminiscent of haunted houses and gravestones. Horror fonts, inspired by popular horror movie titles like The Shining, Halloween, Frankenstein, and The Exorcist, provide a nostalgic feel while incorporating the creepy side. What is the easiest font to read with bad eyesight?
Many standard and widely available fonts, such as Tahoma, Calibri, Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, and Times New Roman, are highly accessible for web accessibility. Additionally, slab serif fonts like Arvo, Museo Slab, and Rockwell are considered accessible, but are mostly used in headings. Sans serif fonts are considered more accessible for screen reading, but research is not conclusive. To ensure the best outcome, it is recommended to choose common fonts or font families with strong and unique characters. Opting for more common fonts over less popular ones increases the likelihood of a website visitor’s device correctly displaying the content.

What font is most eye catching?

Avenir’s balanced and consistent letterforms ensure maximum readability from a distance and in different lighting conditions. Its legibility makes it easy to read even at small sizes, ensuring the message is received from afar. Its minimalistic design draws attention to the message rather than the font itself, making it an excellent choice for advertisers who prioritize the message’s impact.
📹 Lover Boy // Good Omens // Animatic
This took a whole got damn month to finish and i honestly have no idea why i decided to do this, especially a week after reading …
I just adore you and your articles. I have a few British friends (mother and son) that I haven’t gotten to see much since quarantine started. They’re some of the most lovely, genuine, and hilarious people I’ve ever met. I enjoy perusal these articles so much. No only are you super funny and reviewing books that I both have enjoyed or hated with a passion, but your sense of humor reminds me so much of Deb and Mike it’s like listening to them talk about pretty much anything they’re passionate about.
You are making me so happy with your articles lately because all of a sudden you do lots of stuff I’ve actually read. I love Good Omens and am very excited for the series. I even did a written trailer breakdown of the first trailer. I never do stuff like that. My conclusion was that there was an amazing amount of stuff in the trailer that I recognized from the book. Almost every scene in fact. That’s why I expect the upcoming show to be quite faithful. Edit: I guess the narrative function of the arrival of the hell hound (or lack thereof depending on the perspective) was to have Aziraphale and Crowley realize that something went awry. The hound not showing up when expected was what got them to investigate and got their plot rolling.
I have just watched this article. I hope you were wonderfully surprised…I adore the TV adaptation, and I completely understand and share the feels you were feeling at the end of the article. Sir Terry was a very important influence in my life, and I have been delighted to share his works with my partner.
Dom, I need to thank you! I’d never even heard of this book before, but your description of it made me go and buy it for my kindle. And I have to say, I already love it a few pages in. Thank you for giving me the final push I needed to read a terry pratchett book and informing me of the upcoming show which I’m now looking forward to.
Also, queen songs used: somebody to love, these are the days of our lives, you’re my best friend, under pressure, bohemian rapshody, I’m in love with my car, and there could be others, but these ones can be heard at various points. Queen though used in the book was perfect as a sound track! Love it. Who doesn’t love queen?!?
I was devastated when Terry died. I still get teary when I think about it. I don’t understand how someone as talented as he can die so young and wastes of space like the Kardashians are still going strong. The world is indeed not a fair place. I can’t help but think what other works he could have produced if he was still alive. But he left a huge body of work so until the end of time, we have much to pass down to future generations. The world is richer for him being in it but poorer because he’s now gone.
They adapted Good Omens into a radio play a few years back and cast Peter Serafinowicz as Crowley and the guy who played Merlin from Merlin as Newt Pulsifer, anyway the radio play downplayed the Queen references and opened with Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett as two cops investigating Crowley’s Bentley and getting eaten by the trunk. It’s nice to play on long car rides.
Finally a book that I have actually read before you got to covering it on your show. I am a way bigger fan of Pratchett´s work, my book shelf having a dedicated section just for his books, but I am also familiar with a couple of Gaiman´s books. I definitely enjoyed this one a whole giant lot more than the Long War books that Pratchett co-wrote.
Yes! This book was my first experience with both Pratchett and Gaiman and I loved and read it countless times since!! I’ve been waiting all damn year for this show and trying to convince everybody I meet to read the book which definitely earned me a few strange looks at the airport but it was worth it!
Loved the review (though I’m a bit disappointed you didn’t somehow work the word “ineffable” into it) and I’m curious to see how well the book will translate to the screen. I do remember reading they changed the ending on purpose so even those of us who’ve read the book won’t know what to expect. So far it looks great though (and the “That New Baby Smell” song was hilarious). I’m looking forward to seeing your adaptation review, whenever it’ll come out.
I’m old enough to have read almost all of Terry’s books as they were published. I adored Good Omens from the moment I picked it up and nearly 30 years later feel exactly the same about it. I’m not old enough to have watched Omen at the cinema but it was the very first Horror film myself and my friends dared to watch on VHS tape lol scared the shit out of us then but guessing 12 year olds would laugh at it today. There are several references to Omen in the book (along with other pop culture of the time) Warlock’s nanny from Hell saying “he’ll be wanting a little tricycle soon” is a reference to Damian pushing his mother off a balcony with his tricycle.
You give the most honest review of good Omens I have seen! Thank you, you have made this review so interesting that it made me interested in the book and I read it and now it is my favorite book thank you again for introducing me to the perfect book for me. By the way Crowley is my favorite character. 🙂
I love the way it’s written. A lot of things are shown not just told and simultaneous events are established with differing points of view and perspectives. Each character no matter how small their role in the story is given development. Example: characters are introduced with their purposes and characterisation shown not told: Newt being useless with electronics is established with him blacking out the whole of their street as a little boy and at the same time, Anathema is introduced as reading The Book and so its shown that she’s intelligent, has always had this book and is very important to the plot. It is honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read.
I have the image of Neil Gaiman holding up a Hollywood-Suit by the throat with his Herculean strength and literal fire in his eyes Gaiman: “you want me to cut out WHAT?!” Suit: “nothing, nothing at all master. Please forgive me!” Gaiman: drops him “that’s what i thought you said, leave my sight at once, mortal!”
The ‘opposite sides of the battlefield’ meeting, I think, replaces a hint in the books that revolves around Crowley’s signature (pay attention to Aziraphale’s dialogue) as to just how long these two have known each other. Presumably there will also be something about Aziraphale and his sword (or lack, thereof).
Loved the series so much! Yes the CGI might have been scrappy but it fitted! And Sir Terry has long been a beloved author. I miss getting his new book for Christmas: a staple part of my holiday can never be had again. To hear that the Good Omens was a dying wish made me cry. Also love the fact that you named your cat that. I named my Ragdoll Greebo. Greebs will have been gone for three years now and like the author that gave me the name, I miss them both every day.
So fun fact other people working on good omens at the beginning where planing on not including Agnes Nuttern and instead using wood carvings. Neil thought about it for a moment and questioned what Terry would think of it and denied them saying we need the acctual sceen and his main reason was that Terry wrote that character and he wanted as much of Terry as he could in this adaptation. On top of al that he said he’s including many thing both he and Prachet had discussed about the book and characters which is why Gabriel is in it because they couldn’t fit him in the book and never made the sequel.
i hope you had a good time perusal Good Omens, my brother surprised me with the title this summer, i don’t really follow any sort of news and had no idea it was in the makings even, and i ended up very pleasantly surprised as i watched it with him since we rarely do watch things together, even less entire series of something. i was quite fond of the series myself, but it had been such a long time since i read the book (had lost it some odd number of years up in the attic) that i didn’t fully remember what was and what wasn’t in the book, but i remembered a lot of the things that made it into the series. -Terry P was one of the people i had hoped to once meet before he’d die, that didn’t happen, but i’m glad there’s still so much to remember him by. maybe you could do some Terry P memorial month where you review hogfather, the old cartoons, and good omens?
I had the honer of seeing it last night at Hollywood Forever and i can confirm that yes the reason why niel pushed so hard for this and was 1000000% involved in it was becuase of Terrys last wish. It is also why they showed it at a cemetery is becuase it what Terry would have wanted. Straight out on Neils mouth and all i can say Dom is dear God’s the first episode dose not disappoint and after the disappointment of American Gods im just soooo greatful Neil took so much effort in it and John Hamm as St Gabriel is perfect and the reason why Neil made st Gabriel is just so touching and shows how much of a good man he is and how much fans mean to him.
I saw Neil in person reading deleted scenes and talking about the show and his relationship with Terry Pratchett. My friends who weren’t Pratchett fans had no idea why I was sobbing. It is absolutely something he’s doing for the memory of his friend and I got the impression he had a lot more sway in this adaptation than he did for other series like American Gods. Can I come join you in the corner?
your previous comments on terry Pratchett have gotten me to pick up some of his books, starting with the death series, within the disk world series (i thought i knew what complicated cannons were before, i was wrong) they are very good and i’ve never seen this sort of one liner humor in a book before, its interesting
Watching this changed my mind about perusal the series. I mostly avoid horror stories, and the commercials indicated it would be in that genre. I’ve even debated reading the book. Which would make it the first in that genre that I have read since I became obsessed with Anne Rice back in the early 90’s.
I hope you’ll do a article on your thoughts about the show! I absolutely loved it and I really hope you did too! I’ve never read anything by Terry Pratchett but between this and the Diskworld movie my boyfriend made me watch (he too is a big fan) I’m definitely interested in checking out some of his work!
I… remember when the news hit he died. I felt devastated and pissed off beyond reason. I knew the sir was struggling, but… In my selfishness I wanted for him to stay with us for more years to come. Now I just hope his legacy will receive the respect it deserves. PS: The salesman were fine at the end of the book.
Freaked out when I got the notice. Oh man, I LOVE this book! So glad your talking about it. Was supper crushed by Pratchetts death. 🙁 Love him and Gaiman. Also… last Halloween, I went to a costume party as Crowley. XD Made me want to have a Queen plying Bentley. Im deturmed to have one, or at least the car. I was very excited for the netflix adaptation but when I saw the preview… the excitement died. I mean Tennent might do good but idk about he other guy. Im holding back until it comes out and reviews happen. Im sure it will be good if Gaiman is involved. You know hes gona really to do his best with this above anything else. I dont have netflix so idk when I can get to see it. very sad about that. Aww that bit at the end killed me, thats so sweet and touching with your kitty. <3
The line “Dining at the Ritz we’ll meet at nine precisely I will pay the bill, you taste the wine Driving back in style in my saloon will do quite nicely Just take me back to yours that will be fine ” is litteraly so on point with the second chapter when Crowley asks Aziraphale to help him save the world and I refuse to believe its not on purpouse
I just wrote a 700 word essay about this animatic so like. i thought i’d put it here too – The song really does feel like it was made for the show. Like, one of the lyrics at the end is “dining at the Ritz”. Guess what happens at the end of the show? THE HUSBANDS DINE AT THE DAMN RITZ. Also the entire song has the exact energy and vibes of the show and I love it. Bonus points for using a song by the same band whose songs are constantly featured in the show itself. Also, some of the lines are perfectly synced up – like, there’s two lines containing the word “love”, and the animatic is depicting the iconic “love” scene in the car. and one of the times the word love is actually lipsynced?? like?? FANTASTIC. Also, near the end there’s a bell sound in the song, and it’s synced with the husbands clinking two glasses of champagne, which is a REALLY nice touch and I adore it. And there’s a line about a telephone, and it’s synced with Aziraphale calling God, and while that’s not on a telephone, it’s still really cool. – Even though this is a six-hour show and the animatic is only three minutes long, it encapsulates everything perfectly. You might not understand who exactly the characters are if you haven’t seen the show/read the book, but if you have, you always know exactly what’s happening and which scene is meant. The pacing never feels off or too fast, and all in all it’s fantastic. – The transitions are AMAZING. 18/10. Like, near the end, when Aziraphale and Crowley are about to receive their punishments from Heaven and Hell respectively, Archangel Michael pours the Holy Water into the bathtub in Hell and the camera zooms in on the water and follows it down and it turns into the spire of hellfire and zooms out on “Aziraphale” and Gabriel in Heaven.
2:27 OKAY, so I took a moment to analyze this scene for a moment because I’ve watched this wonderful animatic countless times, but never understood why Crowley seemed embarrassed. I paused a few frames and realized that Aziraphale had been shuffling through music CDs to find one to play, when he found the “Top 40 Love Songs” one. He smugly shows Crowley, who is instantly flustered. It’s a short scene but it’s fucking adorable. And, c’mon, we all know why he had those CD’s. 😉 This will forever be my favorite GO animatic! 👌❤✨
This is Crowleys anthem that he sings whenever he and Aziraphale get drunk and do Karaoke, has no idea that Freddie wrote it about him, he honestly was too drunk that night to even remember their conversation, all he knows is that the song is perfect and that man must be some sort of genius.(I mean hes not wrong)
This is absolutely fantastic! I paused and went through the article frame by frame bc it was so fast, but full of so many good details!! Like when the icecream man gives them the icecream and they cross arms to grab the opposite treats! Simply amazing. Your style is just the right kind of cartoony that I love!!!
IT’S AMAZING, OH LORD PASSING “Good old-fashioned lover boy” SONG, DRAWING STYLE: – casual – so comfy – perfect animation in moments where Aziraphale starts talking to Crowley about splashes of love (and other moments too), also when Michael pours the holy water in the bathtub and it turns to hell fire. I just love it 😍, thank you Author!
I’m a simple man. I see a Good Omens animatic; I click. (seriously, that is one of my favourite parts of this fandom. There are so many amazing animatics, like why was that such a trend for go specifically? There are actually none for supernatural or doctor who, but there are thousands for go; I love it and I will try to watch them ALL)
HOW IN THE WORLD- THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ANIMATIC/ANIMATION/STORYBOARD (???) I’VE EVER SEEN, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE ART STYLE AND THE TRANSITIONS AND HOW FLUSTERED CROWLEY IS AND HOW HARD HE TRIED TO DENY IT AND OH MY GOD MY FAVOURITE PART IS THE FLAMING CAR, LIKE THAT WAS ON P O I N T MY DUDE👌👌👌
I’m finally gonna watch this show. You’ve convinced me. as I’ve in previous comments, I have never watched this show before and never planned on doing it. The most I’ve seen is Tumblr posts galore and animatics. But things like this.. just the content that is made for the series interests me to no end.
I LOVE HOW LITTLE MOMENTS SYNC UP WITH THE MUSIC AAAAAA- Edit ; ALMOST EVERY MOMENT SYNCS SO DAMN WELL WITH THE MUSIC I’M GONNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK. AAAAAAAAA EDIT 2; YOU EVER SEE A COMMENT POINTING OUT SOMETHING AND THE. YOU SEE IT AN ARE LIKE “OOOOO!” ? CAUSE I JUST HAD THAT MOMENT WITH THE TRANSITIONS.
i remember finding this animatic after perusal s1 for the first time and i absolutely LOVED it, now that i’ve watched s2 i decided to come back to it and holy mother i had forgotten how good it was :’) SPOILERS FOR S2 BELOW!! i still can’t believe this song appeared in s2 😭neil said that the two characters and their WHOLE relationship were based on this song also i’m very heartbroken at the end of the season :'( let’s hope we do get one more season and our beloved ineffable husbands can end up together
Words cannot describe how deeply I am in love with this. I’ve never been a huge fan of animations, but I see now that I simply didn’t come across the ones that are truly good yet. I just love this. Everything goes so smoothly, not to mention how gorgeously simple the art style is, and the ideas you came up with for how to portray the scenes! The facial expressions say so much about their relationship, it all goes together so well and I- GOD I love this. I don’t know enough about drawing to point out everything you did well, but I’ll just say that everything you did was good.
this is really well done! i rarely leave comments on youtube articles because i just dont have enough care to do it, no matter how much i want to share an opinion or point, but not today! i’d like you to know that this is really great and really beautiful and youre a great human being for blessing us with this
Wow. Okay. Wow. I can see why YouTube has been recommending this to me for months now. This is one of the best Good Omens animatics I’ve seen; turns out I really like canon-compliant (well, almost canon-compliant) animatics. You really did a great job telling their story and summarizing the events of the show as seen by them. (I pause to rewatch the article and take notes) – The way you draw the Bentley is top-notch, by the way. I can barely draw a car, so to see the Bentley drawn in perfect detail and style is super impressive to me. And your transitions are very creative and well-picked. Sixties Crowley’s (who’s adorable, by the way) sunglasses to the Bentley tires? Awesome. – Your syncing of events to the lyrics is great, too. “Write my letter” as Aziraphale prays to the Metatron was a great choice, and you managed to draw the Metahead without making it look strange that he was just a floating head. (side note: you got Shadwell so well; glad you gave him some love, too) – Flaming. Bentley. That is all. Also, you managed to get a lot of these events without words, and you did a great job with that. – Adam is adorable, and his standing up to Satan as the music picked up a little was an awesome moment. – The little detail of them crossing their hands to take the ice cream to signal that they switched places; I like that! It’s always nice when the artist pays attention to the little details. – THE TRANSITION. FROM THE POURING HOLY WATER TO THE COLUMN OF HELLFIRE. THAT WAS AWESOME.
