The MitM expansion introduces the Male elf and a large collection of Elf Spells. Players can choose three spells of an element from the core set, but the Elf can only select three of the eight Elven spells to use in each quest. Morcar spells are added as Tome Artifacts that can be used by any hero holding the associated tome.
The introduction of Elf Spells allows the Elf to reflect any monster’s spell back at the spellcaster, causing full effects on the spellcaster and all other monsters in the same room. The Wizard can choose a total of three spell groups, and players take on the role of one of four Heroes: Barbarian, Dwarf, Elf, or Wizard. Another player takes the role of Zargon/Morcar, the Game Master.
The Elf and Wizard can cast a spell instead of attacking, casting a spell at anything the hero can “see”, including themselves. The Wizard can only use Elf spells, and the Spell Ring allows the Wizard or Elf to cast one spell two times (not simultaneously).
The fearless Elf has been chosen to rescue the fair Princess, and to determine their worthiness, they must complete three dangerous Quests alone. The new Elf spell cards and Morcar spells offer more flexibility and variety for players.

How do known spells work?
A spell is a discrete magical effect that shapes the energies that suffuse the multiverse into a specific, limited expression. To use a spell, a spellcaster must have the spell firmly fixed in mind or have access to it in a magic item. Certain classes, like bards and sorcerers, have a limited list of known spells. Spellcasting is a crucial skill in fantasy gaming, and different character classes have unique ways of learning and preparing their spells. How do Warlocks use spells?
In the 3. 5 Edition source book Complete Arcane, 18 Warlocks were introduced, who received their abilities through supernatural beings like demons or feys. They are either born with these powers or receive them through a fell pact, turning their soul into a dark font of eldritch powers. Warlocks do not cast spells but use spell-like abilities called “invocations”, which represent the tapping of the power granted to them. The most important of these abilities is the “eldritch blast”, which is their main offensive ability, firing a blast of magical energy at the target.
The major difference between warlocks and other Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition magic users is their ability to use their invocations “at will”, without a limit on the number of times an invocation can be cast. In contrast, Vancian magic users, such as wizards, cast a set number of spells every day from a wider selection of spells than a warlock.
The warlock’s biggest advantage is no real limit on the number of times per day they can use their powers. They have a few powers with limited uses per day, but 90% of their powers have no such restriction. However, they give up spell versatility, knowing only a handful of different tricks, which are all spooky, creepy, and oozing with flavor.
