Is the voice evil in Amulet?

Ikol, also known as the “Voice”, is the main antagonist in the Amulet series, appearing in the first stages of “The Stonekeeper”. He is a stone-bound entity that guides Emily and is subject to suspicion. The voice resembles a specter, with an elongated body and tail-like structure. It has little to no facial features except for an illuminating pink symbol resembling its stone. Occasionally, it displays a mouth, revealing a wide, menacing grin. In Prince of the Elves, it was shown as a tentacled, ghost-like mass of darkness. In “Firelight”, it can have a more ghostly appearance due to his gain in power.

The voice’s personality is enigmatic, secretive, clandestine, surreptitious, and manipulative, especially in matters involving other stones’ voices. It maintains morals, as demonstrated when it discusses with Max about his past actions and consoles him. It also has a twisted sense of humor, referring to Chronos as “Max’s loyal steed” before crushing him with a stalactite without any feeling.

As a single, enigmatic being, Ikol serves as the embodiment of the amulet, primarily communicating between the stone and its keeper. Each stone is created from fragments of the Mother Stone, and its involvement in Alledia’s affairs is initially questioned. Ikol’s history is that his Masters, small, timid robots, fled from its dying planet due to resource exhaustion.

Most extraterrestrials were cared for by shadows, and a ship full of shadows and the Voice were sent to find a new world for the beings, leading to the planet Alledia. The voice’s involvement in Alledia’s affairs is initially questioned, but it is possible that it is part of a larger community of beings.

Does Trellis like Emily in Amulet?

In the first book, Trellis and Emily’s relationship begins as antagonistic, with Emily almost killing him. However, Emily allows Trellis to run away and never come near her or her family again. In the second book, Emily and Trellis cross paths again, and Luger realizes Trellis is hesitant to kill Emily and her family. Trellis manages to find them quickly and save Emily for the first time.

In book 3, they become allies, and after a few bumps and turns into friends. They express a desire to protect each other, especially Trellis towards Emily, who has saved him on multiple occasions. In “The Last Council”, Emily is upset over Trellis and Luger being taken to prison without her knowledge and being lied to about their living conditions. Trellis seems to have faith in Emily’s ability to figure something out, and their relationship grows positively.

Tremily’s relationship with Emily begins to grow in books 7 (Firelight) and 8 (Supernova). In Firelight, Emily wants to go with Trellis into his memories, and he doesn’t show much opposition to the idea. Emily cares about Trellis, but she disregards him when going through the portal she thinks they should. Trellis follows her and is there until she becomes the Firebird. Emily gives him the task of finding her family and bringing her back, but this is not usually used as evidence because Trellis was the only one there.
