Stupid idea, but: They could have implemented such a cool meta narrative with that voting stuff. You know, make the actual people in the cinema vote live if Matt should survive or not. Making the audience the Charons, which would kind of make sense. After all, we entered the cinema knowing that some characters would die, we wanted to see characters suffer for our own amusement.
When you said that the dark web is a dangerous corner of the internet, this is what I imagined. Random Guy 1: Where am I? Random Guy 2: The Internet. Random Guy 1: What? Really? they should’ve all ran to the police station as soon as they got threats, even THEN, who in world would stick around and just watch their friends get killed without thinking that they’re targets whether they stay or not? And after perusal one person get attacked from behind they all just keep looking at the screen instead of behind themselves. Also, who stands THAT close to a train? And one of the guys straight-up killed a woman in public, ON CAMERA, he can bet his ass the subway’s guards are gonna be all over him before he even leaves.

There were SO many mistakes in this movie. At least they admitted it was a setup in the end, so they saved themselves a little. (The guy has a laptop with all of this top secret stuff on it and he just forgets it at a cafe and his password is just a question mark. Plus, nothing else on the computer is password protected. Yeah, sure. Totally believable.) I don’t make YouTube articles, but I want to make one just listing all of the mistakes. Like how he checks the Norah C. message while he’s still logged into his own account. Whoops! Or how he has a article chat open with his girlfriend, so she can see his webcam, and he’s perusal his friends get killed so he’s freaking out. I know the GF can’t hear, but she doesn’t think it’s weird that he’s crying and screaming? She never asks if he’s alright? Oh…My favorite part was when he would refuse to type to her so he made her read his lips, but then his mouth wouldn’t be in the frame and somehow she was able to read them anyway. That’s impressive.
There’s also two more ending that you missed. 3rd ending (They Earned It): One is where Matias meets with Amaya at the spot where thy first kissed but are caught by two Charon’s. A vote is held up to decide whether they should live or die and it at first looks like they are gonna die until one of the hackers shows a article in when Matias drains the money from Charon IV’s bank account into his own and demands Erica Dunne to be returned back safely. This sways the voters to letting them both live as it appears to impress them for what he did. 4th ending: Shows Matias looking for Amaya at the warehouse only to find a gun on the ground next to the camera. A vote is started asking people if Matias will kill himself. However it ends before the it is shown whether or not he committed suicide or not. There’s actually two more extra endings you missed, not the greatest nor is it important. On the DVD ending (called ‘They_Earned_It.m4v’), Matias and Amaya actually get to meet up at the place where they first kissed. They then get restrained by two Charon’s that come out of nowhere and The Circle holds a vote whether they get to live. The majority votes ‘no’ but a article played by a Charon shows a clip of Matias earlier in the film where he extorts the bitcoin from Charon IV in exchange for Erica’s freedom. This later convinces the majority to vote ‘yes’, thus leaving Matias and Amaya to live. Though Erica still shows up at Matias’ apartment and screams for help at the computer at the end. On an alternate DVD ending, Matias finds the warehouse where the Charons took Amaya. She is nowhere to be found, but as Matias looks around the place, he finds a revolver and starts to contemplate on suicide. A Charon then pulls a poll whether Matias will kill himself or not. The film ends before Matias makes the decision.
You should do the Slender man movie next it’s coming out soon! Okay first off anyone who reads this that thinks about the kids getting killed or the girl who survived the attack I don’t mean that it’s a good idea but we need to see a movie that is based on a game. So if people give hate off of this comment just cause of what happen to the kids then go somewhere else and explain to the production that’s making the movie like calm down I freaked out when I heard about the news!
This is so dumb lol. If someone was legit running ops on the Dark Web, they would have encrypted the computer, probably used a Hidden OS (like Tails encrypted and the installation hidden inside of say… windows) and/or Used a bootable OS on a seperate flash drive. Furthermore, they would know all the passwords to their computer and would probably just go in and either wipe the computer or have already put in place a program that would either just wipe the computer remotely or (if they were really techy) fry the computer by suddenly causing the CPU to overclock well beyond its capabilities to cause physical damage.

I dont understand why people go along with what the bad guys say, like not turning off your computer or youll die like wtf, im just supposed to take their word for it. You probably won’t see this comment but hey I might as well try…there’s this great movie I saw on Netflix they just released the movie today it’s called Extinction. I’d be so happy if you made a review on this movie. It’s kind of has the same concert as the clover field movies. Which I think you might find interesting. I loved this over the first because the horror felt more real, as it could happen, The glitch effect its stupid, but the idea of a criminal underworld having control over whatever you do and being able to do anything they want if you cross them is pretty good. Also the first one is ghosts but on skype. This one didn’t have to do much to be better tbh
So are you telling me that there’s essentially a swatting in this film? That’s… interesting, and honestly the last thing I expected in to hear was in a film. I personally am not offended by it, but I can foresee people being annoyed and calling it tasteless as the first swatting death occurred at the end of last year, if memory serves correctly.
I loved it! So good, all the people who didn’t like it didn’t see it brilliance. This was a mystery thriller more than a horror. Horror people would be disappointed because they are wanting the horror to be the dominant theme. It is smarter than a generic horror. It is engrossing, trying to understand what is happening with a sense of out of control impending doom. The way they try to find the best solution is what we are doing as viewers too. We feel the confusion too and feel the dred that is accumulating. The way the screen is used to interact and reveal information is very clever and engaging. This is an excellent film, a solid 9 or 10.
Honestly, this is the one film i can confidently say was leagues better than its predecessor. I felt a lot more connected to these characters and this was the first horror movie that made me really care about it’s main cast, while the first one made me really root for the antagonist. Either way, this movie was a delight to watch and is probably one of my favorite movies.
Based on the fact that the 2nd Unfriended is based on what happens to the unlucky who somehow get in the dark web I’m thinking that the first one had the died girl paying people from the Dark Web to scare and kill to ones who caused her to commit suicide while makeing it look like a ghost did it after pretending to be her.
Honestly, this movie is so shit, let’s just talk about Clue some more, because it is a hell of a lot better. Because it’s not only just hysterical and clever, but also a lot deeper than most people give it credit. Semi-Spoilers! The entire movie’s events are the result of the height of the McCarthyism era. You can see the cook perusal the McCarthy-Welch “No Sense of Decency” exchange being broadcast live while she’s making dinner, and all of the reasons the characters are blackmailed for were common moral panics of the age. Homosexuality, corruption, prostitution and soliciting prostitution (as well as other forms of ‘sexual immorality’ such as…), adultery, and being associated to or being a socialist were all accusations that were commonly thrown around, and even just being accused of such a thing could ruin someone’s life, even if it wasn’t true, thus explaining why the characters are all so desperate to keep the information from getting out in the first place.
I didn’t like the first full, it had pretty bad logic and stupid decision, but this girl was worse, it only multiplied the bad logic and stupid decisions, throwing in things that aren’t possible, there’s no ring of hackers that big, and that connected, and the nonsense about the deep web is mostly untrue, for one you can not stream on the dark web, and there’s no group that powerful and that rich that can control and manipulate things so finely and detailed. But I did like how the movie had two endings, so that’s pretty cool.

I’ve been perusal the movie 2 times..well because im bored and the acting kind of interesting…and then..theres is something keep saying on my head..after they know its real..did nobody leave screen and watch around? Like prepare with some stuff that can fight back or smthing..like come on..the killer use knife..even people need to be shot twice do died sometimes..and then, who the heck wait train like nari? Not me of course..people gonna walk out, so let them out first and make way, after that not watch your surroundings? He didn’t “steal” the laptop; he said it was sitting there (and taking up space) in the lost and found for months, It was either abandoned or hopelessly lost—or the owner was dead. (Of course, the ideal thing to do would be to look through it for personal information to track down the owner.) The hackers used a weird and random article codec. Some vids were massive (tens of GB) while other were tiny (a few MB). 😕
So there is actually 4 endings another one is when people show up in the groups cams and then it zooms out to show the whole thing was a show which was actually the first ending then another one is where Matais meets Amanda and they have a vote and he actually survives the last one is that matias arrives at the ware house and something happens
Rewatching this article, I realized there’s another ending I saw, where they vote for Matias and Amaya to live and they meet up in the end and survive? They looked like they were in a desert though, not a park like he described. The ending is here on YouTube somewhere, but I just realized that ending wasn’t included in this article.
I knew something was off when nobody took the laptop after 3-4 weeks but when he took it and signed in, suddenly the owner wanted to get the laptop. I mean, you’re talking about a Macbook. If I lose my Macbook, I will try hard to think of the last place I went and surely I won’t wait for 3-4 weeks to actually search for it. I thought it was a plot hole, turned out it WAS the PLOT.
Actually Dark web has 4 endings: 1.Mattais gets buried alive while his girlfriend doesnt realise she’s over his grave 2. Mattais and his girlfriend get set free 3. The one where he’s hit by a car 4. After Mattais girlfriend gets taken, He finds a gun and the dark web watchers wonder if he’s going to commit suicide and the movie ends.
As someone who’s interested in network security and pentesting, there was about 2 things that were accurate in this movie. 1, it’s possible to bait someone with a laptop for the purpose of social engineering them into a sick game, and 2, IRC chats are real but idk if this “river” chat is real or not. That’s about it. Other than that, the whole trouble could have been avoided if he just turned off all his electronics and made sure he wasn’t connected to the Internet lol. And then call the cops.

The hackers plan to blame the teens seems so flawed. There’s no way they could pin it all on them without major holes missing in the story. Plus everyone minus the guy in London was murdered so there’d have to be evidence of foul play. Don’t even get me started on that horrible face swap photoshop in the cam footage. DOCTORED IMAGE!
