  • I think that Bob himself acknowledged the fact that he was biracial / dual heritage, what ever we want to call it. Maybe just maybe that was a a starting point of him wanting to unite the world ? Just a thought ! And maybe we should respect the fact that he had both black and white heritage. Perhaps we should celebrate that ? One love ❤ I am a white mother of dual race children, I have alway taught them to be proud of who they are . I also have a white daughter and taught her to be proud of who she is. They have all grown up to be successful in their own right, I brought them up on my own and worked 3 jobs at one time. We all do what we have / need to do to survive. May have been considered poor but, we were rich in love and still are . Just like so many others. X

  • No matter his ethnicity, what matters most is his nationality. Born a poor Jamaican raised by a single mother because of a dead beat father, who grew in hardship and expressed his experience with music and the rest is history. I am thankfull for his absentee father because if he was raised not wanting for anything we wouldn’t have your legacy today #legend.

  • My grandson seen a picture of Marley and called him Jesus, I had to correct him and tell him, no but they’re kin, discernment of a two year old he could clearly see the family strong genes in Marley. He and my grandfather favored each other yet there was sixteen branches between them, but they look like each other. Them some strong genetics my own son favors the same genetics and one of my four brothers. You can see how much Doc Holliday, Jesse James and Bob Marley favor their family lineage cool that they look like each other. ONE tree, ONE family, ONE religion and that’s LOVE, we still needed him and others, we still needed them. The change is here prayers for our family.

  • Bob’s father Norval Marley born in East Sussex, was a construction engineer. He joined the British army during WWI but did not go to the front because of incontintence of urine and non attributed rheumatism. He was 1.65m tall weight 56 kg. Norval’s family were Jewish refuges from Syria. Bob sang about his father’s family in the song Cornerstone. Probalbly they owned a facory but Bob did not get money from them because they did not see him as a family member. (Neurotic Captain/The Daily Star)

  • I understand from Bob Marley’s film about his dad that he knew but they called hin Captain Marley And was often on a horse I also understand that his mum was about 16 at the time and he’s dad captain Marley was in he’s 60s. A big age difference… I thought it was very sad and upsetting when Bob Marley went to visit his half brothers also in Jamaica as they run some type of building industry there they turn Bob Marley away and said they didn’t know of their dad having this child but he clearly looked so much like he’s half brothers Bob Marley was clearly somebody special.. I would go so far to say that he was meant to be born and be a reggae singer. musician he without a doubt put Jamaica on the world map he was clearly kind-hearted people would often line up in the Street and Bob Marley would have someone go out and give them some money he’s 2/2 middle class Step Brothers that refused to help Bob Marley they be come a nobody.. Bob Marley was clearly upset he wanted his half brothers to help if one thing people should learn from this is don’t look down at the poor… I was listening to Bob Marley songs at the age of about 10 or 11 years old that was a long time ago and I still listen to Bob Marley songs today I had many good Jamaican friends in my class at school in the UK in London the colour of my skin and the colour of the Jamaican friends skin did not matter one bit and never even crossed my mind now I hope you people out there that have read this true story treat each for who you are and not the colour of your skin and never look down upon the poor follow in the footsteps of Bob Marley and you won’t go wrong from Daniel hills and Kevin mulligan UK England.

  • So at 50, he bedded a 17-year-old who gave birth to Bob Marley, and he abandoned them to poverty. Imagine if he had sent him to boarding school in Inglan instead. There wouldn’t have been the Bob Marley we know today. Everything happens for a reason. Thank him for being irresponsible. Look what it gave the world.

  • The gift of embodying two disparate groups of people – you can understand the struggles and insecurities of the system. The struggle of the oppressed and the insecurities of the oppressor and decode those issues with more clarity than being on one side or the other. It’s hard because we are not black enough nor white enough…but we were born enough according to JAH!

  • 2002 i was taking home a father and son Scarsdale Ny and on the radio came on one love and the father said to his son at the time the kid was 4 yrs old so the father ask his son who is that singing and he said dad you know who is that you play his album every Sunday in the house and my clients that i drop off that day was Jews so just to show you he was love bye them to and many others all over the world rip Bob

  • Bob Marley had a biracial half sister on his father’s side .Bob father was married to a black woman before he met Bob’s mother and had a daughter. He wasn’t apart of her life either the same way he wasn’t apart of Bob’s life.So Bob Father did this before Bob and repeated it with Bobs mom.Bob never met his half sister Constance .And Bob’s father never told Bob’s mom about her .It wasnt discovered until Bob’s mom went into a store and Constance was working there when they found out they had the same last name and Bobs mom revealed she is Bobs mom to Constance .Constance revealed she is Bobs half sister on his father’s side and told her the story.Bob mom told him about her but they never met.

  • They say Norval Marley was of Jewish Syrian origin thus making Bob part Jewish. Bob a rastafarian most of his life converted to Christianity in a Miami hospital before dieing. He was baptized by the Ethiopian Coptic Christian church who also performed his funeral Evangelist Roger Mansour former manager of Junior Braitwaite from the original WAILERS

  • Why is this even being posted? Didn’t Bob Marley’s father turn his back on Bob and Bob’s mother? Don’t give this folks one second of your breath. There is a difference between ‘family’ and being related…Being related means you share a bloodline, a common ancestor. That does NOT make you ‘family’. That’s something altogether different.

  • I would like to say that I found out Bob Marley was half white upon googling him for the first time when I came across a quote of Bob Marley saying that his parents were like any other slave story white men breed black woman and I was taken back like wow he actually described the making of himself like that because most mixed people wouldn’t do such a thing but it was not until later that I would find out that his parents were not actually together, his father not in his life. I had a lot of interesting first impressions about Bob Marley. And at first I assumed he was a light skin black man in his 40s.

  • Bob’s parents were indeed married. Bob’s father provided financial assistance to them but was seldom around so Bob did not have much of a relationship with his father and he died when Bob was only 10 years old. His father was much older than his mother and was around the age of 60 when Bob was born. The common misconception that Bob was his illegitimate child who was shunned is not true. His father was a roamer and certainly carried on multiple affairs so perhaps Bob got his lady’s man technique from the old man.

  • Norval Sinclair Marley was a White Jamaican. Norval was born in Jamaica to Albert Thomas Marley, an Englishman whose family originated from from Sussex, better source needed) England, and Ellen Marley née Bloomfield. Norval was a British Jamaican . During World War I he traveled to England where he joined the British Army in August 1916 at Liverpool, enlisting in the non-combatant Labour Corps (serving in the United Kingdom); he had previously been employed as a ferro-concreter in Cuba. Norval later claimed to be a captain in the Royal Marines.(citation needed) He was a plantation overseer, when in 1944 he married Cedella Malcolm, an Afro-Jamaican then 18 years old. Their relationship began when he was approximately 60 years old and she was 17. Marley’s family was made up of British Jamaicans from the parish of Clarendon, but he relocated for work purposes to Saint Ann Parish where Cedella had grown up and resided. Cedella gave birth to their son Nesta Robert “Bob” Marley on 6 February 1945. No other children arose from this relationship and the couple separated after a short time. Norval provided financial support for his wife and child, but seldom saw them. Bob Marley never really came to know his father, who died when he was 10.

  • truth is, alot of people, black and white, are mixed. i use to work at a lab in birmingham england and witnessed the dna testing of random people to figure out what or if they are mixed with other races. 90 percent of people are mixed. alot of blacks are mixed with white dna. some with asian dna, latin dna. same for whites too. i remember this old lily white lady was tested, only to find out she had black dna in her blood. she was very very dissapointed to the point where she look depressed. but my point is most people around the world arnt straight black, white, asian etc etc, so stop with the racial bullshit. its 2017 and we are suppose to be beyond that.

  • Bob’s Euro father was a big hard-back 59 year old when he married 18 y/o Cedella Booker. He was of no use to Bob and dropped dead age 70 when Bob was 10. The English Marley clan still don’t want to know about the Caribbean Marleys even now. Bob should have made his mother’s maiden name famous. Still, it is what it is.

  • People are equally tribulus to this time and era when this child was this child was conceived it was definitely frowned upon especially in Jamaica for a white man to romantically and romance a woman of color and to procreate with children so it is easily accepted that the family did not accept him however his mother said the father did even though he left which was probably pressure from the family

  • Btw, bobs half sister pearl was the offspring of bobs mom (cedella Booker) and bunnys father (Mr. Livingston..can’t remember first name)… furthermore Andrew tosh in someway is an offspring between peter and bunnys families, and then there’s a child that links the marleys/bookers to the Macintosh/morris families…therefore, bob, peter and bunny weren’t just family by name, but by blood

  • Hotep world. Bob may look like his father family but he is truely African. The jewish people will tell you- if the mom is not jewish then the offspring is not. Mommies carry that special gene. Only a person of African descent can experience the power of the Christ. Bob was the latest Christ. Christ is the highest level of spiritual or better yet mental growth. This level can only be attained ny people who Love completely. One of the power of the Christ is in the power of the spoken word. There is no doubt in my mind that Bob had this shakra opened and was using it. Still in doubt? Well look at Rasta Fari today. Millions all over the world, all ethnic groups hailing HIM. All because of Bob. When you look at Bob life you see the parallels with the Christ written in tje Bible. The problem with what we were THOUGHT is – we think Christ is this person outside of us. Even-though all Africans can get to that level mentally only a few will. We have strayed from the teachings of Thoth- Budda-Tehuti who is Hermes Trismigustis- The teacher of all teachers. The Three time Master of masters. Ashea to all Ancestors.

  • So he’s suppose to get treated differently because he’s Bob Marley he’s half white which means his bloodline isn’t pure and neither are his children I been stop messing with them when I realized that they identify with their white side with all them white wives I don’t could condone interracial dating not because I don’t like certain it’s about people not knowing their history that’s what’s the saddest part smh
