  • To those of you saying “Why did Yuuki say no way about Kirito cutting magic in the air when she beat him” it’s very simple why. Kirito used his knowledge of deflecting bullets in GGO and applied it to ALO. He even said it himself, that knocking spells out of the air compared to a bullet from a high speed rifle is nothing” or something like that. Kirito is the only person in ALO and GGO who KNOWS how to do this sort of thing because of logic.

  • One big thing about Kirito, is that according to the original short stories (I have not read them, but have a friend who has), Kirito is basically a living fucking supercomputer with how quickly he analyzes a situation and figures out exactly how to do stuff like this. They make him even more hilariously Mary Sue than he already is. The thing about cutting Magic out of the air like this is that there is basically a tiny “core” of the spell that he has to aim for. Effectively, he has to not only be fast enough to actually hit the spell, he has to aim for a tiny hitbox probably the size of a pea inside each spell projectile at that insanely high speed. And he does this flawlessly every time. Rapid-fire. Though I will say, what I’ve heard about how it explains what happened with the Gleam Eyes Illusion during that Fairy Dance arc was admittedly pretty cool, and actually made sense within the context of what we already knew.

  • For those who are complaining about yuuki saying no way when she beat kirito, keep this in mind, he was holding back at the first fight and even in the tournament, if he wasnt holding back, he wouldve used skill connect or even beat her with only one sword like when kirito beat death gun with one sword

  • For those not understanding why people are so confused at what Kirito did was because in the novel it was explained that magic core are so small that it’s actually smaller than an anti material bullet. The reason why after this that it doesn’t compare to a anti material bullet is because while anti material bullets are larger, it is much faster than a smaller yet slower magic’s core.

  • There was a scene where it is said that Kirito never goes full strength unless he is protecting his friends and the ones he loves, I believe they said when it’s a matter of life and death too? That only then is his true strength shown. I believe it was when he was catatonic and they were talking about his brain function.

  • It pains me so much that as soon as sao and ggo were over, be held back soo much. Like he could have won against yuuki if he was still in sao and had a reason to. Even without dual wielding, he still has incredible reflexes and speed, we never see yuuki get close to that. When yuuki said “no way” she meant it as saying that she didn’t know she was more powerful than even she was. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, didn’t yuuki say that she would have accepted kirito if he didn’t find out her secret? (Also don’t come after me in the replies, i was just bored)

  • Okay, so it’s not explained in the anime, but in the LN spells have a very small hitbox to detect when they have come into contact with something, kirito basically uses a sword skill to hit that box, dispelling the spell because it hit non-physical damage like an elemental sword skill, instead of an actual target, like a wall or player.

  • Kirito in anime: “I AM POWER AND GRACE INCARNATE! WATCH ME SLICE THROUGH MAGIC!” Kirito in books: Goes through months of practice trying to break the game by taking advantage of a glitch. Many people hate the books as much as the anime. But I will say this. This scene just made so much more sense in the book, by having him need to actually WORK to earn his skill. Not just flail a sword and be fantastic at everything like the anime makes you believe. XD

  • I know plenty of people have already demolished the notion that “Kirito is stronger than Yuuki because she can’t cut spells,” but let me add to that again. I will state that THIS IS NOT about whether Yuuki is stronger than Kirito overall, though I believe statements from Kawahara himself conclusively answer that question. 1. A brief summary of the agreed-upon facts: 1a. First, we all know that Kirito’s experiences in GGO were what inspired him to try the technique in ALO. That experience in both games is presumably not common, especially given the proliferation of VRMMORPGs in-universe by that point. If Kirito hadn’t gone into GGO, it logically follows that the possibility wouldn’t have occurred to him–even if it did, without the experience from GGO, we can safely assume that he wouldn’t have been able to do it at the level seen here. 1b. Second, Kirito’s reflexes and general experience honed in SAO are a large part of what prompted him to try the technique in GGO in the first place–the “lightsaber” is meant for melee combat, and his experience with swords predisposed him to relying on the “lightsaber” rather than guns which we see him struggling with. 1c. Alfheim Online wasn’t released until November 2023, and was more or less the second VRMMORPG. Meaning that it was only two years plus a couple months old when this scene occurred–little tricks like these that occur in games take a long time to discover and perfect, more so when it’s something so expansive and immersive. People are still finding new ways to mess around with combat in BotW, let alone TotK.

  • Listen, say what you want about SAO, but if you ask me, the GGO arc, Mother’s Rosario arc, OS, and GGO Alternative were pretty great. If not in the story, then at least in action. I’ve always enjoyed the prospect of that if you can develop the reflexes, whether you’re physically able to or not, in a game where it’s literally all in your head, you can do crap like this? That’s a badass concept to me. Some things aren’t done perfectly, but I still really like a lot of these action scenes.

  • in this article i just got an advertisement of “Mr. Clean” and in the advertisement they ALWAYS put it that you only need to spray and immediatly can wipe and its clean. but in reality on the back of that stuff is ALWAYS standing that you have to spray and let it take effect for about 5 till 15 minutes and then wipe it off. if I remember correctly, this is a type of fraud, except that no one reports the company for it because they show something in the advertising that the product is not capable of and thus take money out of the customers’ pockets

  • People thinking that Yuuki should not be surprised, she beat him after all in a tournament. The difference is, that Kirito fights in a tournament just for fun and not to win. he does not go all out if its just for fun. but if somebody attacks his loved ones and something is at stake, he pulls all stops.

  • and here i read in the Comments, only Kirito Simps that can´t accept, that Yuuki beat him twice. He wasnt holding back in their first(well the half of it) and in their last fight. Yuuki btw was holding back in their first fight. You notice that in that scene when Kirito found out her secret. Kirito said it himself he didn´t even saw it coming when she finished him of. Thats means Yuuki is way faster as him. The second fight i can only tell you read Volume 7 the timer is only an anime only thing. In the Novel she beat him again with out the time up OK so i dont want to explain anything. If you guys have a point where you can proof me that Kirito is stronger, then write it down. I promise you i will answer and tell you something different^^
