  • It is difficult to say this but although there are many talented and interesting people in Film and Music industry at present and near past there is no one who stands out or will stand out in that Unique and Singular way like Doris Day or those of her time. One or two notes and one knows who is singing. I cannot say that of any singer of the present or last generation, and I do know music and acting. Thank you for this and Thank you Doris for all the pleasure and joy.

  • I am one of the lucky ones to receive an autographed picture of her made out to me, and a beautiful letter thanking me for the gift I sent her for her 96th birthday. I wrote a story about her and I and how we went on a Sentimental Journey. That was the name of her first hit. In the story, as part of the sentence structure, I incorporated 150 of her song titles. She couldn’t imagine how long it took me to do it. I cherish both the picture and the letter, I loved her my whole life, and still do.

  • It is truly rare, in my experience, to find someone as beautiful with an unbelievable voice as well. My father was a big fan of Doris, in fact the first song I can remember hearing was it’s magic. Here we are, 68 years later, and I love her with all my heart. Love you, Doris, you will forever be the greatest!!

  • I would gladly make a reasonable donation to her animal charities to have the opportunity to hug her, and thank her for the 50 years of fantastic music she gave us all. I have loved Doris for 50+ years, and the fact that she is helping to save thousands of needy dogs and cats is an awesome bonus. Love you Doris, and always will.

  • Her voice is instantly recognized – that uniquee sound – classy – passionate – the best! She probably was one of the most unassuming actress in Hollywood. Made bad choices in husbands – but when you fall in love you don’t see with clear eyes. I am 84 and have seen all her movies and have sheet music (I play the piano) for so many of her songs. There will never be another Doris Day!!! Julye Styne and Sammy Cahn are the composers – and she brought it to life with her expressive glorious voice.

  • “It’s Magic”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Beautful Doris Day thank you You sigh, a song begins, You speak and I hear violins It’s magic The stars desert the skies And rush to nestle in your eyes It’s magic Without a golden wand Or mystic charms, Fantastic things begin When I am in your arms When we walk hand in hand The world becomes a wonderland It’s magic How else can I explain Those rainbows when there is no rain It’s magic… Why do I tell myself These things that happen are all really true When in my heart I know The magic is my love for you

  • Although originally of German origin, Doris embodied only the German artistocratic spirit combined with a lyricism that she possibly developed precisely because she lived far from her country of origin. Remarkable in everything he did, he remains a precious legend, especially for the older generations.

  • DEVASTATED! A true legend, lady and icon. Beautiful, talented and what a voice!! I was only perusal Calamity Jane last weekend. The world is a sadder place today. Thank you Ms Day for giving us such joy through your fabulous movies and incredible voice. We will miss you – I will miss you. I am so lucky to have lived through the age of the magical Doris Day. May your soul astro travel through the heavens, RIP xxx

  • Doris Day. I fell in love with her voice at the age of six or seven as a child living on Oahu. Doris was really the first woman I ever had a crush on. I’ve long had the utmost respect for her as a woman, a singer and actress, and, above all, as a truly superb example of humanity. Doris Day made our world a better place. To those of us who paid attention to her over the years, I’m sure she made each of us a better person. Thank you Doris. Mahalo & Aloha. You were and will always be one of a kind! Andy McKane, Maunaloa, Molokai, 7 August 2019.

  • Sometimes words are not enough to honour a legend of the history of music. However, feelings overflowed by such an extraordinary performance as that of Doris Day, are quite enough not only to honour but also to revive the legends who have been still honouring music and themselves. Legends are always immortal and our feelings can prove this!!!

  • You sigh, the song begins You speak and I hear violins It’s magic The stars desert the skies And rush to nestle in your eyes It’s magic Without a golden wand Or mystic charms, Fantastic things begin When I am in your arms When we walk hand in hand The world becomes a wonderland It’s magic How else can I explain Those rainbows when there is no rain It’s magic Why do I tell myself These things that happen are all really true When in my heart I know The magic is my love for you It’s magic It’s magic Why do I tell myself These things that happen are all really true When in my heart I know The magic is my love for you

  • This Lady is for me a “Leading Favorite”. Her voice is so so perfect “IT’S MAGIC” Listening here now takes me back so well to those “Days of Youth” I hear again those “Violins” she mentions Asking-Myself “Were they TRUE? I do remember losing the “Golden Wand” she sings about My Mum was furious! May you gentle “YOU TUBE” visitor-have THE MAGIC she sings about Thanks to Publisher dayniac

  • Like all gifted, unique, and special people, Doris is that one-of-a-kind person through whom is websiteed love, beauty, dignity, class, and generosity of spirit to the whole human community. That’s why, when she appeared on the world stage, we all stopped, took note, and allowed ourselves to be carried away by her transcendent talent and gifts. Thank you, Doris for sharing all of this with the rest of us. The world is a better place for your being here and that includes we “two-leggers” and your beloved “four-leggers.”

  • Just saw the Movie… Romance on the High Seas..with Doris Day…saw her singing this song I just fell in love with this sweet romantic song. I had to come here to find it and hear it again..Now it’s one of my favorite songs of the past.. Doris has the most beautiful voice I’ve ever heard. Being the romantic that I am this song sent me over the moon. I’ll be coming to YouTube often to hear it.

  • Even as a little girl, I fell in love with the powerful singing voice of Doris Day! I’m saddened to learn her time had come to say goodbye, though she was gifted the richness of living into her 90s. Such a beautiful voice, and I don’t know any singer who can do a better job on It’s Magic, than Doris. This was her song. It’s exquisite by her. Goodbye, Doris.

  • I sure have to agree with you … and to me .. they truly had talent. No computerized enhancement .. or just plain computerized singing ! True talent. And yes .. you can always tell who it is in just a couple of notes. Thank goodness we can still enjoy their music. I’m so happy you enjoyed this lovely song from Doris !!

  • Doris is just exceptional. Not only she had this superb technique and this incredibly beautiful, rich, pitch-perfect instrument, but she was also always emotionally connected to what she was saying. I mean, you just feel you’re the one shes talking to, you’re the one she loves and you just cant help and love her in return. I dont want to fall into cliches, but how can we explain those raindrops when there is no rain? Well, its Doris! 😉

  • I really like this version better than her earlier million seller. I was born in 53 – so I was a little kid in the 50’s – it was a great time to grow up ! I wish I’d been older so I was more aware of the music. I became an old movie addict at a very young age — because thats what was on tv ! Thanks — so glad you enjoyed !

  • This is not the original single which proved a gigantic #1 hit worldwide but a re-recording she did when Columbia was planning a greatest hits album. She loved working with Paul Weston and in fact her best work was her “Day by Night” album with him. There was a third recording of the song done for the soundtrack for the film it came from, “Romance on the High Seas.” Doris was known for her remarkable recording technique. She always came prepared, knew the songs and could do a perfect performance in one take. I have a lot of her Columbia outtakes and they are as a flawless as the takes which were used. She did “Secret Love” in one take, bicycling in from her home, doing the song once and being told she never could improve on what she had done because it was perfect. She got back on her bike and went home.

  • She is white & had it all. Nevertheless she was not, due to her sugary stardom in Hollywood, respected as one of the greatest American singers, on the level of the of such dames as Billie Holiday, Ella, et al. I wish you could hear me saying “Thank you Doris”. Your singing fills my heart with love 4 mankind. When I hear you I know that heaven is here. From Brazil, Romain Leal

  • I always think of Doris as that Wonderful Bubbly and Pretty songstress/actor from the the golden years of Hollywood who became American Royalty, she’s a very special Lady and loved across the globe, I always wanted to personally thank her for the many smiles she was responsible for putting on millions of faces, Thanks Doris your swell!!
