Do you have to get the crystals in order Link to the Past?

The first crystal is located east of the pyramid and is automatically marked on the map once you enter the Dark World. Once you get the first crystal, the others will be placed on your map and numbered. The item in the Crystal 1 dungeon allows access to the southern part of the Dark World, while the item in Dungeon 4 opens up more possibilities and makes traveling between the worlds easier. 7 of the 12 hearts are missing heart containers for beating Dark World dungeons, while the other 5 are made up of pieces found throughout the Worlds.

There is an easy-to-advance heart piece near where you start in the Dark World. 2 of the pieces in the Dark World are random and require beating minigames to get them. The other pieces are scattered throughout the land. Some pieces require traveling between the worlds, such as walking to a spot in the Dark World and using the mirror to go back to the Light World. Once you beat Dungeon 1 and obtain the item, most of the Dark World will be open for exploration.

Is there a red tunic in A Link to the Past?

In A Link to the Past, the Red Mail is the third best armor Link can wear, found in Ganon’s Tower in the Dark World. Wearing this tunic reduces damage by half over the Blue Mail, a quarter of normal damage, and turns Link’s cap purple. In Link’s Awakening DX, the Red Clothes double the damage of Link’s Sword attacks and send enemies flying when he hits them. They are accessible only after completing the special Color Dungeon in the Graveyard.

In A Link Between Worlds, the Red Mail is typically found in a Big Chest on the fourth floor of Lorule Castle. Wearing the Red Mail reduces damage by half over the Blue Mail’s defense. The Red Mail can be found in the Swamp Palace if Link has not yet obtained the Blue Mail.

How do you get the golden sword in A Link to the Past?

Drag it to the crack on the Pyramid of Power and blow it open. Enter the secret cave and offer the Super Bomb to the fat fairy to get the Golden Sword back. Where do I get Red Potion?

The Red Potion is a potent potion that can be found within chests in the following worlds: Drunk, Worthy, and Get Fixed Boi. How do you unlock the secret ending tunic?

To collect every page in Tunic, players must find all the Hero’s Graves after becoming a ghost. These Graves return the fox to their corporeal form and reestablish upgraded stats. Players must also complete difficult tasks like opening the Mountain Door and searching for Fairies. To unlock Tunic’s true ending, players must defeat The Heir in a final boss battle. To equip the Scavenger Mask ability card, found in the monastery in the northernmost part of the Quarry, players can enter The Heir’s arena by praying on the center fast travel platform in the main hub. The Heir can be a challenging boss fight, but a video guide by TCW Gaming on YouTube can provide tips for beating The Heir and seeing Tunic’s secret ending.

What is the point of the Red Potion?

The Red Potion is a testing item that was modified before the 1. 2. 2 update to give ordinary players debuffs instead of buffs. Consuming a Red Potion in a “For the worthy” world grants up to three of 18 buffs for 30 minutes each, with a random one chosen for each checking. How to get Moon Pearl in Zelda?

In this text, the protagonist is tasked with defeating a boss named Moldorm in a Dark World. Moldorm is an intimidating enemy with no attacks and only damage can be done by running into him. The main difficulty lies in the small, isolated platform where you can escape from him. The edges of the platform have holes where you can fall back down to the floor below.

To defeat Moldorm, use your sword to strike him at the end of his tail to damage him. He will get faster and more aggressive with his movements. Keep moving and get him in his tail when he circles around to go the other way. Moldorm is unpredictable, so this battle might take some practice. If you get knocked down to the floor below, remember that the jars in front of the stairs leading back up to him are full of hearts so you can heal yourself.

With patience and a bit of luck, Moldorm will bite the dust easily, and the final pendant will be yours. With a little bit of luck, you can keep your natural form in the Dark World.

  • Jeremy(Saikyomog) passed away 02/20/15. Everyone please see Saikyomog A Dad’s Remembrance youtu.be/JW2JXL2erLw and youtube.com/watch?v=t-seAIeu3Og&feature=youtu.be. We have kept open a Guest Book for anyone who wishes to make a comment regarding Jeremy. Eventually this will be put together in a keepsake book. legacy.com/guestbooks/greenbaypressgazette/jeremy-soncrant-condolences/174206022?&eid=sp_gbupdate

  • Hey Jeremy’s Dad, 2021 here. Just confirming – this is still the best walkthrough article on Youtube for LttP. Jeremy had mad skills and it was super cool of him to do this for the community and it’s still amazing and helpful, these years later. Appreciate Jeremy’s work and still thankful for him, and to Dad for leaving this stuff up so we can still be using it.

  • I’ll be 62 this year. A girl I dated had a son with this and it’s only one of two Zelda games I’ve played and the only one I finished. I was feeling nostalgic and chose this play through to watch. Reading the comments now has me a bit sad – although I’m glad I stumbled upon this legacy. Thank you for keeping it up as I’ve seen things here I never imagined.

  • Of course it’s risky, and I’ve had to restart many, many times in some games. Obviously what you don’t see in my articles are all my failed attempts. That’s why I practice the game I’m going to do before attempting it. Thankfully I spent my life playing most of the games you see me do anyways, so it’s not like I’m going in blind.

  • Been playing through this article game recently and this article guide has been a great help to me. Now that I am finally looking at the comments I see that unfortunately the creator of this (Jeremy) has passed away. My deepest condolences. Jeremy is helping people like me today even years after his passing. Truly incredible.

  • Wow growing up in the 90’s playing this game as a straight up Level One gamer realizing Pokémon got its exact blueprint from this game is sick. What’s even Doper is coming back to this game as an adult perusal a legend like this Run through it flawlessly knowing I didn’t have a snowballs chance in hell to ever beat this game as a child 😭😭😭

  • I had never heard of SaikyoMog before until today, but I can certainly relate to, from what I’ve read, his cause of death. My father passed away from a very nasty case of MSRA he got after a second surgery on his back for his Hodgkins Lymphoma, a cancer he had been battling since I was 8 months old to the time he passed away in 2012 at the age of 39 (I was 13). If what I’ve read is true, you’re in a better place now man. You fought the good fight. Although very sad, your death brings a good message to everyone on how important it is to catch cancer early. Colon cancer (which I’ve read was the cancer he had) has a 90% cure rate if caught early. Once again, if what I’ve read is true, we’ve truly lost a talented gamer in the gaming community. Rest easy, SaikyoMog.

  • To Jeremy’s Dad (SaikyoMog): I thoroughly enjoyed his article. It is 2023 and I saw it now for the first time. I loved playing this game growing up in my early teens, and this article walkthrough brought back some amazing memories. Please know your son’s legacy lives on and he continues to bring joy to many to this day. Thank you.

  • If I ever did commentary, it would be just the information needed. First I’d talk about controls, and then basic information on how to handle enemies, etc. If there would be a hidden path / secret item / whatever nearby, I would chime in. I’d also do boss strategies, etc. It would most likely be less talking than most articles. But as I keep telling people, I don’t have a voice for radio… 😛

  • I’m 31 and had this game as a kid but never beat it. I’m playing a port of it on the Nintendo switch now and came to this article because i was stuck and needed to see what I was missing. Went too comments to see he is no longer with us. I’m very sorry for your loss but your son is a legend who continues to help others that shared his passion.

  • Wow! To be able to play this again would be bliss for me. The nostalgia. My sister knew which scenes were playing as she heard the music and she’s younger than me! She was very young when we all played this game but I guess she remembered more than I thought she did. Sorry to learn of this gamer’s passing, but he had a lot of love for his games and a lot of patience. Just to know he shared the tricks and trades of how to “win” astounds me. He must have loved his subscribers that much. Awesome.

  • This is a trip. I came close to mastering this when I was a kid, but always came up short on heart pieces, etc. by the end. I could beat it no problem. But perusal this I’m noticing small details that I’m 98% I missed and it’s blowing my mind. I would’ve killed to have YouTube for this kinda thing back in 1995. Back then you could only buy the players guide but this is so much better. One in particular in the first half of the article that I probably missed was the 4 worms in the cavern with the two pits on both sides. Didn’t know you could just walk the edge around the pits. That’s a heart piece right there I never had. This is a fantastic walkthrough. 👍

  • 2023 Here and I just want to say how much this guy helped me 11 years ago!! I’ve had this game since I was 10 and could never fully beat the game. I found his walkthrough when I was in my twenties and was finally able to beat the game. I’m here 10 years later just so I can catch back up!! I’m so sorry for the loss just know that this article will always live in all of our hearts as the best walkthrough ever!!!!! Thanks for everything ❤❤❤❤!!!!

  • As the credits roll for my very first play through of A Link to the Past on the Gameboy Advance, I would like to dedicate my accomplishment to SaikyoMog. Your story of life & death moved me, and I felt great pride in finishing this game with your assistance. I’m glad to have stumbled upon this article, and your story. It was an honor to have enjoyed an old game together. I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!!! -Moc

  • holy shit. i am in bed with a damned headache. and i wanted to just listen to some old articlegame music. so i just listened to this walkthrouh. zelda 3 was one of my favorite games. this all brings back so many memories. and the music… remember everything like yesterday. so i lie in my bed, full of nostalgic feelings and started to think that there were so many people who played this game and that game meant alot to them. so how sad if you’re dead and you cant play this or hear this great music anymore (well i know there are many more important things in life than a articlegame…) i mean so many young kids who are grown up now. some still alive, some dead. but we were all the same. little kids who played this game… and so wtf? just then i read throuh the comments and has to read that the guy who played this is dead!?! that sucks. life is short. so enjoy it folks.

  • Despite being a Nintendo/Zelda fan for years, I’ve only started playing this game for the first time earlier last week. Needless to say, I can see why so many people are in love with this game– so much thought has been put into it! I find myself really loving the combat, dialogue, fantasy elements (get the 7 crystals >:D), exploration, and overall gameplay. What a fun game, it really reminds me of Minish Cap and Link’s Awakening (for obvious reasons)! Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it within the next few days!

  • I got quite the imagination, I just can’t express my thoughts into words for others, which is a bit of a shame..I could write a freaking series of fantasy novels if I could express my thoughts into words and so forth. A series of stories which all came to me by listening to the radio..I couldn’t just listen to the song, I had to add in visuals. Eventually I started putting songs together to create quite a few stories and so forth….Fun times…

  • I loved this Zelda game when I was a young boy . The uplifting classical music, chain-tool that helps you cross certain areas, power gloves, running boots etc and the magical fire sword . I’m from 1991 but wasn’t sure which Zelda game I played . I now remember those good childhood memories. Thanks you so much for a wonderful trip down memory lane.

  • Playing a link to the past well perusal this walk through having a great time learning all the little secrets about this game form Jeremy that I didn’t know. How it brings me back to a simpler time. 🙂 I went to the comment and read about Jeremy passing 🙁 I’m sorry to hear that… may he Rest In Peace. He may be gone but he certainly isn’t forgotten. I watched the article You made about your son and it was beautiful! very touching Jeremy was incredibly lucky to have such a loving dad. God bless you. Remembering your son here in Canada

  • I saw your article tribute to your son and it brought me to tears. I play this game because it reminds me of my mother. We use to play when I was little. My mother passed away in 2014, and this game reminds me of all the good times. Unfortunately now I am faced with my own cancer diagnosis and I decided to start playing again. I want to extend my condolences and reach my prayers out to you and your family. I thank your son for this walkthrough and helping me relive my cherished memories with my mother. Thank you sir for keeping your son’s page active. God bless you!

  • My Dad and my older sister use to be play back to 1994 back then I was 2 years old they really enjoy play Zelda But one day they stock in the Ice Dungeon they cant enter didnt grab the golden gloves unfortunatedly they never figure it out how to solve it, and 19 years later I acquire the Cassete and one saturday I invite my oldman to see the final fight against the Dark Wizard and Ganon when we beat Ganon and see the Triforce my Dad told me, my son finish that I was Started 19 years ago, that was one of the most happy and special moment in my life than I will keep in a very special place in my Heart.

  • I was actually just about to drop a comment on this article relevant to the article but then when I saw that he passed away, that really threw me for a loop.. but in his honor I will go ahead and drop the comment anyway as follows, I remember playing this game back in the 90s and every time I would enter the desert palace, I didn’t always put the magic book away right away and without fail my little sister would ask me what do I need the book for? My response would be that I’m going to read the laser eye of bedtime story. Rest in peace buddy

  • I’m playing this for the first time on Nintendo Switch (they gave it for free now) because Zelda BOTW is my favourite and I just wanted to try the old version; I’m so grateful for this walkthrough because this game is so hard!!! I wouldn’t want to play it if not for your help 🥲 I hope you’re playing the newer versions in heaven now SaikyoMog ❤️

  • Back again after 3 years to relive the memories of this game…It’s only possible because of the memories Jeremy (SaikyoMog) left for us as guidance! I have a horrible sense of direction, even though I have beat this game many times, so It’s nice to have this article to help! As always, my thoughts are with the family…

  • I never really got a chance to play this game when I was younger. I was 8 when it was released. My best friend at the time had it but I didn’t play it much. Unfortunately my dad passed away on Sunday so I’ve been at my moms house staying with her. They have a snes mini, and I decided to sit down and finish this game.

  • I have completed this game apart from I have got 19 hearts and I have got 3 pieces of heart I just need to find the last quarter piece and then everything is this game is done I just don’t know where the last blooming peice of heart is and it is really bothering me so much but what a fantasticgame this is. X

  • I have no idea how I beat this as a 10 year old, but I remember it was $99 for the console and the game at K-Mart back then, so we shoveled snow and rode our bikes to the mall but we were $3 short because of tax… The lady at the register put in 😉 I don’t know how my gang survived our escapades, but I feel Mog there guiding us these days perusal this. Cheers Our Lad.

  • There could be a ROM hack of this game. The Legend of Zelda: A Lincoln to the Past (Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy Advance) Replace the article game’s main protagonist with Lincoln Loud (a character from Nickelodeon’s The Loud House). Keep the article game’s opening scene intact but change the game’s story to include Lincoln Loud.

  • This is the only game in my life I 100% completed on my own with no guides or outside help. Internet didn’t exist yet, and I refused to get the guide because I wanted to prove I was good at it. A few years later I found the guide at my friend’s house, hidden away in a drawer. I flipped through and read every page and to my surprise, I had found every single secret the official Player’s Guide showed. Mostly I keep this to myself, as it’s one of my personal proudest accomplishments… but I wanted to watch this article to remind me of the good times with my old “friend” – and I felt like this was the perfect place to share that fact. This, for me, is the greatest article game of all time.

  • This dude is really helpful. My dad got a SNES from toysrus and we use him to guide us in the game. My brother uses him a lot for this game and other games. The unfortunate news makes me very unhappy to see how sad it is to see that happen I subbed and you guys should to and pass on the website to others.

  • I saw the link after perusal the SNES Zelda. I never played it before and needed some guidance. I enjoyed the article that Jeremy’s dad made. Very touching. I was born in 84 and got testicular cancer in 2014. It spread rather fast and I quit chemo after 2 rounds and I survived the aggressive treatment. I was very sick and believed I was close to dying. I know that sick feeling and I reflected on those days perusal this article. I just wanted to say my condolences to the family. Jeremy seemed very sweet and would have made a good friend.

  • Still the best of the classic era. The first game will forever be amazing but this just nailed it man! Something about that SNES style really helped this shine through. Windwaker is my favorite of the more modern era. Great playthrough and you earned a sub! Keep making great classic content! EDIT: i just read your rememberence post and i’m soooo sorry! Damn dude…

  • I have a CIMB and loose cart of this game. Played it for the first time in 1992 and fell in love with this game. Great fluid controls, plenty of secrets to seek out, great map lay out, cool weapons and power ups. This is a well made game with no game stopping flaws. This is on my top five best article games of all time.

  • I played this game, Final Fantasy 2 (now called Final Fantasy 4), and Super Mario World right after I first got the SNES system in the 90’s. I remember the console being $200 when it first came out. This game also has great music. I only have one question: How did Ganon return to life before the original LoZ for the NES after being destroyed in this game? Was it explained in “Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages,” “A Link Between Worlds,” or “Tri Force Heroes?” I never played those ones.

  • I came to look for a play through of this game because my cousin passed away recently and when we were kids we used to love playing this game. We never beat it but there was countless hours of fun. I miss him so much and I’m trying to beat this game for the him. Now learning that the creator of this article has passed I’m beating it for both of them. RIP @Chomis & @SaikyoMog

  • Hello, I never played to oldest zelda’s games than Ocarina, but am I wrong if I think that A link to the Past is the zelda game’s that create all the base of the saga (gameplay, visual etc…) ? I say that because, I looked articles of the 2 first zelda’s game from nes, and they doesn’t really look like zelda’s game …

  • Just received a SNES for my birthday. I absolutely love it and this Zelda is the best I’ve played so far. I beat the original Zelda for Nintendo and I’m about to beat this Zelda. I wouldn’t have come close to where I am at without this walk through. You are an amazing player! How did you not die 1 time! I’ve does countless times. I’d have to leave a dungeon to go find some faeries or the red healing potion. I can only hope to be as good as you! Thank you

  • I remember ehen this came out it was new. I got it for Christmas. One of my all time fav article games to date. Idk HOW i managed to finish the game at a young age. The puzzles now are hard to figure out. But ill never forget when i got the master sword, and got into the pyramid and defeated Ganon. No internet, no cheats none of that existed yet. Hrs and hrs of trial and error.

  • I just love this game! Link to the Past is the first appearance of what would later become a major brand of Zelda games: the existence of two parallel worlds between which the player can travel. The first, called World of Light (Light World), is the real Hyrule, where Link grew up with his uncle. The second is what was once the Sacred Realm, but it has become the Dark World, a corrupted version of Hyrule; water is an unpleasant dark color, grasses are dead, skulls have replaced rocks and vases, and trees have faces. People change shapes in the World of Darkness based on their nature; without an item to avoid (in this case, the Moon Pearl), Link turns into a pink rabbit. Each location in the World of Light corresponds to a similar location in the World of Darkness, usually with a similar physical structure, but an opposite nature (for example, a desert in the World of Light corresponds to a swamp in the World of Darkness, a quiet village in the Mundo da Luz corresponds to a city of thieves in ruins in the World of Darkness). Link can travel from the World of Darkness to the World of Light in almost any location in the outside world using the Magic Mirror, and can travel back to the World of Darkness again from the same location using a temporary portal left behind on the map, at the point where it reappears in the World of Light. Otherwise, Link must use locations with hidden portals across the World of Light to travel to the World of Darkness. Travel between worlds allows for the puzzle in A Link to the Past that explores the structural differences between the world of light and dark, how Link can travel to inaccessible areas in a world deforming from parallel, yet accessible locations in another world In my blog I give more details about this incredible Zelda: http: //wisegamer.

  • So many memories. I used to love playing this on our floor model tube tv set for hours on end when I should have been in bed for school the next day. This game introduced a lot of new tunes other than the classic theme, like Princess Zelda’s lullaby. This was the BEST Zelda game ever. Yes, better than OOT..yea I said it.

  • I remember all the annoyance Skull (Skeleton) Woods used to give me when I was younger… and Ice Island, too. That one puzzle just made me rage something fierce because of how much of a pain it was to deal with… and then I came across something that pretty much took it out of the equation: You can finish Misery Mire (Lv. 6) before you start Ice Island. The treasure there creates blocks as needed that can just stop stupid complicated switch puzzles like the one in Ice Island cold.

  • I went all the way to the Dark World, but had no clue what to do … because I was a useless pink bunny. And I am still sad to hear about Saikyo’s loss. He uploaded so many great gameplays. When I played this game, I watched this walkthrough. When I needed some help on Chrono Trigger, I watched one of Saikyo’s wonderful walkthroughs. Thank you, SaikyoMog (Jeremy). You lived a good life.

  • I used to really enjoy his articles. I stopped perusal them years ago, because I became so heartbroken he died. I’ve avoided the articles for a long time, and they finally stopped appearing in my “recommended” articles. Out of the blue, this article popped up again. I can’t believe it’s been almost four years. I sure do miss you buddy.

  • I remember when my granny gifted me and my brother A link to the past (and Mortal Kombat 1) for Xmas when this game was just out. I was 6 or 7 i think, maybe 8 i can’t remember. This game is still class to this day. Is it nostalgia that makes me think so? A little i guess but it’s mostly because this is a brilliant game that’s still very enjoyable to play today.

  • Having dyslexia as a kid is not fun because the games I played I couldn’t read the name of the game so all I have is memories of me playing them like pilotwings the intro song and sounds of the game with the look of the gameplay. For star fox its the same the intro were they fly through a tunnel with the sound of it and link to the past I Remember the first mission. I’m trying to find a game I played as a kid I remember its a platformer like Mario i think. u can sometimes get In side a rocket making u go somewhere faster but I forget the name of it. If u can comment games u think it is it will help alot :-).

  • This is an amazing walkthrough, one of the Zelda titles I had trouble with, this walkthrough helped me out tremendously. Just know he left a legacy here that people WILL, constantly comeback to for years to come I had to edit this because I just noticed the comments.. proof! Years later! Wow! I’m blown away at Gods grace and hand in this. I don’t care what anyone else believes in.. THIS IS ONLY A PORTION OF JERMEYS LEGECY.

  • Hello! I’m in my 30’s, and have recently started playing this again. I love it so much. I would play this for hours as a child, but on my big brother’s save slot! So my knowledge of how to complete the game only goes so far 😄. Thankfully, I found this awesome walkthrough. I’m so sorry to learn of Jeremy’s passing and for your loss. RIP Jeremy-thanks for the help 🙏🙂
