  • I absolutely love this movie, the music is just so amazing. The story behind this movie touches my heart. Every time I hear this song, my heart swells with pure joy and happiness. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are just so amazing and I absolutely love them both. This movie is absolutely heart touching.

  • This song is so bitter sweet. Like… that feeling of being in a relationship but knowing you’re lukewarm to their presence… Like… you’re together but not really, not from your perspective. This is the feeling right before drifting apart… ah… “I could drink a case of you and still be on my feet” shows in a perfect metaphor how little influence that person has on the other yet they’ve been part of your life for so long that you barely know yourself without them… so tragic but beautiful.

  • I remember being 13 and having a crush on Sandra Bullock, rewatching this at 15 and really realizing Nicole Kidman could sing in the couple seconds she sang to this in the car and years later after people were in shock she could sing in Moulin Rouge I would say have you not seen Practical Magic?! It was obvious she can definitely sing!

  • Jillian drives, her boyfriend, James’ car to Massachusetts to see her sister Sally who is grieving over her recently deceased husband. In the car she is listening and singing to the song, while adjusting the visor from 2:28-2:47. Love this movie, love the sisterly bonds(makes me wish I had a sister), love this touching song!

  • Just before our love got lost you said “I am as constant as a northern star” And I said, “Constantly in the darkness Where’s that at? If you want me I’ll be in the bar” On the back of a cartoon coaster In the blue TV screen light I drew a map of Canada Oh, Canada With your face sketched on it twice Oh, you’re in my blood like holy wine You taste so bitter and so sweet Oh, I could drink a case of you, darling And I would still be on my feet Oh, I would still be on my feet Oh, I am a lonely painter I live in a box of paints I’m frightened by the devil And I’m drawn to those ones that ain’t afraid I remember that time you told me You said, “Love is touching souls” Surely you touched mine ‘Cause part of you pours out of me In these lines from time to time Oh, you’re in my blood like holy wine You taste so bitter and so sweet Oh, I could drink a case of you, darling Still I’d be on my feet I would still be on my feet I met a woman She had a mouth like yours She knew your life She knew your devils and your deeds And she said, “Go to him, stay with him if you can But be prepared to bleed” Oh, but you are in my blood You’re my holy wine You’re so bitter Bitter and so sweet Oh, I could drink a case of you, darling Still I’d be on my feet I would still be on my feet

  • A great song which, as a Canadian, I have so say, has a meaning only Canadians understand…it is very hard for us to hear the lyric “on the back of a carton coaster/in the blue TV screen light/I drew a map of Canada with your face sketched on it twice” without tearing up; for us, our homeland is in our blood like holy wine – it sometimes tastes bitter but mostly tastes so sweet, and all of us could drink a case and still be on our feet. The only equivalent American lyric I can think of is also from 1971: Laura Nyro’s impassioned ‘Christmas in My Soul’ when she sings, ‘People, you must win for thee/America – for all the high court world to see…” Just feels odd for a Canuck to have ‘A Case of You’ used in a Sandra Bullock film…it would be like ‘Christmas in My Soul’ or Paul Simon’s ‘American Tune’ used in an Adam Sandler comedy…

  • Jo, of course, knew this before OUR love got lost, and crossed, and (possibly) can be excused for playing on it . . . According to friends, but not to ME …..yet, it seemed that play wasn’t confined to the one-on-one, NO! It could APParently be extended at will (or even Willy) to undisclosed, preferential sources of a superior satisfaction quotient ….I don’t know, who’d have guessed, eh? …

  • I have a funny story about how I tortured my youngest daughter with this song on our way to her court appointments, she likes rap. “Not again” she would whine as we started down the road to Lockhart. Her case dragged on for a year and thanks to a little magick the case was dismissed and my daughter was happily singing along.

  • Did I say I have a problem? No. In books and films it always says a man is a warlock.. Not meaning to be rude but I’ve never heard of a male witch.. You may not be interested, I don’t really care.. You’ve shown you were interested by replying; no need to get pissed because someone may have proved you wrong..

  • I love this song i feel this in my heart, But sadly he didn’t. he begond for me to tell him i was in love with! I did he looked beond me from that day on. And everyone says u should open up!!! yea rite… I feel stupid till this day.. But i do have a husbend for 33yrs. but am still afreaid to say or open up that am in love with him for he just might just leave me too!
