Do tarot cards predict the future?
Tarot can help make big decisions, but it cannot predict the future. Michelle Tea suggests beginners start with a three-card reading from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. Growing up, her family often relied on tarot for tough decisions, such as discussing a brother’s breakup or deciding whether to drop out of school. The deck’s iconic Rider-Waite-Smith cards can be used to guide readers through these situations.
Is it safe to read tarot cards?
Tarot cards, like other metaphysical tools, are as safe or dangerous as the messages they deliver. They provide clues into the subconscious and are not harmful themselves. The Tarot is often linked to witchcraft, as many practicing witches use it. However, not all witches use the Tarot. The Tarot is a divination tool used by witches to derive more symbolism and understanding for specific questions. Witchcraft and Tarot can co-exist separately, and reading Tarot does not necessarily mean practicing witchcraft. Both practices involve active engagement with intuition.
Is tarot reading worth it?
Tarot readings can be an empowering experience, even for those who may be skeptical about the cards holding the key to their future. A professional tarot reader can help you understand yourself and clarify your goals for your future. There are multiple benefits to a tarot reading, including insight into your situation, determining the best actions for your love life, career, or other questions, understanding others’ motivations, and reading potential outcomes of decisions.
A good tarot reading can also help heal anxiety. To maximize the benefits of a tarot reading, it is essential to prepare yourself with an open mind, avoid pre-judgments, and be willing to be surprised by what you discover. The cards may not always say what you want, but they can provide a different outlook that may expand your perception of your life.
What is the luckiest card in the tarot?
The Wheel of Fortune card, part of the Major Arcana, is a symbol of destiny, fortune, success, elevation, luck, and felicity. It is often depicted in a six- or eight-spoked wheel, often attended by an individual dressed in an Egyptian-style headdress. In some decks, such as the AG Müller, the wheel is also attended by an individual wearing a blindfold. The wheel is not always inscribed with any lettering, but the letters T-A-R-O (clockwise) or T-O-R-A (counter clockwise) can be found aligned against four of the spokes, which can also be interpreted as R-O-T-A, the Latin word meaning “wheel”.
In some decks, such as the Waite, the wheel is inscribed with additional alchemical symbols representing the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. These emblems can also be seen on the Magician’s table in the Magician card (Card I).
Who picks the cards in tarot?
The individual who is the subject of the reading is seated beside the reader, thus enabling both parties to observe the cards that are drawn. The decision as to which cards are picked is at the discretion of the individual who is the subject of the reading. In-person readings permit the querent to select the cards they desire.
Why don’t tarot cards work?
The interpretation of a tarot card depends on the questions asked, card combinations used, and spreads used. Standard card meanings may not be suitable for a specific context. It’s important to ask “How can I interpret this card in this specific reading?” instead of “What does this card mean?” This approach is not taught in courses like my Tarot Foundations program, which covers all 78 tarot cards.
Is it OK to pull tarot cards for yourself?
Tarot readings can be done by beginners, providing insight into current situations, honoring intuition, and forecasting potential outcomes. To begin, clean the energy of your space by burning herbs, ringing bells or chimes, taking a bath, or using crystals. A Selenite wand is a popular energy refresher that aids clarity.
Sit comfortably and close your eyes, focusing on the protective energy surrounding you. Take deep breaths, think about your question or needing guidance, and keep your mind and heart open to the answers that may come through the cards. Shuffle the deck, focusing on your desired query, and shuffle the cards in front of you. The pattern laid out is called a “spread”, and the meaning of each card in combinations builds up to the overall answer to your query.
Before beginning to shuffle, know which spread you will be working with. As answers come through, it’s important to draw additional cards for further clarity or start with a new question from a different perspective. Tarot readings can be a powerful tool for personal growth and understanding.
Is tarot card reading true?
Early French occultists claimed that tarot cards had esoteric links to ancient Egypt, the Kabbalah, Indic Tantra, or the I Ching. However, scholarly research reveals that tarot cards were invented in Italy in the early 15th century for playing games, and there is no evidence of significant use of them for divination until the late 18th century. The belief in the divinatory meaning of the cards is closely associated with a belief in their occult properties, which was propagated by prominent Protestant Christian clerics and Freemasons.
From its uptake as an instrument of divination in 18th-century France, the tarot went on to be used in hermeneutic, magical, mystical, semiotic, and psychological practices. It was used by Romani people when telling fortunes and as a Jungian psychological apparatus for tapping into “absolute knowledge in the unconscious”, a tool for archetypal analysis, and even a tool for facilitating the Jungian process of individuation.
Should you pull a tarot card daily?
One method of establishing a practice of tarot is to pull a card each morning and record one’s thoughts and reflections on it in a journal. Additionally, touching the cards may prove advantageous. Nevertheless, a more elaborate configuration, such as an Instagram tarot spread, may offer a more visually appealing alternative. A well-executed morning tarot spread is an excellent way to commence the day with a tarot reading, instilling a sense of excitement and anticipation.
Is there a right and wrong way to read tarot cards?
Reading the Tarot can be a complex process, but certain spreads are effective for self-reading. A three-card spread is usually sufficient for complex issues, and larger layouts may be necessary once a problem is isolated. It is important to keep layouts simple for beginners to improve accuracy and build a more digestible experience with the cards.
Some people may get cards they don’t understand or dislike, leading to confusion and frustration. This can be a downfall when reading for oneself, as it can become a frustrating compulsion that leads to self-doubt. To avoid this, it is recommended to start with a three-card spread and work on larger themes once a problem is isolated. Ultimately, the choice of spread depends on the individual’s needs and preferences.
Do tarot cards tell you what to do?
The tarot is a magical tool that is not about fortune-telling but about storytelling. Its practice is entirely secular, with no psychic elements or specific guidance. Instead, the tarot’s narrative power invites questions and self-reflection, empowering individuals to make decisions about their future. The interplay between different cards can offer new perspectives, challenge old thinking, or even force individuals to acknowledge hidden aspects. While the cards are helpful in making decisions and thinking about the path ahead, they don’t always provide the answers popular culture has led us to expect.
The tarot is made up of two sections called the Arcanas, which are the Major Arcana (22 cards) and the Minor Arcana (56 cards). The cards work together to offer new perspectives, challenge old ways of thinking, and help individuals make informed decisions about their future.

I love you! I do tarot but I’m also a skeptic lol. It’ll never work if it isn’t in person unless it’s someone you have a strong connection with. I’ve been able to do a reading over the phone but it took a lot of focus for both of us and we’ve known each other for over a decade so we knew how to connect and find each other’s energies. I am pretty skeptical of professional psychics in general but I think there are some psychics in little shops around the world who are legit. You just never know if you are going to get scammed or not. Best bet is doing a reading with a friend who does tarot or if you have a friend who doesn’t do tarot but says they have good intuition, follow their intuition on which psychic in town to see. Watch out for psychics tryna cold read you. But if you notice a psychic isn’t tryna do a cold reading but just pointing out some things to consider, they might not be scamming you. Not every legit psychic is trying to amaze you with how accurately they can guess a death or divorce in your life, a good psychic really wants to point out things you might have been ignoring or give confirmation of things you already know so that you can have courage to take action. That’s my view at least. My opinion is that whether it’s real or not, the connections your brain subconsciously makes can be what really matters. A lot of people come to psychics asking “what should I do?” about a situation in life and the truth is that deep down they know the answer, they just need some confirmation.
Okay but I kinda have a problem with the “you have depression but it’s meant to be”. This is my biggest problem with this destiny/fate stuff. No, my depression was not effing meant to be, what the heck!? I don’t wanna nitpick but it’s such a petpeeve. Yes, my depression is part of the reason why I’m the person I am but without it I would then just also be me but differently developed and I would be also a functioning adult instead if this whiny little piece of garbage disguising as a person, ya know? If it helps someone to tell themselves their hurt was meant to happen, fine, it just sounds like these people that are like “well, if van Gogh wouldn’t have been suic*dal, we wouldn’t have the art we have today”, bish yeah, but he would have been not suic*dal in his lifetime, what the actual diddly darn f*ck. The audacity.
so i do tarot as a witch and these sorts of pile readings do seem incredibly generalized, i dont love them. if you want to do an actual reading i disagree with some of the witches in the comments saying it needs to be irl, as long is the reading is for you the reader will use their intuition. also thx for being respectful!
Same as you I’m not spiritual or anything but I don’t mind if other people are. (For the q&a) In your perfect society what would the legal system look like, what would the law enforcement look like, what would the government look like in general ig? Also don’t want my name in the article but you can read my question.
So I’m writing this specifically for the Q&A but it is also is a thing I just wanted you to see generally I really want to thank you, for being there and being this vocal. I’m probably on the Autism Spectrum (not officially diagnosed yet, but I extensively researched it and it fits) I’m Non-Binary and also Pan-sexual. I’m also an Anarchist, and with all his combined, perusal any You Tubers is always a fucking Minefield. Until they make certain what their stance on political issues is I’m always tense and kinda fearful if this Person I deemed cool and interesting reveals that they think I shouldn’t be allowed to live. But you’re basically everything I could wish for in a You Tuber! And it’s really important and good how vocal you are about your opinions! And I really love your explanatory articles but I like it even more whenever you make it clear that you don’t take shit form anybody. It’s just very refreshing when not every sentence is mushed, pureed and lightly warmed so Liberals/Centrist/Right Leaning Babies can easily digest arguments which all boil basically down to “other people deserve rights too”. It’s just so freeing to be finally able to fully express annoyance about all those Groups. It feels like finally being able to breath. Sorry for the rambliness, just thought you might appreciate this.
For the QnA… What is the strangest thing you have saved on your phone(if you have one)? How much sleep do you normally need to function properly for the day? Here’s a dumb question, are dead meme’s still good memes? Is it weird, that in a way, I look up to you? You will not see this, but have a great day bro✌
I think with the way i do tarot at least like,, its not supposed to be very specific. Tarot cards are not like psychics. They don’t tell the future, they don’t communicate with the dead, they aren’t supposed to do those things. They’re meant to tap into the subconscious and bring to light things that you already held true in youself but maybe didnt really have the insight to consciously know. It’s not about prediction imo its about like,,, guidance almost. (also online and over the phone tarot readings are,, weird. I dont think they’re accurate especially pre-filmed ones like this…)
From what I understand, a big thing with tarot card readings is that the person doing the readings will try to gauge from your reaction what resonates and what doesn’t. I’ve personally never done a reading for the sake of “how accurate it is,” for me, it’s just a good way to take a step back and look at a situation from a different lens
Youtube Tarot Readings kind of have to be general because a lot of people would be perusal the article so it had to be more general than specific. Also, I love how respectful you are omg. Even though I’ve been subscribed to you, I was still scared that you were gonna be like: Witchcraft isn’t real, I’m gonna shit on this person for being in a religion/practice that I don’t agree with. Thank you!
Just so you know, this is not me hating. I actually enjoyed the article a lot and I’m super happy he was respectful about it. If I come off as rude I’m sorry. Nick, when you do a pick-a-card, you’re supposed to let your intuition tell you which one to pick It’s a general reading so she’s reading for a lot of people. You have to pick out the stuff that resonates with you. If almost nothing resonates with you, it’s for other people and you should pick another deck. In-person or just you and the psychic online is definitely more accurate because it’s you and the other person. Not you and thousands of other people.
Q&A question: What are your thoughts of Yoongi’s most recent album? Also, are you still supporting BTS or did you end up deciding not to. Last I heard you were very conflicted about it. Finally, I trust your judgement so which Kpop groups are you currently a fan of? If you do put this question in the article I’d prefer to be anonymous, thank you😊
Should I trust tarot reading? Because all tarot readers are like: He’s thinking about you. Ur twin flames. And they tend to somehow make u believe that you should go after married men/women 😂 Dude WTF they always tell they are missing you, thinking about you. Okay! Where? Like where? My WhatsApp is literally fucking empty I don’t even have one text from someone who I could consider as a crush. Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 What’s up with these tarot readers! Getting humankind mad seriously
Thank you so much for being so respectful to witchcraft and tarot, it’s refreshing to see someone who isn’t into that stuff but giving it the benefit of the doubt and not saying that we’re insane and/or delusional like some on this platform. At the end of the day, unless it hurts someone or yourself physically, emotionally, or financially (which is sometimes the case with witchcraft and tarot but we don’t talk about those people), it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re happy with what you’re doing. And others shouldn’t shame you for it!
They use you tube frequently because so many young people are making a living this way. The more she talks, the more something will stick. People who seek tarot readers are insecure. She plays your ego by mentioning traits that are commendable. People like to believe they are leaders. People like to think of themselves as role models. People like to believe they are above the rest. Divorce is common. If you don’t get back up your dead. It is as simple as that. All readers have the disclaimer they are not responsible.
Losing my mom I can tell you losing someone that close sucks. I do think of her often even when I hardly have much memory of her. Just the life we could’ve had together. Coming out as a Trans man finding out she would’ve been super supportive more so then my father. Just seeing her be able to grow older. But anyways the vid she kinda knows nothing lol but if it’s her religion. 🤷.
I’ve been doing Tarot for awhile and for me it’s been very accurate, even these online ones have been accurate. Although the reader you chose I haven’t found as accurate but also it changes for each person so idk. Tarot is kinda like more for people who need help or answers, and in that case it tends to help, for me atleast. So if it’s very accurate for someone and they’ve been going through a hard time, asking the cards can help give them answers. That was long but I think i said it all? Anyway yeah sucks that reading wasn’t as accurate for you.
Thank you for being respectful, I’m a tarot reader as well, and I am very specific with tarot readers on YouTube. If it’s too up in the air, it’s not my cup of tea. Star is one of the readers I’m still perusal, but I agree with you, she tends to be a little too woo woo so to say. A lot of her followers like it, but I miss the reality check a bit. Gem Goddess is more specific with reading energies. ☺️
Online youtube readings can be very general. Some things will resonate, while others may not. The reason is because there are so many people who watch these readings that the cards wiml pick up a lot of different things about a lot of different people. Sometimes you can come across a reading that is so accurate though that you’ll swear it was done specifically for you only. Most readers will say to their audience to take what resonates and what doesn’t resonate leave it. These readings are usually done for entertainment purposes only, not for accuracy. To get full accuracy get a reading in person. But in all honesty seek GOD and he’ll show you signs as answers and speak to your heart.
This was doomed to not work but its NOT cuz you weren’t in the same room. You skipped the most important part: choosing the correct article and the correct pile. Of course, it didn’t resonate. In personal readings, the entire job is the tarot reader’s but in general readings like this, YOU need to be intuitively connected cuz the main job of choice is yours. Sometimes people are drawn to a card or a crystal right away and sometimes you need to meditate to know. And it’s also your job to know which message is for you among all. It might not make sense to a critical mind but that’s how its worked for me. Also, there’s no hate here I just thought I should tell you what I know cuz you seemed genuinely intrigued.
Heya, I know this doesn’t have anything to do with the article but I noticed that in your bio there’s a link to a charity for children in Yemen and I just wanted to say that there’s also an app called free rice. This app was created by WFP (world food programme). In the app you can awnser questions and trough ads they earn money wich they use to send rice to Yemen. I think its really usefull for those who can’t donate money (like me).
This article makes me want to do you a tarot reading, caz like, what they do is give you advice and guidance, they ain’t telling you shit but like, what can you do to solve a problem(at least in my eyes) the cards are your friends and guide and I hope that maybe one day someone you know will give you a one on one reading
has anything really bad affected you lately? has something really good happen or is there something in between. I really care if you are alright or not, and I would I’m okay with being in the article(my mind thought of other ways to say that but they all sounded stupid) edit: here’s another question, for the mv teasers why does it say Mercury, Pluto or Venus. is it some sort of personas or something
me @ tarot and witchy stuff: I just think they’re neat 🙂 I don’t really believe anything, but I’m friends with witches and I think it’s a lot of fun, so I love exploring it anyway. I don’t think a single correct thing has ever been said about me by these though, it’s almost impressive how backwards everything is like, example, I’m an aroace scorpio
The way I understand tarot to actually work is as a means of self reflection–if you use them to do your own reading, to ask questions about yourself and dig for things in your mind that you might not realize are important to reflect on, to ask if something may or may not be worth putting more thought into. As for the future, what it would really do in that regard is bring to your attention something probable based on what you know. This is my understanding of it, and I respect that other people will come to different conclusions.
I have a question: What are your thoughts on the philosophical question, ” There’s a train heading for a group of children playing on the train tracks but next to you there is a lever if you pull the lever than the train will defer on a single boy playing, on an opposite set of abandened train tracks. The single boy new that the train track he was playing on was abandened. Do you keep the train in its path or do you pull the lever?” What are your thoughts of this question and what would you choose? Why?
for the Q & A: if you had to permanently move off-continent, where would you go and why? what’s a skill you want to have but are intimidated to try? do you have a favorite myth, ie. eros and psyche, fionn mac cumhaill, etc idk you can pick whatever question(s) you like here and throw out any you don’t think are interesting, have fun with the article!
😅😅😅😅 why does it have to be a womens interest? Lol. You’re good dude. Im the same way where I dont really 100% believe in, anything. But becasue of that I am open to the idea of everything. I’m very sceptical about all of this. But I also had things be way to real. I think these articles are usually vague enough to cover most people. Either way it can help guide people to be their best selves. Also, you look so hurt. Sending live darling. Be sure of your wondeful self. You five yourself too little credit.
