Is it okay to use non-Apple chargers?

Apple recommends iPhone owners use Apple chargers or other brands that meet safety regulations, as some USB-C cables and plugins may have fewer protections for their phones than Apple’s official Lightning cables. High-quality chargers, which are essentially electronics with tiny circuit boards inside them, have two chips: one authenticating the cable’s manufacturer and the other acting as a fuse that isolates damage to the charger. Using a charger that doesn’t meet standards could put iPhones at risk, according to Jessa Jones, owner of iPad Rehab.

Why doesn’t Samsung give chargers?

Samsung has removed earphones and charger plugs from its Galaxy smartphones to minimize environmental impact. The move is part of a growing trend among Galaxy users to promote sustainable recycling habits. The removal of these items from the in-box packaging aims to address the growing e-waste problem and unnecessary duplication of items. Existing users are encouraged to continue using their current earphones and charging plug, while new users will need to purchase them separately. Samsung chargers are now available at lower prices, and more information about purchasing earphones can be found on the Samsung Store.

Do you get chargers with phones?

Samsung does not provide a charger plug in box for their smartphones to reduce e-waste. However, users can use their existing charger plug with the included USB Type-C data cable or add one to their order. The company offers various promotions, including All Offers, YouMake Hot, Mobile Offers, Television Offers, Laptop and Computing Offers, Home Appliances Offers, Galaxy Gifts, Business Offers, Student and Youth Offers, Key Worker and Teacher Offers, Samsung Live, Pay with Samsung Finance, Price Promise, Phone Contracts, Klarna, PayPal, Mobile Trade In, TV and Appliance Trade-Up, Upgrade Members, Samsung Care+, Samsung Rewards, and AI for All.

Is it OK to charge phone with any charger?

A higher voltage charger can damage your phone, as it can significantly damage it if it operates on a standard voltage of 5 volts. It is recommended to use a charger that provides the correct voltage for your smartphone, as indicated on the charger body. Using a higher-wattage charger is safe, but voltage compatibility is crucial for phone health. Use a charger that supports your device’s voltage to avoid stress and ensure a stress-free charging experience.

Why do phones no longer come with chargers?

Samsung is aiming to reduce e-waste by removing charger plugs and earphones from in-box device packaging. The company prioritizes compatibility between product components to eliminate unnecessary waste. The latest Galaxy S21 series models do not come with earphones or a charger plug by default, but can be purchased separately if needed. Are cheap chargers worth it?

Chargers and batteries should be prioritized, even if you shop around for quality items. Many cheap knock-off chargers found on eBay and Amazon are sub-par. Saving $20 on a generic charger can potentially kill a laptop or cell phone, as most people feel the $10 or $20 saved isn’t worth the cost. It’s also not worth investing in a high-quality smartphone charger to risk destroying it. Furthermore, the risk of the charger or battery catching fire is also increased. Therefore, it’s crucial to choose quality products over cheap knock-off chargers.

Do phone chargers ever go bad?

  • I love how much smaller and lightweight this is than my older power banks youtube.com/post/UgkxU45wIUiiQjrUWgrFNORkYxVlmCsYWENJ and yet it charges even more. Bought one a couple months ago and loved it so much I purchased a second one and gave it to my granddaughter as a gift. We’re avid campers so power banks are an absolute must have. I also like to keep these charged for when the power at home goes out which has happened a couple times this year. They are so convenient and easy to use. You can charge multiple devices at the same time. The compass is a nice added bonus. I appreciate how quickly this arrived. I am curious to see how long these take to charge in the sun.

  • Thank you! I purchased one of these around a year ago and couldn’t remember how to use the flashlight. I’m trying to keep my emergency devices charged up now. With the way things are going with so much talk about WWIII, I feel a stronger urge to be prepared. Hopefully, the day will never come, but there’s no point in having emergency prep items with dead batteries.

  • These are not as handy as you think. Charged my little solar charger – FULLY (via the USB port, not the sun but I keep it on my dashboard in the car so it stays charged and I do watch the heat and all like the instructions tell you and believe me, I’m a design engineer so I am very aware of all the details) – and I have to keep unplugging and replugging devices to it to get it to stay on and charge. Have a set of headphones I left on it over night and they were not charged at all. I’m looking for info is how I stumbled across this article. Be aware these do not work like you might think they do.

  • I bought one of these from eBay but a 90,000 mah 1.5watt solar panel. Sure is slow on changing . And yes main power is recommended up to 200hrs full charge it’s a trickle battery. LED will turn green when fully charged. No battery memory but is recommended Evey 3 months full recharge. Not recommended for heavy duty use just a back up at night. Please do your research before buying one. Your life could depend on it. Happy camping trip and stay safe

  • i I received one of these and a blind delivery without instruction manual—are now my computer big memory outboard. You can guess the functions and they on off switch has opposite the ring and hook side– and put it in direct sunlight charged up all LED’s but note the leftmost LED is just a green light and the charge indicators are illuminated blue. They supplied short charging cable has an odd up and down style plug on the it. However this item came to me, i don’t know, but it has no marking, not even on the box, to identify the manufacturer other than “in China.”

  • I got a brand new upgraded version I just got today off of Amazon I turned off my phone and plugged it in and it not charging do I have to plug these power bank into the wall for a while honestly don’t know how I really use it and the manual is way too small I’m visually impaired his wife I can’t read it even with glasses on

  • The green model of this solar power bank requires a double tap to turn the lights on or off. At 20,000 mAh or 20 Amp Hours it can charge the power hungry phones (new smart phones) around two to three times before being depleted. With such a small solar charge it will take at least two days to recharge with good sunlight. So basicly a backup charge for the phone and a flashlight.

  • question. I purchased one a couple years ago for emergency purposes. It was kept in a backpack in a cool closet and has not been used to date. However, the other day I was looking through my backpack and found that the battery in this solar power bank had swollen and has forced the power bank to open and it will no longer shut. Do you know why this would be? Do you know where I could purchase a new battery? I have emailed the seller twice through Amazon, where I purchased and have no idea if they are still in business, as I can not get them to replay. Reaching out to you to seen if you have any advice. Thank you.
