MagicBands are a popular attraction at Walt Disney World, offering a unique way to access and use the park’s attractions. They can be reactivated or deactivated depending on the status of the band. If the band is currently active, it can be activated by selecting the “Activate” button. If it is still active from your last trip, you can leave it as is.
MagicBands can be reassigned to a different ticket or pass if you want to change your entry method or transfer your band to a different guest. You can manage all of your MagicBands and Key to the World Cards in the My app. Multiple MagicBands or cards can be assigned to a single Guest, so activating a new MagicBand or card does not mean that you must deactivate an existing MagicBand+.
However, as of August 16, 2021, complimentary MagicBands are no longer offered to Annual Passholders. If you don’t feel like paying for a new band, you can reactivate them. Once a MagicBand is assigned to a Guest, it is theirs only and cannot be reassigned to another Guest. Guests can access their MagicBands by clicking the “Activate” button and reporting lost.
MagicBands cannot be reassigned to anyone else, even if they’ve been deactivated. To have magic bands reassigned, call customer service at 939-4357 or visit a cast member at guest services. If the MagicBand is found, reactivate it using the same button on the My Disney Experience App.
Guests typically deactivate their MagicBands once they’re on their way home and only reactivate those they will be taking with them before their trip. Even if the band deactivates, it’s easy to reactivate it in your MDE account.
