The statement that DoTs cannot crit is misleading, as 3.0 introduced the “Damage Multiplier for Ailments from Critical Strikes”, which boosts the damage of Ignite, Poison, and Bleed caused by critical strikes. In general, only hits can crit, and DoTs don’t hit. Chaos spells can even crit, but they require a lot of resources to trigger spells consistently. The main point of CoC is to crit as many times per second as possible, and the spell doesn’t matter except when it can benefit from the same supports as the attack.
A critical strike is a type of hit that multiplies its damage by its critical strike multiplier. Critical strikes inherently gain 100 chances to ignite, freeze, and deal increased damage. Crit effects direct damage with hits the same between elemental, physical, and chaos attacks. Elemental ailments (not poison or bleed) always happen on these attacks.
A critical strike is a skill or default attack dealing increased damage and possibly inflicting elemental ailments. It is one of the five damage types and is the rarest and hardest to get resistance against. Chaos damage bypasses the energy shield, and generic crit applies to everything, spells, and weapons. If it specifies spells, it only works for spells.
It is important to avoid spreading misinformation about light spell power boosts not affecting alignment. As a Low Life build, Shavrone’s Wrappings and a Prism Guardian are used to reserve 3-50 auras (Hatred, etc.).

How does chaos bolt scale with crit?
The tooltip states that having 25 critical strikes multiplies your Chaos Bolt damage by 1. 25. However, it’s not wise to stack crit to the exclusion of all other stats, as it is one of many factors that affects Chaos Bolt damage. The tooltip also provides a formula for calculating damage multiplier, which is based on the total damage multiplier of your critical strike. It’s important to note that this formula is not a general guideline and should be used with caution.
Do spells get critical damage?
In DND 5e, spells that require an attack roll, such as the Firebolt cantrip, can critically hit. However, spells relying on a saving throw, like Sacred Flame, cannot crit. To guarantee a critical hit, exploit conditions like Paralysed and Unconscious, which automatically make attacks into critical hits. Gaining an advantage on attack rolls can also increase the chance of getting a critical hit, such as flanking, using the Greater Invisibility spell, or using class-specific abilities like Reckless Attack.
How do crits work in Poe?
Critical strikes are rolled per-action, not per-target, and are dealt to all targets hit by a skill. The critical strike chance and damage multiplier are calculated separately for each spell and weapon attack. All weapons have a base critical strike chance, which affects attacks using that weapon. Damage-dealing spells have their own base critical strike chance, independent of the weapon used to cast the spell.
The chance to deal a critical strike is taken from the weapon used to perform an attack or attack skill, based on the weapon’s base critical strike plus any local critical strike mods. Each spell has its own critical strike chance, which can be increased by various modifiers.

The specimen was discovered in the Demon Ruins of Smouldering Lake, where it was found in the possession of a crystal lizard. Another specimen was located in the Grand Archives.

Is chaos an elemental resistance Poe?
It should be noted that chaos damage is not elemental. Therefore, the application of the “+ to all Elemental Resistances” modification does not affect it. However, the “+ to all maximum Resistances” modification does have an impact. The resistance to chaos can be modified by the use of items and passive skills. Furthermore, the Keystone skill, Chaos Inoculation, confers total immunity to chaos damage. It is also significant to consider the damage ratio between a character with a resistance of -60 and one with a resistance of 75.

I should add this to spread some info about “Useless tech”. This info is getting from poe wiki site under section of “Sublime Vision”: Aura Skills other than are Disabled: Aura Skills (including Banners), including those granted by Blessings or Curse Auras, are disabled. **Some Mine skills; Smite, Summon Skitterbots, Flesh and Stone, and Rejuvenation Totem are also disabled due to also having Aura gem tag; Skills supported by **High-Impact Mine Support will work, as only the support gem has the aura gem tag, not the skill gem. Other non-Aura reservation skills (including Heralds, Aspects, Blood and Sand, Petrified Blood, Tempest Shield, Arctic Armour, and Temporal Rift, etc) will function normally. Vaal counterparts of will also still function as expected. I should add that Petrified blood to get good use of Pain attunement – is un understatement. Heralds and Aspects can give you some really good damage and Tempest shield or Arctic Armour Defences. Overall not that useless, many forgot about this tech and its a shame (As “budget” option at least).
