Can Ghan Transcend The Mysterious Realm?

Gohan’s Mystic Power-Up transforms his ki into that of a Kai, allowing him to reach 100 of his potential and grow stronger as he grows. When Gohan first learns the Mystic form, he is about the level of Super Saiyan 2/3. The Ultimate form releases a portion of their hidden potential based on their base form’s strength.

Despite his massive strength, Gohan no longer goes Super Saiyan, as his Ultimate form blows away his previous power levels. In the latest arc, Gohan confirms that not going Super Saiyan is actually a choice, embracing the human side of his heritage. His strength post is essentially the same as in the Buu storyline.

Mystic Gohan, also known as Ultimate Gohan, has the Saiyan warrior’s facial features and hair transform slightly, similar to transformations as a Super Saiyan. However, Gohan cannot go beyond the Mystic form because that’s his absolute limit. He can still get much stronger than what he showed in the Buu storyline.

In the original manga, it was essentially a huge buff to Gohan’s base form and makes transforming into Super Saiyan entirely useless. However, Gohan transcended Super Saiyan forms, so he cannot be considered the ultimate Saiyan. Instead, he unlocked a form that surpasses Gotenks without transforming.

Ultimate Gohan is the culmination of Super Saiyan 2 for Gohan, and is essentially the state without placing limitations on Gohan’s body. The Mystic power-up brought out Gohan’s hidden natural power but also gave him an unnatural boost that made him stronger than that.
