Mine really bother me at night time especially when I’m laying down. Trying to fall asleep. That is the worst. So the blanket comes off the blanket goes back on. Thank you for this article. I started getting them in my early 30’s. I’ll be 60 in a couple of days. When I was still having my extremely heavy periods hot flashes were not present, so I was just dealing with unbelievable amounts of blood loss. So I kinda looked forward to that even though it could last 10-14 days. At one point I can remember sitting at the kitchen table and my hubby walked down the hall and I was seeing double. He took me to the hospital where I was given iron and then followed up with a prescription of iron. I get them 24 hours a day 7 days a week and last up to 6 minutes. Yeah, I timed it a few times to help me get through them, lol. Knowing it will end. The pain is what also gets me!!! sooooo painful!!! And then how cold I feel afterwards. Now that I think about it…. cause I don’t want to think about, lol. I remember a client talking about soya milk and within two days they went away!!! omg… how did I forget that, lol!!! When I was 16 I had this happen to me right after I left a psychiatric hospital. Out of all the sports I played while having this cyst, simply standing up after getting off the couch while eating a jenny craig cinnamon roll for breakfast is what triggered the torsion. I don’t know why but I was vomiting for a few hours before I went to the ER. My cyst had 8 or 9 pounds of fluid and the doctors compared my cyst to AN INFANT before my surgery!!!! Also don’t underestimate the pain of a torsion! How did you find the cyst prior to surgery? Xray, MRI, ultrasound, CT? Until recently I have not been able to convince a Dr to do imaging to find the source of my chronic pelvic/low back pain. Hi, after experiencing UTI like symptoms of frequent urination with no Bacteria I got a CT scan which revealed the following: Of significance, within the left adnexa, there is an indeterminate mildly complex, 5.2 cm x 3.9 cm x 5.3 cm cystic abnormality identified (image 133 of series 3) ( It demonstrates elevated Hounsfield units of 30.) It is causing some mass effect on the bladder and it also extends to the left wall of the uterus. Is this verbiage for possible cancer or is this common? Also the fact that it’s pressing on my bladder means it has to be removed right?

I have a question! I have suffered since starting my menses with big ovarian cysts. PMH of stage I cervical cancer which I remain in remission for 🎉. This month I went to my OB/GYN c/o intense pain. The worst I have ever had. It was noted that my left ovary held a simple appearing 5.6 cm cyst. The next day I go to the ER with bilateral lower abdominal pain. The left cyst grew to 6.7 cm and then a 4.6 cm popped up out of nowhere on my right ovary! I finally have the OR date to remove these cysts (which I expect to have grown larger due to the increased amount of pain, pressure, and increase in urinary urgency). My OB doesn’t seem so worried. However, I have NEVER had cysts appear suddenly to be large, growing, and with so much pain that have required 3 months of pain management. I am going to request my OB to send the fluid in for cytology/pathology as I’m afraid there is more to the story. I do not have PCOS or any other gynecological conditions. Should I be worried?
