Christmas Day At Magic Kingdom: How Busy Is It?

The Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World is the busiest of all four Disney parks on Christmas Day, with over 60+ minute waits for popular rides. However, the implementation of theme park reservations and entry restrictions has eliminated many of the nightmare scenarios, such as 3-5 hour waits on Christmas Day or other holidays. In November, the start of the holiday season at Disney World is marked by two holiday parties, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights.

Disney World uses dynamic pricing during Christmas, making it more expensive than other Disney parks. However, visitors should be prepared for a busy and exciting time in the park. The Starbucks line was not too bad, but the crowds were intense.

During Christmas week, the crowds start to grow enormously around 10 am and by noon, especially in the “pinch points” where the park is most crowded. While most readers agreed that the atmosphere was worth the experience, the following week was busier than early December, averaging a 40-minute wait and 5/10 crowd level. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are less busy days in December, but all parks are already sold out on Christmas Day and more may be unavailable.

In summary, the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World is the busiest of all four Disney parks on Christmas Day, with a high demand for rides, decorations, and entertainment.

  • After all the entertainment cuts the past 3 years, it’s great to see Guitar Dan is still around! We first saw him at a D23 Magic & Merriment event back in 2012 – it was particularly memorable because he created a song on the fly just for me! 🥰 That’s what he’s known for. I’d love to see him do one for you sometime!!

  • Winnie the Pooh is a Woo fan confirmed! haha. Oh man, I’d rather sprawl myself out on Main Street and make rain angels on the sidewalk before I wait 125 minutes for a friggin ride, but perusal those classic toy soldiers and dancing reindeer doing their parade thang on actual Christmas Day is totally worth it, lol 👍

  • Adam, Genie+ is turning out to be money for old rope. Lets get everyone to pay once and as a special treat lets get everyone to pay again. In the 1960’s it was estimated that because Disneyland was the cleanest place on earth you could eat anything that you dropped on the ground with no ill effects. Merry Christmas, Adam.

  • Cooler instead of warmer weather is way better for outdoor places like theme parks. Fancy, expensive parks in Dubai, UAE, themed to IPs from Warner Bros, etc, are apparently often affected by desert climate (Dubai is even warmer than Vegas). Yet Orlando’s tropical weather has never undermined the parks of WDW or Universal, etc. Universal is planning a park several miles outside of London & probably will have a lot of indoor spaces.

  • I was raised on Disney and raised my kids as well. I haven’t been to WDW in about eight years. Seeing the prices and the nickel and diming done with the Genie+ is a complete turn off. I miss the experience of “winging it” – without ride appointment times and added fees. It’s really disappointing. Maybe I’m just old.

  • The look on your face was priceless when your treat fell off the stick. Thanks for practicing the 5 second rule and not throwing it out. Loved the view of the paddlewheels on the Liberty Belle. So sad to hear they are going to change the Country Bear Jamboree. That’s a classic. The Tiki Room and Country Bears was my mom’s favorite atrractions followed by It’s a Small World and Peter Pan.

  • For me the maximum crowds and longest possible wait times cancel out the enjoyment of the special activities at Christmas? The rain might give you a break from the lines but puts a damper on the fun, too. Unless you take perverse joy in perusal people get wet and running for cover. What is like doing Autopia in a downpour? What do the Dapper Dans, parades and Collective Five look like getting drenched? I’m glad you’re paying the entrance fee and the $35 plus per ride for me.

  • So you had a nice Christmas at MK ;🏰nothing Better~~ I always wanted to go on Christmas,🎠 but have to do the cooking, company; Hopefully one day….I have to go before Dec. 15, or after Jan 4th, then all the decoration are gone…So nice to enjoy the Parks…but you left before all those Beautiful Fireworks went on,🎆 and I love the Parades..🎄🎄…Jingle Bells, Christmas Carols….Oh so much fun!! we are all Big kids at heart. 💗Merry Christmas, to you. Adam, and Your Wonderful Family 🎄🎄

  • Great day Adam thanks for the fun day at Magic Kingdom also I hope you had a great at Magic Kingdom and I hope you had a great Christmas 🎄 also I thought it was a bummer that your Mickey rice crispy treat fell on the ground but it was funny that you picked it off the ground and ate that bad boy because i would have done the same darn thing, well Adam I really did enjoy hanging out with you thanks again for a wonderful Magic Kingdom time, now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and Merry Christmas 🎄 and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️

  • We were there on 12/25 and it wasn’t terrible with the Genie+ & LL… We did everything but: – ( ) Astro Orbitor – ( ) Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor – ( ) Peter Pan’s Flight – ( ) Enchanted Tales with Belle – ( ) Enchanted Tiki Room – ( ) The Hall of Presidents – ( ) Walt Disney’s Carrousel of Progress – ( ) Walt Disney World Railroad We are going back on Saturday to close out our trip.

  • wow! That x’mas Mickey treat that you were presenting at the end…when it suddenly, without warning, finally happened😱it slipped off the stick and fell on the ground with a resounding plop. Your application of the 5-second rule was spot on 🤔😆 (the way you present your food always made me nervous coz you did it in such a way that it “invites connecting with the ground”.😉 Anyway, enjoy and have fun!

  • Hello Adam. As always we enjoyed perusal your article! We purchased tickets and Genie+ for our Disneyland trip yesterday but wasn’t able to stay for the whole day. I came down with something and we had to leave. What a way to spend our Christmas and anniversary confined to bed! But we did get a few pictures and short articles before we left. The 5 second rule definitely works 💖🎄💖

  • Adam, Merry CHRISTmas to you one day late! Really enjoyed your article and that rice krispy treat looked really good! We had our family Christmas out at my baby brother’s house yesterday where we grew up. It’s always fun going back out there on the holidays. Hope you had a very Merry CHRISTmas with your family. Looking forward to your next vlog!

  • Hello ATW! I have been perusal your articles for many years. I don’t think I have ever laughed out loud at one of them until now! 😂 You unexpectedly dropping your sweet treat made my day, thank you! I will be in the parks starting tomorrow (27th) for 3 days. Maybe I will see you and we can drop a treat together…5 second rule! 😉
