Director Douglas Mackinnon directed actor David Tennant to channel his “Doctor Who” days on the set of Amazon’s and BBC’s “Good Omens”. Tennant portrays the demon, Crowley, in the miniseries, where he watches his beloved 1930s Bentley explode in a fiery wreck. Tennant spends much of Good Omens cruising around London and the surrounding countryside in a Bentley, and by the time the jarring cliffhanger brings the good times to a screeching halt, the series unfolds. Tennant offers serpentine oomph as he sinks into the depths of demonic despair, engulfed by the demon.
Neil Gaiman’s adaptation of his and Terry Pratchett’s novel starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen saves Amazon’s adaptation from being a total mess. David Tennant and Michael Sheen star in newly released scenes from Amazon’s upcoming fantasy series, and it’s everything we hoped it would be. Tennant and Sheen had been in a film together before (2003’s “Bright Young Things”), but did not actually have any scenes together.
The Making of Good Omens book explains everything, and they have admitted that they really put David Tennant in a burning car, which is not true. Tennant says he didn’t do it, the Bentley’s owner was on site. Neil Gaiman and Rob Wilkins in conversation about Good Omens said that setting actors on fire is wrong, but setting a bookshop on fire and blowing up the Bentley was necessary. Some of the scenes of Crowley driving the flaming Bentley were made possible by the car being really on fire and David Tennant really driving it.

Why does Crowley have bullet holes in his car?
Crowley, a Demon, owns a black 1926 Bentley with only one owner, Him. He has never updated the Bentley, possibly because its performance relates more to his expectations than any mechanical function. Crowley has only refueled it once, in 1967, and he enjoys free James Bond bullet-hole-in-the-window transfers. Despite being a Demon, Crowley is fond of sleeping, sleeping through the entire 19th century. He enjoys classical music, with Elgar and Liszt being the only composers who ever reached Heaven.
He also has a collection of Soul Music, with James Brown not included. Crowley’s cassettes in his car turn into “Best of Queen” cassettes in a fortnight, leading to any cassette featuring Freddie Mercury performing his songs.

The question of whether David Tennant was put in a real flaming car in the film “The Lion King” has been a popular one. However, the answer is no. The film has numerous safety codes and insurance to cover even the smallest things, making it unlikely that he could be in danger. In fact, under the university’s filmmaking insurance policy, jumping and running are considered “stunts” and require proper approval. This highlights the ridiculousness of production insurance. The question is more about the VFXs and how they pulled off the effect more than the language of the camera.

What kind of car did Paul Newman drive in the movie HUD?
Martin Ritt’s movie stars Paul Newman and a 1958 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. Newman’s appearance is perfect in the Texas Panhandle, but the car is a different story. The Caddy is long, low, wide, and pink, with an absurd pair of tailfins. The film is in black and white, but the Caddy’s pinkness is mentioned twice in dialogue. The car fails to bounce, wallows, and slithers around corners, making it unreliable. Newman’s character Hud is a seducer, drunk, rebel, cynic, and cold-hearted manipulator, a 1960s hero.
He leaves a woman’s house just as her husband arrives and attempts to nail Alma, his father’s housekeeper, even to the point of a drunken attempted rape. Newman is the best of these characters in the film.
“Crowley had made it.and now Crowley was stuck in it.” my favorite part of this is that we get foreshadowing of this level of stupidity on Crowley’s part way back in the beginning: when he shuts down all mobile communication within central London, forgetting that he himself LIVES in London and communicates primarily via a mobile!
The line “that’s someone else’s problem” is likely borrowed from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In that book, everybody ignores anything that’s somebody else’s problem (SEP). Using an SEP generator, an alien spacecraft was able to land in the outfield during a cricket match, and no one even noticed.
