Witchcraft and Satanism have often been associated with the same meaning, but their understandings differ. This study focuses on modern groups, not on witchcraft, Devil worship, or Satanic abuse issues. Understandings of witchcraft fall into two basic patterns: allegations about witchcraft purportedly practiced by others and the understandings associated with it. Luciferian Witchcraft is a spin-off from the Wicca movement, which has created a “medium” form of Satanism.
Satanism, the worship or veneration of Satan, a figure from Christian belief, is also known as the Devil or Lucifer. For most of Christian history, from the late 1980s until the mid-1990s, allegations of children being sexually abused and even killed in the course of rituals associated with Devil worship or Satanism were made. Witches are often depicted as villains in fairy tales or exercisers of the satanic occult in scary movies.
Historically, Satanist was a pejorative term for those with opinions that differed from Atheism and Satan Reverse Christianity. Sociologists have noted that conspiracy theories about witchcraft, Satanism, and other forms of “evil ritual” often arise during periods of rapid social change.
Muti murders are associated with sorcery, a kind of witchcraft that causes harm to an individual through medicine or tonics. Satanic magicians are told to be honest with themselves and practice lesser magic effectively.
In the 1950s, Gardner created his own branch of Wicca, which became what we know today as modern Wicca. The terms “witchcraft” and “satanicity” are often used interchangeably, but they are not interrelated.
