A mystic adept is a character that focuses on flexibility of approach rather than raw power, and is considered to be 100 times better off as a normal adept. They should aim for 6 magic skills, such as Focused Archery, and have a higher priority A (magician) plus priority B (adept). Priority A (mystic adept) is almost as good as priority A (magician) plus priority B (adept), but they may need to pay a token extra.
BTB introduces Mystic Aptitude and State of Purity for essence 6 human/elven adepts to shore up their Strength, but they are considered to have more. In the long term, Mystic Adepts will usually outpace an adept, less often a full mage. However, there are ways to build effective mystic adepts, but the focus should always be on flexibility of approach rather than raw power.
