Kamp-Rite’s Original Tent Cot is a multi-functional off-the-ground camping gear that can be used as a cot, one person tent, or combined. The DTC-443 Oversized Tent Cot comes with a rainfly, poles, and carry bag, and can be set up as a single version or a combination. The sturdy cot base eliminates uncomfortable cross bars found with standard sleeping cots, making setup quick and easy.
The Kamp-Rite Tent Cot can be converted from a bed to a lounge chair by releasing the three Velcro closures at the top of both upper tent support bars and folding the upper tent support bars. There are two small vents on the top sides of the tent cot that can be left open to prevent condensation.
The Kamp-Rite Oversize Tent Cot stands 28cm above the ground and offers additional comfort with its expanded sleeping area. It is wider and longer than the Original Tent Cot and adds an additional sleeping area.
To clean the tent, use a soft cloth with a light soap and water mixture. It is recommended to clean the tent again when returning home, but avoid using vinegar, bleach, or ammonia.
The Kamp-Rite Oversize Tent Cot stands 11″ above the ground and provides additional comfort with its expanded sleeping area. Tents usually get dirty except for the floor, but can be turned upside down and dried using a garden hose.
The Kamp-Rite Oversize Tent Cot is durable enough to stand up to the toughest adventures thanks to its heavy-duty powder coated steel frame and 190T fabric.

My 5th or so use of the tent cot. I did use it on the ground up in Galbraith Lake in the Brooks Mountain Range of Alaska. It worked …
Hey Jeremy, Thanks for doing this series of articles. I know the length of the Oversized is 90″, but I’m more curious what the length is between the furthest “feet” or legs? My roof rack is 83-84″, and I can’t quite tell from pics/videos how short of the 90″ the feet are. When you get some free time, any chance you could measure that length? If you’ve already put this info somewhere, I apologise. I didn’t come across it
You have inspired me to try a double cot tent on my rig. Just received it but waiting for warmer weather. My question is do you haul the tent on the rack after you fold it all back up or do you place it in the back of your rig? If you haul it on the roof then what do you use to keep it dry while transporting? Thanks
Good job Sheila….I’ve been camping with the Kamp Rite compact tent cot in the standard size for a few years (kinda wish I had that extra 5″ width) I camp primarily on motorcycle, so I opted for the smaller version. I really have enjoyed using it, and think you will as well. Kamp Rite does make a warm weather version of the tent, that can also be used with the same cot. It’s called the IPS system, and I think you may want to check it out. It’s about 90% insect screen, and really makes for a much more enjoyable hot weather experience. It’s very reasonbly priced. If you’re camping with a chance of rain, I do suggest having a tarp over your tent, in addition to the rainfly. While the tent will keep you perfectly dry, it’s kinda difficult to get in and out without letting in some water. Hope you enjoy, and I’ll look for you out there, Peace
Hi Sheila, I’m a new subscriber. Even though I don’t like camping, I do love being out among nature. I’ve now watched about three of your articles and I’m hooked by your outgoing vibrant personality! You explain things so well that you are making me want to go out and buy camping gear, lol 😂! That cooking stove did it, cause I enjoy cooking. I normally would be afraid to mess with butane, but you make it look so easy! Thank you for taking me out of my element during this pandemic! Take care 🙋🏻♀️☕️🚙🔥🌭
Despite the full tent cot being a couple pounds heavier IMO its eaiser to set up (unfold it, lock the legs, pull over rain fly 6:40 (also some straps but I also don’t don’t read the directions😅.). I got the Cabellas tent cot which is essentially KampRites full tent cot which I love because even though its a few pounds heavier I dont have to set up the tent portion. I agree the 1st night I slept in it I was amazed how wide it is. Nice idea on the fan.
I really enjoyed your reviews on the items that you bought. Is there a possibility that you could give your height that way I have a point of reference. And also is it possible to give the amount of weight that the cot will whole. The reason that I’m asking is because I’m a queen size. Thank you looking forward to getting out there and enjoy myself also.
I enjoyed this article. I’ve never gone camping and don’t know anyone who ever has. It looks like an adventure. Wouldn’t work for me because of the outside wildlife (bugs and rodents). Girl, I wouldn’t last. I like how you put up your cot and tent so easily and who knew there’s a portable frying pan. You’re an interesting person and very knowledgeable.
My kinda girl. Me and some of my girlfriends get together and go camping. Its just a beautiful thing to wake up to the birds and watch the sun rise. We look for edible plants to mix with our food that we brought and we do a lot of girl interaction and learn about nature, where we go we do everything a man can do but we do it better cuz we’re women. LOL
Great article. I have never been camping. I live in Virginia and I’m sure that there are lots of great campsites here but I just have never been. I did do summer camp as a child, but of course, that is not real camping. Looks like it would be fun, if you are with friends or family. I don’t think that I would enjoy it as much if I were alone. Don’t you worry about bears, snakes, and other wildlife?
I enjoyed this Sheila it was very informative. Where are some of the places u go camping? I like ur style. I’m single too. And need to get busy with my life and start doing some things alone. I’ve been enjoying ur articles and I just came across u tonight. Its late now and I haven’t even fixed my dinner. U might as well say, someone caught my attention. Lol enjoy
Sheila please do your research in regards to cooking with aluminium. I’ve always been told that there’s links to Alzheimer’s, there are other good lightweight materials that you can use. Also don’t put your non-stick pan in the fire, if you use it on your propane/butane stove it will be fine but I would use cast iron if I were to cook in the fire, if you ever do. This is my first article of yours that I am perusal (and I am enjoying it) so forgive me if you have covered any of this in your other articles (maybe you have mentioned you strictly use propane and not a fire for cooking, I don’t know). Anyway keep on getting out there as much as you can and enjoy every minute of it 😎
I don’t know why you ended up in my feed but I’m happy you did! I’m new to your website and this article was really useful. I’m going out today to find the colander for the fire pit setup. It would be useful if you gave the specific name brand of a product instead of saying “it’s on Amazon”. I try to shop at brick/mortar stores first. Plus, Amazon sells so many products, the specific company’s name is still needed for people to know exactly what was reviewed.
The mask is to protect the other person, not to protect you. Also, as you’ve mentioned before, I’m that girl that’s the bad guy. I am so concerned whether we’re going to beat this pandemic, because people are so resistant, ie, not wearing masks, not practicing social distancing. I feel like screaming sometimes.
